Milu New York Reviews
Very nice crispy chicken with chilli rice. It’s a good portion size for an adequate price. Only thing I would suggest is more crispy chilli (it’s the name of the dish).
This was just delicious for fast casual food! Great portion of food, delicious as can be. We had the shredded beef bowl — would get it again.
This is a great spot for casual, fast dining in the city. I chose the make your own bowl: duck fat rice, crispy chicken, marinated cucumbers and kale salad. Also got the egg tart soft serve which was interesting! The staff was super friendly and service was super quick. The place was sparkling clean and spacious too!
One of my absolute favorite spots in NYC! The Chili Crisp Chicken Bowl is beyond delicious—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with the tofu seaweed salad and scallion mayo. Everything tastes super fresh and made with care. I could honestly eat here every day! Plus, the staff at the counter are incredibly kind and welcoming.
My coworker gets lunch here like twice a week and it looked rlly good so I finally decided to go. Actually pretty good but priceyyyy for lunch Got the Yunnan Brisket Bowl which came with rice, salad, and marinated cucumbers. Brisket was HEATTTT that was so freaking good and also crispy which I didn’t expect but really appreciated. Y’all the sauce on this brisket is so beautiful its a little sweet very garlicky, had a bit of a citrus flavor with some light heat. Cucumbers were pretty good and salad was fine. It’s friday idfc i got dessert ok so i got their vanilla pineapple bun which was scrumptious. Also a milk tea which tbh was kinda watery so that wasnt worth it. Couldve got another bun instead whatever… So ya overall i really enjoyed my meal
I had the seasonal shrimp bowl. Everything was great and flavorful and nutritious!! Exactly what I wanted for lunch. I imagine it gets busy on weekdays but it was very slow on Saturday at lunch time. Plus we got to try the salted egg fries which are only on weeknights and during the weekend. The value for the money is amazing here and hard to find in the city. Highly recommend you try it!
The service was outstanding, especially for a casual dining spot. The dishes aimed for a fusion style while still maintaining authentic flavors. We couldn't decide between the brisket and the chili crispy chicken, so we ordered the brisket as the entree with a generous portion of the chicken as a side. The brisket was incredibly tender! I wish they would open another location on the west side.
Milu is a pretty unique spot for fast and casual Chinese food. They have a good mix of classic dishes with a modern twist. It's a self service type of restaurant where you order up front and you get to sit anywhere you want. The place is so cute and the tables and seating actually look so comfortable. Milu is right by my office, so I decided to grab lunch to go. I ordered ahead on their website and the staff was actually very punctual with the pickup time, which is a huge plus during the lunch rush hour. I went with the Chili Crisp Chicken bowl for the day. The portion doesn't look huge for the price, but it was actually quite filling. The chicken was fried nice, crispy, and wasn't really that spicy. The chicken with the scallion mayo on the side is such a great pairing. There were tons of fresh veggies and the tofu seaweed salad was so refreshing to mix with everything. I don't know why it took me this long to try Milu, but it is now on my list of quick office lunches.
A fast casual restaurant that is much better than many serious sit downs. Let’s start with the food. A focused selection that was each unique in its own right and absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection, each ingredient in the dish has its unique qualities but balanced well with the overall theme. Although the service was self-service the staff keeps the venue clean and is quick to clear tables, and is generous enough to make sure you have everything you need. The prices reasonable and you’ll be full walking out. This is a restaurant I can see myself eating at 3 days a week for lunch or dinner. Overall, I was shocked at how amazing this place is. Even the canned wine was good! I hope that as they expand, they continue to keep the high quality.
Love this place. Interesting Chinese cooking, nice atmosphere, attentive service. Fantastic pantry to buy sauces. I’m obsessed with cauliflower dish with tofu seaweed salad. Since I’m vegan, I can only eat this but my friends loved their duck as well. High quality and well priced. I love how they serve food. Definitely coming back soon.
Lovely southern style Chinese food and great fast casual spot for gathering with friends or a quick meal alone. The dishes all tasted a bit sweet with the sauces. My favorite was the cauliflower and also the tofu seaweed salad among the family style option of 5 dishes. The watercress salad was also nice and refreshing. The cucumber was too sweet. Also liked the mushroom and cauliflower wanton although the texture and size are more like dumplings. The pineapple bun was nice crispy and light.
A very clean and calm vibe Chinese spot. I ordered Mandarin duck that had crispy outside with side of Hoisin sauce, marinated cucumbers and duck fat rice. Wasn’t the biggest fan of duck but food was still good. I would be open to trying the Yunnan Brisket or Ginger scallion Salmon next time. Clean bathrooms for anyone stopping by. Great location right on busy Park Ave South and most bowls range from $14-$20
Very good fast casual Chinese place. Decent portion sizes with great flavors. I recommend the crispy duck. The pineapple buns we're also amazing with delicious filling. Egg tart soft serve has a mild and delicate flavor that's still obviously egg tarts. Why 4 stars? The wings were a huge miss. Flavor wise, it's not proper Sichuan due to barely noticeable numbing spice. It also feels double battered but in a bad way because the crust is too think and hard. Finally, the wings were too salty and over brined. Way too heavy of a dish.
This place is definitely nothing to rave about. The bowl I got was solid. Not mind blowing, but by no means bad. I also got the charred broccoli which was disappointing to say the least. Broccoli lacks any seasoning other than maybe a drop of lemon juice. The broccoli was also looked ghastly and was far from “Charred”.
Cute place with good service but food was extremely mediocre. I’m not sure how I’d describe this place - maybe fancier fusion Chinese food? We went for Saturday brunch so they had the dim sum menu. Turnip tots were the best thing on the table and the siumais were ok as well. Everything else was not to our liking - however, this may be a personal preference. The bowl (lotus root + crispy chicken) that we got is more like their normal food, and it felt like a prettier and Chinese version of chipotle. I’m sure some people will like the fusion-y taste but we will not be coming back again.
