Folk Nashville Reviews
We went to Folk on New Years Eve for our Anniversary and it was amazing. We ended up just sitting at the bar, but that’s usually our favorite and the vibes at the Folk bar are top notch. We had an earlier reservation so it wasn’t crazy busy. They had a special menu for new years with special items not on the regular menu. We ended up getting the mussels, carbonara type pizza, and a chicken parm which were all special menu items. Everything did not disappoint and would recommend any/all if they ever become regular menu items. We’ve been multiple times to Folk as we use to live a couple streets away and it’s still as awesome as a place as when it first opened, if not even better!
This is a wonderful seasonal, farm to table restaurant in East Nashville. The service was impeccable—so warm and friendly and they timed out the courses perfectly. We started with the rock shrimp and kale. The kale salad is a must order! Our mains were the chicken Milanese and the halibut. Both were so well cooked and flavorful. We also had the squash pizza. It had a little bit of a kick to it. I recommend this dinner spot if you are looking for a hearty, well sourced meal in Nashville.
Folk in East Nashville is such a great spot. A friend who was from Nashville recommended it to me. We started with the focaccia, which was wonderful, and shared the sausage pizza—fantastic flavor. The stracciatella cheese was a little underwhelming (under-salted and under-seasoned), but still good. A friend told me to try the clam pizza, so that’s on my list for next time! The real surprise was the corn ice cream—absolutely delightful. We’d never ordered anything like it before, but the restaurant did a fantastic job of incorporating Southern corn into a dessert. The atmosphere is quaint, service was fast, and overall it was a really enjoyable dinner. Just a heads up: the glasses of wine are on the smaller side, and if you don’t have a reservation you may be turned away or left waiting at the bar. Definitely worth booking ahead—I’d absolutely go back!
Appetizers and pizza are amazing. Main dish are weird. The Chocken Milanese is huge fried chicken covered with green tomato. Pork portion is very small for the price and served with half apricot and red oven papers. There is no side dish to order. Service is amazing as well as atmosphere
We really enjoyed our dinner, drinks and service here! Our favorite dish was the halibut and pizza. Interior was very pretty with open view of the kitchen.
We had a small wedding so we had dinner at Folk. From the moment we walked into the door everything was perfect! Erica took such great care to make our experience special. The food was fantastic! Our guests said it was the most amazing experience. Emily helped make everything a reality since we had a larger group. I would 100% recommend Folk for special occasions and even a casual night out. Huge shout out to both FOH and BOH for making our wedding dinner a huge success!
Great spot! Restaurant was super helpful given our friend is in a wheelchair. Solid drinks and food! The chicken patte was a show stealer and all the cocktails were so delicious
We are new to the neighborhood, Nashville in general. I loved the feeling the overall chill and attentiveness of the staff. I felt like I was in a well oiled restaurant with Michelin recommended undertones. The menu changes often which is always a plus for me. Probably the best Mezcal Negroni I had in a while. Great service, amazing food.
The pizza!! The vibes! I loved it all. I think it would be fun to take a bigger group than just two here because you could try more of the dishes. They are all so yummy and you really can’t go wrong.
Buzzing, Italian-influenced restaurant that we were drawn to by its reputation for exceptional pizza. The space is modern but warm, and the atmosphere bustling without ever feeling chaotic. We started with the broccoli and heirloom tomatoes, both of which tasted extremely fresh and were seasoned to perfection. We then moved on to the main event - the pizza. The dough is sourdough, and it's slightly thicker than a traditional Neapolitan while still being thoroughly crispy. I had the pepperoni, candied jalapenos and hot honey, while my husband opted for the pork sausage. Both were delicious. We finished with a focaccia ice cream with whey caramel and an olive oil stracciatella. Each was the perfect size for a not-overly indulgent sweet sign-off, and bursting with flavour. A really great experience and highly recommended.
Dined here for the first time for an anniversary dinner and had a lovely time. The staff was super kind and the food was absolutely delicious. We loved the little post card that came with the receipt- such a sweet touch.
First time at Folk and will definitely be back. The restaurant is beautiful and staff were very attentive. Did not have to ask for any refills. We got there early enough to try some of the happy hour menu options which were great. Loved the crust of the pizza and finished with two amazing desserts, the tiramisu and sticky toffee pudding!
This is exactly how food should taste. Authentic and cooked perfectly. Full of flavor and soul, excellent service and very cute place. Every single thing we tried was absolutely delicious! We loved our experience and the suggestions made by our server. The only thing that wasn’t absolutely was delicious was the grapefruit sorbet. I suggest a reservation and the muscles.
Beautiful space, with a bar that specializes in Italian Amari liqueurs, which includes several Fernets. Our meal was flawless - rich selection of heirloom tomatoes, a crunchy green salad, tasty beef tartare. The highlight was the pepperoni pizza with sausage, hot honey, and pickled jalapenos. The crust was singed and crunchy, and the flavor combinations worked symphonically. A focaccia ice cream with pear butter finished off the meal - rich and refreshing. Tiptop service, this is a stellar Nashville restaurant.
Our new favorite restaurant! The pizza is to die for - best dough in the city. Cocktails were great. Everything else on the menu was fantastic but the pizza was definitely the best. Will come back many times to sit at the bar and get a pizza with a couple of drinks.
Folk is the type of restaurant that makes me feel adventurous because I wanted to try every single thing on the menu. My wife and I shared a great dinner there before a concert and we both left there looking forward to our next Nashville trip. We can't wait to cone back and see what's new on the menu and to try their pizzas that looked absolutely amazing. Our server was wonderfully patient with us in explaining everything to us from the drinks that we ordered to how our dishes were prepared. We were both impressed, which makes me state that we will definitely be back. We enjoyed all of or dishes, but the lamb meatballs were outstanding. Next time, we are going after the pizzas. We'll definitely be back.
I absolutely love coming to Folk whenever I get the chance. Making a reservation for a corporate dinner was the perfect excuse to dine in again! We loved how all the items were shareable over a great conversation and some amazing cocktails to go along. A must try if you are considering!
Folk blew my mind with their amazing pizzas. The clam pie had the most incredible, balanced, and flavorful base sauce. I highly recommend a visit to Nashville just to try their fares. Great staff, awesome food, and one of the best Amaro collections in the South.
I ordered takeout this evening and it was ready within 15 mins. I got the pineapple and nduja. It was balanced and the sauce and dough still got to shine. Excellent cook on the pizza. Also tiramisu was tasty! Definitely look forward to having a full meal there at some point.
Loved this place! Great vibe, superb service and unique, amazing food! Party of two - we ordered *2 Snacks- Cherry Tomato Focaccia & Raclette, plum jam, fennel. Both were amazing, but I would recommend adding on the whipped ricotta option on the bread. *1 fruit salad Stone fruit, green tomato, salsa verde, walnut, blue cheese - GET THIS!!! Oh my, the textures and flavor fusions made this dish our favorite of the night! I could have eaten the whole bowl myself. Yummy! *1 pizza Sun gold, basil, pecorino - very tasty and not heavy. We actually had room for dessert - a plum, lemon cream creation that was light and topped off the night. Pricing pushes up when you order several items, but it was amazing!
My colleagues and I visited here while in town for a conference and were just so pleased. Elyse took great care of us during our visit. She checked in often just to ensure we were still doing well. All three pizzas were great (margherita, hot honey pep with pickled jalapeño, and the chanterelle) but the chanterelle was the stand out! The tiramisu was worth every penny and the Austrian wine was thoroughly approved by my Austrian boss. Thanks for a delicious dinner!
This trip was my second visit here, and both times were incredible. I'm from out of town or I would be here regularly. The food (including dessert) is delicious! The clam pizza is a must if you like clams/seafood, or if you're feeling adventurous. Service was especially good this time around (I believe our server was Hannah.). I will be back the next time I'm in Nashville.
Some of the best food I have had in a long time. Whoever is running the wine program has a great selection of wine as well as the cocktails are amazing!
Fantastic experience at Folk. Went for snacks/drinks - service was impeccable and drinks were amazing. Sat on the patio and ambiance was spot on. The tiramisu is some of the best we’ve ever had - not heavy & perfect balance of flavors!
Folk is one of our go-to spots. The vibe is great, the food is top quality, and the pizzas are amazing—perfect crust and great flavors. We always end up coming back!
Folk is such a wonderful place to go for creative, delicious food, great cocktails, and an amazing wine menu. We love going for dinner for their pizzas but we recently discovered that their brunch is absolutely incredible. I think their brunch burger is one of the most high quality, delicious burgers I’ve ever had. Folk has also gone above and beyond to stay safe during the pandemic, and I respect them so much for it. I feel extremely safe on their new patio, and I’m glad they encourage safe behaviors from patrons dining there as well to protect their staff.
If you are looking for a different dining experience this is the place. The food is creative and seasonal. I have been several times with 5 or more people. The handled larger parties just fine. The servers always interact with our group very will and answer all the crazy questions. The clam pizza is worth trying. They are great about splitting checks any way you need.
Amazing food and ambiance. The menu changes seasonally and it never disappoints. Such a cool spot.
Loved this place. Great atmosphere. Pizza was delicious. We had wonderful service. It was very late & few tables were left but our water glasses were never empty & we were constantly checked on
We went to Folk for Date Night on a Saturday night. We were able to get 2 seats right away at the bar with no waiting and no reservation. The atmosphere was great and it is a much bigger space than it looks like from the outside. We appreciate the large selection of vegetable options. We had the sourdough bread starter and it was great. Followed by a squash pizza and the pepper garlic pizza. We knew this would be too much food, we just couldn't decide. I thought the squash pizza was great while my wife preferred the pepper garlic. Con: they use a lot of fancy(unnecessary) words on the menu that makes it confusing.
1st visit and plan on returning The chicken entree was memorable. Atmosphere lively and friendly, parking is free on street, cocktails unique, loved the clear ice
The pizza here is incredible! We also enjoyed the focaccia bread, the smoked trout rillettes, and the olives.
We had a fantastic dinner here with Folk! It could not have gone better or had more delicious food. The staff were friendly and helpful, and all went so smoothly! My husband doesn’t like pepperoni pizza but was completely won over by their honey and pickled jalapeño version. The cocktails were so good, and the fresh peas with mint in a cream sauce and the asparagus with Parmesan and anchovy were out of this world. Folk has solidly placed on our favorite Nashville restaurants list ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our party of 10 had a spectacular evening at Folk. The ambiance was so lovely. The staff took such great care of us from beginning to end and the food was exceptional. Our waitress made such incredible drink recommendations to pair with our food as well. We will absolutely be back!
The pizzas were PHENOMENAL, prob top 3 ive had in my life. The chicken Milanese ABSURDLY good. The wine selection was spot on. The tuna was not my fave but super fresh. Big and creamy tiramisu Our waiter (tattooed semi ginger) was nothing but fabulous. If you in nashville dont this is a must. Well be back for sure
We were visiting from out of town with our baby. The experience we had here was phenomenal and Hayden our server was a big part of why this experience was so good. He was understanding and attentive. The food was great service was great. Pete at the bar also great. Highly recommend, would go again.
Some of the better meals I’ve had in a minute. Really comforting vibes, and service. But the food stole the show. The chicken Milanese was some of the best chicken dishes I’ve ever had, the pizzas were off the charts, and the appetizers were absolutely tremendous. Would love to try more dishes. Also, please don’t skip the tiramisu. Truly recommended.
Everything is amazing!!! We booked a table for 10 on the wrong date by accident, and they were extremely kind and helpful and were still able to accommodate us, despite our mistake. Even though we were doing a set menu because of our large group, they were very accommodating of our gluten free friend. They also worked with us before to create a delicious special mocktail. 10/10 food and service!
We had an amazing experience at Folk, and a huge part of that was our server, Hayden. He gave us the best food recommendations, every dish he suggested was spot on and made the meal unforgettable. Hayden was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely excited to help us choose, which made the whole experience even better. If you’re dining at Folk in Nashville, definitely ask for Hayden. We can’t wait to come back! And Ben behind the bar took a great photo of our group!
We had a good time. This place is looks nicer on the inside than on the outside. The staff is excellent! Although the menu is small, the food tastes great and is presented well. I really like d the fish dish. Parking in that area is always tricky since you can't park on the street if your not a resident. There is a gravel lot behind a church on the next block.
Cool place, staff were amazing and nice which can be refreshing in east Nashville. Only negative is parking is a real issue. But the food is worth the extra effort. The pizza was great! And the old fashion was on point.
This restaurant has an excellent vibe with a vibrant interior, tall ceilings with beautiful decorations, and an impressive bar at the front overlooking the street. While we only got food to go, I would definitely come back here to eat in person. We got their pizza that had kale and garlic crunch on it. Let me say that this is incredibly oily/greasy. The box will be soaked with oil, so be prepared for that. The pizza itself tastes pretty good, but I would maybe prefer a little less kale and more of the other ingredients. The garlic crunch had a very weak garlic flavor and more oil flavor. It would be really nice to have more expressive garlic flavor incorporated into the pizza. Overall, based on the pizza and the vibe of the restaurant, this is a solid place to eat.
First time at Folk and we'll definitely be back! We made reservations for our anniversary in January and arrived 5-10 mins before. However, we did not get seated until an hour after our reservations. The staff was super accommodating though and the manager even came over multiple times to say sorry (turns out the previous guests were not leaving the table that was assigned to us). We were a bit bummed, but after standing for a while we were able to sit at the bar, order drinks/tea and waited for our table. Once we got seated, they were very kind and brought us the crudité and focaccia as a "thank you" for waiting. The crudité was delicious but the focaccia really stole the show! It was definitely the best bread we've ever had and probably our favorite dish of the night. We ordered the butternut squash pizza and the beef shank/polenta. The beef was incredible, and the pizza was alright but a bit dry and the cheese on top was a bit too sharp - so it over powered the other flavors on the pizza. We got tiramisu for dessert and it was the best we've had in Nashville! Aside for the seating hiccup, everything was great! Atmosphere is cozy, servers/host were knowledgeable and kind. We will definitely be back to try other items, but mostly to get the focaccia again!
My fiancé and I went for a date night and loved it. This restaurant was out of our comfort zone but was really good! It's a perfect date night spot.
The pizza and cocktails are great. Service is attentive and friendly. The veggie portions were a bit skimpy and the corn wasn’t enjoyable. Try the sausage pizza and the Too Much Thyme cocktail.
*US based Google guide with 2M views. This place is great for drinks! Nice bar and cocktails. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the pizza and service. I ordered the popular clam pizza. I want to believe they just rushed and forgot to add toppings to my pizza because it truly tasted like bare crust with a bit of sauce and clams 2/10 it was not good. The tiramisu was amazing! The service. The hostess politely refused to sit me until my friend arrived. I was asked to sit at the bar in the meantime even though the table was ready. I did and had a drink which was great but that was very awkward. Never experienced that at a restaurant. Our waitor was also not attentive in 2+hrs he only checked on us once to ask if we wanted another drink. Overall, great for drinks. Pizza quality and service should improve.
The place is great! The food felt incomplete in many ways. Nothing came with the anchovies. Just anchovies. Luckily I ordered the Foccaci, which may have been the best thing on the menu. For the price point, it just felt like the quality of ingredients were there but not finished.
Everything here was great the food the ambience everything but if you’re a tattooed up working class, man, you’re not wanted . This place is for trust fund babies . It’s funny because the name of the restaurant implies everyone included, but that’s not the way I felt at all .as a Guy from Ireland, who has such a high regard for the people pulling pints To be looked down at by them was a shot in the heart. I really hope the owners reevaluate how their stuff treats people.
Shockingly bad. I guess the pizza is why people go to Folk? Because the rest of the menu is terrible. We had the smoked tuna dip, which was, as far as we could tell, canned tuna dumped unseasoned into a minuscule Petri dish. The rock shrimp entree is equally tiny and great if you enjoy small, tepid blobs of shrimp swimming in hotdog water. And the famous chicken Milanese is NOT it, friends. Piled high (inexplicably) with dill-drenched raw wax beans, it literally cries out for something tangy and sweet (ie. a lingonberry compote, perhaps) to cut through the oily, mouth-lacerating batter. And the cocktails don’t fare much better, it seems. I had the OAMC, which came weirdly unadorned in a baby wine glass and looked and tasted like chilled turpentine. Drink at your peril! Still downing Advil to combat the headache. Skip this one - unless you love pizza, I guess.
Food was OK. The price was too high for the portions. Ordered tuna dip and it did not come with bread you had to pay extra for focaccia bread Kind of ridiculous. Service is extremely slow. People come here for the pizza, but the pizza was undercooked and just overall not a great experience
