Moonstruck Eatery New York Reviews
Good diner! Service is very friendly and quick. Portions are big and price is right! Delicious lentil soup
Small but great diner experience. The three times I’ve been here now, the BF has had the gyro twice and Caesar salad with chicken, I’ve had one of the veggie omelettes and the salmon burger, twice. He enjoyed both. I liked the omelette a lot and love the salmon burger. Their raspberry lemonade is amazing. Same guy has been our waiter each time and he’s very friendly and accommodating. The desserts look amazing but we haven’t tried them yet.
At first I was skeptical, but after... I've had a great experience. It's a cute clean place. The down fall of it tho is that the bathroom was entirely too small and smelled funny, but other than that everything was great. Their rice pudding was to die for. I will return in the near future.🙂
I'm so glad I came here on a whim! Service is quick, food came out even quicker and BIG portions! Sweet potato fries were super crispy and cut just right thickness that it wasn't soggy or overly crispy. Salad, super fresh and the beef gyro was piping hot and so flavorful. I'm coming back next time I'm in the area. Restaurant and restrooms were super clean. Highly recommend!
This is a cute little diner with interesting decor. The food was great, I loved the steak and eggs I ordered and my friend loved the eggs and avocado toast plate he ordered. Service was decent, though it took a while to get our check. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because of the lack of cleanliness, they must not have properly cleaned the tables before seating because I got syrup on me when we first sat down. Overall, though, it was a positive experience.
Great Place for Brunch We did our laundry nearby and so dropped by Moonstruck Eatery for brunch. It was a good decision. The French Toast was absolutely delicious! Really really good. The best French Toast I've had. The Ham, Egg, and Cheese sandwich was good too. Prices were reasonable. Service was pretty okay. What's not to like :)
My wife and I and a friend who recommended this diner arrived for lunch. I always love breakfast for lunch or dinner ordered a pancakes and bacon and coffee. The pancakes was dry and the bacon overcooked. When I needed coffee refill I had to get up and walk to the front counter to ask the male employee for a refill. I'm not sure if this diner is named after the movie moonstruck which was a great movie. But if it is they should capitalize on the greatness of that movie by putting up pictures of the movie bits. It was lunch time and light outside but they were saving energy because it was dark inside dim lighting.
I have been coming here for years until today - there is usually only one waiter so when it gets busy (12-230pm) it gets tough to be in & out on time. I’ve had a lot of different options off the menu from breakfast-lunch-dinner and I always enjoyed the soup until I had what looked like a fruit fly in my bowl today. I wouldn’t have mentioned it if my next order wasn’t messed up as well. I am allergic to tomatoes so I specifically asked for a Buffalo Chicken sandwich with NO TOMATOES - I read on the menu it comes with that so I’m not sure why people in the food industry wouldn’t take people’s allergies serious enough. I did not have enough time to wait for another dish (I knew after the fly incident what to expect) so I had to pick apart my sandwich and only eat the chicken that hopefully had not touched the tomatoes. $22 for this was not worth it. & sad to say I will not be visiting this place again.
Made a reservation online via Google assistant and did not have to wait on a Saturday at 11. Their coffee was just okay but their service was attentive to get our orders and food came decently fast. My sister did not enjoy the chicken soup bc it tasted really sour/tasted off and stopped eating it 2 bites in. I ordered the breakfast wrap which did not have much flavor! I ordered the fries well done and they had three perfect crunch and saltiness! My friends really enjoyed their breakfast sandwiches!
Ordered the Steak and eggs with waffle fries. Menu states 10 oz steak, however mine was easily less than 8 oz, closer to 6 oz. Ordered medium & got well done, and it was a skirt steak. Maybe one egg was used, as it was hidden under the waffle fries. Only one gentleman was working, the other was just cleaning & helping a bit with some orders.
If I could give this place zero stars then I would. I’ve been a very long time customer for over 8 years. I’ve supported this restaurant through the pandemic. Today I went in for lunch and it being a holiday (July 4th) it wasn’t busy. I ordered Salmon sautéed in olive oil and garlic only cooked “medium rare” and no salt and no pepper along with sautéed spinach in olive oil and garlic only. I was very clear with both the owner when I walked in and the waiter who submitted my order to the kitchen. I also explained that I’m on a strict diet as I just had a poor report from my physician. The salmon came out well done with no garlic and a ton of salt and pepper on it when I indicated no salt or pepper. When I brought this to owner’s attention, he was very rude telling me that the waiter should’ve told the cook directly. Obviously this was not my fault as again I indicated my special requests twice when ordering. The owner then proceeded to tell me that it’s very expensive and he will not correct it and make me a new entree. He the told me to go elsewhere and leave. This is no way to treat a customer or even another human being for that sake. The fact that they cannot follow simple directions and own up to correcting their mistake is unacceptable. The owner is ungrateful and his food is subpar. There are plenty of other diners in the area with much better tasting and higher quality food. Also, their portions are small. Do yourself a favor and save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere to dine.
They have dine in with Covid vaccine proof so that's a plus, they have booths that fit 1-2 people and 4 seat dining tables and the server was nice, that's about all the pros. There was a fly in here and as I currently look down at my turkey burger and sweet potato fries all I can think about is how bland the food was. I dont know what happened to the seasoning and I had very little faith they would do it properly if asked so used the salt, pepper and ketchup on the table. Managed to eat 2/3 of the burger, hardly made a dent on the fries, they give you a lot which would of been great if tasted better. Couldn't force anymore down, so taking a L with this lunch. Really wanted to try their desserts but I'm afraid it's just as bland so didnt give it a try and this fly is giving me trust issues. Maybe their other menu items taste better cause I see 5 star reviews, i guess it depends on your taste buds. An older gentleman seems to be enjoying the food behind me so to each their own. But for me it's a no, even $11 is a lot if the food comes out tasting as bland as paper and a fly you constantly have to swat away. Only salvation was the tap water, wouldve hated paying more for a drink. Correction: Not $11, I just got my receipt and he's charging me $18.51 so they are literally charging every item on your plate. The burger itself is $11 and the fries are $6, overpriced and under seasoned. On top of that he asked what side I wanted, I had assumed it was a side that came with it with the way he worded it, fine, simple misunderstanding but atleast season the food if you charging so much. The price is slapping my face with how unsatisfy I am with this dinner.
