Gran Bar Novara Reviews
I found this place while waiting for a train and I am so glad. This place has great food and a nice, quiet atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and friendly.
Courteous service. An elegant location steeped in film culture. Photographs of historic actors adorn the walls. A stunning interior with two precious crystal chandeliers. Outdoor seating is also available. I ordered a homemade hot chocolate with cream: delicious! A varied lunch menu is available, with both a café and restaurant. Highly recommended.
We entered to have some coffee and pastries. The staff welcomed us with a smile, they were attentive and polite. The atmosphere was very nice, and we really enjoyed what we ate. We also got some desserts to take with us for our train journey, and they were delicious too!
Excellent Treccina with dried fruit! I'm talking about that one because I ate that one but at first sight it all seemed very good, very fast in serving and also at the cash register the bar is beautiful and the outside is small but functional. The smile I think is from the owner and it was last. Highly recommended

Beautiful
We stopped for a breakfast of café and pastries. Service was quick. The room was elegant. And we enjoyed watching people in Piazza Cavour.

Good croissants, apple strudel and neat one. However, a bit too expensive (7€ for two American coffee and two croissants 💔).
Contextualized through a setting reminiscent of 1950s style, Gran Bar in Novara has always been synonymous with class and elegance. Elegant spaces, divided into several rooms, make it certainly one of the most elegant cafes and diners in Novara. Particularly thoughtfully furnished, the style is elegant-retro, featuring chandeliers, mirrors, and photographs of the greatest actors in the history of cinema of all time. There is an outdoor terrace. Elegant seating, and a varied and diverse clientele. Those who know me know perfectly well that I am an extremely generous woman; by definition, I cannot be described as a greedy person. With this in mind, I abhor injustice, and I am especially upset when I realize through subtle tricks that I am being defrauded. I paid 3 euros for a cappuccino and a glass of still water. Without batting an eyelid, as is the education and elegance that my beloved family has striven to instill in me. In contrast, I am a sincere person who is eager to express my thoughts. When I formulate a concept, I never do so lightly or superficially, without having researched it beforehand. Above all, I always express clearly, in the fully truthful thought I'm formulating at that moment in reference to a given circumstance, what I think about people, places, or specific situations. To my great surprise, I discovered that for those present, residents of the city of Novara, a coffee cost €1, while for regular customers, it cost €1.50. I find the choice of different prices based on the customer's origin indecent, shameful. We are all Italians; the tricolor I am surrounded by is mine as well as theirs. I do not issue receipts. For me, legality is an essential element for every human being who wants to define themselves as such, and a free citizen embodied in an unacceptable attitude. Green Pass check only because I had posted it in advance, expressing my desire to sit in what is a wonderful living room. Yes, indeed. A wonderful living room. I'm not exaggerating when I say I felt morally uneasy due to an attitude contrary to what should be considered "professionalism" par excellence.
The place, seen from the outside, makes you want to go in... The coffee was passable. The staff was very rude. I won't be back.
€10 for a hot chocolate and juice is a complete rip-off, especially since it's not worth it. A very old bar with dirty, stained chairs inside, and owners with forced smiles that you can tell from a mile away are fake. From the reviews, I see I'm not the only one complaining about the prices and food quality.
We ordered two cappuccinos, each costing us €5.00, and we didn't receive a receipt.
Passing through Novara, we stopped at the Gran Bar, seeing they had lunch. The paniscia was good, the tortellini were at room temperature, not bad, but what was shocking was the final bill: €2.50 for filtered tap water, €5 for a small lager, but two coffees cost €1.80, which was absurd. The two covers were €1.50 each. To sum up, two first courses, two drinks, and two coffees came to €38.10. At this price, we would have gone to a restaurant, but eating at a small café table in a bar is out of the ordinary.
Crazy prices (coffee 1.80, cappuccino 2.50), mediocre croissants that taste like nothing, and the staff is snobbish. If you come in dressed a certain way, they smile at you from head to toe; if you're not wearing any well-known brands, they'll say hello.
As soon as we entered, they didn't even greet us, then rudely and hastily asked us what we wanted to order, serving us the complete opposite of what we had ordered. NOT RECOMMENDED!
