Pressed Oakland Reviews
only Cleanse here in the East Bay that i really like!!
My favorite thing here is the Freeze. Non dairy, naturally sweetened, gluten free, guilt free deliciousness!!!!!
Gandari was amazing! She made such beautiful bowls and was really friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back, the açaí bowls were delicious!
Amazing. Incredibly fresh. Very reasonably px for quality and portion (and compared to nyc equivalents). Going back soon!!!! Thank you!!
The sweet cream frozen yogurt with both the drizzles is my favorite. Staff is always so helpful and lets you sample flavors and take your time. Super quick also
If you're serious about your health, there's no substitute for juicing. The only problem with juicing at home is expensive and messy. Pressed juicery is an absolute godsend. I've tried other companies and they were always more expensive and lower quality. The membership is more than worth it!
I love this place , the first two employees was awesome , the next two was just as nice and had my order ready already , the first time I went in the ladies explain things well . I actually started going to improve my health , my sugar levels and blood levels and the weight drop has been great as well ! Great atmosphere
I honestly forgot how good this spot is for dinner. Known more for their sandwiches for lunch. Next to their big brother Wood Tavern, this a more causal dining experience. Quality is just as good. We got the tuna salsa, a pasta dish and sea bass entree. Everything was exceptional. Service and wine were as great.
its a really nice little place in a cool area. we got 4 things. 1) Breakfast burrito 2) Chicken sandwich 3) Bacon Sandwich 4) meatball sub Get the meatballs if you go here. They were the best thing we got, and it wasn't even close. The burrito and potatoes were under seasoned, but they have salt on the table so you can adjust it yourself. Both sandwiches were pretty good. The staff was great, parking is pretty easy which was a surprise.
Great food and friendly service make this our go to for Sunday brunch! Javi crushes the whole delicious menu. It’s so hard to choose. Best hash in town. Breakfast burrito is hard to beat. Sweet corn and chile oil soup was outstanding last week. I’ve been getting the shrimp poboy of late but If his enchiladas are on the menu, grab’em!
Wow! I went in with high expectations after reading a few reviews and I was not disappointed. I went in specifically for the breakfast burrito and I was extra hungry. My first bite of burrito was all tortilla and for a split second I though “oh no”. But my next bite was like an explosion of savory delish. Most of the breakfast burritos I have had are a little on the plain side when it comes to flavor, but this burrito was like 💥💥💥. The pasilla peppers give it a nice heat and the sausage is delicious. Add the creamy avocado and egg and my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Go try it. You might see me there waiting for a breakfast burrito. Or maybe I will try the rest of their menu. The staff is friendly and the establishment is clean and colorful. Due to it’s location on College Ave. parking can be difficult to find, but it is definitely worth it.
Where should I start!!! From now on Southie will be my to-go place for breakfast… 1) Super reasonable price for exquisite food 👍 2) Their homemade pear jelly will blown away your palate 🤤 3) I loved the experience of sitting on the bar and watch the chef cooking all different plates. He is super talented!
We have been coming here a number of years. It’s been our fall back option when the bar is full next door at the Wood Tavern (same ownership). It is best described as upscale fast casual dining in a small intimate space where the noise level can be elevated at times. Menu changes frequently and is inventive. A bright spot in Rockridge for dining.
Located in Rockridge/North Oakland📍, this neighborhood gem 💎 won't disappoint. It is also the little sister of Wood Tavern, which is located next door. Before we get to the menu and the food, I need to mention how stylish this place is. Great spot for a mid-day lunch by yourself, with a date, or for a quick business meeting with a nice selection of beers on tap 🍺🍺 + a couple of wine options🍷🍷. You can sit at the bar, which gives you a high end diner "experience" w/o the price, the wall area is perfect for a solo lunch, or at the bar to ceiling window which opens directly to the street. Sitting at the bar watching the orders being cooked reminded me of #WaffleHouse (those who know about WF will understand this next point), if WF had an A rating and ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a high casual vibe, Southie would be it. Now to the food. You can rework anything on the menu to make it into your own remix or even make any of the sandwiches into salads. Either way if it's on the menu they'll make it your way. We got the Turkey panini and the fried chicken + romaine salad. Wow and and amazing can't even capture how good the food is here. The salad I got wasn't the salad I had pictured in my mind (pre-order), but I was more than satisfied with the flavor of the salad that arrived. The fried chicken was amazing, almost reminded me of catfish nuggets. The turkey panini was really good and comes on Acme bread, which I here is another Oakland must-have. Overall would highly recommend checking this place out. You won't be disappointed.
Coffee: I stopped by for a relaxing morning coffee in an uncrowded store, drinking from a real cup Very civilised and preferable to sitting out on the street.
Always had a great meal here. Visited there three times and enjoyed every moment.
Delicious sandwiches made with fresh ingredients! Enjoyed the grilled asparagus & burrata as well as the meatball sandwich. The bread was fantastic!
Literally cannot express just how great these guys are. The service is amazing. The food is fabulous!! Work in the neighborhood, and come up on our lunch break on a semi-regular basis. It’s one of the only places that we can count on for amazing FAST service. So so glad this place is still thriving!!!
Fresh pressed wealth in a bottle.. 3 shots & 3 juices for $20... You can't go wrong!
Ray was very helpful and the juice is delicious
Great Avocado smoothies
Epitome of small restaurant excellence. We had the B.L.A.T. and steak and taleggio. Both were delicious. We're now going to make Southie our new first meal when visiting Oakland
The mussels and fried chicken were delicious! Wine selection is amazing. Cute date spot!
If you're a breakfast burrito fan, Southie serves one of the best I've ever had—anywhere. I've eaten great burritos across the Bay and in L.A., and this one easily ranks at the top. It's perfectly constructed: ripe avocado, fluffy scrambled eggs, cheese, chorizo, and an onion-pasilla pepper relish, all wrapped in a warm, soft tortilla. The flavors are bold and balanced, and it’s finished with a smoky chipotle aioli that adds just the right amount of kick. One of the things I love most is that it doesn’t include potatoes—just pure flavor, no filler. I keep coming back for this burrito, and it never misses. If you're anywhere near College Ave, it’s more than worth the stop.
I enjoyed the Grilled Chicken & Romaine Lettuce Salad. It was quite large, and it filled me up for lunch. Service was great. A good lunch spot in Rockridge.
Fresh and tasty ingredients, I would give them five stars but they're often out of acai.
It's good but their "smoothies" are almost as watery as juice.
The selection and quality is very good of the juices and the bowls that they have for the most part the staff has been very nice only ran into one and friendly person
This is definitely the only location I go to. I've been to others and its interesting that the juices taste different. I've gone to walnut creek, las vegas and the flavors are off compared to this one. I did receive one bad protein drink out of the 10 I purchased.
Solid spot. Meatball sub was good, but should come with warning as to how hot it is. Burned the top of my mouth.
The food was pretty tasty (Meatball sandwich and Ahi Tuna Sandwich). About $25 for two people to eat, before tax and tip. Fair price overall. The venue is pretty small, so don't be surprised if there's no space. Nothing special about the service (nothing good or bad in particular).
Smoothie is actually just juice… still pretty good though
It's a casual small local cafe with limited seating around the cafe and bar. Has good sandwiches but breakfast items are very limited despite it's brunch vibe! This is just based on our experience: Cafe latte was cold, we literally saw when made and took like 5 min to pick up and deliver. This just made the service very slow. Chau's are very uncomfortable more of high bar stool type to just accommodate small area and perhaps made customers leave ASAP! Again, fair under more of a bar type cafe! Food was just OK nothing to highlight but sandwiches looked delicious. Not sure if try this place again though. No kids friendly.
We usually love Southie but the last few times we've picked up our order the main hostess has been especially rude as soon as we walk in the door. On a street busy with restaurants, we will be taking our business elsewhere.
Pressed is like the new Jamba Juice. On the outside it seems like you are making a healthy decision by getting some fruits and veggies but in reality you are eating dessert. I got their açai bowl and it tasted incredibly sweet. I checked online to look at the ingredients and realized that a bowl has around 50 grams of sugar with 50% of that being added sugar. This is more than in a cup of ice cream and about as much as you get in a can of coke. They serve their dragon fruit and açai puree out of a soft serve machine so that should have clued me in that this may not be the best thing to get.
I usually only get the juices here, sometimes shots. But lately the juice and milks seem watered down. Fix it for 5 stars.
An employee opens a refrigerator door and hands you a bottle of juice and then you pay $8 for it. The smoothies aren’t smoothies, they are bottles of juice that cost $8. Maybe this is how the rich people of Claremont enjoy spending their money, but I do not.
Hours posted say it opens at 7, got there around 7:45 this morning and all still locked up.
I had an unpleasant experience with one of the women working there. She was very disrespectful, lacked basic manners, and made the whole interaction uncomfortable. It seemed like she didn’t want to be there and made it obvious through her attitude—side-eyeing and acting like she didn’t care. Definitely not the kind of service I expected. She was working there around 6pm on Monday.
the acai bowls are wholly unsatisfying and wildly overpriced. There are plenty of local acai shops that provide decent portions.
Ugh thats possibly the worst Acai bowl I’ve ever had. And i didnt think that was possible
Terrible breakfast burritos where they cheat you on eggs, chorizo, but which contain so many poblano peppers and onions that they take over the flavor profile of the burrito. So wet from the veggies that there was a pool of liquid by the time I finished the burrito at the bottom of my plate. The burrito could be so much better, but they quite literally, water it down. Very nice gentleman at the counter. I'm surprised you guys are recommended so favorably on the internet for your burritos.
