Zulimar Restaurant Newburgh Reviews
Delicious baleadas! Always kind workers and food is done at a reasonable time! Honduran food here is awesome!
Quite possibly the best baleadas in New York!
Zulimar is a hidden Newburgh gem. The space is clean and tidy. The owners here clearly care about their business as the place is immaculate. The food ... Simply impressive. Every dish I have ever gotten from here has been delectable, from the fried chicken to the platanos, to the tacos. All of it is amazing. I highly recommend this spot for an authentic Central American culinary experience
best of the best, you can it’s family recipes they are using. traditional and fresh😊 always go when traveling to nearby areas
I visited Zulimar and tried their Pollo con Tajadas (Honduran-style fried chicken) wow, absolutely delicious! Perfectly seasoned and crispy, just like it should be. I also had the sopa de mariscos, which was super flavorful and comforting. The broth was amazing! If I had one small suggestion, it would be to have a better balance of seafood versus veggies and imitation crab in the bowl. Still, I really enjoyed the soup and appreciated the heart they put into the food. I'll definitely be coming back. Great spot for authentic Honduran cuisine!
This was absolutely a great place for good Honduran food. The service was great and food awesome. I highly recommend it for a great central American culture experience.
Good selection of food at a good price. They have a small vegetarian list on the back of the menu. The baleadas are delish and recommended by my Honduran friends.
First visit was today and already looking forward to returning. I’ve never had Honduran food before but my ex-father in law was from British Honduras and my son wanted to try the food. It really was worth stopping in for. Friendly, clean, priced well and gosh darn tasty.
This place is one of the best Honduran restaurants around. I have to drive an hour away to eat here but my husband appreciates it every time we go and so do I. Authentic dishes like the fried chicken with all the fixings. Love the tamalitos and baleadas!
Good food, friendly staff and good prices
Can’t wait to go back. The best part? Some of the menu options were very affordable. We paid about $4.00 for each plate but keep in mind, it came with no sides but still filling! The drinks were actually my favorite part. We tried different juices such as maracuya (passion fruit) and mora (blackberry). We also liked the chips that were served as a starter. It has a small flame to keep the chips and beans warm. The worst part? The only part I didn’t like was that I had asked for my dish with no cheese and when they started serving plates, the waitresses were opening each tortilla with bare hands to check which one was mine. Other then that, it was a good experience and I’d go back for sure cause the food was great.
The baliadas were really good today. Always have enjoyed eating here. Must speak Spanish to order food, I don't but luckily one of my friends did so it went smoothly. I wouldn't go there without someone who spoke Spanish very friendly but hard to converse and order food. Soccer games on 2 big screens is a plus
Very Different food if you like to try Honduras 🇭🇳 food go for it
For this restaurant to have 4.5 stars, is hard to believe. Ladies if you want a great experience from your server it’s not here. The ladies smile and have a sense of humor when it comes to the men only. I’ve came here twice and realized that from my first experience with my business team. Today I came on my own and wow but wow what a change. It’s a shame to the owner and to how they treat others(females). I ordered two bailadas and since I’m from a different country I was honest and stated I’m “uneducated in what your country puts in this dish”, the lady was so rude in telling me the difference in numbers of dish of what comes in them. I requested certain things off the dish and stated I couldn’t do that! Like what?. On top of that they made it the way I wanted but 20-25 min wait on a early Thursday morning. RIDICULOUS! When I opened it in the Car it was COLD! I decided to go to The Patio. A lot better service and food never again going to Zulimar!
