Ogawa New York Reviews
Food was great. Service was amazing. Great affordable option for sushi in the area that tastes amazing. I got spicy mango shrimp roll and toro.
Perfect spot! Really fresh ingredient, great service. I feel warm and happy having dinner here. Will come back!
so I've had their food twice - I got the spicy tuna roll and the crispy spicy salmon and they both were so fantastic and fresh. the crispy rice is literally addictive, I'm still thinking about it. on a different occasion I got the vegetable udon and it was very flavorful but it seemed healthy? overall really cute restaurant and the sushi is soo good
Fresh sushi in a cute little spot. Came in on a Monday and everything was great. Me and my friend had the place to ourselves mostly - great quiet little intimate place to sit down and chat and have some excellent sushi. Also great for dates but not only.
I loved this spot! We went here for a Galentine’s dinner and it did not disappoint. It’s traditional Japanese fare in a small but cozy space, which was cutely decorated for the occasion. We had the mango roll, the avocado roll, and the veggie udon, which they can make vegan and vegetarian. Would definitely go back!
A great/reliable neighborhood, no frills sushi spot! Cozy atmosphere. A go to walk in spot, love the BYOB aspect. Prices match the experience. I will keep going here.
Very affordable and, amazing food. The owners take special efforts to suggest something you might like. If you go there, don't forget to mix wasabi with soya sauce. It gives a funny tickle in the nose. My favorite is pork dumpling. A must-try. Note - the photos I posted are after I took out a few bites. So, the portion is 6 pieces per plate.

Owaga made my friends Ryan birthday experience 1000/10 in New York! The food good was phenomenal, atmosphere was amazing, genuinely couldn’t have had a better time anywhere else! Thank you so much Yoyo and Jin 🙏🏽
Perfect small sushi and noodle joint. Really enjoyed the high quality ingredients
Had the best dinner here! They gave us the full restaurant and the food was so good. Would highly recommend for group dinners
This place is a dream. It doesn’t get any better in the entire country. The owner is often there and is the most passionate individual who lived in Japan for more than 14 years. The fish gets shipped from Japan every morning. You will never forget this experience.
I stumbled upon this place during a work trip. The food was super tasty. The teriyaki shrimp was light and flavorful and the tuna hand roll was superb. Service is attentive without being smothering.
My favorite sushi restaurant for large groups in NYC. The sushi is top grade and the owners are the best!!! With a big group of 10+, they serve a pre fixe menu in a private room where you can play your own music. Great for intimate birthday parties.
Beautifully peaceful with excellent service and great sushi.
So pleased that this place has stayed open. The food is reliably satisfying, well-priced, and just a source of comfort in a nice, small space that is never too overwhelming. The owners are lovely and the space has had some updates to decor, lighting, and serveware. A maki combo is usually the choice for me, but I've always loved their mushroom soup as well.
Love this place! Try and come here every time I’m in NYC. The sweetest family business. Great food and right next to an awesome pub!
This was my first time in New York and I randomly stumbled across this restaurant to kill some time. I sat down and struck up conversation with a very energetic couple. Come to find out the lady actually had a menu item named after her, Jenna (s3). I tried their recommendations, and I’ll have to say I normally don’t venture out with sushi. However, I tried the S20 and it was the best sushi I have had up to date. I enjoyed my meal, the atmosphere and the conversation very much!
I've been coming here for years with the entire family and it just started as lunch at work. Mango shrimp with spicy Mayo, to die for. Spicy mayo is heavenly. I don't eat sushi anywhere else but here. Thank you for the happy years. 😊

very good sushi and I love the atmosphere of being in a smaller environment. the service and food were good, but not the best I've had around the area for sushi.

Terrible service!!! I was excited to try this new neighborhood spot and when I ordered sushi lunch and asked “no white tuna please”, the waitress told me absolutely no substitutions. I explained I was allergic to it but she told me this was impossible as she wasn’t the one who invented the rules… They really should try and think “outside the box” if they don’t want to lose customers. As far as the competition goes- there’s plenty of fish in the sea. Literally!!! Good luck to you Ogawa!
