I got the Matthew on ciabatta and added pesto to it. YUM! The pesto tasted fresh and I loved the touch of citrus. The prosciutto was delicious and I felt there was a good amount of it as well as the fresh mozzarella. The bread was fresh (fluffy inside, nice crust) and overall it was a great experience. Staff is kind and helpful, everything was clean (even behind the counter), good music, and plenty of seating. Will note that it is a bit pricey but I think its worth it. Check it out if you're in the area!

Phenomenal fresh Italian sandwiches. Super fresh meats and great fresh breads to work with to build your best sandwich. Feels like Italy all the way without the plane ride! Grab one in the Moynihan train station and enjoy on your ride!

Delicious lunch today from MealPal! The Pinocchio at Alidoro delivered—artisan bread piled high with savory prosciutto, creamy mozzarella, and a punch from the spicy soppressata. Those roasted peppers made it especially flavorful.

Great Italian sandwiches at a decent price. We tried the Alidoro sandwich and it tasted great. The service was good during lunch time.

I'm so glad I finally tried Alidoro, and the fact that it's close to the office makes it even better. This blew All'Antico Vinaio out of the water for me, plus you can customize everything the way you want. I ordered the Romeo on semolina and added mortadella. The portion was perfect for $21 and honestly worth every dollar. It's a bit cheaper than All'Antico Vinaio and still super filling. I'm definitely coming back to try the other sandwiches. Obsessed!!!

Italian Cheese Steak. How amazing does that sound. It is that amazing. I ask them to make a tiny bit warmer that they usually do. Perfection. Great location. The gentleman; 11/11 around 1:30pm, that assisted me was very obliging.

Excellent service, very friendly. Great vibe in this surprisingly cute little restaurant. Good music, employees seem happy (one of them was even dancing while making food, which can only bring extra good karma to the food). I ordered an iced Nutella cappuccino and biscotti (delicious!), and will be back for some sandwiches, all of which looked very fresh. Not a ton of seating space, as they seem to have a really big takeout and delivery business, but there are a few spots to sit (more along a counter than actual tables). If Alidoro had not been specifically recommended to me, I would have missed it - so glad I found it.

When I first walked into this sandwich shop on 39th, I honestly thought I’d stepped into a stylish cocktail bar. The dim lighting, curated decor, and sleek, industrial charm set a tone far more elevated than your typical sandwich joint. It’s cozy but thoughtfully designed — with tiled walls, exposed beams, warm wood, and hanging greenery that gives it a polished yet inviting vibe. I ordered the Alidoro sandwich — prosciutto, hot peppers, sweet roasted peppers, arugula, and olive oil — and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The bread was standout: rustic, chewy, perfectly crisp on the outside. The balance of sweet heat from the peppers and the savory depth of the prosciutto made every bite exciting. Staff here are super friend and enthusiastic. They even offered to help me take pictures. It’s rare to find this level of hospitality in a fast-paced Midtown spot. This is the kind of place that surprises you. You walk in expecting a quick sandwich, and you walk out feeling like you just had an experience. Absolutely worth a visit — whether you’re working nearby or just passing through.

# Overall: Alidoro is an interesting sandwich shop that I will come back for to try new sandwiches. # Ambiance Alidoro overall gives off a rustic vibe. The line to order is right at the entrance. One detail I really liked was the bread display they have right next to the menu so you know which bread type you're choosing. After placing you can see the large open space where you can wait for your order for take out or sit at the counter top seats. There's just a few large tables in the back. # Food and Drink Gothamist (but with mortadella instead of prosciutto) Unfortunately when I ordered this, they didn't have prosciutto, so they offered me a new choice of meat. They didn't have capicola either, so I chose mortadella. The focaccia was very fluffy and the sandwich overall was sweet and savory. The sandwich was solid, but since mortadella is a sweeter meat, it would be interesting to see what the sandwich would've tasted like with prosciutto.

Go for the iconic gold wrapped subs! They taste just as golden! Very quick, efficient and incredible service. I went at the peak of lunch on Thursday. You’ll walk in to a line for ordering, which goes by quickly. Then you’ll wait for your sandwich! Highly recommend the Alidoro! It has a quick and is SOOOOO flavorful! If you want something more mild go for the Pinocchio. It’s got fresh mozzarella with an olive paste. YUM!

This is a a great Italian sandwich in midtown. I got their signature Alodoro sandwich which I would rate a 9.5/10. The price is a bit high and it gets a bit packed at lunch but worth the price and the wait. The customer service was 10/10 they rushed my order when I told them I was late for a meeting. Will come back soon.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in town, generous portion with reasonable price. Ingredients are super fresh, ordered “Pinocchio” , it was really really good, also loved the “Italian Cheesesteak” , absolutely amazing !!!

Vibe: loud, busy, smells heavenly mixed of meats and bread ;-) I’ve now been to 3 Alidoro locations: Moynihan, Rockefeller and Bryant Park. With some luck, the location by ESB (giant poster!) will open soon… oh boy I’m in trouble. The Bryant park location has seatings and honestly, I don’t know if I can’t eat there… can get too crowded and too loud for me to enjoy the sandwich. Sando: tried a few and my fav is definitely Romeo… turkey, arugula & hot peppers! (Alyssa is a safe option if you don’t like spicy, Alidoro, Gothamist are good options as well). Got 3 sandwiches - $54 + $2 tip. Staff are friendly! (Except for the lady from the kitchen, who gave me a death stare… I was obviously lost… first time, looking for mobile order pick up… she rudely pointed to the front. Like it costs you nothing to be nice.)

Sooo the sandwich I built myself here was phenomenal! However a couple disappointing things: The price ofc, unavoidable for midtown Manhattan. It is what it is But the size of the bread and filling? Should be a lot more for that price! Fresh ingredients, deep flavors, enjoyable meal at Bryant park :) Honestly would try it again here Oh and if you want to try my sandwich combo: Fresh Mozz Sun Dried Tomatoes Sweet Roasted Peppers Red Onion Arugula Lemon Basil Pesto Balsamic Dressing

A well-lit and homey sandwich joint with unique Italian cuisine influences. It's a pricier sandwich on account of the significant size and the ingredients. I had come twice to Alidoro and I am glad I got a second try at the place. The first time I came, I waited about 15 to 20 minutes for my cold Alidoro sandwich. On the site, they say you can also order it hot (but you better ask for that yourself because the server might not ask you). I have never found a place that gives me enough prosciutto, and Alidoro did not change that. The sandwich was good though, and the peppers are surprisingly spicy, packing a good kick. Their bread is also very nice, almost as if fresh, with a crisp exterior and soft inside. The second time I only waited about 10 minutes for my hot Fratelli d'Italia. After about twenty minutes, the sandwich was still warm when I opened it to eat. The bread was excellent once again, and I was happy with the amount of porchetta and mozzarella. The cheese was also still pleasantly stretchy. There was an interesting bitterness from the slightly burnt parts of the porchetta and the pesto spread, which was wonderfully contrasting with the other flavors. All in all, it wasn't a very heavy sandwich at all, which was great.

This place is very charming. It took a really long time for them to make my sandwich. I timed It at around 20 minutes with very few customers in the store. Food was good, but not incredible. I thought the spicy peppers in the sandwich overpowered everything else.

Placed an online order for pickup an hour in advance on a Friday at 11am. Order was due for pickup at 11:45am Upon arrival at 11:50am, there were only 5 customers (more staff than customers) in the restaurant, waiting for their order, and no one standing on line. Yet, my 1x sandwich was not ready so I was asked to wait about 10 more minutes. While waiting, I saw they had sesame seed bread in stock, which was not an option when I placed the order online… a bit frustrating because I realized that I could’ve had the bread of preference and probably would’ve waited the same amount of time if I had just ordered in person… I also noticed that the sandwich size (I ordered Il Sole) was noticeably smaller than when I ordered it one year ago. $19 for a sandwich, I had higher expectations.

Pretty tasty sandwich! Unfortunately the extras I added onto my sandwich didn’t make it on so it was $21 for this.

Value 3. Taste 3.5. Service 4. NYC is a tough place to compete. Anything less than 5 stars these days can be misleading as if this is a scathing review. It’s not. However, when compared to other choices, even within this category, my score is relative. There were at least 8 people working the line between runners, slicers, someone working the cash register and all kind of other roles. The ingredients were good. The bread tasted fresh from the same morning delivery. Again when comparing relatively, my score is based upon my taste, value, and service. The place was busy so it definitely appears to have a following. Certainly not recommending against it. Also, with compressed time for lunch, it’s an important factor. They can fulfill (and appeared to efficient at it) very quickly, carry outs, deliveries, and walk-ins.

I love Alidoro, truly, it is my guilty pleasure when I am passingby it. But the pickle is really the most ridiculously small one I've seen. For almost a dollars, I'm actually disappointed. I've also got a cold Fratelli, which is supposed to be warm. What is happening here?

The sandwiches looked really good online, but the sandwich I got (La Primavera) tasted so bitter I couldn’t eat it. Also, when ordering online, the pickup time was 80min out. That’s unacceptable for a sandwich shop in midtown, where lunch time is all about getting something quick.

My mortadella, ham, parm cold sandwich was good. The cost was $25. Ok a bit much but fine I expected it. Halfway through my sandwich I realized something was missing. It could use just a little mustard. When I asked for a little bit of mustard (bc of course they were not generous with the spread or toppings) I was told I need to spend an extra 1.50 for mustard. WAKE UP ALIDORO. That’s not how you run a business where people are ordering $25 sandwiches. Have some manners. I will never willfully come back.

Hot cheesesteak sandwich. Waited 10 min smells great. My only ask was no mushrooms and swap it for hot peppers since I’m allergic. Walk all the way back to work open up and put right in the trash. $20 wasted. The cashier was super friend and nice and read it back to me confirming no mushrooms but here we are.
