It's my first time here and I plan to go back. It's a place where the food is excellent, very clean, with a good variety of dishes and very reasonable prices. It also has a lovely dining room inside. We really enjoyed it.
We went after visiting the mining railway, and we made a reservation from 1:00 to 3:15. Despite being packed, they served us very quickly. And what can I say about the food? Everything was homemade and delicious.
We came after our railway tour and had a wonderful meal. The menu was reasonably priced, with generous portions and home-cooked food. We ordered pork and potato stew, and for main course, beef with tomato sauce and whisky-infused sirloin. Everything was delicious. The service was quick and attentive.
Last Saturday, September 30th, 22 bikers who had traveled from Cadiz to ride through Rio Tinto and Aracena ate at this restaurant. We already had a table reserved and a menu. Everything was extremely pleasant from the owner and staff. The food was plentiful and delicious despite being with 300 other bikers from different parts of Andalusia who were participating in the Rider. Many thanks to the entire staff at Restaurant Época for their kindness and professionalism. We will definitely return.
The food is very good. The owner is very friendly. It also has a wonderful terrace. They don't always have the same menu. They're innovative, and that's what people like. I highly recommend the English pudding. I go there a lot, and the other day I ordered migas (breadcrumbs), which was delicious. The shrimp salad was delicious. And they'd set up a large Nativity scene.
Esplendido
I'd actually seen the reviews, but I always give them a margin of confidence unless everything is negative. We called around 3 p.m., five minutes before arriving, to see if there was room (for six people). We arrived and our table was already ready. They took our order right away and served the food fairly quickly. There were four set meals and two mixed dishes for the children. The food was good; I never left hungry. It would have been better if the potatoes weren't frozen, but it's still an ideal place to eat if you're in the area. The service was good. There's parking right outside the door. Another thing that could be improved, although it's not bad, is that the nearby bathroom is shared (there are others in the lounge). The important thing in these cases is the food service, the friendly waiters, and the cleanliness. I would definitely go back. The normal price for four set meals, two mixed dishes, and a coffee is 70 euros.
A quiet place with good service. We ordered the set menu. The stew (with a whole loaf of bread) and the ratatouille were very good, and the main courses were excellent, as the pictures speak for themselves: veal with vegetable sauce and sirloin steak with mushrooms in sherry sauce. €26
We chose the daily menu, which includes bread, two main courses, a drink, and dessert, all for 13 euros. For our first course, we chose chickpea stew and Andalusian salmorejo, and for our second course, we had meatballs with sauce and fried azevias. For dessert, we chose melon and St. Mark's cake. Everything was well prepared, with great flavor and presentation. I liked the decoration of the dining room and the tribute to Julia Rufo. Come and visit. Feb 13, 2024
We ordered the €12 set menu and everything was delicious. We had avocado salmorejo, which was a little acidic but tasty. For our main courses, both the pork loin and the chicken fillets were very tender. A simple and tasty set menu. If I had to find a fault, it would be the time it took to serve the main courses. It's ideal if you're not looking for fancy dishes, especially after leaving the Rio Tinto Mines, as we got off the train at 3 pm. I recommend it.
The food isn't outstanding. The standard dishes are better than the tapas, which seem more elaborate. There were four of us, and we ordered a bit of everything (tapas, mixed plates, meats, etc.). Some tapas, which, given the name, suggest something (especially for those who like to try new things and impossible combinations), are rather odd to the palate (and for me, they seem odd...). We all agreed that the best thing was the bread. Very good. The menus looked good, but there was no choice (a couple of very ordinary dishes). What I liked most about what we ordered was the migas (breadcrumbs), and at a very good price, by the way. Also the breaded chicken with bacon and what we thought was cheese sauce. Good value, good quantity, and tasty. The sirloin with cheese and honey was good but simple because it was five slices of pork sirloin with a piece of cheese on top of each one and a drizzle of honey. A bit sparse. What I liked least were the croquettes. I think they were made with pork or similar and mushrooms, because although they were well-fried, the texture was grainy, like very finely minced meat, and I couldn't distinguish the flavor of the meat inside. It wasn't at all pleasant to the palate. And the tuna with ham fat on a chickpea cream... The tuna was cooked well (although I would have preferred it more raw, like tataki), but the combination of flavors wasn't quite right. It was on a bread base that shouldn't have been because the chickpea cream makes it soggy and again, it doesn't help with the texture in the mouth. It wasn't bad, but I didn't want to eat it again either. The potatoes were some frozen, while others seemed homemade, but they had been fried for a while and weren't very good. I didn't take photos of everything ordered, basically of mine and the combo platter.
ok
Mucho que desear, falta profesionalidad,te ponen la bebida y a esperar la comida sin poner unas simples aceitunas, la carta que aparece en las fotos no es real, presumen de tener platos del día tipo guisos y hoy no tenían, los platos son un poco escasos
We came because we had parked our car in the train station parking lot at the mining park and they left a flyer on our windshield. After checking the QR code, it seemed like a good place, but here's my review: the service was very good, that's for sure, fast and attentive, but the food leaves much to be desired. We ordered sirloin steak with herbs and they served us what's in the first photo. It's meat prepared like shredded beef, sliced into small pieces, reheated, and with sauce on top—nothing like a real sirloin steak. The portions were small, and the drinks, in my experience, were a bit of a letdown. In this case, we ordered a pitcher of beer. The QR code they give you at the establishment says "PITCHER 1.80" (second photo), which is what we ordered. Then, on the receipt (third photo), they charge us €3, which they charge us for as half a liter, but it's not half a liter. To give you an idea, it's about the size of a regular cider glass. Even so, I didn't say anything to the waiter, nor do I recommend it, and we won't be returning. I'm posting this here so that the same thing doesn't happen to you when you visit the mining park. Otherwise, it was great: a spacious place and good service. • RESPONSE TO YOUR COMMENT Since I can't review the same establishment twice on Google, I'm editing the review above and responding to your comment. I have plenty of empathy, but what I won't tolerate is you trying to cast doubt on my word. I stated that "WE ORDERED A PITCHER" and they served a half-liter glass because they felt like it. I never asked for half a liter; we ordered "PITCHERS." And a glass of cider is half a liter when you fill it to the top, not just a little more than half as it was. In most places, that's called a "cortada" or a "full" when it's completely full. I'm not going to tell you what you should call it, but what they served me wasn't a pitcher, nor was it half a liter. Say what you will, the dishes were short and small, and the sirloin you mentioned was small and cold. I asked the waiter what it was, and even he didn't know. His answer was, "That's what you ordered." I said, "But what is it?" And after asking him twice, he had to go to the bar to ask because even he didn't know. No one here is badmouthing his work, much less his business. I've only shared my experience, and it was exactly as I described. If you can't handle criticism, that's not my problem. My problem is where I spend my money and whether it's well spent or not. We certainly won't be back. Thank you very much for the service, and have a good day!
El servicio fue bastante lento y las raciones resultaron más pequeñas de lo esperado. La paella no cumplió con mis expectativas en cuanto a sabor y calidad, por lo que probablemente no repetiría la experiencia.
We went to this bar with a good intention, but from the start it was a complete disaster. It took over an hour to serve us, and when they finally took our order, half the dishes on the menu were unavailable. The little that was left, moreover, left a lot to be desired. I ordered salmorejo, and they brought me gazpacho, as if it were the same thing, without even warning me. The food, in general, was terrible: flavorless, poorly presented, and of a quality that in no way justifies the high price. To top it all off, the service was slow and disorganized, with the feeling that no one really knew what they were doing. In short: expensive, bad, and frustrating. I don't recommend it at all; there are many better places where, at least, they treat you with respect and serve you what you order. The waitress's service was terrible. A very bad experience overall.
The most expensive coffee in history, not even on Madrid's Gran Vía. It's impressive, €2.40 a coffee. Are we crazy or something?! Maybe it's because I'm not from the town. No comment. And if that weren't enough, they even kicked me out of the place, saying I'm lying, instead of apologizing for any mistakes. It's a shame I threw away the receipt to post it in the comment. Anyway, now I know where not to go again.
I went for breakfast and ordered a whole wheat sandwich with oil, tomato, and ham. They served me very little ham (it didn't even cover the bread). According to them, they put the same amount of ham in a half sandwich as in a whole sandwich. I told the waiter, and he served me more ham. What they never informed me about was that this extra ham would be charged separately. In the end, they charged me €8.10 for the toast and a coffee. After paying, the waiter called the manager, but I feel like he didn't understand what had happened because he never acknowledged the lack of transparency. The idea isn't to be offensive with this review, but to address it constructively: with a little more clarity, attention, and empathy for the customer, the experience would have been much more satisfactory.
The food was terrible, the plates were absolutely empty, the waiter was very unfriendly, and he had no sense of sympathy. I don't recommend it at all, and the price, well, it's not expensive, but for the poor food they serve, it could be a bit high.
