Gramercy Bagels New York Reviews
I work near this place. It's my go to for breakfast or sandwiches. They have Colombe coffee. The chai is my favorite, so I'm always ordering that. The service is fast and friendly.
Really great bagel store. Probably the best bagel store you’re likely to find in the area. Friendly staff as well. Always a plus.
A busy, but extremely efficient place. Delicious and very reasonably priced bagels. Highly recommended.
Easily the best bagels I could find around Union Square. They also have some really interesting (prepackaged) drinks I haven't seen elsewhere.
I go for the bagels. Big assortment. Big bagels. I got a big belly from eating too many of them during the pandemic. Try the TooGoodToGo App for closing time specials.
One of fav place to have cranberry walnut bagel with strawberry cream cheese .Also, neat and clean place and, lovely friendly employee..10 ⭐️
Like one of the old time bagel places. Reminds me of NYC before gentrification. You can get whitefish salad, lox spread... All the good stuff.
Very good bagels and an excellent chai latte to boot! Vegan spreads available as well.
Staff very friendly and efficient. Food was hot and good. Pricing was fair also.
Fresh bagels every time I went to gramercy bagels. Friendly staff as well owner. I will definitely come back when I'm in NYC
It's a freaking Deli, good bagels OK coffee. You want good coffee go to a coffee shop, some of you people seem to be confused as to what being a Deli entails.
I just stopped in for a decaf coffee and it was outstanding. They use the espresso machine with a ground decaf. Wow 😎
These bagels were life changing. My boyfriend loves this place. Clean, efficient, and friendly. Im a somewhat VERY picky eater. The guy taking the order got it right the first time and still double, even triple checked. It was epicly delicious, even though I ate it an hour later.
First bagel in NYC for a while. Fantastic. Great service, didn’t mind me asking for recommendations. Great Pastrami.
Great place if you are in a rush, and want a solid bagel. They have many options and are very generous with the smear. Being from Jersey and having a lot of critiques about bagels. This is the one place I always recommend to co-workers and friends.
Great atmosphere and great friendly service! Also definitely a lot cleaner and more sanitary looking than some of the other delis I've seen :P Didn't know what BBQ sauce was tho lol! Anyway would definitely recommend!
Bagels were delicious and high quality, the strawberry banana smoothie was perfect as well. All fresh ingredients.
Great traditional salmon bagels, lovely people and great atmosphere! Would recommend to anyone living or passing by in NYC!
Phenomenal bagels. The garlic and herb cream cheese is so tasty and they give you a very generous portion. One bagel is definitely enough for a two meals!
We loved the bagels here. Quick service, great variety and awesome to see so many people constantly streaming into this popular bagel shop.
Love their chicken salad wrap sandwiches and decaf latte coffee. That is my lunch at least once or twice a week.
a little pricy, but i absolutely love coming here! they’re super friendly and the bagels are always great.
Great NYC bagel shop. Nothing disappointing, but also nothing exceptional Better than average service, but was a little annoyed at a sizable fee for using a credit card.
My local bagel spot, around the corner and always great.
Excellent sandwiches on bagels good service nice seating area.
Awesome spot. We popped in on a weekday morning for an espresso and two-egg bagel. Terrific, friendly service and well prepared, reasonable prices.
Gramercy bagels staff is very kind. The coffee is delicious and the bagels are so fresh. I recommend the GB Signature iced coffee!
I live in Albany, NY and called Gramercy Bagels hoping they could deliver a birthday order to my daughter. I wanted to surprise her at work, she is a nurse. Being upstate and not knowing anything about Gramercy Bagels, I was pleasantly surprised that not only did they deliver the bagels to her work, but also gave her a handwritten note wishing her a Happy Birthday from us! She was so excited to receive the note and the bagels. She said everyone at work loved them! Nice to know that a business would do this and I wanted to let them know how much I appreciated everything.
Amazing customer service, friendly staff, clean atmosphere and great music!
Visited Gramercy Bagels and was thoroughly impressed. The bagels were fresh, chewy, and packed with flavor. There’s a great variety of spreads to choose from. The staff was friendly and efficient. A top-notch spot for bagel lovers!
They have delicious bagels and the staff are really friendly!
Theres a wide variety of cream cheese and bagel types it was very good
One of the better bagel places in the neighborhood. I usually call to place the order, and then skip the line and go right to the cashier to pay and pick up my order as well as get fresh coffee when I do. I'm so glad we have an easy place like Gramercy Bagels in the neighborhood!
Awesome delicious bagels for a great price. Vegan options too! Cashier is super kind whenever I see her. Would recommend to stop by if you are in the area!
At my office, Gramercy Bagel definitely won the best bagel in NY award. It’s too good, especially with hot sauce. Personally I always have good service and I love that most of their staff has been there forever
I was just in the city from New Jersey running some errands and randomly walked in without any expectations, but it turned out to be a really great surprise. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese, and both were absolutely delicious. The sandwich was perfectly cooked, warm, and satisfying, and the jalapeño cream cheese had just the right balance of creamy and spicy. What really made the experience even better was the staff! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food came out incredibly fast, which was a pleasant surprise. I’ll definitely be stopping by again.
Bagel Variety & Freshness – They usually offer the traditional bagels like plain, everything, sesame, and cinnamon raisin, plus some creative options. The focus seems to be on high-quality, fresh-baked bagels, which is the heart of any bagel brand. So I think it’s worth trying out
This place is awesome ! Especially, everything Bagel With Vegetable Cream Cheese: There was a perfect ratio of cream cheese. The spread is blended with green peppers, yellow peppers, and red peppers . You’ll feel like you are metaphorically being transported into a vegetable garden. Definitely , it will be my go-to bagel store !
Classic NY style bagel shop with variety of cream cheese and combo. Great local bagel shop. Highly recommended~
Very good atmosphere, staff are very friendly and bagels are delicious
Terrific spot. Really good bagels. The lox was some of the best i’ve ever had. Fresh, cold, magnificent. Coffee was OK.
I like this place for their wraps. I've also had their bagels a few times and they were good with egg and cheese.
Very good whole wheat everything bagel AND garlic herb cream cheese. Okay coffee. Restroom available. Service - friendly, fast.
Solid bagel place with a variety of cream cheeses and spreads. Will definitely come back if I'm in the area
Went in for a non toasted raisin bagel with extra butter. It was delicious. Place is pricey for its location.
I didn’t give them 5 stars because the coffee is not hot , always cold warm specially after noon, is disappointing and frustrating, it should be hot at all times.
In my opinion, the staff took too long to take orders from the customers. However, the bagel I had was one of the best in the city.
This is a completely re-image bagel sandwich and fixing joint is awesome. I think there is a great opportunity for this place to have a huge impact on the neighborhood. It is both flexible and great for brunch.
Onion Bagel: 4/5. Pretty good, but not as fresh as other bagels in the city. Double Chocolate chip muffin 4/5. Pretty tasty, but go to a bakery for that kind of stuff if you want the real new york experience. Fresh squeezed orange juice 2/5: tastes like bitter medicine, and was expensive.
Decent bagels, not the best you'll ever have but no complaints. But the cooks aren't very attentive with the orders and will try to substitute things on you without telling you, then insist it's right and you're wrong. And if you're alone expect to pay cash, the card minimum is high. Good for a late brunch, outdoor seating gets good sun mid to late mornings.
Good selection, quick service. The staff people are fast-paced and no nonsense, so be ready to order and to pay. If you take to long it annoys the staff (and sometimes the customers too). Their olive tapenade cream cheese is awesome.
Love that they have so many vegan cream cheese options including tofu varieties as well as the new Stockeld Cream Cheeses. We went specifically to try the stockeld spread and loved how tangy it was! Highly recommend but do keep in mind the surcharge or cruelty free options like Stockeld and the tofu cream cheeses.
Simple and basic, but great bagel sandwiches for breakfast. I usually get the sausage, egg, and avocado combo which always works beautifully. I really like their sausage patties which are not too salty but perfect for the sandwich. Although the bagels aren’t the best in the city, they are always consistent and get the job done well.
Lovely little bagel shop - the bagels are very good, the coffee was acceptable one day, excellent another day - would have liked a bit more consistency! The eggs were just okay. The service could be better. I asked for a plain bagel, not toasted, they tried to toast it anyway. I asked for rye bread, they gave me white... Some items seem to be overly expensive, but overall pricing seems to be reasonable for the area. My daughter and I went by there several times while we were visiting Manhattan. After the first time, every morning she would say, "Can we get bagels now?" Ultimately we had an egg bagel, a pumpernickel bagel, a plain bagel, a cinnamon raisin bagel and a blueberry bagel. All of them were excellent, not the best ever, but more than good enough!
What is the point of asking if I want my bagel toasted or not if you’re just going to toast it anyway. Not the first time either. Cashier has less than desirable attitude.
All the makings of a good deli- extremely fast and attentive employees, the dining area is kept very clean, overall average joint though. Prices are a bit steep for a product that comes out tasting fairly bland; the complimentary "Red #40" Pepper Sauce packets ameliorated this somewhat.
i liked my jalapeno chream cheese sesame bagel, even though they left out the seeds for the real spicy kick you'd want. their coffee was burnt, unfortunately.
Normally on point but today the coffee was disgusting. Very very bitter. Also the breakfast sandwich was flavorless. New chef? Burn coffee? Who knows but below the standard.
The staff here were friendly, but the food was underwhelming. Originally I wanted a bagel, but the Cuban panini (personal favorite of mine) caught my eye. Unfortunately, it was about 3/4” of lukewarm deli ham that tasted like trying to bite through ham-flavored rubber between two sad pieces of bread. Honestly, if they would shave the ham properly and not lay it on in thick gross slices it’d already be much, much better. If I’m ever back I’d just try a bagel sandwich instead. Not sure if I can recommend, 3/5 experience.
I had an everything bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. There was less “everything” than I’m used to from other places and the bagel was ok. Staff was friendly and kept my bagel on the side for me while I went to the restroom. Restroom walls and floor were dirty but the rest of it was ok. I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.
Food was good. Bagels were nice and plump. However, the staff has a horrible attitude And were very nasty
I will never come to this place again. I was going in to quickly pick up an order and I had to bring my service dog in. I was yelled at and told she wasn't a service animal even though I have documentation that she in fact is. They are so rude and nasty and it is not worth the bagels. Please find somewhere else to go .
Sub par bagels for New York. No flat bagel option and the everything topping was sparse. My "toasted" bagel was barely toasted and just slightly warm. Buffalo chicken sandwich had over cooked, strange tasting chicken. There are many better options in NYC.
It really sucks that this was my first time here and I experienced a bit of discrimination. I’m a black American woman and I was all smiles going in, very soft spoken in fact. I spent $25 on a bagel and about $8 on watermelon. But I guess my money wasn’t as good as the white lady’s who walked in, ordered after me, was greeted with hospitality and wished a good day by the same people with enthusiasm! The worst part is, the workers are all Hispanic BROWN people… and even after trying to relate to them by telling them how much I enjoyed the bagel in Spanish, they continue to treat me poorly and looked at me strangely, as if I was an alien… but this IS an all white neighborhood, so maybe I am an alien. Lol
This place sucks. I got an “everything” bagel and it had literally no seasoning? Like 4 sesame seeds. Bagel was also a little too dense. Cream cheese was decent at least, but spread was not generous (see photo). Also it was $5.75 for a cream cheese bagel? Absurd. Will not be returning despite living in the neighborhood
Refused to serve me because I was there with my dog. I pointed out he is a licensed service animal & the guy turned his back and refused to take my order. Save your time, and go down the block to Pick-a-bagel. They have a dog bowl out front and won’t skimp on the cream cheese …
I was charged seven dollars for a plain bagel with cream cheese, this place is way overpriced!!
Every few months I decide to try this again, your service reminds me why I shouldn’t come back.
Terrible service and terrible small overpriced bagels. Don't go... the entire experience was the worst I've ever experienced in New York City.
Bagels suck and cashier is rude. Nut allergy cross contamination is a real risk with their dirty kitchen
Gramercy Bagels is without a question the most incompetently run bagel place I have ever encountered in my 25 years of eating bagels. We are in the middle of an order that is going on 3 hours since the original order was placed. The original order is in the hands of a delivery man that they claim is still out making drop offs that include my bagel. 2 hours in they send me a new special bagel that is free and will arrive in "10 minutes". Another 30 minutes, it is "any second now". At 1 hour, I call to discover he sent it to James in #2P not #8E... 3rd bagel is on the way. I'm not confident.
The woman that is always at the cashier and answering the phone is probably the rudest person in NYC. I called to place a lunch order and said “can you hurry up, I have a long line.” Hmmm well then maybe don’t pick up the phone. I frequented this place, probably went in at least three times per week. I’ll never go back.
I’m not paying $25 for a lox bagel and then getting only cream cheese on one side, then attitude for asking for extra cream cheese. Barely any lox either. it’s a scam
tried to give this place another chance ..but each time ..it's always a mess ...8 guys behind counter ..yet only one person register ,making coffee . so orders pile up and no one knows who order is for ...!!! pathetic ...never again..go to heavenly bagels on 2nd ave ..much better service!! I happen to be a new yorker ..not a student from midwest !!!
The bagels are good, but the service I just received when going to pick up a seamless order was so unbelievably hostile as to why I’m giving it one star. Have never experienced anything like this in all my years living in NYC and having worked in the service industry myself.
Joke of a bagel joint, not special bagels or flavors and charged $5 for a single plain bagel with cream cheese. They display lower prices ($1.50) but are flat out lying with their extra hidden fees charged for everything. Workers were extremely rude, spoke down degradingly as to humiliate me and seemed to enjoy my confusion. After, I could hear them ridiculing me in Spanish thinking I don’t understand.
Food is amazing but wayyyyy over price! if you want to spend 5 dollars on a bagel this is the place. To top it off workers looking extremely unhappy and owner (which is wife and husband) are extremely RUDE! Im sure the owners influence the vibe of the workers as you can feel the tension when walking in. The owner (husband) hung up the phone on me when I asked for an order for pick up . I confronted him while I was at the location of course he denied ever talking to me , and very much didn't even apologize for my experience. I wouldn't recommend this place .
Wow such a bad experience with a staff member. I ordered, paid with a credit card and signed, received my coffee. The employee turned his back to do something so I assumed a bagel wrapped up was mine. I took it and left, then came back when I realized the mix up. He was very rude in front of a lot of other people saying loudly why did I pick it up it wasn't mine. Um it was a mix up that could have happened to anyone given he rang me up, handed me my coffee. Why would I not assume it was mine, I was the only person who ordered and a group came in while I was waiting. Then he disgustingly made a scene and slammed it in the trash, I guess because he has no idea how to deal with customer issues. I then loudly told him he should have just called it a mistake with no attitude. He wanted to make a scene and embarrass me in front of other people. Otherwise the food is pretty good, just prepare for rude behavior if there is an issue.
I visited Gramercy Bagel this morning with my trained service animal and had an incredibly disappointing experience. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately asked to leave due to their no-pet policy. I explained that my dog is a trained service animal, complete with tags, but the staff member didn’t believe me. He even came around the counter to inspect my dog, making us both feel very uncomfortable. When I was about to leave, the same employee asked me, rather rudely, what I wanted, while another staff member stood just a few feet away, staring at us. I asked if I could help him with something further, and he just turned and walked away. The final straw? Three bagels with cream cheese and two Tropicana orange juices cost $36—definitely not worth it. Between the unprofessional and rude service and the overpriced food, I’ll never return to this place. I highly recommend that Gramercy Bagel invests in better training for their staff to handle situations involving service animals with respect and understanding. Shameful experience.
