Absolutely love this place! The chick peas and pita they serve at the table is so delicious! I get the gyro sandwich every time I go and I’m never disappointed! Great place to go if you like Greek food!
Been getting food here for a long time. It has been awhile since I have been here. They did not disappoint. Had the Gyro with Fries. The server brought out some Pita bread and chick peas as an appetizer. The food was delicious. Great atmosphere. The staff is attentive and friendly. Great place to dine. I highly, highly recommend Akropolis to everyone. Good to see Lucas again. Great guy. I wish there was more then 5 stars. See you guys next time I am in town.
Hands down the best Greek around. Whether picking up a takeout order or sitting for a delicious meal, you won't be disappointed
We go here for lunch . Food is always on point. Desserts are delicious. You won't be disappointed!!!!
Marcos was very friendly and attentive! The food was excellent, and the lunch special pricing was great. They have really good gyros with onion sauce, and the moussaka and lemon soup were great as well. We'll be back!
Very tasty food, fast service, pleasant staff. I especially want to mention the lemon soup. It's delicious!
As often as we can we come to this amazing restaurant. To the owner, to all the staff, take out or dine in, the food is amazing, delicious, and alot, and everyone nice and helpful. Every restaurant should take a lesson here on customer service and attentiveness, it's why we all come back time and time again, though we don't live around the corner anymore, we will always take the ride back.
The food there has been and still is incredible. Been eating there for over 12 years!!! Highly recommend it if you love Greek food. The gyro meat is to die for!
I got tired of overpaying at Turkish restaurants, and since our cuisine is basically the same as our brothers the Greeks, I turned to this place instead. This has become my new Mediterranean favorite. All the staff are very attentive and prepare anything you want in no time. I’ll definitely start recommending this place everywhere I go. The lamb chops were my favorite. Thanks for a wonderful evening!🩵
Overall, we love this place. It is our go-to Greek spot. It is casual, quick, and always delicious. We've dined in and taken out. Something about eating it there is just better though! I recommend highly - salad and gyros - :)
What do you do when your kids do amazing on their report cards you go out to the greatest Greek restaurant on Long Island. If you haven't guessed where I'm talking about yet they have something that I like to refer to as crack chicken. I swear they coat this stuff in crack because I can't get enough of it. The food is only second to the people that own the place. Had a great conversation with Matt as we were leaving I told him that we were so happy with our food. When we arrive the immediately brought us pita and chickpea salad. The chickpea salad is made with a very light vinaigrette chickpeas and onions. It is very simple but so delicious. The pita is warm out of the oven and cut into quarters and they brought us yogurt sauce to dip in. My wife had spinach pie and a salad. She was very impressed with the size of the Peace and overall The taste was great. My daughter went out on a limb and ordered something very unusual for her. She ordered a cheeseburger I have the only child that goes to a Greek restaurant and orders a cheeseburger. She said it was cooked perfectly and love the addition to the fresh tomato and the onion. My son went even Wilder and decided to order mozzarella sticks. I have never been more embarrassed for my family in my life. Just kidding they order what they order. I ordered a dish called the happy waiter which was crack chicken with onions and peppers and tomatoes all mixed together. The best part was it came with a bowl of my favorite soup lemon orzo soup. It has such a great flavor here that it is probably my favorite on long Island for this type soup. For dessert my kids have ice cream again being daring. My wife ordered a piece of baklava alamode and I ordered another greek dessert which was pretty good. I'm not even going to attempt to pronounce the name of it so I took a picture of the menu and you'll see it begins with a G Overall everything was fantastic. Our waiter Marcus was accurate and attentive without being overbearing. Obviously we will be back and back often. Thanks for a great night Read reviews like this and many more on Facebook @long island foodies
My sister is a student nearby and this little secret is always a go to. The food is absolutely superb and the staff was very friendly. Don’t fill up on the warm pita appetizers, because the entrees are the main event. I am a fan of the “happy waiter” and the “Molsaki” was some of the best you’ll ever have outside Greece, or Astoria haha. Please get the Baklava, you’ll be thankful.
The place is situated in a non-descript mall with have to stores empty. We were here on a Saturday around 5pm got seated right away. The chickpea salad that you get is absolutely delicious. This was our first time here, so I wanted to make sure I had a good meal that represented the restaurant's quality of work. I told the waitress I didn't eat red meat. She recommended the stuffed chicken with feta and spinach. The food was absolutely delicious I highly recommend it.
The waiter who served us was so courteous (we learned his dad is a waiter at this establishment as well), and he made our experience enjoyable. In addition, the food was good. I can say that I am highly familiar with Greek cuisine, as I've eaten and cooked many times with a good friend who is Greek. I hope the quality of food and service remains favorable. We will continue to frequent here.
We enjoyed the lunch at Akropolis. We had the spinach pie, the fried zucchini, and the Chicken Souvlaki. While all the dishes were good, we especially enjoyed the spinach pie. The spinach was well seasoned, and it wasn't overwhelmed by the cheese, etc. It was pretty busy for a weekday lunch. Service was good and prompt.
After hearing so many raves about this place, we went here on a Saturday night for dinner. We loved the chick peas salad with fresh pita bread that was piping hot. We ordered mozzarella sticks for the table and they were surprisingly good. We also ordered a bottle of white Greek wine which was delicious. There was a chardonnay that we tried which had an odd flavor but wasn't bad. Dinner was interesting. My friends loved their dinner but I did not. Perhaps I am spoiled by my friend's ability to cook the best Greek food or maybe the chef has an off night. The lemon chicken orzo soup had too much lemon. The orzo was gummy. It was terrible. The chicken oreganato was ok but the potatoes and string beans were very salty. We sent it back. The spanikopita was ok. Not the best I've had, either. This place does get packed so get here early. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly.
Three deliveries came with bags soaked in oil from the spanakopita. Two bags broke because the oil just soaked through the bottom. My one delivery person was very careful, held the bottom of the bag but because of the RIDICULOUS AMOUNT OF OIL, it fell through and all over the floor No offer from the restaurant or EVEN A THANK YOU OR ATTEMPT TO MAKE AMMENDS! Finished with them
Please don’t call this chicken doner. It’s neither real doner nor tasty. As for the service, even though there were only four tables at lunchtime, the staff were indifferent and inattentive. Some items listed on the menu weren’t served unless we specifically asked for them. Sorry, but this place is definitely overrated.
I take out from this place often and for some reason tonight somebody decided to sprinkle oregano on everything. I’m choking on oregano here. It’s disgusting and you should know it.!! What happened to your original chef and why is this chef sprinkling oregano on your lemon potatoes? Food is going downhill folks!!! It’s also on the Gyro meat and in my sautéed onions. Needless to say I hate oregano!!!
It's a no-go if you have allergies. Ordered take-out, the person on the phone told me the meal was safe. It wasn't, I called to double check and he insisted it was safe until I asked him to check with the kitchen. Owner gave a refund but told me that some of his staff doesn't know about allergies.
Ordered Uber eats and got the most disgusting soggy mess of a salad . With hardly any feta cheese and giant chunks Of unripened tomatoes, and giant chunks of cucumbers and onions just gross .Definitely not worth $45 And when I called the restaurant to inquire about why the salad dressing was already on the salad they told me that's the way they do it, which is very odd because when are ordering a takeout salad who are they to assume when you're going to eat it . And the salad showed up within 35 minutes a soggy disgusting soaked mess unedible . So diners, beware Customer Service sucked almost as bad as the salad . I wouldn't recommend this place at all .. What a waste of money .
