I LOVE the : "lunch buffet" it's a HOT 🔥 table, from 11 or 11:30 am to 1pm, serve Yourself! Sold by the pound (or portions lesser than a pound!) Take out OR eat in (3-4 tables. 4th or 5th table accommodates 3-4 pp. Fan tastic "working people prices!" Lunch special MAY INCLUDE a soda! Hurry! Don't wait in line. SERVE YOUR SELF!

This place is great, even better when you go late at night for a nice midnight snack. Order authentic Chinese dishes - not your Americanized "General Tso's Chicken" or "Garlic Broccoli" or "BBQ Spare Ribs". Go do your research and order some actual Chinese dishes. They actually make it good. Stop complaining when your American dish comes out bad.

Neighborhood “no frills” Chinese stop. Meats come from the freezer, but veggies are fresh, food is affordable, staff is friendly, and they’re open late. I usually get the chicken skewers which are a step up in quality of meat, some veggies, and the Singapore style mei fun is great. They have a lunch buffet which is alarmingly cheap. place is frequented by locals and folks grabbing a quick bite “to go” for lunch or on the way home or dinner.

I'm an UWS native. This is really good, delicious, consistent Chinese food. I've ordered take out at least 15 times and ate in the place twice. Food is always hot and well prepared. Other Chinese places in the neighborhood are not as good IMHO. Ok, so maybe the social skills are lacking a bit but they're very friendly if you're nice (except on the phone, that won't happen lol). I love the food at New Asia.

Woke up hungry so I decided to order online for pick up. Always seems like affordable meals close to home cooked meals are Chinese food. Got a green curry vegetable meal which came with rice & probably soup. Ate half of the meal, saved half for the morning, & passed out for the rest of what’s left of the evening in Ny, Ny.

New Asia is certainly not the best Chinese food that the Upper West Side has to offer, but they are great when you need something quick (they are super-fast), or when you can't afford to spend $20 on a plate of chicken and broccoli. Whether the food is good or bad depends on what you order. The Kung Pao Shrimp dinner special is my favorite (they sometimes use fresh - not frozen - shrimp for this one dish, IDK why, and BTW, all of their shrimp is always cleaned/deveined, IDK what that other person was talking about). General Tso's Chicken dinner special is my second favorite. Sesame chicken is OK, especially considering the price. Probably anything with vegetables in brown or garlic sauce, especially as a dinner special (when it comes with fried rice) is a safe bet. I like the Beef with Mushrooms or Mixed Vegetables. The soups are good. Oh, and the Singapore Mei Fun is good, Sweet and sour shrimp are awful (literally 75% breading), and I'm guessing the sweet & sour chicken is the same. Sesame noodles are the #2 worst I've ever had, second only to that place that put cilantro on them for some reason. My husband said the shrimp with lobster sauce was bad too. Lo mein is kinda greasy. Once you find a few dishes that you like, New Asia becomes a great "every day" spot. It's nothing fancy, but the food is cheap (not because the quality is bad, but just because they load you up on the cheaper vegetables like bok choy and green pepper, and give you smaller portions than most places). It's also a great spot if you hate leftovers: you will pay a lot less and receive a smaller portion that won't go to waste. They have some seating inside, but there is no table service. If you dine in, it's fast food style: order at the counter, then seat and serve yourself. So don't like, try to bring a date here on a Friday night. They will not be impressed. It's really just a to-go place.

Had a lunch delivery recently. All the orders came accurate, quick, and the portions were generous. The packaging was a bit sloppy--like with leaked soups and flying rices but it was a manageable level.

4 stars because this place almost always shines when it comes to fast delicious food. Tonight, well, tonight was an exception to the rule. I usually go up to 93rd and Amsterdam and eat in the restaurant. For lunch they have a Hot, delicious and well represented buffet type lunch. One of the few buffet lines left in Manhattan and it's all fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced. I recommend eating at the restaurant. Tonight I had delivery. It came exactly on time and the order was correct. It's just that the food was luke warm. Very disappointing and I was totally taken back. I go to New Asia at least weekly. I've ordered the same items in the restaurant that I ordered delivered tonight. and the difference is that the the food was hot and delicious if you eat it right out of the kitchen.

I ordered Broccoli with straw mushrooms and first they were not straw mushrooms and they regular mushrooms were hardly any. Was disappointed. It was freshly prepared but no flavor and not worth the effort.

Friendly, courteous service. It's a small place with fairly clean tables, but the chairs are falling apart. I had vegetable chow mein, which was okay but not great. The prices were good for the neighborhood. They also have a small selection of Thai and Japanese food, if you're adventurous enough to try it.

Order via seamless app. Got it quickly enough. Shrimp eggroll & wonton soup were Ok, but the lobster souce dish was horrible. Very disappionting.

I ordered the cheese wontons (crab Rangoon ) and large fries. It came fairly quick but it was not fresh at all. I’ve been eating cheese wontons my whole life and never had any experience like I did yesterday. The wontons were old. The inside was discolored and there was barely anything inside. The taste was horrible. The French fries came warm but they were soggy to the point when I tried to mix it with the sauce on top they were falling apart. They tasted like you ordered fresh food and saved it and reheated it the next day except they should’ve been fresh and tasted like they were halfway cooked. When having it delivered I paid for the food and instead of giving me my change the delivery man asked how much do I want back. Overall ordering here was a bad choice.

M

Not good, very low quality chicken, no wonder they slathered it with a ton of sauce. So much sauce they ruined the rice, which by the way had like 10 different vegetables instead of the 4 I requested. This is going straight to the trash bin. The 2 cans of soda and pint of white rice where fine.

The prices are low because the quality is too. As another reviewer said, the wontons tasted old. The veggies taste frozen besides the broccoli. The lunch special came with 3 shrimp that were pretty good. Rice was subpar. Quick delivery, but it’s my first and last time ordering from here.

Worst Chinese food I have ever had in my life. Tasteless, meat was like rubber, it was just plain awful. Well never buy food from this restaurant again because it’s not good enough for human consumption. A dog will refuse to eat it!

I wish i took pictures…i ordered shrimp Lo Mein…the vegetables within the meal looked old and rotten. It was disgusting to say the least and they should be ashamed to serve something like that to a customer. They also do not clean their shrimp so i had to clean each one myself.

Honestly was the worse chinese food i had. The chicken wings were horrible , The boneless ribs were bad. The only decent thing was the shrimp and broccoli . Honestly a 3/10

So I placed an order with them that was terrible and I gave them a chance to make it right and they didn't. So here's my review. Rice and chicken were under cooked, egg roll looked and tasted three days old, and by the time I got to the soup I wasn't interested. So I threw it out good luck if you order from them.

I SHOULD HAVE GOOGLE REVIEW BEFORE ORDERING. THE FOOD WAS DISGUSTING AND OLD. THE VEGETABLES HAD A RAW TASTE TO IT. GRUB HUB GAVE ME BACK MY MONEY. BUT I TELL YOU THIS THIS RESTAURANT KNOWS HOW BAD THEY FOOD IS BECAUSE WHEN I CALLED THEM THEY OFFERED TO SEND FRESH FOOD. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN

I ordered the House special fried rice. The beef was slimy, the pork was very small, and could not find a piece of chicken. All rice, little veggies and almost no meat.

J
Jea Kim

Ordered their sweet and sour chicken and roast duck noodle soup and was terrified by their quality. The noodles were almost inedible and I had to throw away most of the meat in the soup as they were 90% bones. Sweet and sour chicken was okay but the sauce was terrible.

C
Caroline Generas

This place is disgusting. My fiancé keeps forgetting how gross it is and has ordered Chinese food from here several times. Egg roll is greasy, the chicken in the chicken and broccoli is mushy and the breading on the general tsos chicken isn’t crispy nor does it even taste like what it’s supposed to. If you know what’s good for you, don’t waste your money. It’s so gross.

(DONT EAT HERE) Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had! They don’t use real chicken and the sauces they put on top taste spoiled! Horrible customer service! Disgusting environment! I would recommend a -5 start if I could! (DONT EAT HERE)

DONT DO IT! Worst Chinese food experience I’ve had in my whole career. Dry chicken, flavorless rice, and I basically could have submerged my chicken in the onions they gave me…I’d give it a 0 star rating if I could. Someone bought it for me and I want to get a refund it’s that bad.

Went there 20 minutes ago. Chicken was hard no flavor. 2 Ladies came with a pitbull dog. He is looking at everybody almost got loose. Some people are scared of dogs. Some are allergic to do dogs. The dog stink. I will never eat there again. Old French fries.

First timer, I didn’t like my order. I ordered (via grubhub) pork friend rice with fried baby shrimp. The shrimp wasn’t well fried, the rice was a bit dry, and it did not have a nice soft taste to the shrimps. I would say don’t let the high ratings off grubhub or stars through you off. It can definitely be better and taste much better. The prices are also high after you checkout the food & not worth it

Well, that was incredibly disappointing. •Eggrolls - the only thing i enjoyed •Sesame chicken w. Fried Rice - dry chicken. Mushy, flavorless rice. •Spare ribs - never had them off the bone. Small portion. A lot of mushy fat •Crab rangoons - the WORST rangoons I’ve ever had. Tiny serving, maybe a dollop the size of the top part of your pinky. Then you take a bite and the first thing you notice is how dry and stale the outside is. Then, the filling touches your mouth and you have no idea what you’re eating. It’s gritty and has a funky flavor. Immediately spit that out. All this for $60. Give me a break. I can assure you, I will not be dining here again. I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

Simple order. Half chicken fried rice and an egg roll. Called ahead to pick up. Got there waited 20-25 min. so about 40-45 minutes for a simple order. Rice was tasteless. Chick was ok. Egg roll was warm. 1st and last time ordering here.

I ordered fried dumplings, (tough coating) sesame shrimp (the best of a bad lot), fried shrimp and curry chicken. The fried shrimp had a very tough cardboard coating (I have no idea what it was made of) and the curry chicken was tasteless. I'm sorry but this is the worst Chinese food I've ever spent $50 on and it all went in the garbage.

The WORST Asian food I have ever tasted and I’m from Indian-. Paid over $100 for fake chicken full of breading, low grade beef, and absolutely disgusting crab wontons that tasted like they were made from expired dough. Absolutely terrible, it’s a shame this restaurant takes up real estate in New York City.

I ordered via GrubHub and not only did they treat me rudely when I called asking for my order twice, but then they claimed that I had received my order which I had not. The staff is very rude and very inconsiderate of the customer. Not only was the order over an hour late, but it never came. Fortunately GrubHub is taken care of me and it's going to refund my money, because I will never shop here again. Steer clear of this restaurant!
