Spyglass Rooftop New York Reviews
Great for a drink after a day exploring the Big Apple! Fantastic view of ESB!
Booked at spyglass as we had heard good things about the roof top bar. Just our luck it had been raining and it was closed for safety as it was my wife's birthday we asked if there was any chance she could go out and take some photos. The manager said as it was her birthday no worries he would sort it. On top of that the food was great and they even brought out a special treat for my wife. Great vibe too.
I’ve been here a few times and always had a great experience. The location is excellent, with a beautiful view of the Empire State Building. I really enjoy their cocktail menu—The Redemption is my favorite. Highly recommended.
Outstanding views! Looking right at the Empire State building. Great customer service and Rico the manager was top notch. Definitely a must-visit if you want a great roof top bar!

Spyglass Rooftop Bar is a true gem in New York City! The view of the Empire State Building is absolutely breathtaking — one of the best skyline spots we’ve experienced in the city. The atmosphere is chic yet relaxed, perfect for a sunset drink or a night out. Cocktails are creative and well-balanced, and the food is surprisingly good too. Prices are very reasonable for NYC, especially considering the quality and the view. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy great drinks with an unforgettable view!
I was looking for a new rooftop spot to watch the sunset from and came across this one in an article. I made reservations and came in on mothers day at 7 to enjoy the sunset. The bar was empty and the seating was perfect. It was too cold to sit outside so I saw at a table up against the glass with the perfect view right in front of me. The service, drinks and food were all great. I enjoyed myself in the Empire room for hours. It was so good I made reservations for the following night with plans to sit outside. The following night I returned and found the bar to be very busy. Had I not had a reservation, I wouldn't have been able to get in. But I was happy to enjoy a lively crowd and was able to enjoy the view from outside. I can't wait to return in the fall. This bar is such a perfect hidden gem.
I’m always super impressed on How The Tiniest space being utilized in NYC. Great use of space & decor. Loved the atmosphere & NYC views. Definitely, will revisit for the summer vibe as it seems to have more space when the glass doors are hope. Cool spot, close to Penn Station or Port of Authority!I’m
Very nice rooftop with a phenomenal view of Empire State Building and so much more. 🦋On the 22nd floor. 🦋 there’s indoor & outdoor seating to hang out based on the temperature and mood. But can get congested. 🦋 there’s definitely a spyglass. So you can see things up close & personal. 🦋I didn’t enjoy my “TIRAMISU MARTINI” way to sweet, felt mostly cream, felt no espresso at all. Very disappointed in that drink. But if you’re into that, enjoy. Next time I’ll stick to my favorite drink “espresso martini” just was hoping to try something new & like it. . . . Overall definitely recommend. Extensive cocktail menu. Brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 1-3pm
If you're in search of a cozy place with a breathtaking view of the Empire State Building, look no further! While it may not be the highest rooftop bar in the city, it offers a relaxed, chilled and inviting atmosphere, along with some great drinks. During my visit, the service was not particularly warm or overly friendly, but I have to admit that they certainly know how to make delicious drinks! The bar's size may be smaller compared to others of its kind, but it more than makes up for it with its captivating view. Part of the deck is open, providing an unobstructed sight of the Empire State Building and a portion of Midtown. However, what excited me the most was the outdoor seating. From the bar seats and glass table, you can immerse yourself in the vastness of the concrete jungle, feeling like you're sitting in the front row of a blockbuster movie! I could easily spend hours here, staring at the majestic Emperor. For a better appreciation of the view, binoculars are installed at the deck. Although the idea is fantastic, their positioning could use some improvement. As a relatively tall adult, I found myself bending my body into uncomfortable angles just to look through them. A slight redesign would be appreciated. One aspect that posed a challenge was the sharp lighting embedded in the floor. Not only did the light reflect unflatteringly on my and my friends' chins, but it was also very blinding. Overall I did enjoy my time here and would not hesitate to visit again. Visited in June 2023. Paid by card.
Spyglass Rooftop Bar has an unbeatable view of the Empire State Building, it’s easily one of the most stunning skyline spots in NYC. The vibe is stylish and trendy, making it a popular choice for both locals and tourists. That said, the space is very tight, and it can feel a bit overcrowded. Service was extremely slow during our visit, which was disappointing, especially given how pricey the drinks were. It’s definitely worth checking out for the view alone, but manage your expectations when it comes to service and seating.
Went here for birthday drinks with a coworker and a group of seven. The rooftop is cute but definitely on the smaller side—it felt a bit cramped, so I’d recommend it more for groups of 2-4. They don’t offer any happy hour specials after work, so expect to pay $20+ per cocktail. We didn’t order any food, but I did try the red velvet cake and wasn’t impressed—it was hard and cold. I might go back if someone else plans something there, but I wouldn’t make a point to return on my own.
Tiny place on level 22 of Archer Hotel. Great view to ES building, but it's not worth visiting for food or drinks. It's a tourist spot I tried after googling rooftop bars. Would choose another one next time. The food I ordered was really good and the prices were reasonable. Service is very polite, but as said in terms of rooftop bars nothing to brag about.
Wonderful rooftop views of the Empire State Building. Perfect place to bring friends and visitors to enjoy some perfectly crafted cocktails and the view! Our cocktails were typically priced for a rooftop ($20ish) and well mixed. Mezcal margarita, "The Redemption", and tiramisu espresso martini were superb. Service was excellent and friendly! The Grilled Spanish Octopus and Crab Cake plates were delicious and high quality. However, where it went wrong was the Margherita Pizza on the menu. It was, simply put... awful, and insulting as a New Yorker to be served what appeared to look (and taste) like a frozen pizza that one could buy at a gas station in Kansas. It was surprising to see this sad excuse for a pizza offered at a relatively swanky establishment. Especially after our other items from the menu were superb! To the owners, please remove this atrocity from your menu to save your reputation and prevent embarrassment in front of visitors to this great city, recognized worldwide for quality pizza!
