Hold Fast New York Reviews
Wonderful little bar in Restaurant Row on 46th in NYC. First time here. Enjoyed the Deviled Egg appetizer, Chicken and Rice Soup, and the Fish and Chips. Everything was absolutely delicious. No complaints whatsoever. Excellent service.
My wife and I stopped to grab a bite while waiting for our show. The owner, Jason, greeted us and seated us at the bar. He is such a nice guy. The three of us talked for almost two hours. After paying the bill, Jason walked over and gave me a HOLD FAST hat. Places like this aren't at every corner. Oh, and the food was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We had the BEST brunch at Holdfast in Hell’s Kitchen! Cozy atmosphere, great music, delicious food, and the bottomless mimosas were perfection. But what really made the experience unforgettable was the service — Liam, Will, and Phoebe took incredible care of us. They were warm, engaging, and genuinely made us feel welcomed. It’s rare to find servers who elevate a meal this much. Highly, highly recommend!
Great little find! We were staying at the nearby Riu Plaza Hotel and discovered Hold Fast on our first night. We sat in the small decked area on the street outside and it was a great atmosphere, we were made to feel really welcome by the server. We went back multiple times during our week in New York, mainly for drinks, of which they had a large selection to pick from! We also tried their sweet potato fries with dips which were to die for!
I just left here and I must say 10/10! I searched maps for a spot that’s still open with a late night menu- that wasn’t a diner. With the entire menu at my disposal I got there round 12:55 ordered the bone marrow with fries; and a Cobb salad to go. Haven’t had the salad yet, but I can tell you it was made with love. The fries and bone marrow as well and it was very tasty! Try the bone marrow! Comes with plenty bread that is buttery and soft (I hate hard edges) and is prepared Asian style! I will be coming back here.
My husband and I went this Hold Fast on a Sunday night following the NYC Half marathon. We booked a reservation earlier in the day to be sure we could get in and I’m glad we did. It was pretty full by the time we left. We started with the deviled eggs…delicious and beautiful! We saw tons of people ordering these, so it’s certainly not a secret how good they are. Then we ordered two tacos - fish and steak. Both very good. The steak taco came with their in-house guacamole, which was amazing! We also really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and beets. Yum! Our waiter was fantastic. The vibe was chill and the music selection was great - Interpol, Smashing Pumpkins, Florence and the Machine, etc. Definitely check this place out. There are a ton of options on this block, but you won’t be disappointed with this spot.
Hold Fast on 46th Street in NY exceeded all expectations during our recent visit. The atmosphere was simply delightful, striking the perfect balance between cozy and vibrant. Our party of four was warmly welcomed and seated promptly, thanks to the attentive staff. Our experience was made exceptional by our waiter, Scott, whose friendliness and engaging conversation made us feel like part of the Hold Fast family. He guided us through the menu with expert recommendations, ensuring each dish surpassed our expectations. Hold Fast prides itself on being an inclusive business that welcomes everyone, which was evident in the warm and inviting atmosphere. From the first sip of our cocktails to the last bite of dessert, every aspect of our meal was executed flawlessly. Hold Fast is more than just a restaurant; it's an experience that I cannot wait to repeat. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience in NYC.
If you're looking for a great bar/restaurant with good food and great service in Hell's Kitchen, New York, this place is definitely worth checking out. During my visit, the food was good, and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was also nice, and the outdoor seating was a great addition. While I can't speak to the consistency of the food and service, my experience was positive, and I would recommend giving it a try. It's a great spot to enjoy a meal and drinks with friends or family, and the outdoor seating is a nice touch, especially on a beautiful day.
We are visiting New York City. We walked down restaurant row to grab some lunch on our way back to the apartment and stopped at this place. Service was fabulous and the food was delicious. I ordered shrimp ceviche as an appetizer. My daughter and I got the roasted cauliflower salad. So good! My niece’s hamburger was cooked medium rare, just like she ordered. I would recommend this place to anyone and I’d definitely come back. The only thing that makes me sad is that the brunch menu looks delicious but is only served Saturday and Sunday..and sadly, we leave before then.
We had such a great Friday night here! The classy decor and welcoming ambience were as charming as the drinks and the food. Three of us ordered 9 different drinks and 2 food plates. Not a big fan of meat & cheese board (a bit pricey tbh), but fries with pulled pork was heaven. Many drinks blew our minds: Social Distance, Kiki, Honeydew Bourbon, Pineapple Rum, Mule, and I forgot my last drink but it was citrus vodka. Their drinks have very funky names, just like what you feel in the bar. 3 hours spent here was well worth it. It became quite noisy and we sometimes had to shout to each other, but we still loved it nonetheless. We were served by 4 different gentlemen and they were all very hospitable and attentive. $180 before tax for 3.
I had Broadway tickets and needed to grab a bite to eat before the show. This place came recommended off a YouTube channel as a great casual pre-show meal. Thankfully, it definitely didn't disappoint. The vibe follows your typical bar with the added bonus of signed Broadway posters (4/5)(extra point added for clean bathrooms). Since I didn't make reservations and there were no available tables, I grabbed a seat at the bar. The entire staff seemed busy, but the bartender still provided good service (3/5). I think the star of experience was the food. I got the Chicken Sandwich with fries (5/5), and shared a plate of chips and guac (5/5). Both were exceptional bar fare. If you're looking for a casual quick bite to eat, I would recommend.
Solid spot for diner in an area that feels flooded for mediocre options targeted at tourists. Kid friendly menu for picky eaters with some real gems like the bone marrow. The meat and cheese board had a great selection with known high quality cheeses, it was well worth the price. Good cocktail list, low frills with a lot of creative options.
Really did a good decision by booking a table for brunch last Saturday. Alaysia took great care of us right from the beginning and seated our friend ahead of us in a pretty good table. There's obviously so many brunch places here and this one definitely meets the criteria for delicious food, fantastic vibe and music, and warm and attentive service. I think the owner himself also personally checked on us a few times even wanting to move our table if we thought we needed more space. Thank you for that! Doesn't go unnoticed! Now the food! Three of us all went for Chicken and Waffles and it was as good as it looked on the pictures and the reason why we went here tbh. My husband went for the breakfast bacon and cheese burger and he liked it as well. We also went for the 90 min bottomless drink option for & $25 each and I loved that they were always checking if we wanted a refill etc. My friends also enjoyed switching between mimosas, bellinis, and bloody marys. Honestly such an awesome deal. We were also given a compliment round of shots, they'll said just because we were awesome. Awww! Thanks guys, the feeling is pretty mutual! Can't wait to come back and hopefully soon! :)
