Food was excellent and our server was very friendly! First time here, will definitely be back.
Without a doubt, the best breakfast I've had in Newburgh. Everything is fresh, service is fast, staff is friendly.
Had a great brunch. The food is amazing. Soooooooooo yummy. The taste of home.
Always great! Really enjoyed the crab cake special today with a chocolate chip pancake, yum!
Food is always delicious! Super friendly staff! Great place!
Fresh, organic produce. Speciality bread-- lemon blueberry muffin was amazing. Great spot for locals
Food was delicious and staff were super friendly! A delight for sure 👍
Friendly, great food freshly made from clean local sources. One of my favorite places when we ride.
Breakfast was awesome and staff was great. Corn and oat pancakes were delicious.
a great place to enjoy local and organic gourmet meals! donna and her crew are awesome.
Great food, great service, couldn't ask for a better breakfast!!
Went for lunch. It was delicious. Happy to see them open and keeping the quality.
Understated cafe with creative and we'll executed meal options. Definitely something for everyone. Great bang for the buck.
Traveling to Canada and found this GEM! The people and food are amazing! Everything is fresh and made in house! Love it!
Best food in Cornwall. Great coffee. Friendly service. Cheerful spot.
I had pork chops cooked with peaches with corn fritters and green beans grown in the chef's garden. It was DELICIOUS! Not to mention the outrageously DIVINE home made butterscotch pudding with whipped cream!
The homemade meatloaf was more like a chop steak than hamburger. Burnt onion gravy ridiculously good. Meatloaf at a gourmet level Great display space for local artists with monthly change of artwork.
Excellent.Blueberry pancakes are my breakfast of choice when out. These were the best in recent memory. Monica was also very attentive in checking on us.
I have been here a few times and they never disappoint! Excellent food and desserts! Staff are so nice and the atmosphere is friendly.
Fresh home made food. Loved everything about the place. The waiters / waitresses are pleasant. The coffee and the fresh donuts are delicious. I give it 10 out of 5 stars!!! Yes 10!!!
Fantastic food. The owner and staff are so friendly, helpful and down to earth. Theu have so many gluten free options for daughters and I. I highly reccomend eating here.
Always a perfect spot for breakfast, the food and service are always perfect and never a disappointment! The new dinner hours are great and their menu is exceptional! So worth it
Phenomenal place. The service was impeccable, the food: both inventive and fresh. Finally a brunch place in Newburgh that cares a lot and stand above the rest! We will be back
This place is great. Waitstaff is excellent and the food is even better. They have variety and some style. Blows any other restaurant in town of newburgh out of the water.
Very nice restaurant with great service and excellent quality and great staff. My only concern is that the tables a little too close to each other. A little bit more room in between the tables would be nice.
Best vegan brunch spot in the area . The waitress is very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly! I will be returning soon.
Found this gem on a recent visit. Food was delicious and fresh, gluten free pancakes were delicious! Services was great.
The breakfast nachos were amazing! Glad my husband and I decided to split the dish…it was huge! Will be back!
This is a great friendly little place that we came upon. The food was awesome and fresh. Next time we visit we will definitely go back here.
Very inventive menu everything is delicious very friendly outstanding service. If you want to eat well breakfast lunch and dinner you can't go wrong
What a great little cafe with excellent options from traditional to healthy. Service and food are outstanding and this new location has much better parking availability.
All 3 of us enjoyed our meals there. Great find. Will definitely return!
Nice, accommodating waitstaff. HUGE pancakes. Very delicious food. We are definitely going back!
That Mexican Benedict eggs, with chorizo, was delicious 😋, and their fresh orange juice is so silky. I'll go again.
Excellent hollandaise sauce. Poached egg perfection! Do not leave before gorging on the devine corned beef hash.
You walk into this small town cafe like its good home cooking they have something on there menu in drinks called blueberry lemonade it taste great and fresh it like a flavor explosion then I ordered breakfast burrito it was amazing with hashbrownss the best hashbrowns in the Hudson valley other person order omelet and enjoyed it will definitely be back once again
We went here for lunch while visiting our daughter. This is her favorite restaurant that she always talks about.....I can see why. Everything was amazing and the staff is so very nice.
Hudson Street Cafe is an absolute delight that has captured my taste buds and heart with its charming ambiance and delectable cuisine. This hidden culinary gem nestled in New York offers a memorable dining experience that leaves you craving for more. Upon entering Hudson Street Cafe, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cozy interior, adorned with local art and rustic accents, sets the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable meal. Now, let's talk about the star of the show - the food. Hudson Street Cafe's menu is a fusion of classic comfort dishes and inventive culinary creations, each one crafted with care and attention to detail.
It's our first time here and we love it! I ordered the Breakfast nachos, it was huge! Definitely it's a dish to share. But really blow my mind it was a lavender blueberry bread. I haven't tried lavender bread before, but let me tell you that was a new really great experience! The flavor will take you out of this world! This is what I like to explore new places, you never known what fantastic food you are going to find. We are definitively coming back to try more things here.
Do not miss this place! From scratch food. Great quality, fresh ingredients. Best hash browns I've ever had from a restaurant! From Ohio but we will be coming back whenever we are passing through.
We were at shake and grind coffee house right next door. Both places help each other. Great story. Coffee Expresso was great and gf loves the chocolate favor in hers. All blended perfect with a butter croissant and cheese danish. Stop by and enjoy. Really nice people
Popped in to get something to go. Specials of the day had a corned beef Ruben. Ordered and stopped at the Shake and Grind (also 5 ☆) for a coffee. When I came back for my order, I met Donna, owner and chef. She is so delightful! The restaurant is cozy and quaint, but the most incredible was when I got home and opened the container....piled high corned beef, red cabbage, melted swiss on lightly toasted rye and crispy fries. I have to say, I have never had red cabbage on a Ruben, but oh my, so delicious. A must try!!
Loved our dinner tonight. The cocktails and wine we're delicious. Loved the crab cakes, and our entrees. We were also happy to see the old dinner favorites, meat loaf and fried chicken. We will be back. Service as always perfect.
The food was delicious, service was good and friendly, environment very laid-back and clean. I liked they had a vast menu, simple basics or something fancier choices for everyone including kids. I would definitely recommend
Great little Cafe! My husband and I lunched today in Newburgh on Route 52. The menu is refreshingly small with a nice twist on classic fares. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. We enjoyed a quick but not rushed work day lunch. We will be back!
We stopped in for early morning breakfast and loved it. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and helpful. I'm surprised there weren't more people in for breakfast! Huevos rancheros are out of this world. Coffee was delicious. We took a to go menu and will definitely be back!
Been here twice so far, both times the breakfast was excellent . Seating is a tad tight but service is great and the food is fresh and well prepared. Several unique choices on the breakfast menu, I haven’t see elsewhere .
We liked their food!! I rely a lot on reviews and the reviews are what sent us here. My gf enjoyed the french toast, and I had an egg sandwich of some sort. Very yummy!!
I’ve eaten here many times and there’s always unique options on the menu that are executed wonderfully with fresh and organic items. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is charming and always changing with their display of artwork and photos from local artists. This is a local gem.
Such a wonderful place. I love the local art on the walls. It's always something different when going in. It is a bit pricey for breakfast but the taste and food speak for itself. Everything is spot on and I wouldn't change a thing !
The food was delish. My daughter and I really enjoyed ourselves. Not overly priced. The waitress was great. Over all 5 stars. Will be going back soon.
this place was super busy on mother's day and a wait staff called out. the other staff took it on the chin and were so lovely to everyone. the owners even helped out. the food was great too
I ordered tofu scramble with button mushrooms and kale and a side of tater tots and this was just perfect! Pancakes where delicious as well and the service was excellent. Worth the drive 🙃
I used to come here when they were located in Cornwall and I was estatic to find they moved to the town of Newburgh right across the street from me! Every time I come in the staff is always extremely accommodating to my dietary restrictions and always tweak some of their normal menu items for me upon request with a smile. Maggie, Emily and Donna in particular have gone above and beyond to ensure a good experience every time. Their food is fresh and delicious and the perfect place to come for breakfast, lunch or just some coffee. They also do food to go in case your in a rush and reservations are recommended for larger parties it seems although i havent made one and i have gotten seated every time. You will not be disappointed!
There are very few people on the planet that understand as much about food and flavor as Donna Hammond. The Hudson Street Cafe is a rare jewel we are so lucky to have in our backyard. She also is so considerate in adapting her offerings, in my case for celiac (gluten free). Not to be missed.
The definition of a hidden gem. While the settings are unimpressive, the service is immaculate and the breakfast is one of the best I’ve had on the Hudson Valley. Three cheers to great food
Great little gem tucked away in our neighborhood!!! The food is fantastic. If you go here, order the Hudson Valley roasted garlic plate. You will thank me later!
Such an charming little spot for breakfast. Some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered as well. Delicious food and warming drinks. Definitely worth a trip.
I had no idea this place even existed until my wife looked up brunch spots! Definitely a hidden gem, and it's so close to home I can't believe I didn't find it sooner! Came in for an early breakfast/brunch with my wife and sister and to start we got hot coffee, iced coffee, and a frozen chocolate drink. All were great, the coffee was fresh brewed for my second cup. The food was seriously delicious. Homemade chorizo! I built my own burrito with it and it was delicious! One of the best breakfast burritos I've had, and the homemade hot sauce they had made it all the better! My wife had the lox omelet which she said was delicious, and my sister had the power omelet (can't remember the exact name) Definitely a spot I want to come back too more often. Everything was cooked to order, and portions were definitely worth the price for the taste and quality!
What a gem...the food is absolutely delicious. I had the breakfast nachos which had in house made chorizo, fresh made tortilla chips, black beans, and fresh jalapeños. It was like the 4th of July in my mouth. Was reasonably priced especially for the quality of the food. They also offered me a 10% military discount which is always appreciated.
A cute little cafe, for sure. Usually pretty quiet, unless there's a loud party, and the one waitress there I see all the time is super sweet. Their country morning is AMAZING, I get it almost every time I go. Their orange juice is literally fresh squeezed, nice and pulpy and tastes like you're actually eating an orange. I recommend going early or at least not during a rush hour because they only have about 10 tables and they fill quickly.
We went on Saturday around 1230pm. It was busy..sign of some good grub! I like it's small friendly setting with good food. They have fresh squeezed OJ! We had the chocolate chip waffle special (which by the way was 2 🧇) and I had mayo pesto BLTA. The waitstaff was efficient and courteous. Definitely go back to try other menu dishes and specials of day.
From the food to the service, it's all amazing. The sweetest staff will make you feel right at home. Came here for breakfast on a weekend getaway, shortly before 9 am. Not very busy so you beat the rush (around 930 am it starts). I had the Mexican eggs Benedict and my fiance had the braised short rib tacos. AH-MAZING! We splurged and order a side of French toast...delectable. Coffee was fresh and comforting. Farm to table, even better, and they have vegan options. Highly recommend stopping in.
A real live good restaurant in the area! I’m unimpressed with nearly every local place for their lack of fresh ingredients, vegan options, and clearly canned/bagged/frozen/bought-in fare. This cafe offers a reprieve from the rest. This place should be the standard that local eateries should aspire. My only suggestion would be adding a kids breakfast option to the menu.
Friendly servers & staff. Fresh, local, delicious food. Interesting, cozy space. They seem to source as locally as possible. Even the yummy coffee is from a local roaster. Today was my second time there. Our server, Emily, was great. She tended to all her tables, just right (not too scarce, not too often). The food was outstanding. Daughter had a chocolate chip waffle- fluffy sweet treat, no need for anything on it. I was tempted to order from the brunch menu, but went with a simple yogurt parfait. It was the perfect ratio of fruit/ plain creamy yogurt/ with nice granola (seemed like homemade) and honey. French toast was perfect, organic oatmeal -the old fashioned kind (I didn't taste, but it looked like it might have been steel cut) -and it stayed hot 'til he was through with it. They even offer real maple syrup (it's extra $ because it's an expensive condiment- and to have this option is awesome). Local art adorns the walls, and even the restroom has interesting antiques. Highly recommend this place, worth the 25 minute drive.
Love, love, love this place. The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is attentive, the food is AMAZING! It has a slower paced feel which I love. I am not saying that they are unacceptably slow, but rather you don't feel rushed through your meal. You have time to enjoy the food, drinks, your company before the next course comes out. Their vegetarian food is exceptional, a real blend of flavors and creativity. Definately my favorite local cafe.
¡Chorizo casero! Me preparé mi propio burrito y estaba delicioso.
Altamente recomendado.
Very nice people was doing yoga next door heard the food is great haven't had the chance to eat since my accident.
food was good. service was slow they were very unorganized will give it another try.
Food came out quite slow. Hibiscus lemonade, bacon, and tator tots were the best.
Nice little Cafe the staff was very nice. We had breakfast and the food was ok.
Food was good, not out of this world, but good. My only knock on the place was that it looked very dated. Small, but it was okay. Service was extremely good.
Food was good. OJ tasted fresh squeezed (not sure if it was) but it was good. The food was def good. Crunchy hash browns hit the spot for sure. Little pricey. Lots of pictures of fish on the walls tho..... Hmmm. Anyway the fish pictures shouldnt be a deterrent. Stop in for breakfast or lunch.
Been going there for years (many years in Cornwall). Very disappointed about no real rye toast so I have been going other places. Bring back regular toast in a toaster and I will return. Otherwise the food is excellent but just maybe to much Mexican food.
The food is ok. The hostess is not very friendly or welcoming but the waitress have always been very pleasant. Expect to spend at least an hour there if you are getting breakfast at a table. Overall not a bad place for breakfast.
We were headed to have brunch and Mimosas, but it was 40 minutes away and the hubs was hungry. The Cafe was on my list and only 5 minutes away so we shifted gears and headed there instead. The coffee was very good and needed. Hubby got a breakfast burrito with eggs, spinach, cheese, homemade sausage and jalenpeno. I got the Hunter's scramble. We both got hashbrowns as our side. Service wasn't too fast, but it looked like everyone was doing something and when the food came... WOW! They make 2 hot sauces in house that are to die for - one red and one green. I should have brought some of it home, but it was too good and I cleaned my plate. It was on my list and I am so glad I got there for a wonderful breakfast.
Great breakfast; but coffee not great- they really need an espresso machine to offer fresh coffee drinks
The burrito was shmack but the eggs need more seasoning. And the hash browns need to be changed completely. Service was ok. The pancakes where alright.
Service was a bit slow. They did have a help wanted sign so I would hope it will improve. The food was excellent, if service was better I would give it another star.
Waited 25 minutes for 2 omelets and French toast. Tasted good but too way too long.
Food was ok. Service was ok. Sausage was dry and tasted like hamburger meat instead of sausage ($4 for 2 very small patties). The parfait was good, and my son liked his pancake. I had eggs Benedict, which was ok... not there best I've had. My husband ordered huevos rancheros, and he was disappointed because it came with black beans instead off refried beans, so he didn't eat all of his food.
I went with my mom yesterday and got the strawberry pancakes and hibiscus lemonade (which was extremely sour). Our waiter, Moses, was very friendly and didn't seem to mind that my mom and I continued to send him back to the kitchen.
La comida es muy grasosa
Good food. Just slow service. 1hr to get pancakes, sort of ridiculous.
Place looks abandoned. No sign on door. No updates online to avoid 30mins wasting my time to get there.
Disappointed with the food… we got a breakfast special with plantains, cheese, chorizo and it was lackluster and bland. The other pictures previous patrons posted do not match my experience.
Ordered To Go food. The wait staff was helpful however the food took over an hour and the order wasn't 100% correct. The waitress was very apologetic and helpful however service could use some help
The food was good and worth the price, but it definitely was not worth the wait. My family and I waited over an hour for our food and waited too long before being asked for our drink order.
Food is usually good. Friday it was like another restaurant completely.. Service and food were terrible The chicken salad was sour and the chicken sandwich had no taste at all. Even the ice tea was bitter. Hopefully they will get it under control before its too late.
First time here- Took close to hour and half to get breakfast for two people. Two groups that were seated down after us, ate, paid and left before we saw our food. Food was good after.
Took 30 minutes to server and the food was absolutely horrible, service was mediocre my disabled dog could make better food.
Went two different times and not only was the wait staff rude, but the manager too. Made rude comments about my weight. I will never ever go back there!
Well the food use to be decent but now…Food was mediocre as hell. Service was absolutely terrible. We waited so long just to be served food my dog could of made me at home. Beyond disappointed and will never come back. Y’all need to learn how to respect people’s time and season the damn eggs.
