Tip: Customers recommend giving La Empanada Loca a try, emphasizing that you won't regret it due to the delicious food, good prices, and excellent service.
Great service, great atmosphere and most important great food! I gotta say this is probably one of the best Puerto Rican cuisine restaurants I have tried. It is really hard to replicate the authentic food from the Caribbean. I had a Trifongo churrasco With a nice cold Medalla light. Every bite was for a flavor I mean from start to finish. The steak was cooked, medium well all throughout and the chimichurri sauce was excellent. Highly recommend if you’re just looking for a new spot or a night out with your girlfriend or spouse or even with family and friends they cater to all.
Well, I went there on back to back days so that should be enough 😊 but I will say if you’re looking for authentic Puerto Rican food, you’re gonna find it right here. The food you can tell is made with love and every bite was delicious. Happy this is right around the corner! Our server was very sweet and attentive! Would absolutely come back!!
My family and I went for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. Then there’s the food, so delicious, we felt like we were in Puerto Rico. Our servers, Samantha and Victor, were exceptional. They were very kind to my parents which was greatly appreciated. Thank you for an enjoyable experience. We’ll be back, I’m sure.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Every bite is a taste of pure Puerto Rican bliss! I highly recommend to absolutely everyone. Only one caution, it's very addicting! If you have it once, you'll definitely be craving it again. *pictures are of partially eaten platters, in couldn't wait to take a bite and almost forgot to take pictures*
We visited this restaurant for the first time. I was totally impressed with the decor. I am Puerto Rican and wanted my mother, bother, and a family friend who is Cuban, to experience what I kept hearing from friends about this place. WOW! Everything was Excellent! The food was Excellent and the service was excellent too. I strongly recommend this restaurant. The owners and employees are very knowledgeable and professional. Thank you La Empanada Loca for the great dining experience! We will be back.
Authentic Puerto Rican Flavor If you're looking for true Puerto Rican flavor, look no further — this place is the real deal. From the moment you walk in, you're hit with the warm aroma of sofrito, sazón, and comfort. The atmosphere is welcoming and full of culture, just like abuela’s kitchen. The trifongo was perfectly seasoned and mashed to perfection. Don’t even get me started on the arroz con gandules — I could eat a whole tray of it. Everything tastes homemade, like it’s made with love and tradition. The staff treats you like family, the portions are generous. This isn’t just a meal — it’s an experience, a trip to the island without leaving town. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Puerto Rican food that hits the soul. 🇵🇷🔥
Omg delicious 🤤 Puerto Rican cuisine is one of the best in the world and this place got it right! Im from Chicago and this taste just the same as authentic puerto rican food anywhere. A new fav. I had the Pastelon Burger with Fries and you Cannot go wrong
I've never been disappointed with anything I have ever had from here! Mofongo is great and the empanadas are exceptional. Great for a quick bite or a full meal. Grab a mofongo empanada for the best of both worlds!
Delicious authentic Puerto Rican Food! Ordered the Pernil Mofongo. Flavorful & Filling. Will come back again for some of the best Puerto Rican food in Florida 🇵🇷
Lil impromptu date brunch... stumbled upon the most authentic Puerto Rican, out of the way, restaurant ever. Great food, service and vibe! #llaempanadaloca
Recently moved to the area and wanted to find good Puerto Rican food, La Empanada Loca is the place to go. Tasty food, good service and great prices. Bizcocho de novia is a must try!
The food was pretty awesome I ordered un bacalito and it wasn't cooked all of way through, instead of replacing it, the waiter (owner) offered to refry it. I thought it should've been replaced..but that's me. Everything else was delicious.
hands-down, the best empanadas in Fort Lauderdale. Always fresh and hot and very generous on the meat portion. their Café con Leche is amazing too!
I went for the first time today and service was amazing. The owner is so nice and went up to every table, he even was able to squeeze us in a little earlier. Servers are all very welcoming. Food… 10/10 some of the best Mofongo i’ve had in South florida. Me and my family will be back to try more from the menu
La Empanada Loca in Oakland Park is a cozy spot serving up tasty, authentic Puerto Rican food. The empanadas are packed with flavor and come in great options like beef, chicken, and even sweet guava with cheese. If you’re extra hungry, their mofongo and trifongo plates with shrimp or crispy pork are super satisfying. The service is friendly and the vibe feels like a welcoming neighborhood eatery. It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re in the mood for comforting, home-style Puerto Rican dishes. Instagram - @thesofloduo
The food is AMAZING! Everything is flavorful and the mofongo is perfectly done and not dry like some places! The atmosphere along with the food feels like your in PR! I live in NY and once or twice a year I visit fort lauderdale and this is the first stop every trip for the best rican food in town! Highly recommend!
OMG! That was real Puerto Rican food. The mofongo’s were tasty and was amazing. The cuajito it was one of the best cuajitos I’ve ever ate in my life and the Tres Leches and Flan were extremely good. One last thing, amazing passion fruit juice. Presentations were amazing and the service as well a 5 stars service.
So I can finally say how I have finally found a true authentic "Abuelita Style" real deal "raitru" "al garrete" Puerto Rican restaurant that will transport you back to your days on the Island. The food is as true as it gets, and the customer service is superb. Very friendly, and relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed their Sunday only Sancocho de Pollo, also had some alcapurrias, and sorullitos de queso. Also had some Platanos Dulce, and some Arroz con Gandules. Great flavors, great food. I highly recommend this fine establishment👍👍👍👍👍.
La Empanada Loca receives five stars from me because it it something new and different. I ordered three empanadas including two beef and one ham and cheese. I have always had a thing for empanadas and these very much seemed freshly baked. The cheese was well melted and the dough about the right level of thickness. It is located in a run down industrial area, but I guess that gives it character. The inside is festive with murals and lively music. It is worth a visit.
This place is amazing! First time in a long time I taste authentic Puerto Rican food. The chuleta kan kan was huge and to die for! Everyone in my party fell in love with their meal! Savanah was our waitress. She was very attentive and made sure we had all we needed! Can’t wait to go back out there. Usually it’s for the beaches but this time it might just be for La Empanada Loca!lol Thanks guys, we loved it!!!!
Fanfreakintastic if you ask us. We went for lunch and they did not disappoint. Great food, great staff and PR decor. We ordered ensalada de pulpo, alcapurria, chuleta kan kan, trifongo, frid snapper w/ arroz con gandules and carne guisado w/ white rice and habichuelas. Then we took home a bottle of the pique or hot sauce.... trust me.... this place is the best Puerto Rican food I've had in a very long time.
Very Chill Latin spot.. Came in here didn’t know what to expect! Reminds me of that spot in the Bronx.. with Mamas in the back cooking her life away feeding everyone’s soul that Goood recipe. Ultra delicious food.. Inexpensive. Empanadas are awesome. Staff is very attentive! Place is Spotless! Pork was delicious had to order there and to go!! As a chef eating this food.. I can taste the passion! TREAT YO SELF! Poetic Approved!
Wowwwww SO GOOD!!!! Gracias Geo para tu servicio. Everything was a 10/10!!! The empanada de pollo con queso, the Puerto Rican cake, the trifongo de pollo chicarrón, the pina colada… my goodness reminds me of home! I am coming back and telling everyone about this good Puerto Rican restaurant that you don’t have to drive so far down south for.
We fell upon this place in our search for empanadas and loved it. Great service and good, an extensive menu, low-key, quiet and comfortable Puerto Rican dining. We will return for sure.
Our server, John, was absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, his warm and friendly attitude made us feel welcome. The food was excellent—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Service was incredibly fast without feeling rushed, and John made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. This was truly a top-notch dining experience, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
I’ve had great Puerto Rican food both in NY and in Puerto Rico itself. This is my first time finding a South Florida spot that lives up to what Authentic, Homemade, Made To Order Puerto Rican food should be. William, the owner, was the best! He brought all that Puerto Rican hospitality I grew accustomed to on the Island last time I was there. My visit was on a Sunday morning, order the Sunday special Sancocho, it is a must!! I also ordered Pasteles, Trifongo Masa De Cerdo Frita (Pork), Mofongo Bistec Palomilla (Steak), and Chicken & Beef Empanadas. The Sanchoco was seasoned perfectly and a large portion, the Pasteles were moist, the Mofongo was classically done, the Trifongo was a new favorite, and the empanadas are FILLED to the brim!
Delicious meal. Everything I wanted and more. The trifongo was incredible and the pork chops were so tender. The staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Can’t wait to go back.
Update: Came back to this restaurant after a long long time! And I was not disappointed. Once more the food was delicious. And they actually expanded so there was plenty space. Service was awesome as well. I look forward to come back. I went here for lunch for the first time and I have to says it was my favorite puerto rican restaurant in sfl. Food is delicious and prices are fare. Restaurant is kinda small for the amount of people that goes and parking is tricky, but is so worth the wait. To start We had an chicken empanada (pastelillo) and an alcapurria. Both were seasoned and full of meat. For lunch we had the chuleta kan kan with yuca, mofongo and arroz con gandules. Everything was amazing and super tasty. The kan kan was juicy and fried perfectly. Mofongo wasn’t dry. We loved everything we ate and the service was great.
Delicious. Authentic. And just one of my favorite hole in the wall type places. The flavor of the food is awesome and the staff is always polite and cheery. A must for anyone that is craving Puerto Rican food in south Florida. I have been there 5 or 6 times and always leave happy and full.
My husband and I dined at The Empanada Loca at lunchtime today. The food was excellent with generous portions. The waiter Gio was attentive,charming... He was an exceptional waiter. Knew the Special of the Day… off hand, was very patient as we browsed the menus. Always came back to check if we needed anything. My husband’s ‘chuleta khan khan with the tri -mofongo was cooked perfectly and it came with a salad . My ‘mofongo con camarones al ajillo’ was to die for. Then came my dessert, The Puerto Rican’ cake; moist, tasty and delicious! We enjoyed the background music as we were able to hold a conversation without having to talk over the music. All in all the service was above expectations. Highly recommended.
Let me tell you something, this place right here, is beyond amazing. From the service, to the food, drinks etc. everything was delicious. I traveled down from Tampa to visit family and they have been here peace of times and highly recommend it. Thank goodness they did because it was exactly what I needed. My family and I enjoyed every bit of it. And Emmanuel was amazing, his service, humor and attention to detail was top tier. Same with the staff, everyone was a joy. Emmanuel recommended the fried snapper and omg it was amazing. So delicious, and the display on the plate was just captivating. But the taste of that fish…I could have ate another one and another mofongo. The pictures don’t give the food the justice it deserves because it was so good.
Experience the Flavors of Puerto Rico at La Empanada Loca - A Vibrant Culinary Journey! La Empanada Loca, a Puerto Rican restaurant located near my workplace, caught my attention while I was searching for authentic PR cuisine. Despite the unconventional name (as we usually refer to our savory pastries as "empanadillas" or "pastelillos" in Puerto Rico), I decided to give it a try. Upon entering, I immediately felt the Puerto Rican vibe and was greeted warmly by the staff. I was promptly seated without needing a reservation. The waiter kindly offered me a drink, suggesting the iconic Medalla beer from Puerto Rico. Without hesitation, I ordered one. As for the appetizers, I chose the alcapurrias, which were slightly small in size but packed with delicious flavors. The empanadillas, on the other hand, were generously filled with meat and tasted delightful. For the main course, I opted for the mofongo with fried meat. It was truly spectacular, although the garlic sauce on the meat was a bit overpowering for my taste, and that's saying something since I'm a garlic lover. Next time, I'll request the sauce on the side. The mofongo was accompanied by a flavorful broth, traditionally used in Puerto Rico to moisten the dish, as it can sometimes be a bit dry. This touch truly captured the essence of Puerto Rican cuisine. Inside the dining area, the walls are adorned with murals depicting musicians from the island, creating an excellent backdrop for capturing memorable photos. I intend to return to La Empanada Loca to explore more of their traditional dishes, which I'm confident they craft with authenticity and care. If you're seeking an immersive culinary journey through the vibrant flavors of Puerto Rico, La Empanada Loca is a must-visit. From the warm welcome to the mouthwatering dishes, this restaurant offers a genuine taste of Puerto Rican cuisine in a lively setting.
Very cute restaurant with tons of personality. Good service and enviroment. The food is good but I will say I was a little disapointed that the mofongo was not the fried version. But you have to try the Pastelon Empanada. Having the beef taste with some of the sweet plantain mix in, LOVE! Just a heads up, the music is a little on the loud side. Keep this in mind if loud sound makes you uncomfortable. Also the parking in front of the restaurant is a little tricky because of the curb (its not all flat to get into the parking spaces). So if your car is low to the ground be mindful of were you park. 😉
This was my first time here and let me say… not my last!! The food was 20/10! It was delicious! Homemade! Fresh! I can’t even use enough words to describe. We were blown away! Our server Emmanuel was very helpful and made some recommendations that we were glad we listened to! The service all around was fantastic! Small family owned business - give it a try! You won’t be disappointed. Thank you to William for also stopping by our table to great us. We can’t wait to come back soon!
First time in Fort Lauderdale and I have to say this is the best restaurant hands down. The service was phenomenal and the food was extraordinary! We went to this restaurant 3 times and each time it made us enjoy it even more. Geo was our server each time and we are thankful for his hospitality. We felt right at home and will definitely be coming back! If you’re in the area, this is a must stop! William if you ever want to expand to Michigan, let me know! We loved your food so much we are open to having a conversation 😊
Found this hidden gem on accident and so glad we did! William and his staff are so welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious; filled with so much flavour and always freshly made. Found this on our second to last day in town and we went back twice. Highly recommend to give them a try ☺️
I follow a vegan lifestyle, so I asked the owner for a good option. He recommended the trifongo with a red sauce, served alongside a salad with passion fruit dressing. Everything was absolutely amazing—the flavors were rich and vibrant, and the passion fruit dressing was a delightful touch. Gio our waiter was great!
We found this place on Google search. We had just landed to Florida and we're so hungry and craving Puerto Rican food. We got to this little place and from entering we were greeted so well. Our server was Emanuel and he was the best and so much fun to talk to. The food was exceptional. My husband got the Chuleta Kan Kan plate and I got Pernil, arroz con gandules and tostones (pics below). It was all wonderful and definitely going again but with the family. This is a great Puerto Rican diner, clean and inviting with it's vibrant decor and paintings. We highly recommend.
Great spot for authentic cuisine. Had the trifongo with fried pork chunks. Very good! The portion is huge so consider sharing with another appetizer if dining with two. Service was very fast and friendly. Went about 2pm on a Weds for a late lunch and we were seated immediately. 10/10 recommend.
This spot is authentic everything we had was delicious. Geo was a wonderful server. We had the canua with yuca in garlic, chicharon de pollo with yuca fries, arroz con gandules with pernil and yuca fries and ended with vanilla flan. Our plates were left nice and clean. 😊
My first time here while visiting from NY. The food was absolutely delicious! Service was top notch. The place is so beautiful and brought so many awesome childhood memories. I loved everything about it. Definitely recommend this little fabulous place to anyone looking for authentic Puertorican cuisine in Fort Lauderdale.
Our first time being able to make it in to try La Empanada Loca after a few failed attempts. It was prime time 6 pm on a Friday night, so I was hoping it wasn't jammed up because I know it's not a huge place. Well, the wait was 45 min to an hour. We almost lost hope after that news being that we were starving, but we stuck it out. Miracles do happen and the owner called me back in 10 minutes telling me a table was opening up. The place is divided into 2 areas. When you enter, it's kind of like a "to go" kitchen where a lot of people place orders and pick up and leave. Then then dining area which looked to have about 15 tables. We ordered the maduro and beef empanada which were just awesome. The alcapurria and pastele. Both of which you do NOT find in a normal restaurant often and both were fresh and solid! My wife and I for entree both ordered a trifongo, one with pernil and one with skirt steak. The pernil was insane. We can tell this was freshly made pork and it was mashed into the mofongo. The skirt steak, cooked perfectly and very tasty. Only thing was it wasn't hot when it came out. Not a big deal, I still crushed it in just a few minutes. This place is awesome. The wait staff extremely helpful and active. This food is authentic puerto rican food and I will 100% be back soon. Come hungry !!
The atmosphere and friendly staff! You might have to wait a little bit but there’s a reason for it! Freaking delicioussssss!!!! From the People that made us happy! The cooks… Not all Super here is wear capes! This food was excellent! The Owner, wait staff, so kind and the SERVICE!!! Give a try you won’t be disappointed! 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Came here with my friends and family and immediately was greeted with smiles. The atmosphere is homey and overall very clean. Our server, Emanuel, was extremely patient and attentive to us. Great experience. You must try the Arroz con Gandulees con chuleta Kankan with Mofongo, the chicken soup was amazing. It was a 30 minute ride that was worth it.
I love this Gem of a Place, I start coming here a few years ago after longing for some good food from P.R and coming from up north Pennsylvania where you can litterally get it all time, finding this place made me feel like home. Its a vibe all the time from the music to the food to the owners who walk around and greet and treat you like family. I love when I call my order in and they say Hey Nelly cause they know imma eat there at least once a month hands down and im driving 30 minutes to get it. ❤️❤️❤️
When traveling my husband and I love trying new restaurants. Coming from Montreal we don't have many options of Puerto Rican food, if any. Florida has many options. This place, was as good as it gets. If you have ever traveled to Puerto Rico, you know what to expect. This one stand up to those of Puerto Rico. The food, that we tried was exceptional. I had 3 appetizers. A beef empanada, a plantain stuffed with beef and a very thinly sliced piece of deep fried cod, bacalitos. All were excellent. My husband has an order, it was huge, of fried chunks of pork mofongo with, for $1, the trifongo. It was amazing. I highly recommend this place for an authentic Puerto Rican experience. Enjoy.
La Empanada Loca was amazing! We tried three different empanadas, all packed with flavor, and the fried pork trifongo, which was absolutely delicious. The food was exceptional, and our waiter, Geo, made the experience even better with his friendly service and great recommendations. We can't wait to return!
8/17/2024 - We drove 40 mins from Boca Raton to this location cause no restaurant in south Florida can make Puerto Rican food like them from the minute you walk in it feels like you stepped onto the island of Puerto Rico our waiter Manuel was awesome and the owner always has a smile to welcome you, Thank you to the whole staff cooks as well, 8/23/2024 Sorry that was the first time I went again today and I had the same waiter and I took my whole family mom even came down from New York and she had the best time when I tell you they treated us like family it was awesome and if you have been here you know they had a conga set in the back by the restroom my husband was honored to buy the whole set,I promise you your money is well spent here and the atmosphere is awesome please visit at least once I promise you’ll be back❤️
I'll start by saying that I'm not Puerto Rican, but I have been to the island four times and visited friends there who took me to eat at real, local places, so I'm pretty well acquainted with Puerto Rican food. My wife and I stopped by for lunch. This was by far the best mofongo I've ever had outside of Puerto Rico. The degree of ripeness of the plantain, the texture resulting from the frying time, it was fantastic! Rather than getting it with pork skins (chicharrones) we got it with fried pork (called "carne frita" on the menu) which was similar to chicharrón the way it is prepared in South America. The starchy plantain and the crisp, juicy pork perfectly complemented each other. We thought it might not be enough for two, so we ordered a side order of yuca with mojo which came in a darling miniature pot. Boy were we wrong! The mofongo was easily enough for two as we barely finished and enjoyed the yuca at home later that day. The atmosphere was Lively with salsa music playing, the decor had Puerto Rican Carnival masks and pictures of artists on the walls. The service was impeccable, smiling and enthusiastic from greeting us when we first walked in, to taking our orders and bringing them, all the way to bringing the check. The other waiter there also was brimming with enthusiasm. From the accent, we also noticed that plenty of the other people sitting and dining or picking up takeout were Puerto Rican. That tells you the food is authentic. I will definitely be back!
Wow the food was so good. Came over here all the way from the FLL beach area. It was well worth the trek. The pastelon and alcapurria was among the highlights. The stewed yuca was tender and savory-a perfect starchy bite to go with the pork. The staff was helpful, attentive, and made the visit a special experience. Highly recommend!!
Not many places I could start my review with saying WOW . WOW.WOW. AMAZING I have enjoyed my self. The service fast, polite and on the money. No one rushed me to order or to leave. The place sits around 48 people , music is all typical island music salsa in general not to loud. The food was excellent it really took me back to the island for a minute. The coffee.. scores a #10 and the tres Leche speechless.. everything is great . REALLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE IF YOUR IN TOWN ..
I love this place. Their food is always so delicious. It is the most authentic puertorican food in Broward, actually maybe in all of South Florida.
I saw a recent advertisement online about this place and was going to be in the area so this was on my list. Service, food, everything was fantastic. Pastelon empanada was legit the best I've ever had and I've had a lot of empanadas. Rice, beans, dessert. All fantastic and highly recommend.
If I could use one word to describe my experience, the restaurant, the service and the food it'll be.....outstanding !!! The service was genuinely sweet, can't remember the name of the gentleman who took my order but he was friendly. Savanah took over the register and proudly showed me the art work on the wall in the dining area done by her uncle, the owner. Definitely, a warm friendly, family atmosphere with great food. I ordered the pork chop mofongo and it was absolutely delicious. The portions were big, came with a fresh salad and ordered a Puerto Rican soda just to add to compliment the meal. They are located just south of Commercial Blvd on Dixie hwy. Parking can be a challenge pending on time of day but a small price to pay for the hospitality and good food. I highly recommend this location for the food, the excellent customer service and we should support of local businesses. Continue providing g8 service to our community.
We LOVED our lunch at La Empanada Loca! None of us speak Spanish, but the staff was very helpful and attentive. John helped us figure out what we wanted and explained everything on the menu. We will be back, the next time we are in Miami!
Excellent typical food from 🇵🇷, it will give you that Ratatouille experience., savoring does delicious and unique dishes from the island. Our group was around 10-12 people and the service was A+....food was served in about 25-30 minutes for all of us hot or cold depending on the dish. Ambient was good with my only comment that the music was too loud for my preference. I had to be raising my voice alot during my conversation with people sitting next to me.
Food was beyond delicious. Authentic Puerto Rican food with good sazón 🤤 Coming from Orlando to the area for work frequently. Follow them for a couple of years in social media and finally made it!!! And Let me tell you it was worth it, food did not disappoint. We order multiple items from the menu and they were all cooked to perfection. Atmosphere and service were excellent! See you soon!!
The food here was absolutely AMAZING! Our waitress was the chef’s niece and was super sweet and attentive. When I say the food is authentic - I swore my mother in law (best cook EVER) was in the back cooking for us. Everything was seasoned to perfection. We had a pastel, pollo a la plancha, Pernil, and arroz con gandules. The portions were a generous size and the prices are reasonable. The vibe was cozy and a very welcoming atmosphere. Will go back a million times!
What can I say about La Empanada Loca?? 🥟 TOTALLY AMAZING!! OMG the food was so good nice chill atmosphere and the prices were good for the empanadas, and the price is varied for the platters and meals. But let me tell you the empanadas were filled all the way with meat and cheese or whatever it is that you got. I ordered 1 chicken and cheese, 1 beef and cheese, and 1 guava and cream!! ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! 😋 I would definitely recommend this place! It's located on Dixie highway just south of Commercial Boulevard! Check out the pictures of the place really cool also! ENJOY!!
The empanadas were awesome. They were like a pound each. I ordered three I couldn’t eat all three of them and reminds me of the New York restaurant the CuchiFritos in 116th St. in New York. Awesome food awesome service. We visited them all the way from West Palm Beach continue to do good. Don’t change the cooking. God bless you and I wish you the best.
We had a great experience at The Empanada Loca! We were greeted promptly, seated right away, and the restaurant was very clean. The food was delicious. The bacalaitos were large enough to share, the alcapurria was perfectly fried and flavorful, and the Jibarito platter was very generous. The palomilla was juicy and paired perfectly with the red beans. We will definitely be back!
From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with the amazing staff. The food was amazing and everyone worked together to assure that we were taken care of. This was my first visit here and I definitely highly recommend this place. Our waiter Emanuel made sure all our needs were met. Outstanding, thank you.
If I could give this place a 10/5 star review, I would. The food was amazing and probably the best Puerto Rican food I've ever had. We were in the area for a couple days and the empanadas were so good we came back the next day to get more. We got chicken and pernil with rice ,beans, and tostones. Everything had incredible flavor and was cooked perfectly. Can't forget that the service we received from Gio was top notch! Thank you for a great experience, we will definitely be back and highly recommend!
We used La Empanada Loca to cater for my mother’s life celebration and the owner (who is amazing) helped us capture her favorite appetizers and food in the right portions. His kindness and patience were priceless. The people in attendance loved the food.
The food is AMAZING! The trifongo was great! The churrasco was good; the chuleta with rice n red beans muy Rico !! Fresh limonada Dios todo muy bueno ! Gracias
While on vacation in Fort Lauderdale any Best friend recommended I stop La Empanada Loca to try authentic Puertorican cuisine. Let’s just say the food and drinks did not disappoint. Being from out of town the server Manuel did an excellent job recommending different dishes to suit our taste. My two daughters and I had a great lunch and even took some leftovers on the road. If you’re in town I highly recommend you stop by and try it out.
This restaurant deserves more stars ⭐️ The food, the ambiance, the service, everything was spectacular. Our server Emanuel surpassed all of our expectations about what an excellent service should be. The flavor of the food makes you not want to stop eating. Definitely the best place we’ve eaten in years.
The food was good but some food to me was not authentic. I was looking for Bacalaitos but it was made different but was good. Also the Alcapurrias was different less 🍖 meat and different was OK. I love the plantain burger different but was great. Service was great and people was great. A must try 👌
We came here with the family yesterday for the first time, and as soon as you get out of your car, you can already smell the aroma of delicious food being made. The restaurant is a little on the small side, so if it’s busy, you’re going to be waiting for a table to open up, but believe me when I say... The wait is worth it... The food is amazing!!! The servers are friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect with Spanish music playing in the background. I would definitely be back!!! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Authentic Puerto Rican food, excellent and the service too. Place is very small but nicely decorated. Fit 38 occupants and not that easy to park the car. I’ve been there twice looking forward to visit again. When I got there they don’t have any table available they told us that we can seat by the little bar. I asked for a Medalla beer and before I get to half of my beer they had a table for us, great service and tasty food!
Very good reasonable prices. Very good tasty pork chops/ red beans and generous portion of Mofongo Pernil. Service was excellent. Super clean.Parking is limited.
Food good service was good. Saw a Valencia bakery truck in front. Anyone from the bronx knows Valencia Cakes. Owner came over and told us that they are delivering cakes. With some hesitation we got one for my nephew birthday. Cake was delicious and was fresh!! We loved it!! Food was good, had white rice black beans and fried chicken chucks. Would come again and again.
Puertorican food is not my usual latin food to go to, but we saw this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. The food tasted really good, and usually you can taste a similar flavor with other latin foods, My only disappointment will be the size of the portions compared to the price and location.
Real Puerto Rican taste in food, their "pique" or hotsauce should be from PR, guys, please... food was awesome, needed that spike; maybe partner with Puerto Rican pique maker, restaurants in Orlando, sometimes branded ones and are for sale too. Service was ok, for drinks we have sangria; again regular powdered one... someone you know has a recipe. But still, with all those opportunities, I will definitely come back and recommend because maybe I had higher expectations.
My family are from Puerto Rico, my mother use to be the main cook and would make the most amazing authentic Puerto Rican dishes. My and sister and I were excited to find this place especially with all the great reviews, we walked in, were seated immediately, we told our waiter it's our first time there and I think we must of looked excited, we got Puerto Rican beers, he asked what we wanted, we told him alcapurrias, he asked what's else, we told him we were still making our minds up, and wanted to start off with that, again our first time there. We needed time to review the menu( I honestly wanted 3 of everything) they came back with the alcapurrias and a pasteles(which we shared) , it was full of flavor. He came back and we asked for another two pastels and he said they didn't have anymore, my sister and I looked sadly at each other , and he's said, "well let me check maybe I can find one back there for you", we advise him, we were hoping to take some to go, well he came back with more, pastels. We ordered some arroz con gandules which we didn't eat. Then we wanted to order some alcapurrias to go and as I was trying to decide how many(honestly the moment it took me to turn and look at my sister to ask her how many she wanted, my waiter said something which I couldn't make out what he said, but as I looked at him he did the hand gesture like "hurry up" I was in shock. I couldn't believe it, the whole time we felt rushed and when we asked for the alcapurrias he said they were completely out, he never asked if we wanted another drink. We felt as if he didn't want to attend us, I don't know maybe they have a limit? Maybe he was on a rush to go home, Or maybe he was having a bad day... everyone else we briefly encountered seemed nice, and brought us our food with a smile. Son mi gente and we left so disappointed and heartbroken, somewhere we thought would feel like home. I can say I would never go back, we were nice and left a tip(which he didn't deserve) Server on my receipt : Enma A
Great service, and the decor is great. I was expecting to love their food... but in my experience, it was so so.... the mofongo was grainy. The meat flavor was more like sazón flavor and not on the good side. Another thing is that the mayoketchup is an extra charge, and the dressing for the salad was super sour. If we return... I will try something different and see how it goes.... anyways give them a try.
Worst food ever! And expensive! The place gives a weird vibes when you walk in, we order chicken breast with rice and beans side of fries one mofongo with the cheapest choice of meat “palomilla steak” and two empanadas two drinks all of this for $70 dollars but i sont complaint about the price is is worth it this place gave us one rotten empanada 🤢 the steak tastes nasty the beans didn’t have flavor everything was absolutely disgusting this is not a real puerto rican restaurant never come here waste your time
