M.J. Smith's New York Reviews
It was a girl night out and my friend took me here. MJ Smith is one of her favorite bars. We actually went to eat at another place before, but we just wanted one more drink (but you know it wasn't just one) We got cosmopolitan- very good and some beef sandwich. Bartender was super nice and friendly. We ended up went back home four hours later than our plan.
Great Irish Pub. Atmosphere is awesome and the staff is super friendly. Love the food and drinks.
M J Smith's is a hidden gem in New York. It's got a very Irish pubby feel with alcohol that doesnt break your bank. The wait staff is professional and friendly. The wait time is quick and the alcohol is tasty. They have a wide variety to boot and there's a lot of space. Price is better than most of the inner city.A must see in New York.
Sioban, was great for my service. The cuisine was excellent. I had the parmisan chicken and bacon white bean medley. Completely delicious! The gin and tonics were great. Would visit again!
Nice bar. Can normally find a seat.

Bartender is the best! Incredible guy!
This restaurant justifies its pricing through quality. The kitchen maintained good timing. The menu diversity, reasonable costs and outstanding service create a great experience. Workers were truly accommodating. The food here is exceptional!
A true NY bar. Staff exceptionally friendly and personable. The Buffalo wings were exceptional, the chicken quesadilla was huge and very tasty, the beef nachos were delisicious. MJ lager on draft was very tasty and wife loved her Cosmo. Will return many times. Thanks Marissa and crew.
5 stars for staff, service and beer. We were probably to blame for food. Should have a tried something more home made from the menu.
I went randomly there today. The food was good, the waiters were good, the time we waited the food was good, the atmosphere was good, the prices were good. I will go definitely there again!!!

Reasonable prices, great food. Very friendly bar staff. Nice place to pop on off of 5th Ave
Had the chicken quesadilla and the Brussel Sprouts. Both were perfect to share. Both were delicious.
LOVE this place. Discovered it recently and have been back twice a week. Burgers are amazing, fresh hand cut fries which you almost never see anymore. Had the fish and chips tonight and the portion of fish was incredible. Service always top notch and reasonable pricing, especially for the quality and quality. This will remain a go-to much/happy hour/ dinner spot!
I was there for a quick bite on an off time of the day. I ate at the bar. The bartender Michael K was excellent and very nice (the owner? ) and it was the BEST black bean burger I ever had. Plus the Guinness was great!

Great Irish bar with good bar food options and delicious pours of Guiness. Not too crowded, not loud, and a bartender with a thick Irish accent. Perfect!
Good service , strong drinks & good food, come by and have a lot🍺🍸🍸🥂🍻🍾🐥🐣🍗🐔🐓

Went for boomers July dance party, 6:30-10:30pm. $20 p/p admission, music from 50's-80's, mix of pop, Latin, disco, R&B. Age range 40+, mostly seniors. Nice crowd, everyone dances a lot, friendly crowd.

Cool low key Irish pub near Grand Central right off of 5th Ave. Stopped in on early Saturday evening so wasn't crowded at all. Service was good and talkative bar tender. Unfortunately the food was meh average at best. The $18 Angus burger just wasn't hitting it, would have rather spent less at a Shake Shack near by. So close to $40 for just an appetizer and a burger, more like a tourist trap and definitely can find better food in the area at this price point. Sorry MJ Smith, won't be seeing me again.

The food was fine for the price, but the service was extremely slow and the bartender was outright hostile. He also charged $15 for a house red during happy hour that should have been $10. So many better options in NYC - it's worth avoiding this one.
