Old Xi'an Delicacy New York Reviews
I love going here for their Spicy Lamb Noodles....they are always a hit and never miss on the taste buds. The spicy level is very underrated, so be cautious on how hot you go on the scale
Honestly didn’t expect the Spicy Beef Hand Ripped Noodle at Old Xi'an to be this tasty. The beef was tender, the chilies hit just right, and those hearty hand-ripped noodles made it a satisfying MealPal win!
Loved the Stewed Pork Over Rice at Old Xi'an today! The savory pork, fresh spinach, and that delicious egg made every bite so hearty and satisfying. Would definitely use MealPal for this again.
Welcoming and friendly staff. The place is clean with plenty of seating available and nice decor. Ordering is done via self-service kiosks, which is very convenient and makes it easy to know exactly what you’re ordering. It was a bit surprising that everything is served in disposable containers. The food is generous, tasty, and good quality. Excellent value for money. Clean restrooms. Free water and tea are easily available. Be careful: the medium level is already quite spicy!
Popped in here for dinner on a Saturday night. They have touchscreen kiosks for you to place your orders at, which aren’t too confusing to navigate and customize your orders. We got the chicken hand ripped noodles and the spicy beef over rice, which were part of a meal deal they have which includes a smaller version of a full appetizer (we opted for the steamed dumplings and pork buns) and a drink. The food was all very flavorful and rich, I especially enjoyed the spicy beef. Overall a nice, quaint spot grab a nice bite of authentic food
Amazing noodle soup - complex, flavorful broth, hand pulled flat noodles, fresh crunchy veggies, delicious lamb in an overall cumin flavored, savory, mouth-wateringly spicy broth. Spartan interiors are nicely decorated with Chinese lanterns - not sure if the decorations are seasonal or permanent, but I loved the ambiance. Ordering is through a kiosk. Handful of small tables to sit and eat, and minimal staff running around serving, cleaning, helping with orders. High efficiency setup. Best news for diabetics - I have a continuous glucose monitor, and was thrilled to see my sugar did not cross 150 in the hours that followed. Shows that the broth and noodles are free of spike-causing ingredients like corn starch and enriched white flour. It’s like a cherry on top of this already superb food joint.
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. The place is self order (ordering done at one of two kiosk screens) and self seating as far as we could tell. Items we ordered as of 7/2022: - Beef burger - $6.95 - Very tender beef and the buns itself was also nice and fluffy. Definitely wouldn't call this a "burger" though. - Chicken Hand-Ripped Noodle in Soup - $13.95 - Missus loved this one. She chose the "Spicy" level and says it was just perfect. Noodles are tender BUT there is a lot of it and due to the thickness it can be quite heavy carb wise. Loved the soup however! - Steam mini pork buns - $7.95 - Not bad but nothing mind blowing. Buns itself had a slight sweetness to it which paired well with the soy dipping sauce it came with. Probably wouldn't get this again. - Beef Hand-Ripped Noodle - $13.95 - Same beef as the beef burger above and same hand pulled noodles. The beef again has great flavor and tenderness. Noodles are good but will get quite filling quite fast due to the thickness to them. Can't compare this to the Xi'an Famous Foods locations since they were closed but overall we were satisfied with our meal here.
Okay. Decent flavor. No better or worse than Xian Famous Foods. You order from a touch screen and they call you to grab it when its ready. We got an assortment of dishes. Food was okay. Nothing was overly flavorful. The best item was the spicy cumin lamb burger. The cucumbers were disappointing. The extra spicy noodles were not even spicy until I went back to up to ask to for extra chili oil and that helped get it partially to where it should be. Oh well. #30 cucumber salad - $6.95 #15 spicy cumin lamb burger - $6.95 #5 spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodle (extra spicy) - $13.95 C1 - Chicken Hand-ripped noodle soup in soup- $13.95 If you're in the area, it isn't bad, but isn't necessarily a destination restaurant, which is unfortunate.
We came here after reading the online reviews and was pretty disappointed. We ordered the beef noodle soup (no spice), pork noodle soup, and a beef bun. The beef noodle soup was barely beef flavored and didn’t have very much flavor overall because of the lack of spiciness. The pork soup was basically only spice flavored and the meat was a little tough. The noodles in both soups was disappointing as the noodles were almost soggy tasting. Overall, everything is fine and edible, but I was pretty disappointed in the meal.
i really liked the decoration & furniture in here however the food i got wasn’t any good. i got the lamb dumplings & pork dumplings (both steamed). they both had very little flavor, the wrapping was thick, chewy and undercooked. not a fan of the food at all unfortunately.
This place was a huge disappointment. We were in the area and saw this place and was very excited to give it a shot. I am a big fan of Xian Famous Food and was hoping for something similar. First of all the noodle was not even chewy. It was big, flat, soft and just boring. Did not taste the hand pulled noddles at all. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and the vegetarian noodle soup and both were extremely disappointing. The vegetable one was especially bad. It lacked in flavor and just bland and boring. We also ordered the spicy cumin lamb burger and the beef burger. And both were way too salty and lack flavor again. The chicken dry noddle was also bad... Really a shame...the place is cute and we really had high hopes. But a complete copy cat of Xian Famous food that failed. People who thought this place is good really don't know Chinese food..there I said it...
The staffs are very friendly and interior is nice. Although it looks like it is currently takeout or dine out only. The food was very underwhelming. The cold skin noodle was extremely mushy and choppy. The veggie dumpling was extremely bland. Then for the Chinese chicken burger, the bun was soft (expected it to be crunchy and bit chewy), though the chicken was juicy with burst of cumin flavor.
