La Esquila Nerva Reviews
Great staff and food. The beef was juicy and with perfect seasoning. The chicken was also tender. Recommended!!
Had a great time at this Peruvian restaurant. The food was super tasty and everything felt fresh and homemade. The sauces were incredible, honestly could’ve just eaten those with bread all night. Staff was really friendly and made us feel welcome right away. Definitely a place I’d come back to.
Perfect. We are so happy to find this place. Great hospitality and great food.
First time ever trying Peruvian cuisine. Very polite helpful staff recommended dishes for my wife and I. We both absolutely loved the dishes. Will visit again for sure. Chicken was out of this world good!
We had the 1/4 chicken, 1/2 chicken, and a shrimp rice dish as well as yucca and plantain. We thought everything was great. It took a little while to get served, but there was o ly 1 person working and it was definitely worth waiting for. He did mention ordering from a kiosk next time we come in or order take out, but I’m assuming that’s because he may be in the kitchen and it would be more effecticient. We plan to come back again.
Very good food and friendly owner! We had the full chicken, rice and french fries and it was enoughfor two adults and two little kids. Will definetly come again.
Food was great! Juicy chicken, not dry like other places!
Very good Peruvian chicken, made to order. Good service, owner very kind. Check it out.
Everything was incredible and delicious. We had the lamb and tamales- everything tasted delicious and the service was so friendly and helpful.
The outside of the restaurant has much to be desired- or it’s a “diamond in the rough.” Inside it’s clean and well decorated with Peruvian plates and tapestries. Cesar and sidekick, Jordyn, are kind and generous. Instead of white rice, they offered fried plantain! The pollo de saltado (chicken and sautéed vegetables) was tender and had a light, perfectly spiced, dark sauce. They served both Coca-Cola fountain drinks and in the bottle! The food was delicious.
Everything is so good! I had the Arroz Chaufa de Pollo and yuca with a tangy, cheesey sauce. The jalapeño sauce was also delicious and tastes like it's right out of the garden. The fried, sweet plantains were perfection. A home-cooked meal and fast! I know where I'm going the next time I'm in town.
Absolutely delicious! I got the Lomo Saltado and it was incredible. Got a side of fried plantains as well, and they were fried to perfection! No photo of them; I set to eating them before the phone made it out. And the dipping sauces- they were all so tasty! I liked the red one the best but the yellow sauce was a very close second. Possibly a tie. Our server/cook was very friendly and helpful and explained the dishes to us since we’d never had Peruvian food before. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area again!
The food is spectacular and truly authentic. Highly recommended a good place to eat in. Cesar is the best and very personable.
Hands down, the best Peruvian rotisserie chicken in the area! The chicken is juicy, perfectly seasoned with that authentic Peruvian spice blend, and cooked to golden perfection. Pair it with their salad and fries with creamy aji sauce for a meal that hits all the right spots. The cozy vibe and friendly staff make it a must-visit!
Amazing food! Owner is 100 percent customer service to another level. Place is extremely clean. Need to Dine here. Great experience.
We were looking for authentic Peruvian food and we had the pressure to find this amazing place! We love the food and the restaurant was very clean. The owner personally served and greeted us, making us feel like at home. You can tell that they really love what they do. Definitely coming back!
This is the closest to authentic Peruvian cuisine I've eaten in the US. Some items are not available up here. This cannot be helped. On this visit I enjoyed the anticucho, which was delicious. Some people may not like waiting for a properly cooked meal. Personally, I prefer it. The staff is friendly, the place is very clean, and I like the atmosphere.
We had the pollo al la brasa whole chicken special with two side items and everything was really good. Our kids loved the food as well. Definitely coming back next time we are in the area.
Had lunch today at the Peruvian Chicken place in Ranson, WV. La esquina del Sabor (aka Corner of Flavours) is located in a building that has been many things over the years. So, I had to try it. The food was very good (my first taste of Peru) and the interior seating was spacious, clean, and fresh. So, don't let previous tenants/businesses influence your decision to eat here! I had the Chicken and Rice which included three dipping sauces. It had great flavor and the portion was enough for two people. Also learned, Peruvian food is NOT Mexican. No tortilla's. Looking forward to trying their rotisserie chicken and beef dishes.
We got a takeout. The food was amazing and the people were very nice. The entire roasted chicken was cooked to perfection. The plantains were soft and sweet (they were ripe!). Kids tallarin were great too as so as the Tres Leches!! The place itself is not great - so I think takeout is the perfect option!
If you get to-go they put very hot food in styrofoam boxes which the food then melts the styrofoam causing all the chemicals to leech into the food. Also 6 small pieces of Yuca for $5 is criminal.
If I could rate lower than 1 star I would We came in to get 2 appetizers and 2 main meals...and we were told to use a kiosk to do all our ordering...and then we had to wait approx 30 minutes for the food. On top of that, their kiosk wouldn't let me submit my order until I gave them a tip before submitting. This place also made dine in customers use the kiosk Terrible service...and am providing pics of what we ordered Pic 1 was papa a la huancaina, Pic 2 was anticuchos, Pic 3 is their 1/4 chichen (dark meat)....i guess they are calling the burnt wing and skin a 1/4 chicken now, pic 4 was their 1/4 chicken (white meat) with yuca and salad, pic 5, was the pic 4, 1/4 chicken opened up to see what they actually gave me. I would NEVER EVER recommend this place to anyone who would really want peruviana meals. They even had the front hostess chopping up stuff in the kitchen. ** Even in this review...they are making me select dishes to recommend...just to be able to leave a review.....anyone who reads this understand that I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYTHING FROM THIS RESTAURANT...just doing so to enable me to post this review!!
