Benvenuti's Norman Reviews
Truly delicious food! So many enticing options that it was difficult to decide. I tried a bite of every dish at the table, and I would have been happy to finish any of them. The same can be said for their wonderful cocktails. Pictured is the Chicken Marsala. The atmosphere was somewhat reduced by the tightness of the seating, with two chairs backed into the busy dining room, and another couple seated within arms reach of those sitting on the bench. However, service was fantastic, and it was easy to hear my company at the table. I recommend reserving in advance, as it was absolutely packed on the evening that I attended.
It took me way too long to enjoy a meal here. Of course we choose a super busy weekend. Homecoming for OU. What a fantastic place to have a meal. We opted to order the fresh loaf of bread and 3 entrée. We really wanted pasta. But, when we saw the ribeye offering. We knew we had to have it. Corbin was our server. And he partnered with Allie. They were a dynamic duo. We felt as if we were there only customers. We witnessed them make the rounds to all their tables. So we knew better. We felt as if we were very special guest in their dinning room and were given the best table in the house. This restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Or even a meal when you have no idea what you want. Thank you to the Chef and staff for more than a meal. An experience we will never forget.
We’re relatively new to Norman and tried Benvenuti’s for the first time yesterday (12/5) to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary — and it was truly wonderful! Everyone was so kind, the service was incredible, and the food was absolutely delicious. We ordered the veal pasta special and the Pasta from Hell, and both dishes were packed with flavor and incredibly filling. A special shout-out to Eliana (our server) and Tyler (the manager). Your kindness made our night feel so special. Thank you for giving us such a memorable anniversary dinner. We can’t wait to come back!
We had a nice family dinner here. The food was excellent. We all got a bit too stuffed on the focaccia before the mains came. The parmesan spread on the charcuterie board is dangerously good. The outdoor area is a little loud, lots of hard surfaces with nowhere for the sound to absorb. The service was friendly and prompt.
The food was very good as expected. The pasta was one of my wife's favorite and the pizza was delicious as well. We want to go back again for another date. Higher price on the food but for the quality it's to be expected! We were very happy with our experience.
Benvenuti's has been on my bucket list for awhile. We finally went tonight. Ella was amazing. Knowledgeable and attentive. The food was top notch. We thoroughly enjoyed everything. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the amazing spring weather while eating the most amazing dishes. A definite must if you find yourself in Norman.
Very nice elegant upscale restaurant. Had dinner with some friends in the red room which was small more private with 4 tables, it was different but very dark. Later on they turned on the lights to brighten it up. Bruschetta was the best I've had that I was taken back. Different than anywhere else but better. The pizza was very good I would've ordered something more unique but she was craving pizza, good heat and flavor. The lamb was very good but the potatoes that came with them were out of this world I mean just phenomenal. I was full but wasn't leaving any potatoes behind. We had a show and we were running short on time I asked the waitress how long it would take and she said I'll ask the chef to work on our meals first and they came right out with them shortly after. Great service, great food, great ambience would love to return.
We made a reservation for a Saturday night and our table was ready to go as soon as we arrived. Food was delicious. I had the beef tenderloin, garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband had the lobster ravioli and we had calamari for an appetizer. The only issue we had was we were sat by the door to the kitchen so it was very busy and loud at times but that was minor. I would definitely recommend for a date night.
We went to Benvenuti’s in Norman because it was our 17th wedding anniversary and we wanted to avoid having to drive all the way to Oklahoma City in order to have a fancy dinner. Benvenuti’s is the fanciest restaurant in Norman and for a good reason: the interior feels romantic-luxurious, the food is delicious, the menu options are numerous, the cocktails are perfectly mixed and the service is impeccable. We went with the idea of ordering the crab claws, from friends’ recommendation, but had to try the sea bass and the lamb chops, as they looked incredible. And they were great, particularly the lamb chops, the best lamb I ever tasted. Special mention to the bartender who made perfect dirty martinis and perfect old fashioned. These are rarely done right. We also thought the waiting staff did an excellent job advising us and taking care of us. Finally, the reservation process was very good on their website and we had several options for sitting: the bistro area is by the front door, on high tables; the main dining area is dark and romantic but we did not have a good experience there in the past, as the darkness played tricks with our eyes; there is a patio area that looks very interesting and definitely worth trying during summer days. We ended up selecting the wine room. The wine room is beautifully decorated and the natural light from the windows felt really comfortable. Definitely our new go-to fancy restaurant.
Literally the best steak I have had in my life. Cooked perfectly and so tender you don’t even need a knife.
For Norman, this is a wonderful restaurant for any occasion. The service is top notch, the food is beautifully executed, and the atmosphere is cozy yet elegant. We enjoyed our visit for our son's birthday and couldn't have asked for a better experience.
First time here and was very pleased. We sat in an area with purple soft comfortable chairs, purple is my favorite color so it was a bonus. The atmosphere was warm with music playing overhead. Our server was excellent, she suggested a wine and allowed me to try a sample. The service we received was above excellent, there was about three other people that stopped by the table to top off our water and wine. Everything was soooo good. We spent more than we normally do but we were celebrating our anniversary and it was worth every penny. I will definitely be back.
We had a reservation around 5 on a Sunday although there were plenty of open tables. The server was very knowledgeable and pleasant the entire time. Other staff were bringing us fresh bread and refilling our drinks. We each had a glass of wine. My husband had Anthony's special pizza and I had the Bolognese which was so good!
Love this place. I never expected to find a place this good in Oklahoma, but glad I did. The arancinis here are some of my favorite. The Campanelle pasta is my favorite so far. 🥰 Food pictured: arancinis, Tuscan Wedge (pictured is half of the order), Campanelle, Chicken Marsala, and Spaghetti with Meatballs. I don't know how I lived here for 20 years and just discovered this place.
This restaurant is so good! Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. My husband and I had the Cacio e Peppe Arancini for appetizer, Lobster Mezzaluna and Veal Parmigiano for main course. All of it was so delicious and fresh! We will be back.
An Italian classic in Norman Oklahoma . Easily the best Italian restaurant in Oklahoma . The food is authentic Italian, with a variety of tasty options like the beef bolognese fresh pasta al forno , the seafood pasta , mushroom rigatoni . or the veal Parmesan. All served hot and in good portions . Wine selection is very solid . Atmosphere is inviting with indoor and outdoor seating . Nice bar area and seating . Service is courteous and friendly. Plenty of parking . You can stay late so don’t pay attention to the closing time at 9 pm . People stay until 10:30 +
homey, tasteful atmosphere serving up delicious italian food. great spot for a dinner date. they have gluten free pasta options and were very accommodating.
We loved everything! The food was delicious and there are a lot of options with authentic and unique flavors. The environment is perfect for a romantic dinner, the restaurant has several dinning areas including a nice terrace. The staff was very friendly and helpful, service was fast. The prices are fair. We will definitely come back. Also, if you are very concern about COVID-19. All staff wears masks and you have the option of disposable menus or RQ code to check the menu in your phone.
I visited Benvenuti's on a Sunday evening for my girlfriend's birthday. I reserved a table online, and added that the special occasion was a birthday. Once we arrived, we were greeted quickly, and brought to a table right next to the fireplace. I'm unsure if we were sat there for the occasion, but either way, we both loved it. Our service was excellent, and our waitress was able to provide great descriptions of the meals we asked about. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the bruscetta as our appetizer, and I had the mojito for my drink. My girlfriend had the lasagna, which she said was a bit salty, but I think it was the red sauce because we also had a pizza, and that was salty as well. The lasagna was still the best we've both ever had. I had the Campanelle, and it was so AMAZING, that I couldn't stop eating. We finished our night off with the tiramisu, creme brule, and a cappuccino. Best dessert and coffee I've ever had. I will 100% be going back, and I've already requested to be taken there for my birthday.
The antipasto was one of my favorite parts and the food tasted great while keeping the authentic Italian flavors. The atmosphere was very formal but not all of the customers, our only complaint was that it was a little hard to hear across the table.
My wife and I went here for dinner and booked a reservation on their website ahead of time. All of the staff that we interacted with were very welcoming and engaged including our waitress. We ordered the Bruschetta to start and I was pleasantly surprised by how big the proportion of cheese and tomato was on the crostinis. I ordered the Bolognese Al Forno which had shell pasta with lots of cheese, a red sauce, and some veggies. It came out piping hot and was delicious! My wife ordered the Chicken Marsala and enjoyed it. For dessert I had the creme brulee which was big in size but lacking in flavor. It wasn't bad but it could have better.
Had an absolutely phenomenal experience here! We love trying new restaurants and this was recommended by a friend - definitely does not disappoint. Even walking in, the outdoor patio area had little blankets on all the chairs in case you get chilly. What a pleasant touch! We ordered a little bit of everything. The bruschetta is incredible, the combination of flavors and the preparation is sublime. I really enjoyed the carpaccio, as well. We weren’t a huge fan of the mussels, but that was personal taste. The mussels themselves and the sauce itself was lovely, we just prefer a more french style mussel. The salads were pretty average, but well presented. I am totally forgetting the name of the pasta we got, but it had lobster and was basically one giant ravioli. It was not our favorite. Flavor was good, but it was very, very rich. Definitely want to try a different one next time. I got the lamb and my husband got the Kobe steak. I wish I would have asked for my lamb medium rare - it was slightly over cooked and needed salt but other than that was great! The potatoes were amazing as well! And my husband’s steak was phenomenal. His sides were delicious as well. For dessert we got the creme brûlée and the little banana tarts. The creme brûlée was pretty good and the tarts were SO GOOD. It was like a little biscuit boat filled with banana pudding. I loved it. Our server, Jordan (I believe) was also incredible. He’s very passionate about food and knew exactly what he was talking about. All his recommendations were spot on and he recommended an “off menu” dessert drink called the amaretto cookie that was so delicious! If you ever go to Benvenutti’s, ask for him. We will definitely be back! 11/10!
First time visiting Benvenuti's tonight. Made reservation ahead of time. They text when your table is ready, which was nice. Server was attentive (aside from keeping drinks filled) and was friendly. It was very loud in the restaurant (several large parties), but maybe that's not normal. Food was wonderful. Highly recommend trying for yourself.
Probably 1 of my top, if not my top favorite Italian restaurants in Oklahoma. The restaurant has a great ambience Inside, lights are dim, it’s a romantic place for date night. Service is always great. Though this is an Italian restaurant, they’re known for their really great ribeyes(according to my in-laws), but we haven’t tried it for ourselves. So far, my husband has only ordered the lasagna, it’s hard to beat. Very delicious. I’ve had the Lobster Fazzoletti, which is delicious with a very rich creamy sauce with sheets of pasta and also, the mushroom rigatoni, add in Italian sausage, you won’t be disappointed!!
Really good food! Appetizer brushetta was amazing. Filet and sea bass were both really good the bees knees dessert they should sell curbside. Like you need to put it ok your bucket list
I'm embarrassed to say I've lived in the area since 1999... and yet this was only my first time eating here. I don't know when it opened but I should've tried it sooner. Appetizers: arancini and bruschetta The arancini was my favorite. And the sauces on it were incredible. Bruschetta was beautiful and a great combination of flavor. Salads: Caesar, House, and Wedge. The panchetta in the salads had incredible flavor. The creamy blue cheese was excellent. Bigger salads than I expected. The salad and a soup would have been a whole meal. Entrees: Mushroom Rigatoni (added chicken), Chicken Marsala, and Lasagna Every one of these were so good I had to pause after the first bites. I still think my rigatoni was the best of the three, but the chicken marsala was amazing too... and I don't even like chicken marsala. The carrot cake is the desert but I wasn't involved in it. Will definitely be back. I was trying to figure out when I can come back already. I'm this was probably the best food I've had in an Oklahoma restaurant personally.
Excellent bartender Cory 👍 pasta from Hell, asparagus,, Greco salad. All very good 😊 Old fashioned was very good 🥃
"Benvenutis nailed it" First time dining here. Stopped in tonight for a quick birthday dinner and left very happy. The service was excellent and what's excellent service without excellent food? Thankfully, they compliment one another well. I can't wait to go back.
Absolutley amazing. Their cocktails are on point and their steak was delicious. Our waitress was steller as well and the front of house was very polite with us even when we ran 10 minutes late to our reservation.
Took my wife for her birthday. Everything was outstanding. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. In a short list of the best restaurants in the OKC metro area.
The GM, Justin, was amazing! We had accidentally booked the wrong date, and when I called to request a specific spot, we realized the mix-up. He wasn’t able to confirm the change over the phone, but when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to be seated exactly where we wanted. The food was, as always, incredible, and the atmosphere was such a vibe. We had the best night!
They have the best sea bass we have ever had. They also make a little square crispy layered potato side dish that I dream about. Wonderful bruschetta and creme brulee for dessert. This is our favorite fine dining restaurant in Norman, really...anywhere!
Benvenuti's Ristorante in Norman, OK. Is a must to visit every time we are in town, we enjoy the Chicken Marsala, the Chicken Piccata, the Gamberetti dinner, calamari and dessert, creme brulee, zeppole this time our server Tatum W was on top of his game he provided excellent service and attention, truly recommended.
We love the delicious food, the ambiance and the wonderful service. Bienvenutis never disappoints. We often meet friends here for dinner. Our server was extremely conscientious and allowed us time between the starter and the main course. The bread was as always, fresh and delicious. Our bruschetta had the satisfying crunch topped by creamy mozzarella and a swirl of tomato. Delicious! The vegetale pizza was incredibly fresh and tasty. The chicken piccatta had just the right amount of tart and briny flavor. The chicken was cooked to perfection and most definitely enjoyed. Always pleased when the server doesn't just offer dessert recommendations but remembers to ask if you would enjoy a coffee. The carrot cakes was superb ! Another outstanding, pleasurable meal with good friends, great service . Thanks Bienvenutis !
Corban was amazing!! We had a wonderful time celebrating our friend group’s 40th birthdays!! We was very accomodating. Wonderful food!
Highly recommend! Me, my wife and daughter had a reservation for Valentines Day at 7pm…so we thought. The reservation was mistakenly made for March 14, not Feb 14th (our mistake)! There we were standing there on Valentines night with the wrong reservation. Not to worry, Justin (Manager) quickly figured out a solution and was able to get a table set up for us miraculously!!! Going way beyond! Saved our night as we were in town from Dallas visiting our daughter. I figured we’d just order a pizza and go back to our hotel room. Nope, Justin pulled it off for us. And, the food was outstanding!!! Service was excellent and accommodating. Thank you Justin and staff for making our Valentines special!
We have eaten here many times since moving to Norman 3 years ago. Easily one of the nicer places from a service, atmosphere and overall food and beverage point of view. Yes it can be on the 'High side $$ wise' but you can also chose some of the more affordable items on the menu and still have an excellent meal. One of the restaurants on our rotation here in Norman. The Veal Parm, Lobster Ravioli, any of the steaks, and the Pasta from Hell are all especially good. Enjoy!
I have visited this restaurant several times, and each experience has been consistently positive. I usually order the lasagna, which is delicious every time. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are very reasonable. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The only potential drawback is parking, as the on-site lot is quite small and the restaurant is located in a busy area; however, additional parking is available down the street.
A foodie must, if you like great food and lots of options dine here. Be sure to try the Pasta from Hell, a spicy dish and very savory. Enjoy an evening with friends or family and start your dining experience with a cold cocktail.
Fantastic service, food, wait staff! We went for a celebratory dinner and it was absolutely delicious. The special sour dough bread with the tomato basil spread was amazing. All of our entrees were excellent. First time there, won’t be the last!
We chose Benvenuti’s to celebrate our 34th wedding Anniversary. What a great choice! Our waiter (Raymond) was not only knowledgeable he made sure we had a great experience. His service and suggestions were spot on. The polaroid photo and card were an especially nice touch. This restaurant is our favorite!!
I recently dined here for the first time, and while the food itself was quite good, the overall experience left a bit to be desired—especially considering the higher price point. The menu offered a variety of appealing options, and the dishes we ordered were flavorful and well-presented. However, several service-related issues made the evening less enjoyable than it could have been. From the beginning, there seemed to be some confusion with the tables. Our orders were mixed up multiple times with the party seated next to us, resulting in us being served their dishes and vice versa. To add to that, the first glass of wine we received wasn’t the type we ordered, so we ended up waiting even longer for the correct one to arrive. While mistakes happen, the repeated mix-ups made the experience feel disorganized. We started with the calamari, which unfortunately was on the rubbery side and not as tender as we had hoped. What made things a bit more uncomfortable was the timing of service—our entrées were brought out before we had even made it halfway through the appetizer, leaving us with an overcrowded and cramped table. Since it was a first date, we had requested a more private seating area when we arrived. Despite having made reservations well in advance, the only alternative offered was a high-top table. We ended up seated at a small two-top placed in the center of the dining room, surrounded closely by other tables, which didn’t allow for any sense of intimacy or comfort. Overall, I would rate the food a generous 4 stars, as the flavors were enjoyable and the quality was evident. However, the atmosphere earns closer to a 3 due to the tight seating arrangement, lack of privacy, and service hiccups that should ideally be smoother for a restaurant in this price range. With a few improvements in service flow and seating accommodations, this could easily be a standout dining spot.
Food was big on taste, less on presentation. Service was the low point. Easy 5 stars if we didn't need to ask for literally everything. We couldn't figure out if they were simply short on staff or if we just drew the short stick. Bread came after we asked and then it was 1 whole piece served alone that we tore apart. We may just be spoiled with all the pesto and balsamic dips that frequent italian restaurants these days. After the food was delivered no one returned to offer parm or ask if we needed anything... until we asked. This continued right until we asked for the check. On a much higher note... The Pasta from Hell was the standout followed by the Goat cheese ravioli that tasted much better than it looked. Both of these dishes offered some unique flair and rich flavor to otherwise standard fare. And I love that they serve old fashioned Spaghetti and Meatballs which was at least a solid 4 out of 5. Based on a lack of engagement we skipped dessert. Our server was friendly just a bit absent. On another note, prices were more than reasonable especially with staple items.
Food is amazing--good servings good size. Nice romantic atmosphere. But horrible parking. Great wine selection.
I visited this restaurant Saturday night, and while the food itself was excellent, the experience was a bit mixed. Upon arrival, even though I had a reservation, we showed up about 15 minutes early. The hostess pointed out that we were early and would need to wait—which was fine—but the comment felt a bit unnecessary and set an odd tone for the start of the evening. The dishes were truly impressive—so flavorful that even after waiting and having to take the meal to go, it was still amazing. The kitchen clearly knows what they’re doing. Service, however, left room for improvement. Our server was friendly enough, but we ended up waiting over an hour for our food. When we mentioned that we had other plans and needed to leave soon, we were told our order had been placed after a very large party, which explained the delay. Still, it was confusing to see guests seated after us receive their meals first, and we didn’t get much of an explanation. I don’t want to assume the ticket was forgotten, but it certainly felt that way. Once we asked to have the food boxed up, the staff did take care of it quickly. But even after the check was dropped off, it took a while to actually pay because the server disappeared again. Overall, the food was outstanding, but the service timing definitely needs some attention.
Went to this restaurant tonight after hearing this was a great place to eat. Well....eh, it was okay. Chicken Marsala was not very flavorful (pictured). I also posted the arancini picture, because it was probably the best bite of the night. Had a bite of my wife's spaghetti and meatballs. It was just okay. Antipasta was pretty good. Beware!! There is a reason why they don't post the prices on some of the mixed drinks. To preface my experience, I don't hardly ever drink. I decided, "what the heck, I'll order one tonight." $18 for an old fashioned. It wasn't even near the best I've had. When a drink costs almost as much as an entree, there is something wrong. This place was definitely a one and done. Definitely wouldn't go back. It was disappointing. There are many better places for a heightened value and superior flavors.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and it was a nice place to spend an evening with friends. We had reservations, but still ended up waiting about 30 minutes for a table, even though they take bookings at 15 minute intervals. Once seated, our server was kind and attentive, but it took over an hour for our food to arrive because the restaurant was so busy. I didn’t mind the wait too much since we were chatting, but I was disappointed in my entrée. The Bolognese, which is normally served with homemade cavatelli, arrived with half cavatelli and half large, undercooked globs of pasta dough. I understand the kitchen was rushed, but “glob” isn’t a pasta shape. While the setting was pleasant and the staff handled the crowd as best they could, the food didn’t live up to expectations. I’m glad we tried it, but I probably wouldn’t return.
So loud you can't have a conversation with anyone at your table. So dark you have to turn on your phone flash to read the menu. The food was mediocre at best, especially for the price. While the server was good, she did skip completely over one member of our party when we ordered.
It used to be my family’s favorite restaurant, I feel the ownership has changed. Their menu has changed to the worse, service and expertise of the servers have taken a hit, table and condiments are not as clean as they should be , you are served one piece of bread for 4 people, you can taste the microwave in the food worse than Olive Garden. You are handed the check without asking for it, It’s very sad. The only authentic restaurant in Norman feels like has joined the corporate chains.
Been waiting for over 20minutes for service, no water in our cup nothing. I since it is a form of racism towards our table, we sat down and a couple showed up roughly 15minutes after us and got there appetizer and water before us, and it was until almost 40minutes of sitting at our table we finally managed to get our order in.
