Tom & Jerry New York Reviews
This is such a nice little bar in a neighborhood that is sort of losing. It’s small local places. I had a really lovely bartender whose name I did not catch unfortunately, but she was very kind and seemed to know a lot of the regulars. Excellent vibes.
Great local spot. The staff is always friendly, and they allow dogs which makes it an even nicer atmosphere. Highly recommend!
kinda a pain during the weekend when all the yuppies take their cabs downtown but great during the week / if it's not too packed : )
Ryan the bartender makes for a fabulous time. We enjoyed a couple carlsbergs and will be coming back for more to see him
We stopped here for a few drinks after dinner and had an amazing time. We met a few locals and a few other out-of-towners and enjoyed sharing stories. The drinks were fantastic, and if someone from Ireland was impressed with the taste of the Guinness, you know it is good! Great dive bar atmosphere. Don't forget to pick up your matchbooks!
I admit after reading the bad reviews I was hesitant but I still went on a rainy Saturday afternoon and man did i ahve a blast so much so that after having a few drinks, chatting with the bartender (Kevin) I took him up on his recommendation of RubiRosa and man it hit the spot so hard I went back. When i showed up i was the only one there but it quickly filled in. When i went back the place was slammed and still, got great service, was attended to by both Kevin and a new female bartender that was there. Had no issues no complaints and this is defintiely more a dive bar spot than some snooty cocktail place. you go grab a drink, laugh and shoot the shit and you bounce. I respect a place like this that holds its character and sometimes people just need to let a place be what it was meant to be. I look forward to visting again when I am back in town. Cheers!
Busy bar with good atmosphere. Only 1 server on the bar when we visited and it was quite busy. She did a great job and remembered our order for multiple rounds, despite serving multiple people at once. Great service!
If you’re not at T&J’s every weekend, what are you even doing? The new sound system hits so hard I think my bones are permanently bass-boosted. The music quality? Top-notch, crystal clear—I’ve heard live shows that sounded worse. Plus, the bartenders are legends, and the bouncer? Cool as hell, just out there keeping the peace. Oh, and $10 for a shot and beer? Feels like I’m getting away with something every time. Get there, get a drink, and let the music do the rest.
I'm in T&J's every weekend and they clearly updated their sound system and the quality is amazing. The music and friendly bartenders/bouncer create a wonderful ambience. The $10 shot and beer combos are hard to believe as well. I probably come here 3x a week and will continue until further notice.
Stopped here for a drink. Cute local pub highly recommend this place!
Truly the best Diet Coke I’ve ever had in my life. Great ambiance with music not too loud. Stools are too high but other than that it’s perfect
Good vibes and beer, good decor, and great bartenders. The bathrooms can get pretty disgusting on crowded nights and the clientele of the bar is 50/50 split of cool people and insufferable people. Go here with friends
Blaah!!! Resembles a bar … but without anything resembling a soul. High priced drinks and boring people. Zero authentic character.
The perfect bar to drink at if you have a fake ID! If you are underage and looking to drink this is the bar for you. A group of 20 year old guys talking about graduating high school last year should be a red flag for most bars, but this one loves it! Security saying things like, “if they are 18 they are legal” is the perfect way to encourage a night out. If you’re a grown adult looking for a drink, beware of this bar. The only service you will get is if you’re under 21!
23 plus with no warning. my legal friends and i were denied. should be advertised in advance
This bar has a terrible issue with pickpocketing. On top of getting our phones stolen, the bouncer was rude and laid hands on a woman and threw her to the ground. He seemed to be in on the pickpocketing and let the man who stole the phones run out of the bar.
I generally like this place but after my experience last month I will not be coming back. (Late review, but it’s still been on my mind just how bad of experience this was.) I stood waiting to order a drink for over 10 minutes. I finally got the bartender’s attention (blonde man), but when he came over to me, before I could even say anything, he really aggressively told me that, “I’m standing right in front of you, what do you want (except he used words which would make this review get taken down).” I have dealt with rude bartenders before and understand some people have off nights but I honestly was so stunned by this unprompted hostility that was beyond anything I’ve experienced when out in the city that I declined to order anything and left with my friends. Upon looking at older reviews, it seems like others have had very similar experiences with presumably the same bartender.
I wanted to love Tom & Jerry's so badly, but it was a massive let down. It appeared to be a super cute and vibey spot, but unfortunately the online photos are the only positive. The staff couldn't be less friendly which made for a hostile experience on a friend's birthday. A few low lights include: blatantly ignoring customers who are just trying to have fun and order drinks (another group was talking about this too as we were leaving); overcharging for mixed shots simply because they can; having an unnecessary and averse reaction to a birthday song request; refusing a cash tip because they were so committed to their shiesty bit. Not one to complain, but I've never been so taken back by service in my 4 years of living here.
Well! Wish there was a possibility to leave 0 stars, but sadly that isn't an option. I have never experienced such poor taste and classless employees before (and that is being generous). Let me outline some of the unforunate events below: 1. The bartenders ignored my friends and I for simply asking to put on a birthday song for a friend (as her birthday was in 5 minutes). 2. When asked for drinks/shots, they refused to listen and serve us. 3. When asked for "THREE shots", the bartender screamed "No, I'm not giving you 'FREE shots'" followed by an insane amount of eye rolls. 4. Was most definitely overcharged as 3 mixed shots shouldn't have been $45. 5. Was proceeding to leave cash as a tip (because I am in the service industry and believe in good tip culture), but my money "wasn't wanted" and it was turned away. To management - I'd probably start taking the hiring process a bit more seriously as you have made some poor choices with some of the people who run your bar. This sentiment was also shared by multiple groups of people on our way out, agreeing with the lack of professionalism that they also unfortunately encountered. Do better.
