Very clean and was not busy for a Tuesday, the pizza was great not too crispy or too soft just right. The mojos and chicken were crispy as well. The staff was very helpful and polite. The game room is very small with a few games but was very fun to still play.

Not much has changed since I was a kid. The player piano is still there, not sure if it's just for show. The pizza, fried chicken and mojo potatoes tastes just like I remember. It's nice that some things stay the same.

The pizza was ok but could have better taste. The employees that were cleaning were friendly. Their game section was disappointing. Most of their arcade games were out of order. Their candy machine which was one of the one's actually working had old hard candy.

Went for the Bunch a Lunch, pizza and Mojos are my go to every time. Slow on refilling when food trays are empty, but the quality is good ( when did they change their mojo recipe though ?) Mac n cheese is best when it is fresh out, pasta was so/so, chicken was crispy, salad bar seemed stocked ( only got ranch from there). Outdated inside, the arcade is hardly one. Will probably order just pizza to go next time. $13.99 for adults and $1.35 per year (age) of child for the Bunch of Lunch ( drinks not included). Plenty of parking.

This place takes me back!!! Ordered the Garden Veggie and added Chicken Breast, a small side of Mojo Potatoes, and a an 805 beer to wash it all down. The piano still works but the teevees blasting sports kinda drown out the old timey music. Atmosphere is definitely different. Families still bring their young ones and there are games to play in the back parlor area. Clean. Original. Friendly staff & excellent service.

This is for all the Shakey's throughout California. Great Lunch Buffet. Great Fried Chicken and Pizza. My only complaint? They used to use fresh cut potatoes for their Mojos. Now they use frozen potatoes. They were much better when they used fresh cut potatoes.

What an amazing place. The food was absolutely amazing. The pizza and friend chicken were pretty good. I was supprised, but the chicken just fell right off the bone and basically just melted in my mouth, and the pizza was cheesy, and the crust was delicious. We ordered a Small Shakey's Special Pizza & a 1/2 order of Mojo Potatoes. The crust of the pizza was crisp. The cheese was gooey and the toppings were distributed evenly and combined together for a great bite. Mojo Potatoes are always a tasty treat. However, in this case they were lukewarm, but still good. It did however detracted from their deliciousness. If you're particular about your potatoes, make sure they are freshly made. It wasn't perfect, but it was a nice meal.

Lunch buffet 11/08/24 now (was $13.99/$14.99 ($12.49 M-F, $13.45 Sat & Sun.) Very cool inside, some seats have very strong cold air blowing directly on you. Pizza decent, fried and baked chicken good, MOJO potatoes good, pretty good salad bar. There's also mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, gravy, tomato sauce and beef/mushrooms/black olives/corn/bell pepper sauce that's really good, spaghetti, corn.

I would say after going to 3 of these Shakeys locations, I am burnt out off them bit for the time I went, I would say the food is solid. Since this is an original, it was more crowded than the 2 I went to in Torrance. I liked the old signage on the outside. I personally think Shakeys is CA pizza before NY style came to SoCal. The pizza reminds me like a better version of Round Table overall. I like the fried chicken sure, and the salad bar is great but I am kinda sick of the food at this point.

Went for nastalgia and was really surprised at how good the pizza and mojo's were. Next time I will ask for well done. Problem here for atmosphere is they had 65% of the dinning area was "Reserved" meaning people were having to stand and wait in crowed restaurant for 15 20 minutes just to sit down after ordering. Horrible situation should not be allowed to reserve or be inteserve for that long when people aren't there. The bus person there was awesome. Hustling had pride in everything he did treated each patronike they were important was great with kids and elderly he helped seat. Highlights good and bus person lows were the ungodly seating and waiting. May try the North Hollywood (hometown) instead next time.

We went to lunch where they have a buffet. Chicken was good they had fried and baked but primarily legs and thighs. The potatoes was cut too thin but was still tasty. The pizza looked good and my pepperoni was good. Didn't try the salad bar. They have spaghetti, mash potatoes, corn and mac and was worth trying. Over all would eat there again!

The pizza was delicious. A hot fresh pizza is always good. I feel this place could be a little bit more cleaner. The Tapatio sauce bottles on most tables were missing and the top was wide open and crusted with sauce.

We ate inside at Shakey’s “all-you-can-eat Bunch-A-Lunch.” The restaurant prepared and displayed an abundance of food choices. The deep-fried fried chicken was moist, but the coating tasted salty, and so did their mojo potatoes. The salad bar provided the usual salad fixings and dressings. We discovered during lunch that Shakey’s kitchen kept cooking and supplying us with hot chicken and pizza, and so, needless to say, we didn't leave the Shakey’s restaurant hungry.

Out of all the Shakey's in the Los Angeles area, this location is the most inconsitent! Pizza is hot, fresh and the crust a nice golden brown, with toppings fresh and hot. Or sometimes, they were sitting out far too long and the slices are way overdone. The chicken (roasted and fried - no white pieces) seem nicely done and plentiful. The bone-in chicken wings are a refreshing addition, with the sauce/topping varying from BBQ, Honey Glaze, Spicy or even Plain Crispy. (*note: white meat and chicken wings were removed by Corporate before N95Covid closure) Mojo potatoes or mashed (Brown gravy in this location.) Salad offerings seem fresh and filled - drinks are self serve except beer. Family friendly environment - very crowded place for lunch.

The food is always good. They were putting out fresh food as soon as they could make it for the bunch of lunch. People need to know to ask for a clean plate each time they go back for more.

It’s an older Shakey’s but it gets the “job done”. I am a fan of Shakey’s food and this location delivers the goods as far as the food. The arcade is a bit sad. Overall, if you like yummy fried chicken, mojos and pizza, you can get over the rest.

Lunch time is great, buffet is good different kinds of pizza, Mac and cheese smash potatoes chicken OH man all you can eat for 20 bucks such a deal.

Always delicious and pretty quick from ordering to table. Always, always, always have to order mojos and friend chicken with the pizza when you’re here, otherwise you’re missing out. This review is late and overdue but I love coming here! It’s very family friendly and room for the kids to move around if they need to. They have good dinner specials where you can get a personalized pizza with potatoes and chicken for a little under $13. If you don’t like pizza you can do the all you can eat salad bar for a little under $10. My favorite is coming on Sundays for the brunch Buffett where you can get a little bit of everything. They also put out their dessert pizza which is amazing! They have a couple of games in the back for the kids to earn tickets and win prizes but it’s a hit or miss of the games are working or not. Fun for the entire family!

My kids enjoyed their pan pizza I had the fried chicken and some potatoes. Hadn't been their since early 2000's most definitely the prices were awesome back then

I've enjoyed Shakey's Bunch of Lunch chicken and pizza buffet w/salad bar on occasion for 50 or 60 years. Still "okay" but, like everything else, the quality has gone down as the price went up. The chicken is where I notice the biggest decline...1st they quit giving you wings and breasts choice, only legs and thighs now. Now just recently, the size of the pieces has gone down making them not nearly as juicy and flavorful as broasted chicken should be. Maybe this is only one location but it's the only location near me.

I decided to get take out from this location as I do not visit the North Hollywood location anymore due to the surrounding neighborhood. This location however is located in a much safer neighborhood plus the location has a more retro look to its exterior. I'll be getting Shakey's again in the future from this location for as long as I live in the San Fernando Valley. The food has not changed much since I was a child who frequented Shakey's in the 1990s. The only thing I miss the most about a Shakey's is the arcade they used to have, at least the Huntington Park location had one. I also miss the old tables, chairs and piano music that played in the background. If you never had Shakey's before, I recommend trying it out once in a lifetime and then make your own assessment. I have met a few people who say they hate the pizza but I love the pizza. I put it on par with Dominos or Pizza Hut when made properly. Shakey's has always been a bit pricey but in this inflation it feels more expensive than it should be. I think it's still worth the price in 2024. 🍕

Everyone knows that Shakey's is famous for its pizzas, chicken and mojo and that's one of the reasons I keep coming back. But today 07/17/24 after work I went to the Northridge, California location and my pizza was not fresh, very hard dough and not to mention the fried chicken was very salty. Sad experience!

Alright, so it has been many years since I was here and the food never fails to satisfy! Great place and super busy! But well worth it, in these times things are hard and I know they are trying their best to keep up, but the bathrooms were pretty horrendous, I even said something to someone but they didn't do anything. Luckily I was able to go into the "gender neutral" bathroom and wash my hands before we ate.

The staff here is definitely not customer friendly. I could tell immediately by reading the tip note taped to the register. We asked to sit in the " fun stuff " area and were told there was an event happening there. It's 7pm currently as I type this and no event has happened yet. I'm also gonna assume there will be no event. Having a woman roll around a huge cart with a trash can is really not something you imagine when eating in a restaurant. I'm really not sure if that is neccessary. She was cleaning a few tables off and seemed to be the only one working. The manager was leaning on the counter just sipping her soda. Talking it up with her employees. The fixture that holds the prizes in the fun stuff area was broken and covered in plastic bags and tape. I'm not sure how safe that is. This restaurant has potential but looks like it's employees and management need some training. I hope corporate reads this review.

Very casual, food quality has changed. I was there for the lunch special. Mojos are still the best. Pizza is OK, chicken is only dark meat. Pasta is watery and the mashed potatoes and corn are bland. Steamed veggies were good.

My wife wanted to come here tonight for dinner. I never been to shankey and we had another place across the street in mind but since my wife saw the sign, she was craving this instead. I found parking alright in the plaza this place is in. When we walked inside, they weren't that busy at all. My wife already knew what she wanted and I looked at their menu. I went with the 12 piece wings, my wife got the medium size pepperoni pizza and added mushrooms along with the 2 piece fried chicken. They give us a number and we found a booth to sit in. I wasn't sure if they deliver the food to you or you have to go pick it up so I went to ask. They told me they will announce the order number when the food is ready. They don't have a speaker to announce it on so you'll have to pay attention. Later on, someone brought some of our food to us. The pizza and my wife fried chicken order were done first. My wife loved her pizza and I tried it when I thought it was okay but not my favorite. I tried the mojo potatoes and thought I was okay. It took a while for my chicken wings to come out for some reason. The chicken wings I thought wasn't the worst but I had 1 piece that was red and cold so I think they didn't cook it properly. I got the ranch from their self serve area for salad and other side dishes. If I had the choice, I wouldnt want to come back because I think there better options than here.

Tried to order and it says the shakeys pizza 3 miles from my house so naturalylly it chqnges the location to a shakeys that is 8miles away. Needless to say I wont be placing an order since i dont suspect my delivery would get here let alone still warm.

The food was overall good but when my kids went to play games most of the games were not working and the worker did not give us the coins back and didn’t care. There was also a staff member that ignored my son when he wanted to get his tickets since they don’t give it and you have to ask them. They told my son to go away and I had to step in but they did not care, but there was some good staff members there that helped us.

I love their fried chicken and mojo's but it seems that the newer people who work here does not know if their food is over cooked or nicely done. They serve fried food that's dry as paper and almost burned. Well that's at dinner time I don't know the quality of food they serve at night.

The place was packed when my family and I went. I'm assuming there was a fundraiser going on because the cashier asked if we were a part of the fundraiser. The food we ordered was nice and hot. No complaints about the food. The issue I had was the drink machine. The plastic area that the ice comes out of had what looked like mold/mildew on the side of it. Disgusting. I wish I had taken a picture however the place was so packed I rushed to eat because we had 4 young kids with us. I purchased cups for my kids but didn't allow them to get a drink from that machine. Someone can get very sick. All the tables that were available to sit at had dirty plates, napkins, used soft drink cups, and food scraps. The staff could have been overwhelmed because of the number of people so I understand that but the soda machine, beware! It's pretty gross.

Honestly I came here a Friday around 4, every around was dirty, line to order food was so long. The game area is what you see in my photos, not great for little kids unless they are above 6 yrs old. Ended up leaving since everything was so unorganized and looked dirty.

...My First time at shakeys.. As I came in tables had dirty dishes and they hadn't been cleared so we sat in the middle where it was clean. I later went for dessert and the waiter saw me put my plate down as he was clearing the table from previous dishes and I went to refill on water and I came back to my food thrown away and all my utensils taken (Plate, fork and soda cup)

Just called to make a reservation a week out and the manager said she’s booked that day and that was it. I asked her if she’s booked all day and she tells me that she only books one reservation a day. She didn’t give me the time of the reservation which made me question it. When I asked her she paused for a bit and then said 5:30 PM. She also said that it was for 40 people and if I wanted to walk in I’m more than welcome but good luck trying to find a table. I can tell by the other reviews that this place truly is terrible when it comes to customer service. Not because they couldn’t accommodate us, but because she didn’t even know what time we wanted to come in and didn’t even bother asking. I’ve never heard of a place only booking one reservation a whole day when it’s more than a week out. Shakey‘s used to be a really good place to go, what a shame.

I usually order from this place because I like the convenience of ordering a small pizza with 6 wings. I could just go to Wing Stop and Little Caesars and be under $20.00 with all my condiments. The reason for this unpleasant review is because of my unpleasant Togo experience. I ordered 6 wings and a small pizza, upon request of buffalo sauce I was asked to pay extra for one sauce. I hate this! Why didn't the cashier ask me if I wanted sauce, knowing I had ordered wings. I refuse to pay for something that should already come with the meal. I unassumingly thought the service would be great and left a 18% tip prior to receiving this unpleasant service. This suck, I really enjoy picking up diner at this place. I will not be going here anymore and I will just order my wings and pizza some place else.

Went there to watch the last of the football game. And ordered the Pizza and wings deal. We also ordered 2 beers. Asked the employee at the register if the beer was cold enough because last 2 times we came the beers were warm and mugs weren't chilled and the beer tasted spoiled. The guy said it was cold and he didn't know why a lot of customers asked the same question. So we got our beers and tasted horrible. I think they're coolers aren't keeping the kegs cold enough and that spoils the whole keg. Our food was not great either too greasy and wings not cooked properly 2 pieces were red inside. I won't be coming back sadly. I rather give my business to another restaurant.

Placed an order on DoorDash and had it accepted for 8 and then they closed early and cancelled my order

I called this morning, 12/13 to place an order for 5 large pizzas for our company and the phone rang and rang. Waited a few minutes and then someone answered, and I stated I wanted to order 5 large pizzas. The woman placed me on hold for roughly 30 seconds, picked up the phone and hung up. I called back, and it rang and rang. At this point I am willing to go to BMPP, but the company really wanted Shakey's. I call back and a young man answered, I said I would like to order 5 large pizzas, then he goes silent. I can hear the background noise, but he has either put the phone down or is just listening to me repeatedly say hello. I love Shakey's but staff is horrrrrrible. I mean completely unprofessional. The owner is no better. They double charged our company, and it took over four months to get them to refund us. Mind you, they didn't refund the money, they gave us food which I had requested to begin with. Over four months for them to do something about it. I emailed the owner, and they never replied to my email which they have hanging in the store. It is of no use. Do better Shakey's. Love the food but the people there are useless.

I ordered a large box of mojo potatoes, and the box was half of the size, very disappointing

Horrible customer service. The manager will stare you down as you get your food from the buffet. They were very rude and I'm disappointed... this place used to be so good in the sixties.

Food is horrible! All food is microwaved by the taste of it, and the restaurant is super hot inside. NO AIR CONDITIONING! Salad is probably the only good thing to eat there, but poor lighting at the salad bar is kind of hard to see if what your choosing looks fresh! Do better Shakeys!

First and last time I will go to this buffet. Cashier, woman with black hair, was very rude. Told me to buy a cheese pizza if I wanted cheese pizza because in less than 30 seconds of being put out it was gone. There were several tables asking for cheese and pepperoni and had been asking for it but the staff could not keep up. They were putting one pizza out every 10 mins but only a few customers would get any because they were getting 3 or 4 slices. I served myself once and left without ever getting any pizza. The food I did get was ok, but I went for pizza.

Horrible service Understandably, it's Super Bowl Sunday, which is why I ordered 24 hours in advance. Waited 1.5 hours and was screamed at by the employee because they allowed people who just called in to walk in and pick up as several of us that ordered ahead of time continued to wait. Oh, and my pizza waited for me longer. Dried and hard, even the pepperoni was hard! Waste of my money and time.

So Disappointing. Games in the back are CASH ONLY!. My kids were so excited to get pizza and play games only learn they can’t play any games because this place only takes cash. Terrible.

Staff and management are great. Pizza is not good at all though.

ordered 2 pizzas 🍕 chicken and mojos. called in my order. I was told 25 minutes. I had to wait 20 minutes more when I got there. the mojos were flat and over cooked. tasted like hard chips. the pizza barely had any sauce. dry very bad. I am very disappointed..I spent a lot of money for the food to be horrible! Shakey's! DO BETTER!!

Recently visited this Shakey's pizza parlour for a review and tried their Rustic garlic chicken and Cheese garlic bread, but unfortunately, my experience was less than pleasant. The tables and chairs were noticeably dirty, and there were so many of them that I had to ask the staff to clean up before I could take a seat. When it comes to the food, the cheese garlic bread was disappointing—old, stale bread with minimal cheese, lacking the rich, garlic flavor I was expecting. The rustic garlic chicken was a bit better, but still, the overall experience was quite underwhelming. I hope the management pays attention to both cleanliness and the quality of their food in the future.

I have been coming almost every Friday for a few months now. Especially since the .70 cents for a half a lb of mojo's. I go in today and hast for a lb thinking I'll pay 1.40...no... got rung up for the full Amount... So much for a deal... Today is the last day I pick up any food from here. Be careful when you order your food here and what your charged that's all I can kindly say to everyone about this.

Restaurant went from great management to declining in every aspect of the restaurant business. Disappointed to say the least. My family and I sat in the game room area to a single table with no reserved sign displayed on it (reserved tables surrounded us but no party ever showed up 🤔) room had 2 employees eating at the reserved tables but no customers in sight and found trash and food crumbs under our table. I asked the cashier for someone to please sweep but no one ever showed up. Last but not least when needing to use the restroom with my 7 year old we we're surprised to find what once was a clean tidy restroom has now become a trash graffiti bin. For basic needs and cleanliness this restaurant should get 0 stars. A napkin was hard to find in a restaurant that serves pizza, wings, chicken etc. Pictures attached so hopefully Shakey's restaurants can help this location get back to what we are use to a ***** rating.
