Lady Chow Kitchen New York Reviews
Such a local hidden gem!! There’s this chicken dish with shrimp inside, and another pork belly dish with salted egg yolk.
Had dinner with my friends. Very yummy!
Ended up finding Lady Chow by accident when our previous dinner plans fell through, and we are so happy they did. We were able to sit very quickly because it was just two of us and we got our order in within 15 minutes of sitting. The restaurant feels homey and the food is cooked with care and experience. The 5 spice duck and the ginger chicken were moist and flavorful and the shrimp dumplings are well worth the wait.
Compared to many restaurants in New York that look fancy but serve small portions at high prices, this place is truly a gem! The food is incredibly delicious and reasonably priced. Although it’s just a small and simple-looking spot, you can really feel the honesty and sincerity of the owners. Nothing flashy — just authentic, down-to-earth dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back often. Highly recommended!
Visiting from London and was desperate to find a Chinatown comparison. This did not disappoint at all ! As you can see, great portion sizes with the quality to match the char siu was tender and perfect flavour. The dim sum was delightful. The beef ho fun has a brilliant wok hei. It is also great value !!
Tons of choices, everything looks delicious. We ordered chicken Shiu Mai, beef and bitter squash dumplings, chicken with sticky rice in lettuce leaf and the chicken Chow Mein. The bitter squash is indeed bitter, but everything was so excellent, came rather quickly. Service was very kind and welcoming.
Hands-down, without a doubt, some of the best Chinese food I have ever had!! There are so many items to choose from, and no matter what I decided on I was thoroughly satisfied!! The portion sizes are great and packed full of flavor. You can tell it is truly authentic cooking. Everyone is super sweet and you get a homey feeling when you walk in 🫶🏻
What a fun and tasty Monday lunch treat. The food was so fresh and sizzling from the kitchen. The freshness was so apparent it was a high point. The shrimp shu mai was a sweet taste of the ocean with a sweetness and saltiness. Light and so tasteful. Every dish was amazing. I highly recommend a meal here. Authentic to the very service.
The food portions are average and the taste is just normal, but the pricing is definitely on the higher side. Only at checkout did we find there’s a minimum 15% service fee,yet the service was just basic order-taking,tea,and bring dishes. Service fees are subjective— if you feel it’s worth it,then go for it😂,but considering how many great options there are around Chinatown, this place feel less worth exploring.
A very UNPLEASANT visit. The server gave us a wrong dish and refused to refund, giving the reason that “you have tasted it (the dish we didn’t ask for)🥢”. However, the fact is - we ordered the Chencun flour 陈村粉 but they served the Chow Fun 某种炒粉. We never had Chencun flour before (it’s quite rare to see) so didn’t immediately realize they gave the wrong dish, but when we found, they refused to refund it. This is the most ridiculous thing that I’ve heard of. You never admit/apologize for the mistake and why I should pay for a dish that I never asked for?
