Great Wall New York Reviews
This is a hidden gem, the food was extremely delicious and it is a must try if you come to Washington heights. The workers and owners are very welcoming and I will be a loyal customer and if you come here the spare rib tips are a must get. The food is cheap in comparison to many other chinese restaurants and they are quick and efficient with their service and food. Before i tried it the serving size was absolutely amazing (the photo is after i tried it that is why some is missing)
the food was extremely good best chinese American restaurant in washington heights it’s cheap this is my go to restaurant i ordered the white rice beef and broccoli it was AMAZING definitely coming back and definitely a hidden gem the atmosphere of this place is really home like
They have the best chicken in garlic sauce and chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce. There cheese wontons is the best. The homemade iced tea is the best in town.
Hidden gem. Good quality food for good price. The place might not look good or even service but food is damn good. Perfect for takeout . This place is my go to place for takeout.

I had read the reviews of this Asian Cusine restaurant and was curious to try this establishment for myself. My sibling was taking the Bar exam at the Armory from February 22nd to 23th and I order 3 lunch specials with my mother. I order the general tso (amaze oh how balanced it was in flavor not too saucy or not too dry) my mother order the shrimp with broccoli 😋 (she keep going on, on about how authentic the taste was and how 🤔 she was amaze by it) my sibling 😀 order the beef and broccoli (she can be a bit picky with what she eats and she ate it all) . I want to leave this great review and let the store know they did a 👍 great job and my grandfather was a 5 star chief in Chinese cuisine back in 1990s time and I will be visiting again so thank you 😊
I love this place! The food is delicious and fresh (and abundant), and the people are genuinely kind. They remember customers from visit to visit and are always friendly. Go pick up some dinner here, especially my fellow uptown A-train riders!
You know a Chinese restaurant is good when they have the old pictures above. I walked in and it was like I finally found a GOOD restaurant that makes great food. They’re so kind and tentive and the food smells GOOD. This is a rare gem thats hard to find!
Great food and open on Mondays. Wonderful owners.
My favorite Chinese food in the area. They treat you like family. The food has good presentation. Tastes as great as it smells. The prices are pretty fair and it just feels like an old school New York City chinese food spot. The wait time isn't too bad either. They have delivery you can pay with a card. Again my favorite spot.

Best Chinese food in the neighborhood, hands down. We’ve been ordering from them for 3 years and won’t order from any other Chinese places in the area. When we go away on trips and get Chinese food, we are always sad that it’s not Great Wall. Quality American-style Chinese food with decent service (it’s take-out delivery, don’t expect the employees to be super friendly and accommodating lol). If you live in the area and you’re trying to find the best Chinese food — this is it, by far. Try their General Tso’s and cheese wontons!

Food is delicious and staff is always friendly but it is a small location where there is no possibility for dine in because the seating area was converted into a storage area.

The food is great the only thing is ordering online the menu changes
Not too long ago I was raving on about how the boneless spare ribs of all the Chinese places around here where no good but there was one place that my cousin ordered and I didn't know which it was well this is the one ladies and gentlemen and it is good. It is definitely the best boneless spare rib that I've tasted in the whole Washington Heights so far. So I can imagine everything else they make should be fantastic.
I like their food. I also like that they are one of the few places in the area that will give you fortune cookies when you order takeout. I know it's silly, but fortune cookies are part of the fun of ordering Chinese.

The presentation was nice. The amount given for the price was pretty pathetic. They put a ton of sugar in their sauce. I guess that is what they use to give their food flavor. On the positive note the service was excellent. Personally would not go here again unless really had no choice. Then again, most Chinese food joints don't taste anywhere near as good as they used to back in the days

Dry pork , bland fried rice. Never ordering from here again. I checked the reviews (3.7) before I ordered which is precisely why I’m writing my review.
Very disappointed. I ordered from here a month ago on a Sunday and the food was delicious. Egg rolls, Chicken wings all freshly made. Shrimp with Broccolli and house special fried rice. Family was happy with the Sunday dinner. I ordered the same this time around on a Sunday and the food was just not the same. Shrimp with Broccoli was saturated with garlic and my stomach was bothering me, my sister got food poisoning and my mother's stomach was bothering her. The House Special Fried rice was blah weak at best. The egg rolls and chicken wings were old or just cooked in old oil. Yes I get it's fast food but it needs to be consistently good not good one time and the next it's horrible. I won't be coming back here again it's ashamed loved the food the first time around.
Honestly horrible. More expensive for less value, then the No1 Chinese Food spot right down the street. Go down the street and you’ll be much happier. The sweet and sour chicken, had less then two bites of chicken in it. All fluff. Most of the other food is undercooked and smaller portions then other Chinese food restaurants. But somehow more expensive for the same orders. Honestly ordered here by accident and regretted it badly. Glad I never had it before and won’t be having it again.
I ordered food around 9pm and called immediately after placing the order to ask if they could avoid burning/overcooking the fried wontons. the wontons arrived not only burnt but with the sauce spilled into the bag. i refunded only the wontons which were $6 only to receive a phone call 2 hours later at 11:30pm to the owner of the store starting a yelling match over the phone telling me to never order again. I had been ordering from this place for a year now and has always been a favorite of mine but after this experience, never again. according to other reviews and my own experience, its not the first or the last time their staff is rude to customers over refunds and bad food. do not order from here if you want good customer service.
This is the nastiest food. They served me leftover pork sherds over my hard fried rice and Costco buffalo style chicken frozen chicken wings. The chicken was inconsistent with one another . Then they couldn't get the sauces right Trust me for I moved back in to the neighborhood that I've lived in on 181st for 45 year. This is no food for any human being. Their store front is not welcoming any more and sadly Number 1 Chinese food restaurant and Jimmy's oro are retired. They have a huge responsibility to our neighborhood and their only intention is to gain not serve properly. I get a fresher and safer and better price down at upper west side. This Great wall is an embarrassment for such a beautiful neighborhood. For years they never pass their food inspection and last night they called me and threatened to never serve me if I didn't take down my review which they managed to do . So here is the replacement review. Do not support them your better off cooking at home. Zero stars
I ordered food through Grubhub and wrote for the delivery person to call me when your out front. They then charged me $5.70 for "special instructions requestPolicy. That has never happened before, this is a horrible hidden/b.s. policy.
When you order a lunch special from any other Chinese restaurant he always give you pork fried rice with your lunch special or any dish that you order unless you request different Great Wall Chinese restaurant is so petty they don't put fried rice you have to pay extra for it they just give you plain fried rice that is very petty for a a store to do to their customers who's been giving them business for years. Prices are expensive and they can't afford to put pork that is very very petty.
