Pioneers Bar NYC New York Reviews
Came with my brother and sister the other day and it was so nice inside. Very loungey and I tried playing pool for the first time here—I wasn’t any good. I got a Bronx bomber and there wasn’t too much alcohol in it which was nice to me. Will definitely be going back!
I stayed at a hotel next door and was impressed when i stopped in after a long day in Manhattan. I am impressed with the tap menu and the little things like the bartenders remembering your name. That, to me, gave a home town feel into Midtown Manhattan. Always ask for the free complimentary bowl of popcorn! It is super close to Penn Station, so if you are looking for a great hangout prior to sporting events, this is your spot!
I hosted my birthday here and they went above and beyond! The drinks were great and my friends enjoyed all the games here. The bartenders were super attentive (shoutout to Malachi and Connor!).
Malakai and Connor were fantastic, some of the best bartenders we’ve seen. My friend and I came to New York for a few days from Arizona. We were welcomed and treated with the utmost respect, had great drinks and played pool giant Jenga and giant connect 4, and just had an amazing time in general. This place rocks, definitely give it a try at least once. Shoutout to the security guards
This bar is an amazing spot to unwind and have fun with friends. There’s a great mix of games, well-made drinks, and an atmosphere that instantly pulls you in. The décor is creative and eye-catching, giving the place its own personality, and it makes every visit feel special. I enjoy the vibe so much that I keep thinking of reasons to come back. I’ve been searching for the perfect place to host my birthday, and this bar has quickly moved to the top of my list. It’s fun, relaxed, and memorable—exactly what you want for a great night out.
Best place to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The bartender, Casey, is a gem of a person. He made sure we all have a great time.
Absolutely love this place. Shout out to Casey and the rest of the bar team. Great vibes, friendly service. Definitely come here for a fun night out where you will be treated with courtesy and friendliness. The staff here nurture a fun yet safe vibe for patrons which is so important when out. Multiple bathrooms and all are gender neutral. Plus lots of games. They also have a house pool league team full of amateur friendly players that meet once a week for league games. Heard they are always looking for new members. Great way to meet new friends and try something new.
Didn't get a chance to eat here, had a few drinks with friends , 3 bathrooms, games like beerpong pool table other adult arcade style games. Friendly bartender and other workers. Good time, will return.
It was my first time going to a bar. I had spent most of my university years buried in the lab, so I felt a bit nervous at first. But Casey treated my colleagues and me very well, and it turned out to be a really good experience.
My friend celebrated his birthday here (if you bring 10 people the birthday person gets free drinks) and it was a great time! I hadn’t met anyone else previously. Games and energy made a great atmosphere to meet new people. Frozen margaritas were goooood 😋 they have rotating flavors SHOUT OUT TO MARK THE BARTENDER great energy 10/10 human interaction
You just found Manhattan’s best kept secret! We happened upon this bar wanting some chill vibes and to play couple rounds of pool. Walking in the atmosphere is extremely homey and welcoming. The decorations were awesome and we loved the big screens to watch football and the couches were insanely comfortable. They have great local brewery options on tap! We ended up playing some giant jenga and connect four as well.
A wonderful place to enjoy games and drinks with friends 🔥 absolutely love the vibe and theme of this bar. I’ve been looking for a place to throw my birthday party and it’s giving !!!! Looking forward to coming back with friends I was in the area after I stopped by at Loopys For Kalbi🤯 perfect after activity after a big bite ✨🙏🏼 drinks are reasonable , music is great and the place is spacious . I didn’t try their food I got the frozen pina coloda and let me tell you one had me 🥴
Love the vibe of this place but the only downside was, though food is advertised, when we ordered, it didn't come for over an hour and we ended up leaving to get something somewhere else. They don' have an on-site kitchen. The bar staff was great though so if youre going for drinks, you'll have a great time!
Its Always a good time with friends. The have a huge jinga set , huge connect 4, and a pinball machine, pool table, skee ball, and a ball toss but its called beer pong. So there are some cool things to do at this bar. Can't beat free popcorn. The music is a strange mix of almost everything. The last time i went it was a Thursday and the time before that had to be a friday or something cause they had a baseball game playing. The people are pretty chill for it to be midtown. Try it out you may like it
The place is great and fun!! But took them sooo long to get the order 🥵 and it wasn’t that full
Connor was a terrible bartender. Overcharged us for drinks with our group of 10. Be careful since he takes advantage and overcharges drinks
The bartender Conor is completely out of his depth, along with his colleague who was useless. Conor struggled with basic drink orders, asked repetitive questions, and showed zero awareness or urgency. It didn’t feel busy, it felt like he genuinely didn’t know what he was doing. Frustrating and disappointing. I’d never recommend this place again if they continue to hire incompetent young kids. If you want to be disrespected then you found the only place in NYC to have this experience.
Nahhh. Bad-looking place, mediocre service. Even the domestic beer is overpriced, bartenders don’t bother filling the pint to the rim, and it tastes like it came straight from the heater. Skip it, you’ve got plenty of better bars in the heart of Midtown
$15 high noon is wild. A watermelon out of all is crazyyyyy. Skunk beer on tap that was made to pay for even though they pour it out and gave me another beer. Cool pinball machine.
