Very much an old-school Italian restaurant. The waitstaff is very kind and attentive. The mussels appetizer in white wine sauce was fantastic. Loved the pink sauce that the pappardelle came with. We also had the pollo finestra which was tender and full of flavor which complemented the mushroom sauce and generous -sized artichokes. Our waiter was so sweet and we can’t wait to come back.

Finestra is often our go-to for great Italian takeout. When hosting a party for my mom’s birthday, we decided to use Finestra for catering. Simona was super helpful with the process and delivery was smooth. The food was excellent and everyone at the party asked where it was from. Thank you!

The restaurant has a cozy Italian ambiance, beautiful oil paintings on the wall. Quiet atmosphere, staff very friendly and service is excellent. The meals we chose were proper portions, entrées cooked yo perfection and the most tender meats. Highly recommend and a quick walk if you are visiting a nearby hospital.

My favorite Italian restaurant in all of NYC. If you have to go tohospital of special surgery you must try to stop here for a meal. I recommend the Pappardelle Contadin. Simply the best and really hard to find good Pappardelle.

I ordered the chicken fettuccine alfredo and it was delicious for the first time.It actually tasted homemade and cooked from scratch. It had a buttery flavor that added to the deliciousness.

Finestra on York Avenue is an absolute standout! My wife and I had lunch there and were blown away. The seafood salad was fresh, light, and bursting with flavor, and the cheesecake was pure perfection—creamy and unforgettable. Just as impressive was the service: warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever being rushed. They made us feel right at home. Between the food, atmosphere, and outstanding service, Finestra is easily one of the best dining experiences in Manhattan. We can’t wait to come back!

This restaurant was amazing, my soup was incredible and the pasta my wife got was even better and loved the autentic european bread! The staff was very nice and welcoming and made you feel cherished as a customer. This is truly a gem of a place!

Visiting NYC for a meeting and got a treat by my host. This is a gem of a place and staff is so friendly and attentive, has a cosy atmosphere. Nice wine list, we had white Sangria, Pinot Grigio and a Red. The appetizers like the clams, calamari, mussels, eggplant cannelloni were delicious and fresh, not over cooked. My risotto was tasty but I prefer more Al Dente (just personal preference) and creamy, the others had pasta and fish. Pistachio gelato was fantastic, we even got a complimentary Limoncello from the host !

I placed an order to go for my office team to go and the food was AMAZING! I felt like I was in Italy again! Once I entered the restaurant I was immediately greeted and felt welcomed. My concern was the wait time since they were busy but the order came out fast. I give them a 10 out of 10! Love local establishments that are welcoming and provide exceptional service!

What an amazing experience! The food was incredibly tasty – every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The drinks were just as impressive, with a great selection and perfect execution. But what truly made the evening special was the atmosphere: cozy, vibrant, and full of positive energy. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. I can’t wait to come back – this place is an absolute gem!

Stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant and I’m so glad I did. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the kind of place where you instantly feel at ease. The food? Absolutely delicious — fresh ingredients, thoughtful flavors, and beautifully presented. What stood out even more was the clear attention to detail and passion behind everything — from the menu to the service. It’s obvious that the owners have poured their heart into this place, and it truly shows. Their hard work and vision have created something special, and they deserve real credit for that. Great food, warm vibes, and a team that genuinely cares. Can’t wait to come back!

Oh this place! Finestra is truly a hidden gem— not in the way most people misleadingly use the term but like for real! A quaint little Restaurant on York Ave in UES that should be so packed every single service. I have never had pototo gnocchi that melted in my mouth like this one. The Gorgonzola cream sauce was perfectly balanced. It wasn’t overwhelming like so many of them. Great Chicken Parm, huge portion. But the Capellini Contadina was one of the best things I’ve had in so long!! It was so perfect. Making pasta fresh makes such a different. I would eat here everyday. The service is wonderful too, they’re very kind and attentive. Add this place to your list like ASAP!!

Everything was great, the only negative was I asked to take the rest of my soup to go and the bread and she/he pushed the bread in the same container which was so lazy & tacky. All she had to do was put the bread on top of the container. It wasn't busy at all. I wrote this because sometimes you have to think about what you're doing. Otherwise it's a great place.

Pretty decent pasta, service was decent as well. Nothing impressive except for the bread they gave out in the beginning.

Finestra Restaurant East 73rd 1st ave , if your in the area give this cute cafe a try. The calamari was light and delicious, chicken parm and pasta with marinara sauce was too acidic , sauce needs to render more for less acidity, wish chicken was thicker and not pounded too flat. Ceaser salad and grilled chicken was fresh and tasty. If your ever in the area try Finestra.

The food here is not good. I had the gnocchi with pomodoro (one of the few vegetarian options on the menu). It was luke warm and horrible. Given the quality of the food, the prices were absurd. Addendum: After my initial bad review the owner responded and said the wait staff stopped by the table twice and we told him the food was good. That is categorically not true. No one stopped by to ask how the meal was.

I ordered their “gourmet thin crust pizza” to go. I live close by so I started eating within 5 minutes of it being ready. The sauce was separated from the crust and cold to touch. I’m not convinced they didn’t (poorly) heat up a $5 Digiorno frozen pizza, call it gourmet and sell it for $25. It was actually disgusting. Really wanted to go back for like actual pasta but if this is what they call gourmet I don’t want any part of them
