Best Jamaican resturant in Manhattan. Excellent Costumer service and food always tastes fresh.
One of the best chicken soup I’ve ever had in a long time
So far the food is good. Customer service is great.
Best Jamaican food in Harlem or the Upper East Side definitely recommend this place
Food is lit best Caribbean food so far I have tasted in Harlem
I must say, this place is amazing! If your looking for some delicious authentic Jamaican food, this is the go to place in Manhattan. I wish I could give 10 stars.
Love the vybz.the food is awesome. Just like my mom would cook..staff amazing. Have to give thumbs up to the chef..freshly cook meals.
Okay so it's a small takeout place.... Great Jamaican Patties. Extremely delicious and fresh. I loved loved their patties.
We came to try Jamaican food and it was delicious!!!!😍 Also the man that attended us was very kind :)
Went for lunch, got the last of the jerk chicken in a lunch special and some barbecue. Food was great and price was reasonable, will definitely be back.
Everything there is bussin just make sure you get there before lunch time
Hit the spot on a rainy day and the owner was super accommodating.
Best ox tail I've ever had. I've been going to this location for 28 years. Love them.
This place is amazing. Taste just like how my mother used to make it. The food is delicious and offers great portions. The place is very clean and the staff are very nice. They offer great options for meat eaters, vegetarians, and pescatarians. I would say this is the best Caribbean restaurant in the area. I’ve ordered here many times before, even on doordash. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to eat authentic Caribbean food.
Not sure what people are complaining about regarding oxtail size & price, it’s literally expensive everywhere you go. Flavours never miss and very friendly owner. Probably best Jamaican food between 100th & 60th
Oxtails and rasta past was delicious. So happy I finally tried this restaurant. Not a dine in spot. The gentleman was helpful once in restaurant. I was disappointed at first because I was unable to place a order before picking up but the food was worth it. Will be returning to try other meal options
Jerk chicken with cabbage, peas and rice with plantains was what I was looking for to eat tonight, T & G delivered the flavor. I’ve gotten their pattys in the past and they are the real deal. I love a “hole in the wall” that has good food.
Happened upon this place and was so lucky!! This is the taste of Jamaica, West Indies....my mom (a native of Clarendon, JA) vouched for its authentic flavors and *still* talks about it, 3 years later. This place is an unassuming treasure. You will not be disappointed!
I’ve been coming here for a few months now and the soup is great they have a different soup every day!!
Oxtails melt in your mouth absolutely delicious used to be a Winston and Tee but they changed their name and number. I've been dying to get me plate so happy to see they've resurfaced. Yummmmm
Sometimes they run out of food it's so good . Authentic Jamaican cuisine. Oxtails jerk chicken rice and peas cabbage and the rum cake is top notch.
Okay, I placed an order through Grubhub for Mannish Water on a Saturday, I believe( I might be wrong regarding the day. However, I received a phone call from...if I'm not mistaken, Javon, & he explained to me that what I ordered wasn't the soup for the day. However, if I placed an order on Wednesday, then he'd honor the previous order from grubhub, w/no expense for me. Two weeks went by & instead of placing the order, I went to the restaurant, told my story & he honored our previous arrangements. The soup was amazing, and I was so grateful for the experience as well as his patronage that my friend told me to pull over to shout him out! Javon was extremely excited for our acknowledgments towards him & how good his Mannish Water tasted!
Delicious curry chicken. Impressive spread for a smaller outfit, will be going back for more!
Hear me say: Luv dem! They make me want to speak patois all day when I eat from them. Honestly their restaurant is like coming to see family and I’m NEVER disappointed! From traditional soups to curries to escovitch to ox tails, I give them a chef’s kiss. I love the witty banter and the freshness of the selection. Everyone should know what they’re in for when you claim Jamaican authenticity! I highly recommend as a quarter yardie 😉

Food is always great. 5 stars. For people complaining about the price, oxtails is expensive. I’d rather pay for oxtail that taste amazing, then to go somewhere else and pay for subpar oxtail. And so far these folks have some of the best oxtail I’ve tasted from a Jamaican restaurant
Unfortunately prices have gotten crazy, but still love this spot. Winston is always solid and gives good portions. highly recommend pickup
The restaurant is small but foods are delicious, never have an issue, always get your moneys worth. I would highly recommend anyone if they are looking for some good food.

Nice place to satisfy UR Caribbean appetite
Best yard food in midtown and downtown
This spot is always crowded everybody like the axestail.
Not the freshest chicken curry but pretty good!
Decent lunch food. Nice oxtails, fried chicken and fried fish
Small place, clean. The food was decent but full of pepper.
I've been going off and on for over 10 years. Anytime I'm in the neighborhood I always get a lunch special or small plate. The salmon with the special sauce is my Fab.
It's a pizza place in Manhattan. Not too pricey and it has average pizza. A quick stop for people around the area.
The taste is good but expensive and the tall slim worker that works there are not friendly at all
One of the few authentic Caribbean restaurants in Manahttan and truly very good quality food. Service as well is always pleasant. I'm particularly partial to sweet plantains and by far, they are one of the best. Whether is breakfast or lunch. I highly recommend.
Food is good, just a bit pricey. Place is small as well, no room to eat. There's like two seats there.. I would just get food and leave... I like the food though

It's ok I believe they can cook better
Food is good, decent portions, but between wait times and prices....its not my go-to. Their pricing is heavily dictated by its location and the demographic which includes a lot of doctors and nurses but it does not cater to the low income neighborhoods starting one block away. $20 for a meal makes it possible to only enjoy here and there. They can do better
Ordered delivery through Uber Eats, Jerk chicken and beef patties. Pros: portion size for the chicken was generous, beef patties were very flavorful and had a bit more spice than other places I’ve tried. Cons: Jerk chicken flavor was a bit different from expected. It reminded me a bit of smoked seafoods that I associate more with some Nigerian dishes. Not bad but not what I wanted for this dish.
Small spot. Very little seating. A steady stream of customers. Quick service. I had escovitch fish, curry goat with rice and peas and a soda. Really large portions. The curry goat was flavorful. Rice and peas were good. Ecovitch fish (whiting) was tasty but required a bit more vinegar. It came with loads of tasty onions as well. I like this place.
This is literally overpriced I went there for lunch I got a small curry goat, a piece of rum cake and carrot juice cost $33 definitely can’t afford to eat lunch here on a daily basis.. curry goat was very tasty but the meat was chopped in tiny cubes size of a red bean or smaller..
The oxtail lunch special had extremely small portion sizes. The flavors were only decent. For $13, you can find better food elsewhere.
Order escovitch but in this case it was fried whitening with sauce rather than a whole pan fried porgy in a tangy spicy vinegar that I am traditionally used to. The rice and peas was bland. The cabbage was mush and didn’t provide any crunch. The pigeon got more out of it than I did.

I was looking for some good brown ‘stew chicken’ but unfortunately it wasn’t slowly cooked or braised. It was pan fried and don’t get me wrong the flavor was good but it didn’t give me what I was looking for. I was looking for the meat to fall off the bone and actually be in brown or as they say ‘dark sauce’ vs feeling like I’m cutting into a pork chop in reddish sauce. I should have just ordered the curry chicken. Maybe I’ll give them another chance one day.

Too highly priced and I’ve had better.
Bought Ackee & Saltfish for $14 and received a sprinkle of ackee. When I called to complain, the rep. had the nerve to tell me: “it’s standard serving for ackee, and we’re busy now.” Okay, so I guess no ackee, is the standard serving. Bright side, the saltfish and dumplings tasted great!!
The least flavorful jerk chicken I have ever had. Portion size was ridiculously inadequate and small. Hard pass on this place.
Any time they have soup its good. Food over price because of the location and there cheap on the proteins
Food is disgusting. Oxtail is mostly fat, not much meat. The rice is absolute mush, the lady was able to pick it up with tongs. To be fair, the only thing I've had here was the oxtail and the soup so I am only speaking about that. Oh, the soup had no dumplings, and I'm sorry but for Caribbean people, soup with out dumplings is a hot drink. I go to Starbucks for that.
Order Jerk chicken and Oxtail, it was delivered thru Uber Eat, the deliver guy Larry was so late keep saying he was five minutes away order a 6:40 he got here at 8:15 the food had know flavor and was cold. I don't think I will order from there anymore spend to much money for unenjoyable food.
I USE TO LOVE THIS SPOT FOR OVER 10 YEARS WINSTON USE TO SERVE SOME GOOD FOOD. NOW A LUNCH FOR CURRY IS 11.00 ON UBER EATS, 2 SMALL PIECE OF CHICKEN AND 13.00 FOR OXTAIL 3 SMALL OXTAILS. DISAPPOINTING.

I got the salmon dinner with rice and peas and cabbage. The salmon had pineapples and they didn’t ask me if that was ok with that or even if I was allergic. & it wasn’t on the menu. I got the food and took a Uber home. The salmon was over cooked and didn’t taste fresh. Rice was old. They fell off this place use to be so good. I grew up in the area Idk what happened but I won’t be going back 🤷🏾♀️
The oxtails barely have any meat and its like they put tooo much ginger!!!!!!!! It had a weird sweet taste to it and I know when I cook oxtail at home, its not sweet. Plus they charge rediculous prices. I payed 27.50 for a large plate. They got 2 stars from me because the rice and cabbage was fresh and cooked perfectly

Super unfriendly owner and staff, don't waste your time here, you deserve better.
Order from here with uber eats, and they send burned food....never again...
Not freshly made
THE WORST FOOD EVER THEY DO NOT COOK YOUR FOOD WITH NO SEASON AND THEY JUST WARM UP FROZEN AND CANNED FOODS
Food smelled and tasted three days old threw it out! I should have gone in and ordered instead of waiting in the car! Doesn’t matter we’re done here!!!
i ordered akee and cod fish and was over charged by three dollars plus the container was filled with oil
Horrible service. Uber eats took 1.5 hr to make. Never received order. AVOID
Salt fish way too greasy and don't have a taste
Everything is too salty. Can’t drink the chicken soup, one drop of the soup induces cough, that’s how much salt is in it. Ackee and codfish also too salty, it gave my friend headache.
Literally one star more a negative this restaurant is on GRUBHUB AND DO NOT DO DELIVERY, You will ask so why they on Grubhub, THEY DID NOT CANCEL MY ORDER FAST THEY JUST TOKE MY MONEY Bad
Spent almost $80, missing apart of my order, I ordered a large oxtail with rice and peas, which has no coconut flavor, and had 4 pieces of oxtail, plus the rice was filled with gravy and filled with sugar, my mom dish which was curry goat was filled with sugar also these people cannot cook I had to dump it and ask God to forgive me🥲
That was the worst food I've ever eaten. Both were too sweet, the meat and the cabbage. And speaking of cabbage it looked liked garbage. And by the way it wasn't worth $2.99
Very rude poor customer service. Living up to the Stereotype that Jamaican restaurants have bad attitudes. Smh
Customer survive is key in all aspects and with this place they need to be more mindful of the people that deliver from their restaurant . The attitude of the delivery guy is the worst I’ve seen mind you it’s the first time ordering food from this place it’s really sad the way this guy acted . I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN
Fake, pizzeria type frozen beef patties. Must have been two days old, cardboard, like and cold.
Very overpriced and underwhelming food. The rum cake I had was barely edible. Such a rip off.
No flavors what so ever the food had no spices to it rice was hard and not worth the money sorry get real Caribbean food in the bronx up by 233rd and white plans road
Every time I order from this place they always have an excuse, first was the kitchen cough on fire so my delivery took exactly 1 hour and a half and than today it took over 2 hours and the excuse was "I couldn't find my house keys" like dude what does your house keys have to do with my delivery hello you cooking my food in the restaurant not your house. I will never order from them again and the food was super cold and nasty on top of that the oxtails is not suppose to be sweet is a meal not a dessert
We ordered through Ubereats and we regretted it! First of all, the oxtails were pure fat! The plantains were very oily and soggy and they forgot to add the other drink to the bag, I had to get a refund from Ubereats, we didn’t even get napkins. And on the Ubereats it’s not really clear on how to order the food. Very mediocre presentation of food. It’s my first time ordering and I’m disappointed.
This restaurant owner has horrible customer service. Absolutely no regard for people’s time. I had a corporate party for which I had them cater. Not only did he show up 1 1/2 hours late. He didn’t have the decency to call me to let me know that he was running late. It wasn’t until I called to get an update on my catering order that I found out that he had no intention of being there on time. When he finally arrived, he never apologized!! Even after I brought it up to him!!!!!! I’m still baffled 😮 by their behavior!! No compensation, nothing!! Do not give these people your money!!!!! The food is not that great that you can’t forgoes service for price! This is NYC, the land of Jamaicans. You will find another place.
The food was old and spoiled charged me $15 for some bad liver dumplings was old. Don’t buy from there. The food had me throwing up.
22$ for what ? what they call a large is a regular size in another restaurant and the ox tails are cut in 1/2 so it looks like a reasonable amount covered in sauce. in the food I had it contained 3 ox tails cut in 1/2 . The Taste is almost non-existent.
I ordered food from this place through UberEATS and I spent 54.00 all I got was a large porridge and one of the ginger juices... Where the heck is the rest of my food. Either this place can't take an order properly or the Uber guy ate my food. But someone need to figure it out... Y'all get two thumbs down...
I ordered from this place on Grubhub. Imagine your taste buds craving something then you get the total opposite. Jerk chicken with no jerk sauce or barbecue sauce. And carrot cake with no cream cheese icing. Do the math.
These aren’t Real Jamaican cooks.I think they left year’s ago and so did their cooking skills.I wouldn’t recommend.REALY?…Who could screw up our national dish……
Normally I Do NOT Write a review. However; I just had to! this was the nastiest food I have ever purchased! I had curry shrimp with white rice ( Nothing toooo Crazy right?) well let me tell you! The white rice taste very OLD and it was mushy! As if it was sitting out for at least 2 days and they added water to soften it. The curry shrimp was watery and had no seasoning.curry has to be seasoned as well! You don’t just add curry and not season it. I called to let the guy know my issue and he got so mad and told me he just made that rice and said he doesn’t care and hung up on me! I will Never recommend.
I have been eating here off and on for 4-5yrs. The food never disappointed, and I was a well paying customer. It was affordable. Unfortunately the strategy of raising prices effectively limits the low income neighborhoods patronage. The prices cleary state who is and is not welcomed.
Where do I start, I ordered I ordered the curry goat for lunch and then waited 2 and 1/2 hours for it to arrive (missing my lunch schedule entirely) if that wasn't bad enough when I received my order it was mostly (Hairy) goat fat, combined with mushy rice (Not Even the rice I ordered) nothing authentic about this place at all... In fact I believe it's a Front for something sinister judging by the terrible food and customer service. Overall do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here.
They forced a large order into a small plate. Nor really large. The cod fish was boiled out, no flavor. The Ackee and codfish was dried out ( may have been old) there was mo salt, no pepper. Very tasteless, very uneventful. Ackee was very small in proportion to ground provision. 🤐🤥😔😲😧
$17 for a SMALL order of oxtails that literally only had 6 bones, a chunk of fat and clearly a TON of oil. Flavor/texture on a scale from 1-10 is a 2 and that’s for the entire meal. Crazy how the guy asked if I wanted to buy another paper bag for 25 cents. NEVER again ! Don’t waste ur money !!! Wish I could rate this no stars !

I bought 2 large oxtail for $50 + tax it was the worst dinner I ever had in my 30 years living in USA it is an embarrassment to Jamaican cuisine! The oxtail has no taste wasn’t properly cooked , rice and peas was from the day before I can taste water been poured in it very saggie , sugar was mix in the cabbage , plantain wasn’t freshly fried . It was terrible
Ordered A Small Porridge And Soon As I Opened The Top I Smelt The Bottom Of The Pot Proceeded To Taste The Porridge And Juss As It Smelt It Was Burnt Not To Mention The Cold Fried Dumplings At 930 Am Smh & This Isn’t The 1st Time, I Will No Longer Waste My Money Trying To Buy Jamaican Food In A Area With Very Few Jamaicans If Any GOOD LUCK Oh And I’m Taking It Back I Dont Even Care For A Refund
Food was trash would rate lower if I could word to my mother, chicken wasn’t tender at all tasted old. 20 dollars for a that plate was trash. 🗑️
I bought $54 worth of food to feed my children. The food was OLD AND RANCID. The Rasta pasta was sour and tasted like throw up. The rice and peas, jerk chicken, curry chicken, Mac and cheese and cabbage all taste very old and inedible I felt so sick after I ate the very little. When we tried to call the restaurant we were told they do not take responsibility. Leaves me baffled. I had to throw it all away. Do NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. Do not buy from here.
Quality of the food has changed tremendously. I use to get food here all the time and it was amazing. The people back in Jamaica would be so disappointed in you guys. Time to search for a new place to eat some good Caribbean food. Don't waste your hard earned dollars here and I hope you guys aren't changing the recipe for a certain group of people across the road there.
