Moo Bong Ri Oakland Reviews
I really wanted to try Blood Sausage Soup after hearing my friend who just came back from Korea, say she had it three days in a row. Luckily, I found a place tjhat serves it! I ordered the Spicy Blood Sausage Soup, which came with blood susage, broth, offal and meats. I would say the blood sausage had a really interesting texture, chewy but soft at the same time. I don't fully get the hype around it, but the flavor was really good! We also tried the Spicy Stir-fried Octopus & Noodle, which tasted really delicious. it came with lots of small octopus and shrimps, and the flaor was enhanced by Bonito flakes and sesame oil, giving it a really unique taste. I would highly recommend this dish!
We were seated immediately for a late Monday dinner. We ordered the spicy rose rice cakes and bulgogi. The banchan was served right away after we ordered which was great. Service was good all around from start to finish. Highly recommend when you’re in the area!
Their spicy braised beef short ribs are the best! Ban chan was good. This is a good place for late dinner. We went on a weekend so it was a bit busy. It was worth the wait though.
Our food came out fast after ordering. We ordered the soy garlic boneless chicken and I was drooling. The picture doesnt do it justice but it’s really good. We also got rose teokbokki and the teokbokki was the perfect chewiness. Would recommend coming here!
We enjoy our time here, food is very good! We ordered the beef short rib soup and the sausage soup, both are delicious and portions are big! Will definitely come again
I've been coming here for a long time. Lately food quality is improving and we love 족발 dish. So delicious!
My friends introduced me to this place, and yes their recommendation is amazing! Food is priced right, service is good, environment is good for gathering and chatting with good music. We ordered fried chicken and bulgogi soup. The portion for fried chicken is huge! And the bulgogi soup is so delicious and warms us up. We strongly recommend the bulgogi soup, it comes with a mix of delicious vegetables and rice cakes, glass noodles, and brisket meat. Our favorite and we will come back!
i just finished eating and i’m already thinking about when i can return to have this beef bone soup again. the soup was soooooo delicious and buttery, easily some of the best i’ve had. i got the rice pot with brisket and it came with a side of soup, so next time i am absolutely coming back for a full bowl of seolleongtang. we also got the acorn cold noodles (yummy) and the fried kimchi mandu (SO FRESH AND CRISPY!) and they’re were no misses on the table. the staff were very friendly and helpful, and everything came out quick and fresh. the vibes both inside and in the outdoor plaza are very LA k-town coded, which just adds to the experience. i will absolutely be back!
First of all, the kimchi and radish are full of flavor but not too salty, very tasty. We ordered ox tail soup with brisket, the soup is rich and tasty. The garlic pork belly wrap(bossam) is also very good, the best I’ve ever had! The portion is generous. Will definitely come back!
I had a nice dining experience here. Had the spicy beef soft tofu soup, garlic pork belly wraps and a few sojus. 👍 The food portions were larger than expected. 👍 The prices were reasonable. 👍 Wide variety of dishes in their menu that are harder to find at other Korean restaurants. 👍 Service was exceptional given it was a full house.
You know you’re in the right place as soon as you notice that the utensils and dishes are toxin-free metals, good for you, good for the environment! Then come the appetizers, including rice (which would have been enough for my solo weekday lunch outing). They are gracious when it comes to portions, so a group outing is best suited for this experience. I ordered the Spicy Beef Short Rib Soup, perfect for a cold day. It arrived in a large metal bowl, and the soup is beautiful with its vibrant red color. I’m no expert in Korean food, but whether you call it Korean or simply good food, it’s excellent from the colors to the taste in your mouth. It’s just perfect. Well worth the $25 lunch with two large ribs floating in the soup. Surely a must-try place!
Popular Korean food. They are known for the blood sausage. We came on a Monday at the opening time 4:30. No wait. We had both hot soup and cold noodles. All great. They also seals the to g o containers so no leak. I thought that is very thoughtful touch. Small parking g lot, but lots of street parking.
This place is fantastic! I got their Galbi Jim’s with cheese added on top and also their pink rose noodles. I loved the texture of their rose noodles and it had such a great flavor. The Galbi Jim was big enough for 4 people and was delicious. Such a great place to eat at and they have parking available.
One of my favorite eats in the bay , it never disappoints. The food is always incredibly flavorful, fresh, and consistently delicious. The portions are great for the price. I have eaten here around 5 times and i must always get a different soup to try. The staff is very attentive. Sometimes the wait can be long on a weekend or with a bigger party. The literal only downside to this establishment is the parking lot gets full and has an awkward exit/entrance. Highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic, consistently great Korean food in Oakland!
This was my first time here the and I was looking for soup and Bossam. The Seol Leong Tang was good and tasty and the Bossam with Garlic was a huge portion, but the garlic was a bit overkill for me. The garlic tasted very mild in flavor and slightly sweet. Nor what I was expecting, so I should have ordered the regular Bossam. It was a good experience overall.
Meh. First, I wouldn’t trust all the 5-star reviews here because they advertise $5 off drinks for positive Google reviews. So take them with a grain of salt. The food here is just ok. Not bad by any means, but at least our two dishes were uninspiring. The side dishes were fairly good, but limited. Service was also meh. We never got silverware, and when we asked if we could get some, the server quickly told us they were located under the table. He could have pulled out the silverware drawer and put them on the table, but he just walked off. So we had to stand up, walk over to the end of the table to get our own napkins and silverware. I’m not expecting fine dining service, but this wasn’t acceptable. Ultimately the food is expensive for what you get and the value isn’t there for me. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to put the price, but I’d caution that you’ll be paying more than you think. So I don’t think I’ll be going back.
This experience was quite disappointing. We ordered many dishes and couldn’t finish everything, so we asked to pack the leftovers. One of the dishes was pig trotters with garlic and green peppers — the garlic and peppers were clearly part of the dish. However, when packing, the staff did not include them. For this dish, I think the garlic is essential to the flavor. I politely asked if they could pack the garlic and peppers, but the staff refused. I don’t understand why such a simple and reasonable request was denied. The attitude was cold and unhelpful, which ruined our dining experience.
