Marina Cafe Ojai Reviews
First time and what a great spot with an amazing view. The food was good, service very nice and we enjoyed a nice walk after breakfast.
Best spot to grab breakfast or lunch and sit by the lake for the amazing view. If you are at the park just for food you can ask for a Cafe parking pass for free. Sometimes we even get to see the Eagle up in his tree.
Marina Cafe is a conveniently located on site at Lake Casitas. One of many amenities for your camping getaway. Mom and Pap atmosphere with indoors and outdoor seating overlooking the lake. I enjoyed a delicious tuna melt and fries.
This is one of my favorite places to go to. The outside seating is ideal because it overlooks the lake. I enjoy getting my regular, chicken fried steak with hashbrowns and sourdough toast with a coffee. It's always consistent and satisfying. The gravy is incredibly delicious. The staff is very kind. It's always a pleasure when speaking with them. Something I adore when going here is the little bird that swoops down when you are near the end of your meal, waiting for some of your breakfast leftovers.
Lake Casitas Marina Cafe in Ojai is a hidden gem that combines scenic beauty with a delightful dining experience. The café's lakeside location offers breathtaking views, creating a serene backdrop for a relaxing meal. One standout feature is the complimentary two-hour entry into Lake Casitas Recreation State Park when you request access to the cafe at the entry gate. This not only adds value to your visit but also allows you to enjoy the natural beauty of the park before or after your cafe experience. The Marina Cafe itself is a charming spot, offering a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. From breakfast delights to hearty lunches, the culinary offerings are both flavorful and satisfying. The attentive staff enhances the overall dining experience, ensuring that customers feel welcomed and well taken care of. It's important to note that the Marina Cafe closes at 2:00 PM, making it an ideal spot for breakfast or an early lunch. This limited timeframe, however, doesn't detract from the overall positive experience. In essence, Lake Casitas Marina Cafe stands as a destination where culinary delights meet nature's tranquility. Whether you're a local looking for a scenic breakfast spot or a visitor exploring Ojai, the combination of a complimentary park entry and a delightful cafe makes this a must-visit. Highly recommended for those seeking a serene lakeside dining experience.

Great views of the lake everyone is friendly don't even have to leave the campground with that and the small store ..iv had breakfast few times it was good and busy in the morning
Food was delicious and served fresh and hot. Everyone was super nice and friendly.
Relaxed atmosphere right next to the beautiful lake. The quality of the food is great as they have really stepped up their game. try the hashbrowns-crispy outside & perfect inside. also the grilled chicken cheeseburger with fries-soo tasty! we love being at the cafe & experiencing the lake as it is filling back up. also, nice outside seating to enjoy.
Lovely addition to Lake Casitas!! Enjoyed a nice lunch here overlooking the lake with beautiful views of the water, in a peaceful and quaint setting. The staff is delightful, the place is spotless and there are numerous areas to sit and relax. Highly recommend!
I don’t know where to start. The atmosphere is marvellous. The service is super great and the host Matthew is above and beyond in making sure everything is right. The view is breathtaking. One of the best places I’ve been to, hands down!!!
Whenever I'm in Ojai I like to eat here. The lake is steps away from your dining table. Ask for a café pass at the front gate, and you won't have to pay to enter. But only for café don't go sightseeing.
Dang good place, if you're in Casitas lake you must stop here. If you don't, did you even visit the lake? Water high and low at the lake is no problem. View is awesome, especially eating the yummies. You have bears as a theme, really cool. It keeps Charman away, definitely have to keep a look out when eating a delicious burger or some badass breakfast. Heat and cold weather no problem. People are sweet and nice, how can you go wrong. Plus did i mention the view was awesome, as well as the food.

Not bad. Visit was some time ago, but the review slipped through the net. Decent burger, french toast was average, cost was ehh, people were nice and the view was nice.

Beautiful views, sunny day, full lake! Loved the environment and the natural surroundings. However… The food was lackluster. Ordered a veggie burrito and it was mostly rice, expected more vegetables. Also had the BLT but it just looked sad when it came out. I dipped it in ketchup. Ranch dressing was another dollar so I opted out. The mediocre meals were expensive enough. Sorry must be honest and hope it improves because I love this spot. Fries were nice and crispy and warm! Good fries!

I ordered the taquitos and was surprised that for over $13 there weren’t any rice or beans. 6 tiny taquitos that tasted good, but were full of nasty veins. Didn't even seem like full sized corn tortillas cut in half, more likely street taco sized cut in half. What a disappointment.
Food overpriced and mid Food Server rude to specifically one person for no reason The first time we’ve been was perfectly fine but this time was not so good

They don't tell you until you sit there for 10 minutes that there is no menu for the table. you have to read it from board in the corner, then come up and order your own food. (I was one of 2 tables in the whole place. no one was even here.) Then their pay system expects you to put in a tip when you purchase the food when there is no service. Lol so let me get this straight, You want a tip for no service but bringing it to the table. If we must do everything else ourselves, why not have us pick up food from the counter too? The lady at the register was very lazy. I guess she's also the server. She gave me a dirty look when I didn't tip at the register paying for the food before you receive it. How about, like the rest, you supply a check at the end. So we may decide if a tip is worthy. Which of course it was not. And the food... somehow the French toast was burnt on the outside and soggy on the inside. And there biscuits and gravy was dry and almost unable to swallow. Won't be coming back. Save your money and cook your own breakfast at your camp.

I had the most horrible experience there on October 5. The older woman who took my order gave me unwarranted attitude the entire time and then insulted me because she made a mistake and charged me for breakfast when they no longer served breakfast so I had to change my order and rightfully so I wanted the difference in price for having to change to something cheaper. She also charged me for extra gravy even though I didn’t ask for it. When I asked her if she was charging me extra gravy she lied and she wasn’t but the receipt showed that she did. Then she got mad because I wanted my money back for that, and she took it out of the tip jar, which was weird. She insulted me in Spanish so I wouldn’t know what she said. Absolutely disgusting. Then I spoke to the manager and all he offered me was a fake apology. Turns out the rude and disrespectful woman is the wife to the manager Carlos (don’t know the woman’s name as she didn’t have a name tag) so I highly doubt anything will be done about her. I will never eat at this restaurant again unless she is fired or it goes under new management.
We’ve been customers since Nancy & family took this place over. Used to be a great place with good food and service. Well, everything changes and this place has slid downhill. The food is mediocre at best and the employees act like they wanted to be somewhere else. Considering the stiff prices the only thing it has going for it is the view. Add to this the fact that you cannot sit inside if you come within a half hour of closing! They only tell you this after you’ve paid. Needless to say, we and our usual group of eight will not be returning.
