My partner and I wandered in for a drink and ended up having the restaurants speciality dish, the Greek Gyro Platter. The food was incredibly delicious and the flavours were beautiful. Amazing service from start to finish and attentive to all our needs. Thank you 🙏🏼 x

Has a good family vibe, the owners are present and very friendly. Unfortunately didn’t try their Greek food out but the pizza was 👌 and very filling. Price - affordable. Enjoyed my refill coffee and no one rushed us to leave after we wanted to rest longer, overall enjoyable!

I have waited too long to write this review because it's a challenge to write a review for a place that left me with such an profound impression. How do you put that feeling into words? I cannot do it justice, but I'll try my best. If you don't want to read the whole review, just read this: Eat at 42nd Street Pizza and Restaurant! The authentic Greek and Italian food is amazing. The historic feel of the diner and the love that this family puts into their food is palpable. That's the short of it. My visits to NYC from Montana always include at least a couple pizza places. The first on my list from years ago was Lombardi's (a great place in its own right). I regret that it took me 10+ years before I found 42nd Street Pizza - an amazing little gem. The warmth of the owners who welcomed me and my wife and personally served us, the great taste of the food, and the way that the diner just oozed history left us with an impression that we will never forget. Take your time while you're there and read the historic magazine and newspaper articles on the wall. See the certificates, photos, and mementos. If you're fortunate enough, take a moment or two to visit with the owners. Look at the walls, see the outside of the historic building's façade, and just imagine what this place has been through and survived. Enjoy the taste of the food and the simple, authentic atmosphere. Places like this need support, because if (or when) they leave us, something that makes us who we are will be gone. We cannot allow that to happen. Eat there!! I give them ten stars!! Enjoy!

Had the pleasure of trying the gyro platter and it did not disappoint. The food came out fast, cooked to perfection, and packed with flavor in every bite. The staff were very kind—will absolutely be coming back. I very much appreciate the 90s diner look its a sense of home and warmth

Me and my family visited on the night of December 31st and had a great experience. The place is very cozy, with a calm and family friendly atmosphere, and the service was very good. The pizzas were excellent, full of flavor and great quality. Definitely a spot we would come back to and highly recommend.

Amazing Greek restaurant that was a 7 minute walk from the Intrepid Museum. We were waited immediately and were taken care of by a sweet waitress that recommended the Greek Gyro Platter. The environment was homey and inviting. We got the Mango smoothie with orange juice, lamb gyro combo, chicken gyro combo and a baklava for desert. Everything was amazing, flavorful and the baklava was large enough to share between two people. It tasted like a warm cinnamon bun with chopped nuts. Highly recommend this location for anyone visiting the Intrepid Museum or the surrounding area.

Had a Greek Gyro Platter that totally hit the spot—juicy, flavorful, and way better than I expected for a quick stop. And that hot coffee? Absolute lifesaver in this cold weather. It warmed me up from the inside out and made the whole meal feel extra cozy. Definitely coming back for that combo.

Margarita pizza was really good. Crust was perfect. Also had the chicken gyro (per all the reviews)… it was good, but wish I had stuck to my usual and ordered lamb. Would def go back if I’m in the area. The lady waiting on me was really kind. Though was a little pricey (but what do you expect in NY)

Amazing experience at 42nd Street Pizza! The pizza here is absolutely delicious — the pepperoni pizza was perfectly crispy, flavorful, and full of that authentic New York taste. Maria, the owner, was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. You can really feel how much love she puts into everything. Highly recommend this place — it’s definitely one of the best pizza spots in town! 🍕

I tried the Greek Gyro Platter at 42nd Street Pizza and it was great! The portion was generous, the meat was flavorful and tender, and the pita and salad were really fresh. The staff were friendly and the service was quick — perfect for a casual lunch near Pier 83.

Ok, imagine it’s a Monday afternoon. You spent the last 2 hours (literally) running between the Chinese consulate and the UPS store to get last minute supplemental documents for your visa application. You’re sweaty, hungry, and about ready to pass out so you stumble into the nearest possible restaurant. This is the spot. And this was me last week. Greeted by the sweetest nonna who seated me at a table and brought over a menu explaining everything they had to offer. I saw the sign for pizza outside but she emphasized their Greek food and I was game. I got the gyro pita. Baby, that thang was big and I was grateful because I devoured it in what felt like seconds. If I could go back I would savor it a lil longer because the meat was perfectly seasoned and tender. The pita was also so fresh and soft ☁️ Atmosphere was nice, seemed to be family owned so it had a nice homey feel. Front half of the restaurant had a quaint diner vibe while the back half felt like a family restaurant. Plenty of seating so it’s great for groups or a quick slice and go.

An outstanding experience in every way! From the moment we walked in, María (the owner) made us feel incredibly welcome — she’s warm, friendly, and speaks Spanish, which made everything even easier and more comfortable for us. We tried three different types of pizza, and each one was absolutely delicious — perfect crust and wonderfully balanced flavors. We also had the chicken gyro, a Greek specialty that truly impressed me: juicy, flavorful, and authentic. Simply delightful! The portions are generous, everything is freshly made, and you can taste the care in every bite. But above all, what really stood out was the kindness and hospitality of the staff — absolutely top-notch. Excellent value for money. Without a doubt, we’ll be back — and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and even better service. Highly recommended!

Great cozy diner near the piers with a good menu from classic greek food to burgers and pizza, something for everyone in a group with different tastes. Service was quick and they speak english and spanish. It is a great diner to stop by after a trip to intrepid musuem or the cruise line, which are both nearby. The food was tasty with a good ammount, the pizza was a pretty big slice. The other place was their signature greek plate and was great with the salad. Their parmigan chicken was crispy but not hard, just the right amount, as well as the sauce and cheese on it was a good.

The pizza is very cheesy and good! I count it the best in NYC. And also other dishes are great. And their their sources are homemade and very healthy and fresh. Is basically daily diner for me. And they are super friendly. Family warms

Came for the circle tour and arrived way too early so looked for somewhere to get some food and stumbled across here. Absolutely delicious, we wanted breakfast but still also had to try a slice of pizza because it looked so good! We also found it very fairly priced compared to other meals we've had on our trip here up to now! Definitely recommend 😊

Listen, everybody: you want to relax in a sweet typical tiny diner? Then check this out. I was here to get friendly people, most freshly made food. THANKS to the owners, they're here since 1937 and they work for us, who come here to enjoy. So I am happy founding you. All the best with your small but gemstone diner. Lilly from Switzerland❤️

We had meat ball pasta, sea food pasta, and a combination pizza. Everything tastes delicious. The pizza's crispy crust carries the cheese along with the toppings, forming a harmonic ensemble. The pastas comes in delicious tomato sauces, thick yet not overpowering. The tart sauce compliment the meat ball and seafood to perfection. We also ordered a slice of cheesecake. I love its note of caramel behind the thick creamy texture For the lack of a better word: I love it!

Chanced by this place after visiting the Intrepid Museum and decided to give it a try. We were welcomed in and warmly seated by the host. My mum and I ordered #68 Chicken Souvlaki and #91 Greek Gyro Platter, along with 2 hot chocolates as it was a relatively chilly day. The food was scrumptious and filling. Hot chocolate was decadent. Host came over several times to check on us and made sure we were well taken care of. Overall loved the food and the warm homely atmosphere. Highly recommend the place and the Greek food.

I was welcomed immediately when I first came in and the atmosphere was so nice and homey in there. The prices were a little high but as expected coming right off the ferry. The burger was great and the fries were so crispy and good. I would go back again for sure.

ALSO TS WAS $29 FOR THE PASTA AND SNAPPLE i wouldnt even be mad enough to write a review if it wasnt so expensive 😭 also i was starving and ate like half the butter noodles on the train home but it was so buns i gave it to my friend that inhales like anything and even he didn't want it

Paid $20 for a gyro taco. They are suppose to be the best, but they skim on everything. Have 3 tiny pieces of tomato, no onion and 4 pieces of meat… all for $20. Let’s not forget they put tomatoes on the bottom, so your pita can get soggy and fall apart immediately.
