Everything's great!
The place is nice, pleasant, and family-friendly, and the staff is friendly and attentive. However, regarding the food, we ordered several dishes, and none of them pleased us. I mentioned to the waiter that I don't eat spicy food, and although he was kind and offered suggestions, which I appreciate, my grilled shrimp were too spicy for my taste. The roe tostada had no flavor other than the chili. The portions were very large for what they served; in my opinion, they should either serve more or use smaller plates because they looked empty. The shrimp Spanish style was also very few and very small, and the plate was very large. (They were good, though.) The arrachera fajitas weren't fajitas; they were chopped, but they were good, just needed a little more cooking. The horchata was too sweet; even with ice, it didn't reduce the sweetness.
I think this is the best seafood I've had in a long time. I travel to Mazatlán often for work, and the seafood they prepare here is on another level. In fact, I'll only go to Ocotlán to eat here again.
It's just been renovated, the atmosphere is pleasant, and the food is very good value for money. The desserts are also good.
Food is great. The sarandeado fish tasted great. swordfish tostada's are great as well. Service could improve a little.
Excellent food, with very affordable prices. Lately, the service seems to have become a little slow but acceptable. We have been going occasionally to this place from Arandas, Jalisco, for over 10 years and their zarandeado shrimp and fish continue to be their specialty, although lately their quality has dropped. I think they can improve, but it is still recommended.
I've been here before it was super busy no tables but one was taken care of for us they didn't wipe it down just a tablecloth was added on top cleaned with the menu lol never seen that before
The seasoning is very good, the sarandeado is special, but the service leaves much to be desired. It doesn't take long for them to offer you something to drink and the menu, but it takes a while for them to start bringing you what you ordered, not to mention the food, even though there were no people there at the time except for our table. Recommended occasionally. Nothing special.
Great place for a tapas style experience!
La comida y el lugar muy lindo y rico, pero el servicio inicia hasta a la 1 pm, por eso mi calificación de 3 estrellas.
It's a nice place, but the service is terrible. They're understaffed and need to be more attentive, especially those in charge. It's also expensive and the portions are tiny. I definitely wouldn't be back.
Sunday 3pm, the place was packed and there were only 3 waitresses working, so the service was slow and bad. The horchata was super diluted (without sugar) and the portion of shrimp was very small. The roe tostadas were good.
Good place but nothing special, the best thing there are the marlin tacos or at least that's what we go for, the service was very bad, you had to keep asking about the dishes you ordered, napkins etc etc. It may be better than it was for me, but at least my first impression is that it has a lot of things to improve, in general I would say the place is just good.
The service was very poor, they took a long time to bring us the dishes we ordered. They brought me a breaded fish fillet that was still raw. When we asked for an explanation of the delay, the rude waitress told us that they had already brought them and unfortunately several of my companions went without eating.
Terrible place and terrible service. There were about 10 of us, and they didn't bring everyone's food. Because of the time constraints (since it had taken them over an hour to bring everyone else's food), we had to leave, and four people at our table went without eating. One of the waitresses was very rude and said it wasn't her problem when we questioned her about the missing dishes. The kitchen staff said they had already delivered those orders and that it was the waiters' fault. No one took responsibility for the situation. They didn't even apologize. I don't recommend it.
They took a while to bring us the menu. They only brought one plate with a sliced cucumber and chamoy for the five of us. They took a while to bring what we ordered. It only came to four 2-inch shrimp, two tablespoons of tomato sauce, two tablespoons of onion sauce, and three 1-centimeter-thick slices of avocado. The broth was bland. The rice tasted like instant rice from a packet. The so-called fish didn't taste good and was also slightly burnt. If you go to San Juan de los Lagos, avoid eating at Carnitas El Alteño at all costs. Besides being bad, it's expensive.
TERRIBLE SERVICE, DON'T GO!!! Awful experience: There were empty tables and they still made us wait almost 20 minutes "while they were moving the tables together." After finally getting a seat, we waited another 10 minutes for them to take our order. After they took it, we had to wait an hour to be served, but BEWARE: They served the dishes with a 10-minute wait between each one (there were 10 of us). They never served 3 dishes, so after 2 hours we had to cancel them, and when we asked to cancel, the staff was angry and rude. They served 3 other tables that arrived after us first, and we had to ask for napkins, dressings, sauces, cutlery, everything!! TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! ONE OF THE WORST PLACES I'VE EVER BEEN TO!
They tell you the price per kilo of fish and serve you less than half, but they still charge you per kilo... there are many places towards Jamay with better prices and excellent food...
