Puffy’s Tavern New York Reviews
Fun place. Great selection of draft beers. They have a great Saturday happy hour. I liked the tunes. You can't go wrong with classic rock. I wish that they were not having a private party. I would of stayed longer.
As a first timer in NY I felt like this place stopped time for me. Husband and I randomly dipped in here one night and it felt like a place where everything melted away. The hustle and bustle quieted, relaxed atmosphere. Kind bartender and the best caprese panini I’ve ever had. Shout out to the gentleman that made it for us.
Awesome service from Elice. So warm and welcoming and found time to guide us to a few more places to enjoy our day. Brilliant hazy IPA and well priced too. On my next visit to NYC will definitely drop by.
Stopped for a late lunch based on a recommendation from a friend and this place did not disappoint! The gal at the bar was super nice and helped me choose the Pavarotti. It was unbelievable. I even had half the next day and I think it got better over time. I didn’t know I liked artichokes but I definitely do on that sandwich. I may be dreaming about it for awhile and I will definitely be back next time I’m in the area.
OK, didn't want a federal production of eating in the city, but I was hungry. What a pleasant surprise. Limited menu, but really really good! I got the Marina. So good! I had the baguette, delicious! And I'm a food snob. Place is small. You can get alcohol.
We stumbled across this place when we were walking around Tribeca and I'm so happy we did! It's such a great spot with a comfortable British pub vibe... old school and divey in the best possible way. The bartender was so sweet and attentive, the drink selection was perfect, and the other patrons were lovely. It felt like we'd been going there for ages. We didn't try any of the food but from what we saw, it looked delicious. Check it out if you're in the neighborhood!
Great sandwiches, plenty of beers, relaxed atmosphere, good prices. If you’re out for a walk or looking for a plate to share while enjoying a casual but lively atmosphere this is an ideal spot. We shared the gladiatore sandwich and a couple pints of beer. Friendly, fast, fun people watching just off the beaten path.
I came here one evening on a pub crawl. The bar is very crowded and we struggled to find a seat. We wound up in the corner with some beers. The place also has a large sandwich selection so we each got one. I had their ham & cheese. The bread was a bit dry but the sandwich as a whole was very good and helped a lot to fill me up while crawling.
Came here with high expectations and was immediately turned off by the service. I asked for an aperol spritz and thought it tasted a little off, so tried to politely ask the bartender to switch it out for a seltzer. She harshly asked what was wrong with the drink and proceeded to explain that to me what was in an aperol spritz as if I were a toddler. When I apologized and said it wasn’t what I was used to, she took a straw and drank out of the spritz then rudely told me that was what a spritz tasted like.
Went in with a friend who doesn’t drink. I ordered a vodka soda, then asked for a seltzer water. The bartender responded with, “What do you think this is, a BYOB bar? Do you think this is a sober bar?” That’s not witty, funny, or “edgy”, it’s rude and unprofessional. Ordering water in a bar is normal. So is being respectful to paying customers. If this is the attitude toward guests, especially those who choose not to drink, I won’t be back and I won’t recommend this place to anyone.
Incredibly rude service. Made me question why I ever went to the bar.
Insanely rude woman bartender. I spent 20 minutes patiently waiting for a drink and she basically threw it at me (I didn't complain or anything to deserve rude treatment) along with many eye rolls. Literally the drink splashed out on my arm and shirt when she slammed the can down. Not sure what I did to deserve that but this is super unnecessary to treat people that way (it was like 4pm too and legit my first drink). Charged $6 for my bf's club soda too which feels excessive. Cool dive bar overall but cmon, treat people with decency unless they truly don't deserve it.
The most rude bouncers I’ve ever met. The most disrespectful, doesn’t care about women, worse bouncer you have ever met do not go here. Happy to wait in line no problem but when we were waiting he was so disrespectful would not recommend. Go to another dive bar that’s worth your time. Made us wait in line when there was 8 people in the bar. Do not go here! Find another bar. Walkers is a great alternative!
This was the most unsettling experience I’ve had in awhile. I walk into the bar. Yes on the phone, and the female bartender takes my order when I’m done. She was very rude and didn’t ask if I wanted to keep my tab open or not. She also was very rude when I asked if they had happy hours. It was 99% white men in there, which was fine but she was very kind to them. She didn’t even let me sign my check and give me the opportunity to tip or not. Even the male bartender was puzzled. If you are black or Hispanic don’t go here! You will be treated terrible.
