Peter Pan Diner Oakland Park Reviews
Finally found an amazingly delicious Greek diner!! Casual dinner with lots of table/booth seating and a bar. I had the Rachel sandwich with sweet potato fries and omg was it good!! The rye bread was toasted perfectly, generous portion of pastrami that tasted freshly sliced, melted Swiss cheese and sauerkraut was incredibly yummy!!! My sweet potato fries were fried exactly how I like them, too —crunchy on the outside, but soft inside. Fiancé ordered the gyro sandwich with seasoned fries. Also hearty portion of gyro meat. Simple sandwich, but everything was super fresh and the tzatziki sauce added so much flavor. Derroll gave excellent service, too!! Food was delivered hot and fast, funny personality and anticipated our need for more napkins delivering them before I could ask. I appreciate the little things like that.
We dined during the early bird special (3-6pm). There are many choices on the menu. Each dish came with two sides, drink and dessert. All of our dishes were made from scratch. I love liver and onions and this place makes it really good. I recommend trying their Avgolemono soup-it’s a creamy lemon chicken soup. The place was busy and the people working there are kind and helpful.
This iconic dinner has been around forever. Walk inside and anyone who was in their 20’s or 30’s in the 90’s will remember late night breakfast after a good night out. The inside is exactly the same and breakfast is still one of the best. Prices are reasonable too. Love this place and love the memories. If you’re in Fort Lauderdale this is a must stop.
The Pauly Slam is my favorite meal ever. I think it would be my last meal if I were on death row. Pancakes are so fluffy 😋 Plus their fried chicken is the most perfectly crispy & delicious chicken in the world.
I love this place, Darrell or Daryl is fabulous, love him, love being able to talk to others there and not even know them. Got the fish, bake potatoes, Cole slaw and a very delicious cake. When I make it back there, I will definitely go back.
Grilled meat platter, spiral grilled meat and sandwiches are all recommended. It was my first time to try Greek food. It turns out that this place is open until 11pm The environment is relatively large. Friendly waiters
Located at the intersection of Oakland Park Blvd. and Dixie Highway, Peter Pan Diner offers daily a vast variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes at reasonable prices for dine in, takeout, and delivery. After being greeted by the hostess, she quickly seated me at an available table. My server soon came after overlooking the menu and took my order of a cup of hot tea and the Willie French Connection which consisted of eggs, French toast, 2 bacon strips, and 2 sausage links. Here's my take on the food... * Hot tea was soothing. A small teapot filled with hot water was provided in case you wanted a second cup. * Eggs was scrambled and made to my liking. Added a bit of salt & pepper for flavor. * Bacon was crispy and though I'm not a fan of sausage, it was ok. If I order this again I will substitute the sausage for extra bacon. * Though the French toast wasn't made with that cinnamon essence that I absolutely love, it was still good without having an eggy taste. Overall the meal was enjoyable. The bustling diner had that casual atmosphere where you can come in and socialize over some good food. I have to give a lot of credit to the whole staff. Each server gave attention to their tables in a timely manner and were very pleasant. Even the busboy was quick in clearing the dirty dishes and wiping the tables clean for the next patron(s). I look forward on returning to try another dish.
We were visiting Ft. Lauderdale from Canada over the holidays and came here for Christmas dinner. The food was amazing, huge portions/ well priced, service friendly and attentive. Family run business and it felt like we were with family! We ate there 4 more times in the next few days before we left. Everything we tried was delicious- chicken parm, club sandwich, brisket dinner, lamb with orzo, burgers, etc., ALL fresh and tasty! Thank you!
Went here for the first time on a recommendation; returned because the food is that good. The staff is friendly, the menu extensive and the food quality is excellent. They use a house mix in their Bloody Mary which provided a nice kick. Well worth the visit!
It was my second time going ama it's officially my new favorite place. You came beat the food and the value. Service was great!! Everyone was friendly.
Reminds me of a typical Greek diner in NY, with one difference not worth mentioning but if you know, you know. I had the cheeseburgers which are char broiled and while they always get the temperature wrong it’s delicious. Also got their homemade baklava which was really well made. I’m going to go back and try a Gyro and Spanokopita and breakfast. If you’re around the area or even maybe 30 minutes away it’s worth a drive. It’s a really good throwback Greek diner owned by a Greek family. The service is always very good and the prices are very fair. 5 stars
I love me some Peter Pan! Although it’s not as Neverland themed on the menu as you would expect 😂 they have some great filling offerings so come hungry! Since I know the management actually takes their guests feedback into consideration and cares I will say I love the early bird specials but wish it included Pepsi as a beverage choice for us non Coffee / Tea drinkers, it would be an easy substitute and make a lot of people happy. 😁
This was a great experience. The food was quick, fast and plentiful, two bites in I knew it was spot on (1 bite omelet, one bite potatoes). Had the 4 egg omelet and could not finish it all, unusual for me. Asked how the got the name and supposedly "pulled from a hat". Anyway while return when I'm back in Fort Lauderdale.
Peter Pan is one of my favorite stops on the way home from Miami. The setting is a 1980s-era New York style Greek diner. Portion sizes served are very generous for your money compared to corporate franchises. Their service is quick and competent. The only downfall is that they are not open 24 hours anymore.
First of all, Ms. Barbara is the sweetest and greatest server of all times! She had a whole area of large parties and she still managed to check on us, keep the coffee and refills coming, and was socialable! I even directed other guests to join us in singing happy birthday to her! She's absolutely amazing. Then there was the food that tasted like heaven!!!! Omg, the skirt steak was juicy and cooked medium just how I like it. The pancakes were hot, fluffy, and buttered as I expected. The home fries were seasoned and perfect. And last but not least, the cheese eggs were tasty as I had hoped. Family friendly. Great customer service. Reasonably fast seating, ordering, and serving. Large portions.
Peter Pan Diners very old school. They have great Greek food. They're very good dinner specials at a reasonable price.
Delicious Greek diner! Has so many options and the food was great! Staff was very nice and attentive.
We make a point of coming here whenever we’re in town. Staff are super friendly and the food is home made. Comes out hot and fast.
There are not many Diners like the ones in the northeast down in south Florida. My experience hasn't been good at other locations, but Peter Pan Diner is the real deal. Where else can you go and order Corned beef and cabbage on a weekly basis? I love their specials. The staff is always friendly, and while this Diner is BIG inside, it does regularly get full. Support the local businesses of Oakland Park!!
Went here on a Sunday for brunch and expected a long wait. Was surprised to be seated right away. The waitress was very attentive and the food came out fast. Everything was cooked to order and everyone in the party liked their food. It was a bit noisy but it is a busy restaurant. I will be back.
My husband and I came for our first time today and it was absolutely the best! We got a patty melt and the lunch special of Salisbury steak and let me just tell you I think that Salisbury steak is going to be one of my top favorites! And for the lunch special it was only $10!! The portions were huge, we will be back very soon!
This place is a not so hidden gem. Their food is amazing and it is price friendly. We go once a month at least since it’s not too close
When I came here, I expected a standard pancakes' breakfast; man, was I surprised!!!! 😀 The Peter Pan Diner will take you to "Never Land"! "NEVER" have I ordered a side of hash browns, that was equivalent to "3" whole potatoes!!! The pancakes were no less than "1 inch" thick, 2 scrambled eggs seemed like 3 eggs and the sausage links were 5 inches long! All of that for under $14.00 You won't be disappointed by the charming g personalities of every waitress, especially Darla! You owe a visit to Peter Pan, to get a lot of " pixie dust" sprinkled on YOU!
We came in in the mood for breakfast. I ordered the Willie French connection as usual. We didn't know what appetizer we wanted and our waiter Jonathan recommended the Chicken Tenders, said their better then any you'll get at a sports bar and my God he was RIGHT! They were SPECTACULAR! Perfect with our Willie French connection. Their honey mustard is the best I've ever had as well. Highly recommend this place for a late night craving.
Food was absolutely AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS!!! My client & I didn’t have the chance to eat but bc we had a quick break between events we decided on this place. The food was absolutely amazing!!! The service was alright but the girl had a chip on her shoulder, you could tell that her attitude wasn’t great. Otherwise we were fully & VERY VERY HAPPY with the food. It hit the spot just RIGHT!!!
They welcomed us as we walked in. The waitress was very personable and took our order without writing it down, and everything was correct! The food was very good. We will absolutely go back again.
A wonderful old family diner with a huge menu and excellent service! We walked in and immediately felt comfortable and at home. There were plenty of servers providing quick and attentive service and they all seemed to genuinely enjoy their guests and their job! The food was great! I had the gyro and it was everything I wanted it to be, loaded with meat and the perfect amount of sauce. It's not a new and trendy place, it's a good old and homey place to get a great meal.
If my friend and I could give 100 stars, we would! The ambiance is perfect, service is top tier, food is delicious and an all around amazing experience Their Bloody Mary is the perfect amount of spice and light Our waitress, Kassandra, went above and beyond to make our “designer dessert” which was phenomenal My friend and I will return!
Great spot for a great food when you’re in a rush and don’t want to break the bank usually go there for breakfast even if it’s late been here forever checking them out
I am so glad we found this place. The name alone pulled me in so we had to try it. My friends and I had just gotten done with work and probably smelled a little sweaty but the staff was still warm and welcoming. Daryl, our server, was amazing, made us feel comfortable instantly, and read our minds about what we needed to drink. He was also on point with suggesting what to eat without really saying what we were in the mood for. Without any reason, he suggested their souvlaki and I have been craving Mediterranean food so it was perfect. The portions were massive. You get your money's worth in terms of food where lots of other places are skimping these days. I would recommend this diner to anyone and everyone.
I had a great dinner at a reasonable price yesterday at this Greek diner. A bonus was our Greek waitress, Olga, who was extraordinary!
In love with this place. Classic diner. Has a counter, has small booth seating, large group seating, plenty of free parking. Wide variety on the menu. Service is super friendly. We will keep coming back!
My new local go-to since moving to the area. I've eaten here at least 5 times now in a month. Always great friendly service. My favs are Lamb Shanks, Roast Lamb Leg (Sunday only) and the chicken soups. For good wholesome eating you can't beat this fine establishment around since before I was born 😍
So my sister and I were on the hunt for a breakfast spot containing a bar. I know of Peter Pan from its hay day commercial on local TV. Safe to say this place still holds water. Servers Leslie and Darryl were top notch. Drink menu is delicious and servers suggestions were on point. This place has plenty of free parking just east of Dixie Highway. The only complaint, I miss their old moving sign. Love Peter Pan Diner.
1st time here, our waitress Barbara was fantastic! Would highly recommend coming here! 5 stars!
Great experience! Server was very attentive and friendly, food was good and came out quickly. The whole restaurant was very clean as well.
We were in this area for a weekend visit and decided to try a different breakfast place rather than one of the normal chain restaurants. So I went strictly off Google reviews and found this place. It was very busy for a Sunday morning but they had us seated within 5 minutes. The service was as expected to be for a busy day. If you leave here hungry, there is just something wrong with you internally. Everyone at our table said the food was fantastic and well worth it. Their prices were very reasonable and for our party of five it only set us back $60. The only drawback for us was this place serves Pepsi products which we are not a fan of , but that's no reason this place should not get a 5 star.
Baby Darrell was the man best service hands down. Thank you for making our first time special 💗
I was hungry at 1000 at night and was craving a Greek salad..but from where?, I asked myself...I checked online, and sure enough they were open until 11. I have been coming here for years and my favorite is the Greek salad with blackened chicken on top. I had to finish with a slice of baklava..perfect as always!
Peter Pan Diner is an institution! Honestly I never have had anything bad here- everything on the menu is great. My personal favorite is the avoglemono soup, French toast, and the omelettes. All the sandwiches are great too! They also have a full bar so it’s great for a hair of the dog breakfast. Basically it’s a friendly local diner with great selection, wonderful service, and good prices. Highly recommended.
Not only was the food amazing but the server Spring went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you for giving us the best experience all around. We will definitely recommend this slamming place and tell them about the amazing service that comes with the amazing food.
Home away from home for me. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner frequently! Love omelettes, Eggs Benedict, or a good southern gravy and biscuit. Everything is wonderful! For lunch, delicious soup and salad or one of their yummy sandwiches work well or a juicy burger or a Greek Gyro and salad, Spanikopita even! Any of the above work for dinner too. Oh and don't forget dessert! There's just about anything you could want!
Let me start off saying this place is not “fancy”… it’s nostalgic. It’s truly one of the last gems in Ft Lauderdale that’s been open 24 hours a day since 1979. We went there after a concert for a late night “breakfast” and it hit the spot. Our waitress was super friendly, the food is good diner food and the atmosphere takes you back to the 1980s. If you’re looking for Comfort late night food give it a try ;)
Best eggplant parmigiana in Broward County. Darrel is our awesome waiter and bartender. Always so attentive and remembers our drinks and foods. It’s a must visit the lounge side of Peter Pan. There is always a pleasant experience.
There pancakes are amazing! I usually get the eggs Benedict but it was after 12 and they stop making it after that time. I’m sure it because they make the sauce fresh and once it’s done. It’s done. Now I know to get there way before 12. I’ve tried their Greek salad with chicken once. And the dressing is so tasty. Reminds me when I went to Greece
This is a great place! Tasty food and plenty of it. 😀 We eat here any time of day, an me it's always good. Fun atmosphere too - it's a very popular place.
Delicious! And come hungry and early if you want to beat the crowd! We had 3 people in our party and we split the Western omelette and the veggie omelette! Perfect amount of food- sorry- didn’t take any pics- we cleaned our plates!
Met my business partner here. I dont have access to many diners in Miami. Restaurant has old decor from the late 70s. Dont focus on that. in the mood for soup. Waitress suggested get the soup and whole sandwich. Have not had that combo in YEARS. She said the make there own Roast beef and Turskeys and slic them. She suggested the split 🫛 soup. Really good. Also I had the Turkey 🥪. Also really good. Its seems this place makes very good home cooked meals. Definitely worth visiting, in an old run down neighborhood.
I came for breakfast and it was a good one. The restaurant has a good variety of items on the menu. This is my second time here. I have always been happy with the food. The lunch menu looks great. I have come back for lunch. The service was great and friendly. The waiter had a great personality. He was welcoming and helpful. He made my experience great.
Always great! Our go to place when we hungry & don't want to risk disappointment. Recently had the Gyro Omelet, it was delicious! Their soups are all excellent. A true 5 Star Diner!
First time here. Our friend brought us to see her friend who is a server there. He was amazing and so funny. The comfort food was great. The fish sandwich was huge well worth it. Prices were really good, food was great
Love Peter Pans 24 hour restaurant that is ready when you are. Early bird 3 to 5 I think. With prefix meal. We couldn't eat it all there was so much food. We will share next time.
Old school diner with amazing service and food. Susan was a delight. The Greek omelette was so delicious that I came back the following morning
We go eat Dinner here like every 3 weeks. I get my Willie French connection which is breakfast but it is so good. My wife changes things up and my daughter who is vegetarian finds food she enjoys.
Amazing! This place is a gem. Absolutely great tasting food, the place fit our entire group of 13 with ease. The waitress Spring, THE BEST SERVICE EVER. She handled our group and kept up with everything. Didn't miss a beat. She was truly helpful and would come again to keep the laughs going with her. I recommend the Willys breakfast. It was delicious and gigantic for those who are really hungry. Home Potatoes are the best. Crunchy and have a great taste due to the crispy fried onions.
One of my absolute favorite places to go! A Fort Lauderdale staple with outstanding diner and Greek comfort Food. We had the pleasure of having Olga wait on our table the other night, and she was a delight. I remembered her from the diner she owned down the road several years ago and I knew I was in good hands immediately. She gave the care and attention to our table like she did in her own restaurant. So happy to see her again. Thank you Olga, and thank you Peter Pan for many great years of food and service! Looking forward to dining with you again soon.
I have been seeing this place since I was a kid. We would just drive by on our way somewhere. Finally I decided I wanted to go eat there. We were so surprised at how wonderful this place is! Jose, our waiter, was very attentive. The menu had plenty of options for everyone. Most of us opted for the Daily special. There was not a single complaint. The food tastes homemade and was delicious! The prices were more than reasonable! It was quiet enough to have a conversation but also not uncomfortably silent. This is now our new Diner of choice!
✨🍰 Peter Pan Diner in Oakland Park is one of those rare, timeless places that instantly makes you feel at home. From the moment you walk in, it has a classic diner charm that is welcoming, unpretentious, and full of comfort. The service is friendly and efficient, the kind where you’re greeted with a smile and treated like a regular even on your first visit. The food is exactly what you hope for in a beloved diner: generous portions, well-prepared classics, and consistently satisfying. But let’s be honest, the real stars here are the desserts. The dessert case alone is worth the visit. Towering cakes, rich cream pies, cheesecakes, and old-fashioned favorites are displayed like works of art, making it nearly impossible to choose just one. Each dessert tastes as good as it looks. Fresh, indulgent, and clearly made with care. Whether it’s a slice of chocolate cake layered with luscious frosting, a perfectly balanced cheesecake, or a nostalgic cream pie, every bite feels like a little celebration. It’s the kind of place where you order dessert even if you’re full and never regret it. Peter Pan Diner isn’t just a place to eat, it’s a South Florida institution. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or “just dessert,” it’s the kind of spot you’ll keep coming back to, especially when you’re craving something sweet and comforting done just right. 🍰💛
Ember, my service dog, and I recently visited Peter Pan Diner in Fort Lauderdale for breakfast. We had no issues dining here, and our server, Lana, was attentive. The diner had a charming, old-school vibe, which was quite appealing. However, the food was just decent. I ordered an omelet, only to discover it didn’t come with cheese unless you paid extra, which wasn’t mentioned by our server. The food arrived quickly, but the limited jelly options (only grape) were a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but with some room for improvement.
Large menu of classic diner style comfort foods, plus greek favorites. A great place to share a few dishes among friends. Great selection of cakes if you have a sweet tooth and saved room for dessert.
Parking is kind of a mess, but we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. Food was good, except only Pepsi products to drink. Waitress was very friendly. Prices are reasonable
Chicken souvlaki was absolutely delicious... Every mouthful was bursting with flavour... Would highly recommend this restaurant!
If you're looking for a true diner experience with a gigantic menu, Peter Pan Diner is a great choice. It's an early 1990s vibe inside the place, but it's comfortable, clean, and decently maintained. The staff members were exceptionally friendly, and the food was good. Prices were very reasonable and the portions were large. We'll be back.
Always drove by this place and finally decided to check it out. A classic American diner with an interesting Greek twist to it. The menu is pretty varied and suprisingly has many Greek options. The Gyro omelet was pretty good and the house potatoes were delicious too. The food came out very quickly and the service was on point. The ambience is your classic diner vibe and the prices are very affordable. Will be coming back!
I liked this place because the server staff were really nice. You also get a lot of food for the price apparently inflation has not been pushed to the menu prices at least yet. The place does have a little Peter Pan sparkle with a very inclusive vibe and that makes the coffee even better.
Went to eat lunch with a female friend who recommended there establishment. was not waiting line. Got great waitress we got. I had the gyro platter. Was perfect. Just what I was looking for. Big plate. Nice experience i experienced there, my favorite,,,,.. NO BEGGERS WAITING TO HARASS YOU. WITH THERE agenda of UNEDUCATED, IGNORANT, ARROGANT COMENTS. Also I drive a big beast 25 ft. lenth..10.5 high.. great parking....thank you pp.
The staff are so very amazing and attentive. The manager brought out slices of cake for my kids, just because. My youngest isn't a fan of chocolate cake and said something to our waitress and she gave him a slice of raspberry layer cake all on the house. And the prices are great!
We stopped here for breakfadt after dropping friends at Port Everglades. I found this place using a google search for places that serve breakfast and on the way home to Sebastian. We were never here before. The diner was nice and clean, bright and sunny inside. It's fairly large and even has a separate room used as a lounge and for large parties. The food is typical diner fair with breakfast available all day. I had an omelet and my friend a burger. Both were very good. Our server was nice and good at her job. We would definitely eat here again in the future. This diner has a lot of seating and was very busy. It seems like a favorite eating spot in this area.
Great prices and pleasant atmosphere. Service is excellent. Not all of the food is great. Stick with “diner basics” (breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers and salads) and you’ll be fine. The homemade white and dark breads are great!
Straight up just your typical greasy spoon dinner. You get exactly what you would expect from such a diner. Large portions of average food at reasonable prices served by an absolute fabulous staff. No matter what you try from appetizers and sandwiches to full blown dinners, you will leave full and with a smile from good service. This is a great place for the value overall as long as keeping in the context of a greasy spoon diner. There is also a cozy bar area too.
First bad experience and hopefully the last. We are regulars since we love the food and the friendly atmosphere. However today I called for a pickup order. I asked for two soups and sandwiches Lunch Special and the lady was charming. The great deal with this special is a soup and a sandwich for $11-13. But when the cashier asked for a total of $33 and change, I told her the price was not what was written on the menu. She then told me that the deal was IN RESTAURANT ONLY. The menu doesn’t mention anything about it. The lady who took my phone order apologized she forgot to mention it. So I asked the cashier if she could do something about it. She said she will take a $6 off the bill (price of one soup). I believe that she should have honored what was written on the menu. So I paid $27 and didn’t feel I had to leave a tip (I always leave a tip for a takeout). I am still leaving a three stars because I am trying to be a nice guy. But please owner, tell your team to be more accurate with pricing. Thank you. Michel
Exelente. Servicio los meseros. Son amables. Y la comida es rápida. Solo el café. No es muy bueno. Sabe. Agua. Con color
2 of 3 meals were inedible, left hungry. The garden burger was the one edible item. Even toast was at best crusty white bread w/ no discoloration. It was dirty all over. It smelled. Guessing average age of customers was 78 (so many older). Ironic. Waitress was friendly.
This place is not worth a visit. Food is bland nothing was good. I was served warm chocolate milk and burnt eggs. I will never return. My hotel breakfast was better than here! So you the owner are calling me a liar on my room temperature chocolate milk huh? I consider any milk not cool or cold as warm. My server was an older lady with all the gold jewelry. Is there still something with my review now??? Your restaurant was not worth the recommendations I received to eat there. Update: I went and read all the bad reviews about this restaurant and I noticed a pattern, you can't handle anyone actually leaving a bad review. You dismiss people's claims and downplay anything that shows your restaurant in a negative light. I actually visited your restaurant sat in the booth in the corner by the front door, near the counters. Had an older lady with died black hair and a ton of jewelry serve us, she was fantastic. However the chocolate milk "made with syrup" was Luke warm. Check the video footage if you want. I complained about it to the guest that was with me. Ordered the 2 eggs with bacon and home fries, white bread toast with strawberry jelly. My eggs I asked for scrambled with cheese, did not receive my order with cheese...and the eggs had a bunch of "freckles" or brown burnt spots on them. I didn't ask for different food bc you get one chance to get a first impression right. You failed and I left a basic review. But you tell me "we don't serve warm milk, there is something wrong with my review. Have a good day and don't worry, you won't ever see me in your restaurant again when I travel thru the area. 2nd update drug here by my father in law again. Tried to make it work. Ordered a breakfast sandwich. Of course it's burnt eggs and cold cheese with toast. I literally could make better food at home!!!
I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food was not tasty at all — everything lacked flavor and didn’t seem fresh. On top of that, the service was terrible. Our waitress was rude, inattentive, and made us feel uncomfortable. I definitely would not recommend this place and won’t be coming back.
I travel 30 miles at least once a week to eat at your diner. we enjoy the food and the friendly atmosphere, and you are open later than most diners. Obviously I've never had a problem until recently and when we went to your manager (Costa) (the bald older man) to explain what happened, we were very disappointed in the response that we got, the (first dish) that we ordered was flounder florentine, it was a teeny tiny piece of fish on top of a big square of spinach and onion, "that wasn't flounder florentine" it was (Just Florentine) so we went over to the manager (Costa once again) and he told us to order something else, which we did and that was also a disappointment too, I ordered chicken kabob (2nd Dish) which is usually delicious and it was raw on the inside. I took pictures of it and I went over to the manager and I told him what happened and it didnt phase him one bit and (Costa) said "WELL I'M SORRY THAT'S HOW WE MAKE IT" and we said "no that's not how you make it" it was raw so I've been trying to get in contact with the owner to tell him what was going on.. I don't know if you have a new chef or what, but it was a huge disappointment for us, and we haven't been back since.. I hope someone can reach out to us. EDIT TO OWNER RESPONCE, WE TRIED TO REACH OUT BUT NO ONE RESPONDED?
The worst food ever. Run far and fast. I was served spolied inedible food for $40. **In response to being called a lier by the owner, why dont you question your cook and staff. I see you like to investigate profiles so you can stalk or discredit an honest review. Perhaps I should comb through all the pos remarks to see how many are true.
Heard so many good things about this place so my boyfriend and I decided to give it a try. After 10/15 minutes after we were seated no one came by and even acknowledged us. Two ladies came in and were seated and not even 2 minutes later and they were already being helped. Will never try this place again. It would be understandable if it was busy but considering 3 tables were sat in the whole diner definitely not acceptable. The owner is delusional. Very arrogant and doesn't take responsibility for any actions of this establishment or the staff. In complete denial going off the reviews who gave this place a low rating.
Just had, without exaggeration, the worst restaurant experience of my life. This was my first visit and will be my last. The food was actually fine, which somehow makes the rest of this even more embarrassing for the place. The issue was a blatant failure in communication and an even bigger failure in management. We ordered two entrees. One with fries, but the other we wanted something else. I asked about upgrading the side for that 2nd entree and was clearly told upgrades were $1.50. I asked what the other options were, onion rings and “other things” were mentioned, and when I specifically asked about potato salad, I was told yes. At no point was I told that potato salad carried a $5 upcharge. Not once. If I had known that, I never would have ordered it. I only found out after we finished eating when the check arrived. I politely pointed out the charge and explained the miscommunication. What followed was unreal. The manager, an older woman who never bothered to give her name, immediately became rude and dismissive. Her response was essentially “too bad, you should’ve said something earlier,” which makes zero sense since you don’t receive the bill until after the meal. She kept repeating the same illogical nonsense instead of listening, even when a staff member tried to explain on my behalf that I was never informed of the price difference. She spoke down to me, argued instead of resolving a simple issue, and made it very clear she does not understand customer service on even the most basic level. She then escalated the situation to outright absurdity by alluding to theft and yelling at the waiter Jose to come out and have a whole confrontational conversation with me about the miscommunication. ABSOLUTELY INSANITY! This entire confrontation was over $3.50. To avoid further nonsense, I paid. Then I made a point to tip my waiter Jose separately, because he was polite, professional, and the only person there who acted like an adult. To top it off, this manager was openly rude to her own staff while we were eating, which should’ve been the warning sign. This place is run by someone who is hostile, condescending, and completely unfit to interact with customers. To the owner! I have some questions: 1. Do you train your managers to nickel-and-dime customers over literal pocket change, or is that behavior encouraged as a personal pastime? 2. Is it company policy to gaslight customers for not magically knowing prices they were never told, then blame them for your staff’s failure to communicate? 3. Do you honestly believe a successful business is built by arguing with paying customers, refusing to fix obvious mistakes, and escalating minor issues into hostile confrontations like children instead of resolving them like professionals? There are a million diners out there. Go to literally any other one. I’m begging you!! What a horrible way to start the new year, and I’m surprised a business like this has made it this far. 🚮🗑️🚮🗑️
Let me drop this right here and watch the owner of this establishment spiral out of control and misuse Google reviews to inform his customers how wrong they are for providing feedback that doesn't suit him. Service at this Diner has always been on point, by several of the servers working here at all times of the day. Spring is wonderful, friendly, genuine and efficient beyond expectations. The food meets and has often exceeded expectations. So why the one star? Because it only takes ONE bad experience for someone to sit down and write a review. The OWNER has an attitude and an ego that apparently has grown for over the last forty years that he has owned this place. I was informed of his tenure by a fellow. He must have been twelve when he became owner, which explains his non-existent maturity level. Talking down to your customers is no way to speak to anyone. Chek yourself sir you are doing no one any good. Let me give you a piece of advice that I know your incompetence will force you to react, stay home and don't come to Peter Pan Diner. The business runs just fine without you there, and don't worry I will do the same from now on.
I asked our server what the difference was between the Athenian and Feta Omelette and told me that the Feta Omelette doesn't have spinach. So I ordered the Athenian. Went I got my plate it didn't hit me until I was almost done with it that there was no feta cheese on it. I then showed my server and are looked totally confused and didn't know what to say. I then asked her I need one Athenian to go. Well to my surprise the Athenian to go also had no feta cheese on it. As you'll see in the pic below. I came here cause my friend comes here and he likes it, but I won't be back again.
The first and last time I go here. I ordered the pot roast and I literally got slices of bad beef resembling a cheap piece of cube steak or something with some brown gravy and mashed potatoes and nothing else. I felt like I was eating at an inexpensive cafeteria. I know diner food isn't supposed to be special but this was just bad even in diner standards!
