Great food. Their Micheladas were amazing. I went ahead and splurged and ordered it with the shrimp. The service is great and they were very accommodating. Our large group had 3 tabs and no one on the same tab was sitting next to each other. They kept the orders straight and tabs correct. I highly recommend them.

The best enchilada sauce! Delicious vegan bean dip! Great salsa! I need to try more items, but I love the shredded chicken enchiladas, both red and green sauce so much!!

Great family owned business. Food is always good I have been eating at this restaurant since before it had a fire in Sonora and then moved down to Oakdale. No one should be disappointed with anything they order the staff is friendly and caring and consistent. Great place for anyone to eat I am so glad that they are still in business 😀 I know but I have eaten with them for over 15 years.

They can make anything on their menu vegan. They use vegan cheese and vegan sour cream. Beans are vegan also. I have the tamales with salsa verde. It was delicious! Will definitely go back. Service was great. Waitress was knowledgeable and very kind.

Best fajitas I have had in my whole both in terms on quantity and taste! Whatever we get served for fajitas anywhere in Europe cannot be compared to this. They offer lots of options but we went for the chicken fajitas as they also had an special offer on that day. Prices are really good and the location is perfect for those traveling between Yosemite and San Francisco. Only two slightly negative aspects: the outdoor seating area was nice but right next to the highway, therefore quite noisy and the service was good but maybe since we were outside and the had less staff during a week day we were not attended by the waitress as often as we would have liked. Make sure you stop there on your way to Yosemite!

Cocina Michoacana was not outstanding, but somewhere I’d go back to. They had good, authentic Mexican food and the service and atmosphere were both satisfactory.

This is a great medium sized Mexican restaurant. My only issue is they don't have enough staff so service is sometimes mediocre.

This is a nice Mexican Restaurant. The food it good. If you've been to any other Cocina Michoacana restaurants in the area, it is very similar. Supposedly there are a couple siblings that own different groups of these restaurants, per our waitress. Restaurant was clean. They have a Vegan/Vegetarian menu. Seating is tables only. No booths.

The food was delicious, highly recommend! The only issue of possible concern was that the wait staff don't wear masks. (Our waitress informed us that their boss told them it was optional.) However, they were very courteous and always put on a mask when they came to our table in particular.

Pretty good food, great service. Large menu of Vegan food dishes! So now the carnivores and the vegan can eat together. No vegan dessert options, but that's okay. Appetizers and main meal are plenty enough! We'll definitely be going back!

I like that they have an actual vegan menu aside from the normal menu. The food was excellent and servers friendly. A little bit pricey though but overall a nice experience.

The food is made to order, authentic and delicious. The servings are huge and reasonably priced for what you get. This was a quiet place where we could visit with our relatives and enjoy our meal just like at home. In fact it had a very homey feel pleasant, well-appointed, clean and fun. If we lived in the area we would visit often.

Food is good but everything is overpriced. I ordered their ceviche and a jarrito drink. Came out to be 30.00$. Thats crazy. Also, they charge for complimentary items. Had to pay $2.00 for a little cup of jalapeños and another $2.00 for a small cup of salsa rojo, at every other mexican place ive been to its all free (complimentary) ill eat here again when i get lazy since its next door to me. Also they left the avocado seed in my ceviche.

*Update June 2022* Wow... expensive. We just ordered 2 taco truck style burritos, chicken millinesa, 2 sides of green sauce. $41.00 !!!!!! Costs are higher, but wow... this is pretty excessive. Sorry to say we won't go back. We have been eating at this place for 20+ years... Well that was it. It is a shame, because it was good.

The vegan food options are delicious! Portions for torta aren't filling, but very yummy. Handicap accessible, nice customer service, and great mix of music. Family and friends also love the vegan options.

Food was good. Service was OK. Even though it is posted on the door that masks are required to enter only 1 person wore a face cover/mask to enter and pick up her food out of about 30 people that came in while we were there. I understand that businesses are struggling thru this pandemic. Look out for the safety of your patrons who are complying and for your own employees. It's been a year, everyone knows the rules.

Food is good but the price is outrageous. No matter how much the bill is the tip is included, but when they bring the bill there's a part where it shows tip to be added. Which means double tip. They charge for everything, including if you ask for salsa.

Disaster: ordered pitcher strawberry margaritas that were bitter and made my girlfriend physically sick three times on way home. Received credit on bill for pitcher! Ordered $38 special bowl for two; meat was tough and dry; waitress asked if we wanted flour or corn tortillas and I replied both since it was a bowl for two! She didn't say extra charge because only two tortillas per bowl for two!!! Ordered chicken fajitas with flour tortilla; chicken very dry; vegetables ok. Beans on small plate; sour cream on small plate; fajitas on metal pan; asked for plate to eat off. Only plate with $38 special bowl for two was plate covered with rice and beans; no serving plates. Special bowl is very soup like and should be served with two bowls, hence food for two!!!! Asked for dinner plates which should have come with $38 bowl for two! Waitress never brought dinner plates and I had to go to counter and request dinner plates! Bill: OUTRAGEOUS CHARGED $2 for two dinner plates each and $1 extra for corn tortillas. $1 for dinner plate for fajitas; $4 for ice tea glass! $38 special bowl for two people comes with only two tortillas and no dinner plates; fajita plate comes with no dinner plate! Since when do restaurants charge $2 for dinner plate? We need to eat off table???? Special bowl for two should have at least four tortillas!! Waitress said look at menu " split plate charge $2". Since when is a two people $38 special bowl considered a one dinner plate meal???? Refused to pay the bill until they removed all those extra charges and asked for manager. NO MANAGER CAME!! A male customer from the bar came to our table and told our waitress he would pay our bill then he turned to us and said she's good friend of mine and I don't want her to be responsible for this bill!! Since when does a manager not respond to customer request for conversation???? The extra charges were not justified; they clearly state "split menu charge". $38 meal for two should provide dishes and tortillas for two!!! I paid for the fajitas and refused to pay $38 special bowl for two unless manager came. No manager!! We always dine at Javi's in Oakdale and Modesto but thought we would try some place new. NEVER AGAIN! If owners want local business they need to be willing to talk to locals. This place is off our list!

Normally this place is great and we have been in many times for lunch and dinner. On this particular day we walked in and wanted to place a to go order. We stood at the counter and asked to see menus. After we were given menus, the waitress came to us one time and asked if we were ready. I asked for just a couple more minutes to look at the menu, but we were ignored to the point where we walked out. It was very disappointing.

This was the worst burrito I've ever had in my life it was 90% rice the only meat they had was on the side in the juice for the wet burrito don't ever order here.. where are all these good reviews coming from?

Great tasting food but took 50 minutes to arrive to table after ordering and only had a 1hr lunch break. There the only five customers in the restaurant at the the time and we were two of them. Also had to take my Pepsi to the bar to get it refilled.

To the owner. My order was chill Colorado, WOW only 3 pieces of meat. The sauce was watery and didn't taste like chill Colorado. Please hire a new cook, that puts Love in Mexican food. Your prices are ridiculous for a small plate. First time and it will be my last time.
