Izakaya NoMad New York Reviews
One of my favorite Japanese Restaurants, wish they were open later but the selection of Izakaya Yakitori and Sushi & Sashimi Japanese home style cooking is top notch ! Sake selection on point. Must have All Yakitori, Tako Taro Salad, Hama Kama, Hamachi + Maki Rolls as well as Hot Pots + Ramen. Prices are reasonably and affordable doesn't break the bank. Must have list! Arigato !
Excellent food. Super fresh. Service is good. Cosy atmosphere. Very good spot for Japanese food. The wooden benches are a bit uncomfortable after a while but I guess the place is not intended for lengthy dinners. Unwound definitely return.
I came here for dinner with friends and we all enjoyed it! The interior of the restaurant is cozy and we got a booth seating. Service was fairly quick, and staff was friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes: the cucumbers, kaisendons (the mini and uni ones), the squid, the chicken and meat assortments, chicken karaage, and okonomiyaki. Everything was delicious. My friends loved their cucumbers and mini kaisendon, while I loved their squid and uni kaisendon. The skewers were delicious and juicy, and I highly recommend trying their assortments. Definitely one of my favorite izakayas in the city, so far.
Izayaki Nomad is located in the bustling Flatiron Plaza at Courthouse Square, a popular spot known for hosting activities year-round. The skyline here is stunning, featuring a mix of new and historic architecture. Nomad’s menu is inspired by Korean flavors, offering bold and distinctive dishes. The happy hour drink prices are a highlight, with tall draft beers available for just $5. The izakaya-style dishes are served in tapas portions, providing a variety of options to choose from. The grilled BBQ is a classic favorite, and the rolls are hearty and satisfying. However, the okonomiyaki may fall short of expectations. Traditionally a versatile dish where a mix of ingredients creates a medley of flavors, here it resembles a thin Korean or Chinese pancake topped with shredded dried fish. Overall, Izayaki Nomad is a mid-range restaurant perfect for a relaxed night out with friends.
I visited Izakaya NoMad last month while in NYC, and the food was incredible. I loved it so much that I went there three times during my two-week stay! The restaurant has a sophisticated décor, and the servers were always friendly and attentive. I tried many dishes, and I highly recommend their signature items. My personal favorites were the chicken meatballs, beef ribs, and Nomad Sashimi. My sister liked Teriyaki Ika, squid a lot. Each dish was flavorful and perfectly prepared. I also couldn't get enough of the Orion draft beer, which they serve in a frozen glass—it was simply heavenly and left me craving more.
Today has been a terrible day for us and our birthday lady since we all booked ticket to watch sleep no more, but the show canceled on us last minute while we were waiting in line to get in. We made no reservations at the restaurant and the great host let us in to celebrate our friend’s bday. It totally brightened our days! The food, definitely on point! The drink was amazing! Definitely 10 out of 10!!!
I went with my friend for dinner on a weekday night (I’d recommend making a reservation because it’s quite popular:)) two of us ordered Okonomiyaki, signature chicken meatballs, beef tongue, chicken cartilage, chicken liver, chicken skin, shiitake mushroom, and shishito! Their skewers are so perfectly cooked and flavorful. Please prep your stomach for it😍 the interior and service are also really nice:)
This place hit the spot. I highly recommend just sharing skewers and ordering as much a possible. I think the best was between the oyster mushrooms (they taste better than the beef) and enoki wrapped in bacon. Chicken skin was super crispy. Beef tongue was thinly sliced with a lot of flavor. The oden hot pot was also extremely umami heavy with the shrimp stock and different fish cakes. I felt this happy fullness that only comes from clean Japanese cooking.
Wonderful time! We’re very appreciated for the service here. The food was good and nice saga. We’re very hungry from working all daylong. We enjoy and take it easy here, no big and heavy food today. We going to have a wonderful ice cream next door. Come in and try it out.
Me and my friends went to a nearby restaurant and the food (appetizers) wasn’t good, so we left without order entrees. We hopped in to this joint on the same block and thankfully, also glad that they had a table available for us. Good vibe, friendly staffs and good Yakitori. We couldn’t be happier after the 1st place. We didn’t order much here since we ate a little before, but would definitely come back for a full meal experience. Thank you Izakaya Nomad for saving our night :)
My partner asked me what I wanted for dinner on Friday night, and I was craving Japanese food. This spot came to mind right away, I remembered they had a lot of great options and the food was always solid. But this time, I was a bit disappointed. Why? Because they’ve cut down the menu a lot, and many of the dishes I used to love are no longer available. I get it times are tough and it seems like they’re in survival mode with the economy the way it is. That said, the food is still good, but I’m not sure if I’ll come back. Still debating with myself on that one.
