Great place. The older crowd earlier in the evening became the younger crowd as the night went on. Pool tables, Jenga, and outside area in the back.
Have met a lot of people there that I really enjoy talking to. Quite a mix of age, race, and class. That's what makes it so interesting. Cold beer at a reasonable price doesn't hurt either. It is my GO-TO place for watching sporting events.
Always a true treat. Great staff and friendly crowd. Classic mix of regulars, first-timers, college kids and professionals. Professional drinkers that is. Expect very reasonable prices, great pours and a fun atmosphere.
Great place to just hang out. Been coming here for years and the staff is great. Great variety of drinks. They only serve popcorn but it's good popcorn.
Oc native. Best prices on all drinks. Good atmosphere. Chill vibes. Good folks.
Staff was very friendly.. drink prices were AWESOME! Will be back because of the cheap drinks, amazing dive bar atmosphere and the staff!
Straight to the point. Good pours. Nice bar tenders. Good crowd. Can't go wrong besides parking being a pain in the butt, being downtown, but we always manage;)
Love this place. Great people Meredith and Pete are great bar tenders. Mike & Michelle go above and beyond for Dads & Grads weekend
One of the best local bars in Orange all the staff are awesome and the locals make you feel like home too. Has 2 pool tables a lot of big screen tv's for sports and a big smoking patio/ lounge. I have been going there for years always meet new people and bump into somebody I know.
best " Bloody Marys" on mid day Monday after a long weekend. The staff all chilling...people playing pool in adjacent room...nice old school Orange Circle vibe ....its dark..air conditioning on and keeping it very comfortable. Its a locals bar yet all passers by seemed very much welcomed. I was. No celery...however Olives galore spicy....and worth 6 bucks. Bartender was perfect fit for job.
Wow what a great place!! ten star bartender(as well as server!) !!! Friendly patrons !! pool tables off to side and our cue ball disappeared he unlocked the table for us!!! beautiful patio out back to smoke or eat outside , place! After trying 5 diff bars, sports bars , and pool halls in town this is by far the best if you're looking for a relaxing ,not too loud bar w,food food, pool and football this is the place ❤️💜
This place is exactly what I pictured it to be. Googled it while at an Angels game with my girl pal and the place rocks! Cool vibes, great people, excellent service, and perfect atmosphere. Recommend it to anyone looking for a great dive bar in Anaheim.
Love going to Paul's for the last 37 years, but nowadays I only go IF Thomas the Bouncer is not working. He's a jerk.
My college dive bar holds special memories for me. May not be for everyone. Go here only if you like going to dive bars. You can start a conversation with anyone here and that's probably my favorite thing about Paul's: the people, who give it a very addictive kind of energy. Staff is nice, super helpful and all round good people.
I know this bar very well and it is a wonderful bar and should not be categorized as a dive bar which people seem to think is cute. Jennifer, bartender is a truly nice and good person. Patio is fabulous. I don't write reviews but just had to this time as saw some negative and rather rude and untrue reviews so wanted to counter. Meow
The staff was very friendly, and the drink prices were fantastic! I'll definitely be back because of the affordable drinks, the amazing dive bar atmosphere, and the great staff.
Favorite place to play pool. Bartenders are pretty righteous and always moving...security is awesome too. WAT SUCKS IS...5-0 creep outside waiting for 502 victims. My advice....park around the block and walk to ur car away from bar to avoid entrapment n harassment. (No fault of any of the bars in OTO)
Small, but total dive. A bit rough around the edges, but I like the vibes. Split into three rooms, being the main room, lounge, and the pool hall. Tons of cool decorations with lots of Angel's stuff on the walls. Two pool tables and a non-electric dartboard. Good security at the door, with a metal detector and bouncer at the door. IDs are checked with blacklight.
Paul's is not for those who want to be serverd sweetly and expect a wholesome experience. The bartenders are ready for your drink order which they expedite it for you. They're plenty of pool tables for those billiard players. Oh and pets are welcome so watch where your stepping a man's best friend could be sitting on the floor.😎🥃🍻🍺🍹🎱🤟
Amazing service even when it’s super busy! Appreciated the attention when we walked in and they were at full occupancy. We stayed outside until there was room to come in and enjoy a cocktail before a table was available. Wedge salad was good Schnitzel was tasty the steak frites was a big miss way overcooked and had a strange flavor. Service was very good
Came here with some friends after another bar in the area, has 2 pool tables in the back that are barely mentioned as well as darts. Lots of stuff to choose from but we got pitchers. Fun place, cool atmosphere. Worth checking out, was pretty packed when we are there around 10 to 12
Clean establishment with a long history. Two new pool tables and updated decor. They use their space well, have plenty of parking, and the pool table room is well lit. TV’s throughout showing all the sports, shows or programming you could want. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Pauls Cocktails is a beloved dive bar that’s been serving the local community since 1942. Nestled in the historic Orange Circle in the City of Orange, just minutes from Chapman University, this no-frills watering hole is a rite of passage for many. With its laid-back atmosphere and lack of trendy pretense, Pauls offers a refreshing alternative to upscale bars and nightclubs. Whether you’re celebrating the end of finals, catching a Sunday football game, or just looking to unwind after a long week, this spot delivers. The bar attracts a diverse crowd—from college students to longtime locals—making it a prime place for people-watching and casual conversation. The bartenders are known for their friendliness and welcoming smiles, ready to pour a perfectly made cocktail or a cold beer without the fuss. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax and be yourself. If you’re in search of comfort, good drinks, and a genuine local vibe, Pauls Cocktails is your go-to spot. No reservations, no dress code—just walk in, grab a drink, and feel right at home.
Paul's is a fun bar full of locals and Chapman students, if you don't like a younger crowd don't go on Thursday nights. Lots of TVs to watch football or any sport during the year. They have monthly pool tournaments, a smoking patio, and a lounge. They have pretzels and a vending machine. If you are looking for something more then snacks you can have it delivered or walk to any of the many restaurants in the circle and bring it back to the bar to enjoy. The staff is amazing and knows how to pour a great drink. They also have specials on different nights of the week. I recommend if you are looking for a fun time and making new memories.
Love this place absolutely adore the security guards they're great Dave is awesome and so is country Thursday night is college night so it's a little crowded but great bar overall Mike and Michelle are a great people
The awesome bartender working Saturday morning was so good to us. We came to do our fantasy football draft at 9:00 a.m. & she set us up with the TV stations we wanted, the space we needed, and a couple of fantastic Bloody Mary's! Although our group stood us up she was still attentive & engaging. Great service. Ambiance as advertised. 10 out of 10, will definitely go back

Paul's exemplifies what a dive bar is supposed to have, complete with stiff drinks, pool tables, and a jukebox that ranges from Top 40 to underground music. Further, the crowd is pretty varied too; so don't be surprised if you walk in to see some barely-21 college student doing shots with a Vietnam vet. Wish the place was a little cleaner (the stale booze smell is over-powering when you walk in) but if you want to drink for cheap, you're probably not going to find a place that'll give you the same bang-for-your-buck that Paul's has.
Super divey bar minus the food. They've got pool tables in a separate section and a lounge area on the other side. Although, I haven't seen it myself, I'm sure there is a jukebox somewhere in the bar because they will go from rock to hip-hop music suddenly. Bartenders are nice enough and the drinks are cheap but good. Overall a good place to chill and drink.
Great spot to visit with Friends and or Family for drinks on a Friday or Saturday night. Mix drinks range from $12 - 14 bucks which is a good deal especially because the surrounding Bars charge more. If you have not been to Paul's Bar in Orange, I would recommend that you stop by for a few drinks especially if you want to Bar hop at the downtown orange circle.
Pauls Cocktails...the ultimate dive bar! Open at 6 AM closes at 2AM, that should tell you all you need to know! Cold beer, cocktails, pool tables, a jukebox and seasoned local crowd. A must stop for us when we are visiting "The Circle" Where else would you see a Great Dane coming out of the restroom?

Definitely a dive bar! Noticeable restroom smell wafts out the front door as you arrive. Bartenders were slow and inattentive. Back patio was kind of cool, shiny razor wire fence enhances the view.... But what do you expect when you go to a dive bar?!
Small but everyone seem to have a good time. Pool table in back. Bartenders were very attentive and seem to really enjoy the job. Downfall was limited seating
Typical dive. Staff is friendly. Prices are pretty good. Pours are legit. It gets crowded sometimes. Mostly dudes. They could use better music in my opinion. But that's subjective.
Strong drinks and decent prices. Gets really busy on the weekends. Since it's in the circle you get a variety in the crowd but it tends to bring in more guys than girls. Bartenders are friendly.

First time coming here. The staff was pretty nice, even got a free "Paul's shot" for my bday and tickets for free tacos. The only thing that made me feel a bit uncomfortable was that face masks were not enforced while not drinking and the whole time we were there, there were about five fights including one directly in front of us. Not enough bar tenders and lines were really long. It took a long while to get drinks.
Nice cocktails but the staff is rude and sexist. Wouldn't let the ladies room utilize the doorstop for the rest restroom on 90+ ° day/evening on the door!
shitty and not in a good dive way. dozens of cop and sheriff badges above the bar. cheap well drinks.
This place used to be my favorite spot ever since I moved out of California in 2007. Every time I’d come home to visit family I would always make sure to stop here. Their prices have skyrocketed. A double vodka soda is now $15. I had the exact same thing in Newport’s Beach Ball for $9.

Please fire the blonde lady who was working security February 25th, 2023. Not only did she try to kick out our friend who tried to close their tab (and requested this in a Scottish accent because he's effing Scottish) but then was denied so he tried to order another round and then was both denied and kicked out (I was also kicked out when I questioned her about this interaction and so was my boyfriend who hadn't done anything). He wasn't aware that the tab was closed because his girlfriend had signed on our tab. And he had the least amount to drink out of all of us and talking to him outside, I knew he was fine. Plus we had all taken Ubers and Lyfts to Downtown Orange that evening and we only had one drink at Paul's Cocktails. Security guard tried to say that he stumbled and someone reported him as drunk but I don't believe that at all. I know how much he had to drink that evening and truthfully I think it was pure stupidity on their part. Shame on you all and we will never come back here again
This place used to be our favorite bar everytime we come to the festival. Today we were fortunate enough to meet Jen. I originally thought she misunderstood us as she continued to serve other guests (especially since she apologized for not serving us) but after we finally put in our drink order, she had an attitude. She poured less than a shot into my drink bcuz the bottle ran out and she didn't bother to replace and finish making the drink. Not usually an issue but the drink was already overpriced. If it's for charity though, as she explained, I understand. However, the next guy to come up was upset about the prices and she continued with her attitude telling him he was the only one to complain and that he was lucky as the owner was nice enough to drop the prices from $12 to $10. It was at that time that others at the bar jumped in to explain their distaste for the situation. She did apologize for not taking our order sooner but it was clear the drinks were made incorrectly on purpose.
Big boy with the fu Manchu has some fragile masculinity. Had a buddy from the UK who he wouldn’t let in because his ID “wasn’t American” (he was 25). If his education was a third grade level, he should just wear a badge saying it. Very poor bar. My man wants to go on a power trip but if you want to go on a power trip, you should work in West Hollywood or a bar that people care about. Not a random bar in Orange, CA. Pray for this man to get some women!😭😭 I’m hoping for him🤞🏻
Our friend who had drank the least that night got kicked out for no reason. Bouncer didn't notice anything concerning with his behavior. We all left. Wouldn’t recommend
The WORST customer service EVER!!!! Never going back there. Only one person as a bartender and super rude at that. I never write posts like this but this deserved it. The “Security” guard acted as if he was doing me a favor of helping me out... I honestly could not believe the customer service that my self and my friends received. Bartender then proceeded to say that the locals were more important than everyone else there even though we live down the street.LOL NEVER GOING BACK THERE AGAIN. Oh and the bartender name is Jennifer older lady with a terrible attitude.
This bar sucks. I went in from Having been turned down at the district, he said I had a fake id and once I showed him my passport he got all pissed because I was obviously pissed he’d deny both ids. This bartender, super speedy waited for her bouncer to verify my id, we’ll both of them , be verified both, verified he knows the other guy at district that gave me a hard time and says I can drink. As I’m waiting for my modelo the speedy lady then over rides the bouncer and says she doesn’t feel comfortable serving me. All in all it was the weirdest drinking experience in my 32 years on this planet, the district and Paul’s suck.
Don't use ur cards or tap to pay they will double charge you for your drinks. It's cool, place, but like a strip club, pull out money beforehand.
8/5 male bartender would ignore when asking for a round of drinks while continuing to tend to others then asking us “what?” When we asked for drinks. Place was not busy
This place used to be the spot where you could always go in for cheep drinks, yesterday I can confirm they have become like every other bar in the circle. I ordered a round of fireball shots (7) and a couple beers and my bill was close to 200 dollars. After I ordered I asked the bar tender how much exactly each fireball shot was and they said 15 dollars because it's their busiest night of the year. So basically they jacked their prices up because it was the street fair. I will never ever spend money at this establishment again because they wanted to double the prices of a fireball shot and take advantage of their customers. This is why I don't even go out anymore every-time it's 300 dollars because bars are charging an arm and a leg to drink, and I like to buy my friends rounds.
The owner of this business is extremely hostile to customers and to the general public. He berated my wife for pulling into the parking lot when the business had yet to even open. We feared for our safety because he was yelling and driving so recklessly.
