Akbar's Restaurant

The food here was really good, good portion and can tell the food is fresh. The meat was tender and had amazing flavour. We had mixed grill, lamb and chicken charsi which happily filled 5 people. Had a few desserts which tasted fresh and delicious. The atmosphere was inviting, refreshing to look at and clean environment. The manager -Moshin was a wonderful manager, made us feel welcome! The service was great, they asked us how we were, how the food was often. At the end got a nice surprise of a cheesecake with sparklers for my dads birthday which was really lovely, we felt looked after and I will be retuning soon!

Shahid was exceptional! He was so attentive and we felt so looked after. The food was divine and ridiculously tasty… I was amazed at how much flavour they managed to get into the prawns dish. I would highly recommend Akbar’s especially our waiter Shahid !!! Thank you so much from a very happy customer 😃

The experience at Akbars Blackburn was truly outstanding, especially now that it's closer to Chorley. The restaurant has a fantastic setup with a well-planned design and layout, ensuring that each table offers complete privacy. The staff provides exceptional service, enhancing the overall enjoyment of the experience. The food is truly superb and lives up to its reputation as the 'King Of Curry'. It is definitely worth visiting more than once, as the experience only gets better with each visit. It's definitely value for money. Shabir has once again done remarkable work, with 25+ years of perfecting curry dishes. All the staff, including Umar and Harry, are great.

Excellent customer service by a guy called Abdul. Food was excellent. Highly recommended it. Will definitely go again. VIP Room is just totally awesome. Shown by the greater named Ismail while we where waiting for our taxi. £35 Ahead. Set menu. Must have 10 or more people. Will be having my 60th there thanks to Isuail. Loving it.

Mohsin looked after us really well. Food and service are best around the Blackburn area. I can only think of two suggestions I would make to improve my experience. Smaller portions, as these were huge and free WiFi! Overall, it is a really excellent place and we will go back.

Our first trip to Akbars Blackburn, and it didn't disappoint. On arrival we were promptly greeted and shown to our booth. The seating and decor are so beautiful and the booths are a great set up. Our waitress, Aleksa was so good. She was quick with the drinks and poppadoms, attentive and friendly and made sure we had what we needed. She's a great asset to the restaurant and her recommendations were appreciated. Other servers came to check we were happy and all were so friendly and attentive. Highly recommend, we will be back ❤️

Wow! Visited akbars in blackburn last night Didnt make a booking but they still gave us a table quickly The interior is amazing Food was lovely too Ordered for 3 poppadoms starters 2 curries and family naan and desserts 90 pounds which is fair for todays prices Shahid our waiter was very nice and helpful looked after us Very quick service and we were out after an hour Only thing is car parking was a nightmare So maybe search car parks beforehand

Met friends here for dinner. The food was really good, fresh and full of flavour. The service was really good and the waiters were really attentive and helpful. I would really recommend here, as the decor inside it really nice too.

My First time here tonight and all I can say is WOW, service is the best I have ever had and the food is second to none, all the family enjoyed it here even the two youngest children enjoyed the food. Definitely coming back

Shahid provided brilliant service. If you have been in you know the ambience is great! Ok let’s get to the main thing the food! Starters were great we had the mix grill which we requested and they made an exception as it was a special night, all the flavours were fabulous and it left us all licking our lips for more! All the guys there provided an excellent service

The food choice is great. There is a whole section for vegetarians and a section of unusual dishes you won't find in a standard Indian restaurant. The service was great, really friendly. The decor and atmosphere was brilliant. Definitely recommend!

First time dining here. Friendly, welcoming service. Great , flavoursome food, the family nàan is a spectacle and tastes as good as it looks! Great selection of menu options. Bold, colourful , modern decor. The staff were kind enough to change the music for us too. Would visit again.

The service from shahid was first class. He recommended very tasty dishes. The charsi chicken was very good. Lamb chops and kebabs excellent. Nice atmosphere and excellent mocktails

Good food went for works meal. Ordered charsi karahi lamb and chicken and lamb chops seekh kebab and chicken tikka. Starter were all good but the chops and chicken tikka was better. We got upgraded to the vip area for free as there was 13 of us. Good staff and the manager was great.

We had a fantastic meal here at Akbars been before to the one in Bradford but decided to try Nlackburn as it's a lot nearer to us. Excellent friendly staff , credit to Zain and Naz.

Everything was top class – we’ll definitely be back! Sidhu was incredibly professional and guided us to some excellent choices. If you’re in the area, the lamb kadai is an absolute must-try.

Shahid was very attentive, he conversed with us all and made my in laws 50th wedding anniversary meal special. Great food and service and such a wonderful atmosphere. Thanks, we will be back soon!

Absolutely love this place! We always come here it's our go to place! Managed to get us into the private room for a birthday celebration.. The service was bang on perfect, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere and food was perfect as usual! Shahid was the server for us tonight in the private room and he was brilliant! 5 stars all the way! I'd definitely recommend this place for a great night out for food or for a celebration!

Absolutely phenomenal. Came here after a show from out of town after seeing good reviews on Google maps: WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED! FYI the high ratings are NOT just for social media fans based on presentation or portable content, it was refreshing to see the high rating based on actual high quality food and service! And somehow at reasonable prices! P.s. best naan bread I've had in my life.

I would like to highlight the exceptional service provided by our waiter, Jang . Throughout our visit, he was incredibly attentive and consistently checked in to ensure we had everything we needed. His polite and friendly manner made the experience even more enjoyable. Jang went above and beyond, demonstrating truly outstanding customer service. We greatly appreciated his professionalism and warm demeanour. Overall the food was amazing and customer service even better to top it off .

Such an enjoyable dinner at Akbar’s, my first time there last night and it was so good. Such a laugh as well! Absolutely blown away by how amazing the service was by everyone who visited the table. Our waiter Sidhu was fantastic and so knowledgeable about the dishes. Top recommendations were the Samosa Chaat starter and the Charsi Chicken main🌶️ such generous portions, safe to say we are having it all again for dinner tonight as leftovers!

I have visited and dined in alot of Akbars restaurants, this one was one of the best due to it not being too busy and loud as taking the 2 children with us. I like my places that I visit to be not a full on music centre. The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. Staff was on hand to help and taking the order to bringing out the food. The food itself was nothing to fault enjoyed it to the last scoop Only thing i want to say is while im eating please dont take my food without asking, He then corrected his mistake straightaway, let that not be a negative as i just say it how it is but it didn’t spoil the evening the staff are much better than the other branches, i wonder if the bradford flagship manager reads this, if he does do you remember sitting us next to the toilet doors, well the experience was that bad i didn’t even do a review. Anyway back to the blackburn branch the location the staff the food was 100% Thankyou for the service provided. Even the waiter gave some chocolates to my little ones a small gesture goes a long way. I will be back when im in blackburn again.

A really good solid four star, the decor and lavish designs are exceptionally beautiful, with well spaces seating lending itself to a 5 star atmospher. Great place for eating out. The food was on par though, lovely spicing and well presented apart from not being a fan of having a curry frying pan placed on the table. Surely it could be in a more suitable receptacle for such a lavish restaurant? Mixed Grill was wonderful, battered fish was slightly undercooked but everything else was beautiful. Curries tasted lovely, full of flavour and not too much heat. Naan and chapatis were light and fluffy. You will eat well no doubt. Deserts are well presented and tasted lovely. Karak chai is lightly spiced but nice to drink. Prices are expectedly above average so overall a good 4 star maybe even 5. I have been to other Akbars such as Bradford Birmingham Manchester and this one in Blackburn comes somewhere near to the top.

We were welcomed at the door, which gave a promising first impression. It was a Sunday evening, and we were seated fairly quickly; no complaints there. However, the table was somewhat dirty, and a few of the utensils weren’t entirely clean, which was disappointing given the setting. The food itself was okay. The chicken and lamb karhi stood out, especially when paired with naan, and the chicken nambali was enjoyable. That said, the overall quality didn’t quite match the price point, and it left us questioning the value for money. One noticeable issue was the condiment presentation. The restaurant uses old Heinz ketchup bottles, but the contents clearly aren't Heinz; more like generic sachet-style ketchup in disguise. For a place that appears to position itself as classy, this kind of detail really undermines the experience. The waitstaff did check in during the meal, but their hospitality didn’t quite match the standards we’ve experienced elsewhere. They weren’t rude, just not particularly warm or attentive. All in all, it was an average dining experience. The food was decent, but not enough to make this a go-to spot for us.

Well what can i say, came for iftaar meal, first time coming, was expecting amazing dining experience like in the other akbars im used to, but it was pretty terrible We booked table, and we was first customers to come in on the day and order our food first, but at around iftaar time when everyones food was coming out we was the last table served, how does that work, there was bigger parties than us being served too so made no sense, big insult to our table, two of the people with us told us lets go, they wanted to leave, iftar was at 6:25pm, we receive food around 7 o clock just few minutes after. Was very frustrating for us. We was sat 5 of us on a 3 person table so it was very difficult to sit properly and even more of a headache to eat properly. Even the staff was struggling to figure out where to put our food, imagine if we all ordered one curry there wouldn't have been enough space to even put it on the table. We had to literally hold the naan in our laps at some points just to be able to eat. When asked if we could move to bigger table, they said all is booked, but then they sat people down in the bigger table without any bookings, theres even more evidence of this from previous review yesterday where someone said they got sat down without booking. Various times wrong food and drinks kept coming to our table, which i understand new place, new staff, new everything, it takes time to get used to, so i dont mind that. The next problem is the food i ordered normal not asian style, and my dish i asked for, was told would not be spicy anyways. When i eat the dish it was the spiciest dish on the table, and some of my friends ordered asian style and yet my one which was normal style was hotter, now mine and my friends stomach has been buggered since. Eating such spice on an empty stomach is very bad, which is why we ordered normal, so why they put the whole worlds spice in it i don't know. Had i not already had to wait such long time for the food i would have had them make me a new one, but since we got the food so late i just put up with it and now im suffering. The next thing is i ordered an extra rubicon guava, it never arrived, we finished our food, table got cleaned, and got our bill, but it never arrived still. So that was another problem as i was dying from the spicy food which shouldnt have been spicy. The next issue is some of the waiters didn't even get a chance to break their fast or eat anything, this one really upset me, especially the one who was serving us he was very nice man. You need to put a rota in schedule at iftaar time half staff go eat quickly, then switch over. This is how other restuarants do it, they are our muslim brothers and sisters too, look after them. All in all my first experience here was terrible, it could also be my last experience here. I do love what you done to the place bought life back into it, but theres a lot of things that need sorting here, i was invited here to come checkout the new place and this was just very awful, im sorry to say as it is, it doesn't deserve to be called akbars.

the worst food I have ever had! We ordered 3 egg fried rice, paneer pakkora, chicken pakkora and fish curry which costed us GBP60! egg fried rice - had a very bad oil taste, it was horrible! paneer pakkora - only 4 pieces of paneer were there in it! chicken pakkora - only 4 pieces... just a finger thick.. merely had any chicken in the chick pea flour coating! pure cheating! brinjal curry - atleast brinjal pieces were there on it but taste was extremely bad! fish curry (asian style) - no fish pieces at all on the gravy. The curry was meant to be cooked with fish minced? taste was horrible! We will never ever choose this restaurant again!

Went there today with my friends and it just wasn’t it. Service at front desk was calm but once we went to our table it was all downhill. Ordered and instantly starters came couldn’t complain but there was no sauces and drinks didn’t even come, till mid way through starters. We never got our sauce with the starters after asking them multiple times. The place want even busy it was quarter filled. Once main course came they served us freezing cold wet boiled rice that is just unacceptable. They changed it and still our sauces never came even when mains came out. Mid way yet again the manager it seemed went and got us mint sauce. I don’t know how many times we asked them but we genuinely had no hope even waiting but we couldn’t resist eating because we were starving. They did check up on us but no action was being done. Everything was nice the curries we had and naan but the whole mood wasn’t there and we felt like we made a mistake by going there. I hope they can change this around and learn from this.
