Self service. Clean. So many varieties. So good yesterday went back again today with my sister.
Is the Best buffet so far , very good good is amazing.
During Covid they rashly (my opinion) instituted a ' no tipping' policy which is STILL IN PLACE which I believe is wrong they deserve their tips

Haven't been on this side of town for a while, sure glad I've got the little helpers with me. It was my pal Kridmore Skidaddleback that told me about the NYC Buffet, he said make sure you get the Roast Turkey and stuffing because it's just like grandma made. With a recommendation like that, I had to get it. It was spectacular! Better than expected. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
Visited this restaurant yesterday on the advice of my son. We liked the abundance of seafood, meat. Very weighty. With such a large number of visitors, it is not surprising that they do not have time to clean everything to perfect cleanliness. Everything is delicious! Success and prosperity Greetings from long-suffering Ukraine!
I like to go there every so often because they have some good sushi and sashimi there. Plus sometimes they have crab which is my favorite. I like the owner. He's a really great guy and I always have a good experience there
We went on. Friday around 5:00 before dinner rush. The main course food was great especially seafood . However, the whole salad section was only chunks of lettuce and cucumbers. No variety of desserts and they were out of two of them while we were there. The 6 tubs of ice cream were empty. When I told the receptionist, she didn’t seem to care or there wan’t much she could do about it.
Adequate buffet, good value for seafood lovers. When you enter, you'll be greeted and you'll pay $27 per person. The seating forms a U-shape around the food area. I decided to sit in a booth, but there were tables and chairs available too. They seemed reasonably clean and I spotted an employee wiping tables. There isn't a vast selection of food, but there is a variety. The fries were too salty and not crispy, the Jell-O was a bit chewy like there wasn't enough water used, the chow mein and fried rice were decent, the ice cream had to be scooped with the tiniest scoops I've ever seen and didn't have the flavors labeled, and the beef (?), lumpia, and fried chicken were really chewy. The pizza wasn't good, but was edible. The items I enjoyed were rice pudding, California roll, a green ice cream, and fried plantains. The ice cream didn't taste like any flavor, but it was good. Surprisingly, the California rolls tasted like they were made with real crab. Speaking of seafood, they have plenty of it. I don't like seafood, but I know it's sort of expensive, so I'd recommend coming here if you want to fill yourself up on it. I'd avoid the sashimi though. Other reviewers have said that the food is cold. During my visit, the cooked foods weren't piping hot, but I could feel through the plate that they were warm and they cooled down a bit after I had walked around the food area. The restroom didn't smell bad, but it had graffiti and some of the partitions were rusting. At least there was hot running water. Most of the customers seemed to be families. At $27/person, this restaurant is an affordable place for groups to fill up on foods that are barely a step up from the Burger King across the street. I don't expect much from buffet restaurants. This restaurant isn't great, but it's not horrible, which is why I'm rating it three stars. I don't plan on visiting this place again, but I wouldn't dread coming here.
Place was gross , nothing and I mean NOTHING was fresh , they have sushi which I would expect for 30$ bucks a person, the avocado was brown for many of the sushi options and the salmon was sooooo dry. I don’t normally post reviews but on a Friday at 6pm and for 30$ I was expecting something at least decent, this place was not that. I’m honestly a little worried I might get sick because of how much everything I ate didn’t taste that great or fresh. Disappointed because I’ve been to buffets cheaper by a couple dollars less and always fresh food available. Yea worst buffet I been to.
Visited about 7pm with a total of 3 people. Restaurant was a little bit slow not crowded maybe 30% full. Went to wash my hands only to find the bathroom absolutely filthy with standing water in a bucket under the sink, dripping, leaking urinals and yeah on the floor, not a good start. Grabbed a plate of food, everything looked like it had been picked over and there were many items that had very little left. Most of the items tasted the same with a heavy oily overtone. The deep fried fish was safe and although a bit dry, one of the best items I tried. On a scale of one to ten I'd rate it a 4, maybe 4.5. one of the employees was dumping soy sauce into a bucket in front of us and then refilling them, presumably after he washed them, however the bucket of soy sauce sat there in the open with flies and guests walking by anyone of which could have contaminated it. The carpets had that matted down sticky feel as you walked across them. If your desperate this place might work however for nearly$60 for three, I'd head to a traditional Chinese restaurant, have them come 4to5 selections for your fresh and share them for the same or less money. China Town in Oakland has some ahhhmazzzzzing Chinese restaurants.
The DISHES ARE NOT CLEAN THERE WERE GREASE ON ALL THE PLATES ..This buffet gave me food poisoning. Barely ate one plate felt sick after I ate some of the food. I Went home threw up the food . its was very bad! The fried food were VERY GREASY. No quality. Some foods are old or has been sitting there for hours!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE. Save your money . WORST BUFFET I EVER EXPERIENCED.
Whao this was such a disappointment this place is FREAKING TERRIBLE!!!!!!! Iam planning to take my son out on he's birthday on the weekend because he's birthday is actually today but nobody do much on a Tuesday so I told my son until the weekend would you like to go have dinner at our local buffet, he said yes so we did. Upon arrival the receptionist/cashier couldn't understand me he's English was terrible ( no offense I'm not like that) but honestly I couldn't understand a single word. I ask him politely if they offer a birthday discount he only said 'i don't know I don't know same same 28.00 dollas" so I said " huh huh 28.00 dollars Each so no discount I mean is okay I was just wondering " after that he said so I pay my total was 58.00 I said okay thank you . So after we go sit down we didn't like the section we first sat because it was crowded all boots so we move to the other section then he tells me "no no you sit there aw you sit here' I said "yes please too much people no privacy please and thank you " " he said "0hh okay" then after me my son are eating everything was getting cool until I got up to go get just a couple more bits that I didn't try in the first round lol 😆 because it was not looking fresh 😂 I ask him one single question because he was idk cleaning or stocking the buffet I ask him how much for a pound to go he kept saying I take how I weight machine you take salmon 13.99 you take rice or chowmein 5.99 I was like I can mix right and he said you get plate to go weight over there as he point to the machine. Basically he couldn't understand what I meant to said or explain how to go work basically to confused the Heck out of me I said never mind he said kept saying you weight you weight I only told him it's okay no worries forget he said afterwards aww okay okay ..well you just to hear him to basically understand my story and HONESTLY I'm not criticizing him or anything or fronting about how he speaks there is a lot I couldn't understand so forgive I cannot give this plane any proper rating because my experience was awful sorry hope owner could just do some little changes
Atmosphere: Past its heyday and limping along. Service: waisted food will be charged by weight as to go food. I didn’t want to finish my food. Food: bland Sushi, slimy egg rolls, bland everything, fruit was on the edge of over ripe or tart / solid not ripe enough, and I really wish I didn’t want to write this. I am classified by my friends and family as a human garbage disposal. I eat my food and finish their food. This is the first time in my 38 years that I have not wanted to eat my food. I suppose you get what you pay for but it’s food for goodness sake. How can you screw up fruit?
Not as it used to be. Completely garbage now unfortunately. Use to be the spot, now they straight garbage. Today we happened to get spoiled food, when asking for a refund or atleast some type of reimbursement they seemed to get upset. They're own employees mentioned that they get ignored and insulted when a complaint is brought to their attention. As our server mentioned today, she got told by the chef to tell us that we didnt know about food. For $30 per person i would expect way better. Should have tooken the first sign with all the vomit in the parking lot. They make fresh batches of food everyday. Yea most definitely with spoiled products though. Cross contamination at its finest as well, idk how this place is not shut down. Disgusting DONT COME OR BRING YOUR FAMILY HERE. Save your guts and o rings and just cross the streets to tacos el gordo. NYC IS NOT THE PLACE!
Worst experience, the food served was expired, and when I told the staff they told me to tell the kitchen staff because they dont belive the bustboys. Told the cashier, she got mad at me and asked why I didnt tell her about it, when I hald told a different staff, we (part of 4) didnt even get to finish a plate of food. I just wanted maybe 1/2 off? Didnt get to enjoy our meal. WORST WAY TO LOSE $$$
Me and my daughter in the house of six were the only ones that got sick were the only ones that went to this restaurant and we were horribly sick. We are going on two weeks of being sick, diarrhea, vomiting, the cashier that walked us in had the biggest attitude and then he overcharged us after we told them what my daughter‘s age was horrible service horrible food that got sick. They were OK at first not no more. I do not recommend make food at home.
Food is alright. Some of it is really good, like the coconut shrimp and the stuffed shrimps, but some is visibly old, like the fruit. The pineapple was green and the papaya (which did not look like papaya) was rotten. The strawberries were rotten and the cherries were mushy. We tried the general chicken and there was an old piece that tasted sour and rotten. The service was commendable. The bathroom was dirty due to some vomit and the staff responded quickly in cleaning after they were alerted to the situation. Overall, there are better buffets, but the staff was friendly and helpful.
In case you haven't been there before: here is a summary of my experience with NYC buffet (10/22/2022). This restaurant looks to be short of staff. Employee attitude was ok, not bad. 1. Location- ghetto area, graffiti and trash everywhere around the neighborhood. 2. Parking- park in rear, number of spaces is limited. 3. Restaurant entrance- at corner by the traffic light 4. Pay as you enter- we (2 children 4 and 6 years, 3 teens, and 2 adults=155$ for lunch @ 2:15pm on Saturday). 5. Sit at any table you choose. 6. Cleanliness- no, this is the messiest and dirtiest buffet restaurant I have ever dine-in in California. Old fries, food crumbs, napkins, straw or chop stick wrapper were on the floor, under tables. Tables were not wiped off nor cleaned after customers leave for the next ones. Food counter tops don't seem to be cleaned either. The men restroom is dirty too, one of the two toilets was out of order. 7. Food- selection is very limited, many trays were empty. No sauce for sushi, only wasabi and ginger. The taste of food is alright, I'll say it's average. 8. Drinks- self serve soda fountains. 3 of the fountains were out of order at the time. 9. Recommendation- no. If you are a cleanliness person or want to feel safer, this place is not for you. I wouldn't dine here again.
