Tal Bagels New York Reviews
It's about a 15-minute walk from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. During weekdays, it's not crowded at noon, and you can choose a great window seat. The staff are very friendly (Bina is very considerate and helped me select the meal❤️). The bagel is big, delicious and it's a great dining experience.
Great NY bagels. Still hot and just the right crust/chewey consistently. We had PopUp the day before and they were too airy.
I ordered the smoked salmon and it was so delicious. I didn’t think I would be so full with a bagel but it was very well served. Ate one half at the restaurant and the other half in central park. A very New Yorker experience I guess.
Tal Bagels is always located on a corner, which makes it a great spot. The floor-to-ceiling glass windows bring in tons of natural light, and you can see everything clearly from the outside, which already gives a good first impression. Once you walk in, everything runs smoothly. The crew is clearly well trained, organized, and efficient, and you can tell the place is well managed. The food is fresh, tasty, and consistently good. Overall, it’s easily one of the best café and bagel spots on the Upper East Side, reliable quality, great flow, and a solid neighborhood staple.
Just moved to the neighborhood and wanted to grab something quick from a nearby corner spot — ended up getting the pastrami bagel combo to go from Tal Bagels. Honestly… nothing else to say, just look at the photos. The pastrami is super tender, stacked insanely high, perfectly seasoned, and the whole thing just hits SO hard. Way better than I expected for a random quick stop. Absolutely delicious. This is definitely going to be one of my new go-to spots.
Not the cheapest bagel sandwich in Manhattan, but certainly delicious, and everything looks good. Fabulous salmon bagel with a small freshly squeezed OJ is $25, which I found reasonable, especially since they are 3 blocks from the main entrance of the Met. Whitefish bagel for $18 was a touch salty for my taste. Frequented by locals, I will return.
We stopped by this bagel shop while visiting from out of town and were immediately greeted with warm smiles and incredible hospitality. Even as non-locals, we felt right at home. We all ordered the special of the day and were not disappointed, the food was fresh, flavorful, and truly hit the spot. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Highly recommend this spot for both the food and the welcoming atmosphere!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a bagel restaurant in NYC that offers the best pastrami bagel. The combination of the flavorful pastrami and creamy, rich cream cheese was absolutely outstanding. The bagel itself was perfectly toasted and had a delightful chewiness to it. The pastrami was tender and packed with flavor, while the cream cheese added a smooth and tangy element to the overall taste. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients was evident in every bite. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made the lunch experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this bagel restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal in NYC.
Honestly, the bagels both looked and tasted delicious. I got the hot pastrami and it was so good. I’m a tourist, and the bagel definitely didn’t disappoint. My only concern was during dine-in: it wasn’t busy, but the tables were dirty and felt unsanitary. I’d recommend that the staff stay more on top of maintaining cleanliness. Overall, great food, just needs better attention to the dining area.
Great bagels, but they’re heavily prioritizing delivery orders on the weekend. No orders taken from a long line of customers for 10 min, everyone just watching a dozen delivery orders get prepared. Also may be the most expensive bagel in NYC. Recent interior refresh looks great though so I’m not saying it’s not justified.
Tal Bagels really delivered with their hot pastrami sandwich — absolutely delicious! The pastrami was perfectly fatty and peppered, full of flavor, and served hot just the way it should be. It hit all the right notes for a classic, satisfying deli sandwich. The only reason for not giving a full five stars is the overall atmosphere and service, which could be a bit more polished. But if you’re going for the food, especially that pastrami, you won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth a visit for a crave-worthy bite!
Super honest review here: The roast beef and bagels looked amazing. BUT It took 20 minutes to get it during a not so busy time. 6 people in line AFTER us. Not a fan of inefficiency. Another guy was ahead of us waiting 10 minutes for coffee. If you have the time, it seems like it could be a great bagel spot. If you are in a hurry or just need efficiency, maybe not the place. The staff was thoughtful and pleasant still… they gave a free treat to our boys on the way out. I think I will go try it again to bring the bagels home on a slower morning and see if the experience is any different. It could have been a training day; I’m not certain. But the non-busy (seemingly) wait definitely affected the experience.
