GiGi Cafe New York Reviews
Large portions, delicious food -- then again, it's Chipotle, and that's how it is. The bowls are packed, and the burritos (least the ones I typically order) are full to bursting with delicious meats, beans, and toppings. And it may be that I'm a regular, but the staff are always delightfully friendly in my experience over the past...I'd reckon decade going here. It's good to make some light conversation, I think, with the people who are preparing your food; from what I've heard, the food service industry can often be very dehumanizing, so, yeah, never forget to be friendly to the people making your food!
I love this chipotle. They gave me extra peppers.
Another great Chipotle in the city. Fast moving and really only busy during the lunch rush.. even then, the service was spot on. Will be coming back for sure.
While this combination deviates from traditional burrito ingredients, here's a creative take: 1. Brown the ground beef and season with taco seasoning. 2. Toast the hamburger buns until golden. 3. Spread pickles on one side of the bun. 4. Place a layer of green beans on the other side. 5. Spoon the seasoned ground beef onto the green beans. 6. Fold the bun to form a unique "burrito." Keep in mind this is a playful twist and might not resemble a classic burrito. Enjoy experimenting with flavors!
Five stars for manager Richard who made sure I got my guac. Thank you Richard. Great service!
I want to give a big shoutout to Richard at Chipotle he’s seriously the best. Every time I come in, he’s not only super friendly but also incredibly efficient. He keeps the line moving fast without making anyone feel rushed, and he always takes the time to get your order exactly right. It’s clear he cares about the customers and takes pride in his work. You can tell the whole vibe is better when he’s on shift.
The ONLY Chipotle I love going too. Very simple and respectful people
Fast, affordable, and somehow very, consistent across the city. And with everything, from the ingredients to the taste, even the smells and textures of my preference, Now, if I had one bad thing to say it's that the packaging sucks, leaks and even the paper bags FAIL with a sneeze. I have 2 simple solutions that are potentially cost effective and easy to manufacture...
Never had a more efficient Chipotle experience. Delicious burrito too!
Came in Jan 17 at 11am and I didn’t get her name, but she was so sweet. She greet me so well she took care of my bowl. It’s so tasty. Definitely coming back again.
Hard working team and great customer service. Kind with customers.
Everything Burrito is awesome but those chips and that is guacamole is absolutely gross toooooooooooooooooooooo much salt!! Anyone who has High blood pressure or anything with pressure is bound to have a stroke!! Now I said something to the young lad at the register about it. This time I went to get guacamole and it was way to salty!! Please Please fix the problem and fall back on the SALT!! My God do your company care about things that can be very harmful to ppls health??? Please think about the ppl who have diabetes and high blood pressure!! Geesh
Quality at this chipotle was outstanding today; also the service very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend this location!
I want to give a big thank you publicly to Aries who made my evening with the incredible attention to detail and overwhelming customer service skills. She can clearly see that I needed help and didn’t hesitate to step in! The line was long and the place was crowded , but I mattered as an individual and my order was met with excellence … and a smile! Thank you very much Aries!
The best Chipotle I've ever been to. I visited 9-26-25 to got a veggie burrito and a veggie bowl and they are built the way they should be. I get my Great Dane a steak burrito and anywhere else, they are literally smaller than my palm and the size of a taco. Here, it is an actual burrito.
Fantastic gem of a find Mexican diner which do world renowned burritos and a variety of Mexican "fast food" dishes. Great value for money and super friendly, attentive, professional staff.
Richard at Chipotle is amazing – super friendly, fast, and always gets my order perfect. He makes the whole experience way better every time I come in!
This isn’t so much to do with the service people, or even taste of the food. But I legit can’t go to this spot during prime time lunch hours because they have, MULTIPLE times, shortened the quantity of food they serve. It’s insanely different portion sizes during peak and off peak. Same cost though, and SAME hunger but for some reason they decide I need less food when it’s convenient? Seems systemic issues and not specific to this one but definitely frustrating
This particular Chipotle on seventh ave is in the heart of Chelsea . The food is as expected and typical of most Chipotle’s but a little busier .I get bowls over burritos because they are easier to contain and less messy. The staff is cordial and quick so there will be a short wait time so you will be stuffing your face before you know it.
We had a good experience. I’ve been here a few times over the years and it’s good. Fresh and hot because turnover is fast. They are busy so there will likely be a line.
This was my first time trying Chipotle and I was a little disappointed. It wasn't bad, but something in my bowl was super salty and just took over the dish. Also I wasn't able to get a receipt which wasnt great when I have to expense my meals - the guy who served me when paying looked baffled by my request....
One thing's for sure, this franchise is consistent. From waiting on line, to choosing your options and paying for your order, you'll have the same experience like any other Chipotle locations. But, this location is normally very busy but has minimal seating and the space is a bit cramped. If you're going to visit this location, be prepared to stand or simply order out.
I've visited this location several times before. The service line was friendly and well-staffed, and customers moved through it quickly and efficiently. I ordered the chicken burrito. When they chose the tortilla to put in the warmer, it appeared darker in color, like wheat and thinner in texture. All of the other ingredients looked fine. When I bit into the burrito, I noticed a lack of familiar flavors. The burrito bread and its fillings were oily. If I'm hungry enough, I can finish a burrito of this size in one sitting. Today, I ate about half and chucked the rest as I was not enjoying it at all. Perhaps they changed the quality of some of their ingredients. Next time I visit, I'll order a burrito bowl.
STRANGE! It was practically empty during lunchtime. That was strange. The good part is the rice was fully cooked. I asked for chicken and steak. She incredibly put 7 pieces of chicken SEVEN pieces, then knocked a few pieces BACK INTO THE CONTAINER AS IF SAY FIVE PIECES IS ENOUGH 😮. I thought I would have shame on asking for a little more, but after that move, I politely asked for more. She added three more pieces 😮 For the steak, she added the spoon. No problem. They normally charge me around $25 (with a bottle of Izze), for this, which I don't mind paying, but I wasn't charged nearly that much. I'm SO confused! Maybe that's why it was empty when it should have had a line. The following day was going to go to another one, a few miles away, but the line was too long, and so crowded, it looked like covid waiting to happen. I have to remember not to be on the streets of New York during the school dismissal hours. Please Chipotle, don't ask me to reach out to you. When I do reach out, I'll reach out to your CEO. Thank you.
I always buy food in there for my lunch break but today was horrible. Food bad, rice sticky, bad seasoned everything was very bad and the guy who made my bowl was very rude. I’ll go back but please manager check your employees some of them doesn’t like to work in there.
Came around 9:10pm. The restaurant can do with some cleaning because the tables were very dirty and there were some things they didn’t have. Only one person was working to serve the food but it was fine overall
The food is really generous in its offering but I felt it lacked a bit of flavour.
soda machine always broken. either soda is flat, ice isn't running, or the soda is running clear. #lame
there’s a spanish girl here who rushes through the making of my bowl EVERY single time and it made me stop coming here. before i’m done saying anything she’ll hits me with the “anything else?” like relax. also small portions and the food at this chipotle is not nearly as good as most of the other locations i’ve been to.
Disappointing. I went to my first Chipotle 2 weeks ago out in Lawrence, NY and was blown away by the burrito. I was so excited to see that there was one near my job, I was severely disappointed. The burrito was a huge mess! Way too much of everything except the protein. I almost got halfway through before there was even a piece of meat. Guacamole and rice all over the place. So much so that it was just huge mushy mess. I ended up throwing it away. Just awful. I will definitely order from Chipotle again, just not this location.
They’re all rude except some of the dudes. They won’t even acknowledge you until THEY’RE ready. I try my hardest to empathize with workers because I know it is hard but there’s no reason why even the manager is rude. One time i was standing, waiting for an associate to finish so I can ask for a cover for my food and the manager asked me if I was there to pick up food. Which it’s an honest mistake but the appropriate fashion would have been “hey do you need help with anything ?” This location needs some etiquette classes. They’re always yelling like they have no sense smh. Go to the one on 23rd , there’s a huge difference, trust me. I honestly gave it 2 stars for the only 2 guys and the one black young girl who are actually friendly.
tastes fine but the portions are way too little even by Chipotle standards
I usually enjoy Chipotle, but this time I found a label sticker in my lunch. When I brought it up, the manager just said “sorry” in a very dismissive way, which made the experience even worse. I hope the team can improve both food handling and customer service — this really shouldn’t happen.
Rude team. They couldn’t care less about service.
The service here today was unacceptable! I go to Chipotle regularly, and usually, we can customize our meals. But when we went today the last time I went to chipotle you let us use apple pay but now you only except cash I don't think I can ever come back here again unless you let us pay with apple pay.l will tell everyone the information about chipotle. All of the other chipotle are better than this one😡
I have been coming here for the past couple of weeks in this heat wave and the AC is always OFF. How is it that its a restaurant, serving hot food for half of your meal and yet there’s no AC? The fountain drinks are broken, serving HOT SODA..like what ? Not in this heat smh. Every single time , i have to take my food to go. It’s ridiculous. Not to mention that whatever air they have, is aimed to the kitchen. Im assuming, afraid of the kitchen shutting down due to heat. Yeah, honestly today is the last day i will be stepping foot in here.
I wanted to order 30 bowls and the "manager" told me I had to do it online. Fine. Except the website needs 24 hours notice. There was nobody in the store at the time of my ordering and I needed it in 4 hours. He absolutely was not willing to take my order. I was shocked! There were five employees in the store doing nothing! The revenue to the store would have been $600 on a dreary rainy Saturday. I have placed this order in person before to treat my team and this manager suggested I go someplace else. I did. Gladly. If Floristela or her District Manager reach out to me, I will be happy to take this review down. If not, you have lost a very good customer and ruined the customer service reputation that you try so hard to win.
The staff are extremely rude, when I asked a question about the menu the staff replied in a super condescending manner, the food was cold and the burrito fell apart as soon as I started which made it impossible to eat, I asked for chicken and there were 5 pieces added in the whole burrito. I asked for extra sauce and even after I clarified extra cheese was added which I did not want. The restaurant was dirty, I came in at 8.30pm and was told it’s take out only as they’re closing (which is at 10pm so was still 1,5 hrs left). There were at least 3 people sleeping at the dine in tables and I was told they are employees so can stay there. Extremely unprofessional (especially Jenny) and will not be going back.
I asked for a Quesadilla and they weren’t even able to make it, they proceded to try to charge me 30 $ for one quesadilla. That’s insane and deeply dumb, worst Chipotle I’ve ever been to.
Food is wildly salted They have messed up 2 catering orders. Too salty, not ready on time, absurd portion of chicken… maybe 4 oz The managers are not kind, helpful, professional, understanding.
Rude staff. They were in the middle of closing 1.5 hours before their close time. Sofritas and sour cream was empty 1.5 hours before closing time. The African American / Spanish lady in the closing shift(10 pm) on a Monday evening was extremely disrespectful
Most disgusting chipotle I've been in. Customer service was garbage (it's nyc but even then it was exceptionally horrible). Worker acted as if she was annoyed to stop her conversation with her coworkers worker to fix my order. Barely placed enough rice in the bowl to cover the bottom. She also placed hair in the sour cream and I didn't see it until halfway through the meal. Unsanitary, disgusting, and sorry. NEGATIVE 50 STARS.
asked for a chicken bowl and got no chicken. i didn’t realize until i opened it at home. i went back to this store a few days later and asked about this and they were rude and refused to give any refund or make me another bowl.
This has to be the worst chipotle I’ve walked into. I ordered 3 hard tacos to go and was prompted that I would be unable to receive a bowl to carry it in and that I had to use aluminum foil… to carry hard tacos around manhattan?? After persistently asking for a bowl, I was then told I was gonna be charged for a bowl although I was getting hard tacos. Then after getting to my workplace, I take a bite of a completely unseasoned steak taco. I took one bite and threw the rest out. Will just walk one block further next time for some DOS TOROS.
The people here do not have a customer first attitude and the portions are tiny. Ten dollars for 6 small pieces of chicken. The service is rude and they do not listen. I asked for corn on the side 3 times and they still put it on my bowl. Don’t get me wrong, I love Chipotle, but definitely will never be coming back to this location.
I just wanted a kids meal they told me no, I got a bowl instead and afterwords I asked a different employee and they said I could have. A 5$ dollar meal versus a $16 makes a difference. Not welcoming, didnt greet me and I understand people don’t want to work, Iv been there. But to lie to my face for more money is rude especially when I’m trying to make ends meet as a student.
