I LOVE Javi's, but it was Our First Time to the One in Oakdale, CA & OMG it Did NOT Disappoint!!! It BLEW the One We Normally go to Outta the Water, Even on Building Size!!! Way to go Javi's Y'all are Wonderful!!!

Really like this place. Great atmosphere and food. SOMETIMES service is slow and you have to keep asking for things, but overall I like it.

Love this place. Try and come here everytime I get over to Oakdale. Waiter wad great and kept our cups filled. Food is amazing. I have tried many of their dishes and all were good. Only issue was the music was a little loud.

Favorite Mexican restaurant, ever! Their bean dip and cabbage dip with chips are SO good!! The sopes, enchiladas, mole, are all SO good! Service is always fast and nice too. Love this place!!!

Have eaten here 2 times 11 months apart as I'm only here once a year and the food is excellent along with the staff. Carnitas so flavorful and rice, beans and quacamole are the best I've had anywhere! Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to any conissour of Mexican quinine. Great margaritas too.

This is now our 2nd favorite Mexican food place in the 209. El Jardin is still #1so let me start there. The staff is terrific, the drinks are very good and there shrimp cocktails are the bomb. U get a tremendous amount of shrimp for the peice and you'll be full in the end for sure. The chips and salsa are tasty as well so get your grub on at Javi's!

Absolutely phenomenal food, customer service, and atmosphere. Just like the Modesto location, Javi's is still our favorite place to grab some awesome Mexican food. Will continue coming back!

Great food! We have frequented the Turlock and Hilmar locations, this was our first time at Javis in Oakdale. Everything was wonderful. We even met Byron, one of the sons of the owner. He is a real nice guy. We will definitely be coming back.

Hidden gem. There is a billboard coming into town, but it's in a shopping area, and a little hard to find. This place is really cool inside, they have a huge sports bar, lots of TV's, and tons of sports memorabilia. There is a restaurant side too, but we chose the sports bar to eat our lunch. The food is amazing, they bring out chips, salsa, bean dip, and cabbage slaw with some menu's. There really is too much to choose from. We both loved our meal and the atmosphere was great. The bartender served us, and was very professional. Highly recommended this place, and we will definitely be back

This restaurant has a very beautiful interior. I felt like I was on a fabulous tropical island or maybe on the coast in Mexico. The decor is well done. The food and the service was amazing! I will be back in the area next week and I am definitely coming back.

Tasty generous portions and friendly servers! What more could you want out of a restaurant? I got the chorizo and eggs and I struggled to finish it, but wasn't gonna leave that delicious food behind! The margarita are also really good, try a mango or strawberry one. I also loved the atmosphere which felt like a blend between a bar and a diner.

Great night. Celebrated my bday with wonderful friends. Good food, drinks and service. Treated me with a fried ice cream. I feel like family there. Very special people. So glad they are back open.

Food is GREAT! And all the staff are excellent; awesome wait staff ~ except for the one Male waiter we had today. (He wasn't attentive to basic customer service needs like napkins; asking if we wanted drink refills; got a simple lunch order wrong; etc.)

We have been coming here to eat once or twice monthly, for years! The food and service, is ALWAYS terrific and, you are served a lot for the money...which we find, is moderately priced. The sports bar part of the restraunt, is tops and, extremely relaxing. If you love good quality and variety of Mexican dishes, cooked and made the way YOU like, and/or...you love watching sports surrounded by great sports memorabilia in a friendly atmosphere, Javi's will soon become a favorite.

This is a special place where are you treated like family or long time friends right from the very beginning. The food is also very good,facilities are clean and very comfortable. I was just noticing at this last visit that the TVs are placed in such a way that you're able to see them without twisting in your seat.

First time back in a while and it was awesome. I ordered the carne asada chimichanga and it was probably the best one I have had. Food was fresh, I didn't have to wait very long. Great service. Great margaritas. Great atmosphere. 5 stars for sure. A little pricey but it was quality and good food and like I said great fast service so it was worth it. I will be going back very soon.

Javi's is one of my kids favorite places to dine. Food is always really good at a decent price. And the last few times we've gone we've had Mia as our server. She does an exceptional job EVERY time. Very friendly and fast! Always takes good care of us.

They were amazing! The server forgot to put our order in, and about 10 minutes later the manager approached and apologized and said they were taking 50% off our bill. The funny thing is, our total wait time from ordering to getting our food was still less than 20 minutes( we wouldn't have even known if he didn't say something).It wasn't that big of a deal, and I would have been fine with a complimentary dessert, but he took 50%off like he said. That is the kind of thing a lot of places lack now days, customer service. To top it off, the food was excellent.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Quick, delicious, and easy to get to Mexican restaurant. Came here on my way back from Yosemite! The food here is a mix between Texmex and Authentic Mexican dishes with many of your favorites being here. Most of the plates come with beans and rice. Free chips and salsa is a plus (also comes with beans!) This restaurant had a full bar as well which is centrally placed. This is a great place to watch a sports game because they have TVs all over (and the vibe is very football oriented!). Tons of jerseys everywhere! The food here was good. This had Texmex vibes and is different than your hole in the wall taqueria or fine Mexican sit down restaurant. This falls kind of in between both of them. Definitely recommended if you’re on the road or in town! Great service too! Very quick!

We stopped here for our dinner from our trip to Yosemite NP back to bay area. The food was good and the staff was humble and friendly. '5-star' rating is actually earned by the dessert named 'Fried Ice-cream basket', kind of unique experience for me and my wife too. Worth trying it for sure.

While it's not my favorite Mexican Restaurant in the greater Modesto Area, it's my favorite in Oakdale, where I live. The food and service is always good. And the menu has many choices, which I like.

I love their (bar tacos). My wife and I can get full on tacos and have a couple drinks for less than $20. My only complaint is that they close too early for a bar.

They have queso! Being from Texas where queso is everything, was so excited to find it in California since isnt a true Mexican appetizer. Not the greatest quality queso but its good and I'll take it!! The food here is good, probably not our most favorite, wished the cabbage was diced so could actually eat it with the chips, and the Sunrise Margarita is delicious!

I love Javis! Great sportsbar. Foods good drinks are big and the price is right. They have good happy hour deals if your cheap like me.

We went there for a group party and they did a great job serving a group of 30. The food was well prepared and the drinks kept coming with out problem. Everyone I was with had no complaints as far as I know. Well worth the price and the tip.

Great local place. Food is southern california style, which is the best. They offer 2 salsas and bean dip, dont care for the cabbage/jalepeno stuff. Kids est free on Tuesdays which is nice. Definately need to work on customer service.

Food and atmosphere was very good. Our server wasn't very attentive. There were 8 of us, everyone had received their Dinners, while I sat and waited for a side salad. Most were at least 1/2 done when I finally received the salad.

Star of the meal was actually the cortidos served with salsa, very reminiscent of Salvadoranian style cortidos. Chile relleno was fresh made, beans were delicious! Service was courteous and timely... good place to stop over on the way back from the mountains! Flour tortillas left a lot to be desired... May have been packaged/ premade.

SHOCKED at the prices! $22 for a burrito??? I thought swinging by here on a roadtrip I could grab something to eat. Stayed to be polite & got a kids small burrito for $12.. wasn't that fresh or great. Really attentive nice service, comfy booths and ambiance is really nice. Wish the prices weren't ridiculous.

On our way back from Yosemite National Park, we stopped by this restaurant which tucked in the back of a shopping strip in Oakdale,CA. The waitress Ms. Isabel was very friendly and was quick to attend to our order requests. I had a mole chicken plate with rice and beans. The mole sauce not the best but was decent and tasty. The salsa was spicy but very yummy. Food was served fairly quickly and service was very good. The menu prices were little on the high side but that could be just the spike in commodity prices due to COVID pandemic. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone heading to/ returning from Yosemite area.

Really friendly service and prompt getting my orders of fish tacos ready but it's ok only...sorry..I really wanted to like it more given the service...hibiscus drink was low on tastes...the kids liked the food so it wasn't all bad.

Service was fine, but the food at other places like Cafe Bravo is better. And unfortunately the fans are below the lights, causing the lighting to constantly flicker.

The service is in need of some training and maybe the bartender should try the drinks before she tells you how they taste. The tacos were good enough.

It's always OK- sometimes it's messy and the service is slow if you sit in the bar area... it's always on poin5bif you sit I. Food is decent but price is insanely high. Paid 40 dollars for a chimichanga that is half the size of every other chimi I've ever seen in my life and a plate of cheap chicken pieces with cream sauce rice and beans. This was carry out with no drinks or extras. Will not return based on prices

Stopped in during a road trip. Service was good, our waitress was friendly and had our food to us quickly! Food was okay. Some of it was not all the way warmed through and my enchilada didn't taste freshly made. I'd probably give it another chance because the flavor was there. Maybe it was just an off or busy day.

This is a casual and convenient spot with a very extensive menu but I found the food and service to be nothing special.

I, as a hispanic, must confess the food is trash if you are looking for authentic mexican food. The service was great and its a comfortable sports bar atmosphere. I ate the food 3/10. I had the chimichanga with chicken. Chicken was dry and their sauce was nasty. They use sour cream instead of cremé which i didn't mind but fyi. Asked 4 people before going in and they all said not to eat there. It is "ytwashed". The drinks were amazing but at $4.50 for a soda, the drinks better be amazing. I personally won't be returning for food unless "Javi" stops cooking and he lets his mom cook.

It was our first time there. My wife had the shrimp and scallop fajitas and she loved every bite of them and I could only afford to have the senior special because both of us can't afford expensive meals. That's what happens when you retire and are bored and are living on a fixed income. The service was fine. I ordered 2 meals to go. 2 beef enchiladas and 1 green chicken enchilada and chicken soft taco. Very bland. Enchilada sauce (red on the beef) seemed to almost come out of a can. Same with the green sauce. Beans and rice had no real flavor. The taco had no cheese or sauce... just chicken and lettuce on corn tortillas. It wasn't very filling, portions could be larger considering the price. Still hungry...raiding the fridge now. Not worth $36.00. I'll go to the taco truck next time.

Bottom line- The food is 2 stars but the service was great. Price to value is questionable. The food was very bland and portions small - served on shallow plate and spread over the plate to appear as a larger serving. Chips and salsa just OK.

It wasn’t bad....the fried tilapia wasn’t the best but I understand that’s not their speciality. The worst part is the heavy alcohol....if I’m ordering a lemon drop I want a lemon drop not vodka without triple sec. they 100% need a bartender who knows how to get people booze without pouring straight up 2 shots for one lemon drop. Service wasn’t the best but it was busy...I’m honestly more concerned about the over pours...gotta keep track of that

Expected more. Beans bland, picante not salsa. Rice tasteless. What is that cole slaw? Queso is orange. Chimichanga was ok but smaller and no melted cheese. Beef quesadilla was meat, no cheese, no sauce. Pork quesadilla smothered in green sauce. Is this normal?

Ordered a shredded beef chimichunga. It was probably the amount of food you would get for a del taco burrito for $22! Mostly tortilla. My 3 year old ate the whole thing. Won't be going back.

Food was horrible. How do you go wrong with beans. No flavor whatsoever. Chile verde was cold and tasted old. Too expensive for bland tasting food. Only thing going is restaurant is very nice and clean and service is great. Need to just get a better cook.

Nice environment with lots of TVs and that’s it. Food was mediocre at best. The food is way over priced for the quality. It takes a bit to get service so make sure you give yourself lots of time. I know it’s a Mexican restaurant but it’s also a sports bar/restaurant. It would be nice to have sports bar food available at least at the bar.

I was recommended this restaurant and I don't know why. I rarely write bad reviews but this place smelled terrible and the food was very bland. They did have good drinks and the service was good.

Both my husband and I ordered the tapatia, my husband found plastic in his salad. The beans had no flavor. The service was horrible we had to keep flagging down our waitress to refill our drinks. But the atmosphere was lovely.

This was my first visit to Javi's, I ordered two tacos, one crunchy (hard shell) and one soft, both shredded beef. They were bland, so much lettuce I thought it was a salad, the shell tasted like a store bought crunchy taco. I won't be going back to this place.

Customer service is great. The food on the other hand, it can improve. The carne asada tacos need more meat, less fat. Out of 4 tacos I got 1 decent one. Improve the meat quality too. The beans are bland, quesadilla was sad. Step up the quality and stop offering everything with beans and rice.

Javi's in Modesto has been our favorite place for years, always the best food and service. Today we went to the one in Oakdale. I had the two taco plate. Sorry Javi's, it missed the mark by a mile. The tacos were barely filled with any meat or lettuce and the rice and beans were barely a spoonful. For $20 a plate, we'll stick with the Modesto location.

The chicken had no flavor. One order was not as we requested. Amazingly, the only flavor was in the pre-dinner chips n sauce. Won't be back here.

I use to love this place! I ordered what I always have, and when it came to the table it was a huge disappointment. Several ingredients missing, was half the size and the price, picture, and description all showed what it use to be. Asada had the texture of microwaved steak! Cheese that use to be fried was just ice cold. I ate a portion and just left it. Served could tell we were displeased but quickly handed over the check with zero concern. I won’t go back.
