Boo Loo Lounge Orinda Reviews
Delightful surprise located next to the Orinda Theatre. The best part of Boo Loo Lounge is Bri! Every drink is a little masterpiece made with all the love in the Seven Seas! Not sure what to order? Just let Bri know some preferences and she’ll help you navigate the drink menu. I Highly recommend this hidden gem. 🏝️🏴☠️
Tried out this spot for the first time over the weekend. The vibe was very nice and intimate. Drinks were off the chain and the bartenders (Bree and Matt) were amazing! Even gave us recommendations for good food nearby to try. Will definitely come back soon and recommend it for all tikiphiles.
WONDERFUL little Tiki Bar right next to the Orinda Theater. Yes it’s small, but the intimate nature of it adds to the experience, allowing you to focus on and enjoy fun conversations with others. The decor is on point and the cocktails are excellent. The Zombie, Saturn & Lady of Singapore were had and we loved them all. Bonus points for a Painkiller made on request. Wasn’t hungry, so didn’t inquire about any bar snacks. Don’t miss this place and kudos to the awesome staff behind it. 5 stars.
Such a fun little Tiki bar, right next to the Orinda Theater. The bartenders are lovely, the snacks and drinks are delicious, and the vibes are on point. We were told we can take our drinks into the movie theater. We'll have to do that next time!
Made the trek here to Orinda just to check this place out. Polynesian decor is on point and tranports you to a tikified spot. Very knowledgeable bartenders with drink culture and rum knowledge. 10/10 for glassware, too.
An amazing hidden gem of a tiki bar. Maxton really knows his craft and I always leave with the coolest tidbits of cocktail lore. Every drink is the product of a ton of expertise and experience.
Two words to describe this: Hell Yes! Finally an actual, real bar in Orinda. Tragically hip, perhaps more so than us Orindans deserve! Tiki drinks on the menu are all great, but don’t be afraid to ask for your favorite cocktail or an off-menu specialty
Hidden in plain sight is this tiki lounge. Looks inconspicuous outside, but was very lively inside! Tiki drinks and a few bar snacks to order. Awesome stop after a movie at the Orinda Theater.
Fantastic hide away tiki bar in Orinda! Small space with classic drinks and nice poly-pop decor. Kriss is top notch behind the stick and knows his tiki cocktails and rum selections.
The concept is a fantastic little cocktail bar.

This hidden gem is amazing. Brie took great care of me. Real top notch service. The decor is on another level!! Immediately you feel like you're on vacation and you're someone in a tropical environment without a care in the world forgetting where You are ☺️
A reason to go through the tunnel on a weekend evening. Went for a live event/movie at the Orinda Theater and found this place connected to the theater. This tiny place is hitting above it weight class. We started with a Boo Loo for Two, an on the spot hollowed out pineapple drink, that was served faster than expected. All out drinks we delicious and heavy. The staff we encountered was crazy friendly and helpful, directing us the dining options in town as best as sleepy Orinda could provide. And they have an incredible t-shirt they sell, I'll have to wait till my size is available, but I look forward to returning.
Amazing experience. Owned by Orinda Theatres. Very small but cozy, fun and creates good memories.
The drinks here are phenomenal and the Creature From the Black Lagoon theme is awesome. However, the fact that they are only playing exotica lounge music and there are no sports screens only ferment my return here. Found it by accident after having lunch at Europa and so glad we walked in. I've been to tiki bars all over the world and so far the best are in the Bay Area (lucky us). Best mai tai I've ever had thought right here. Wurst I ever had was Duke's in Hawaii, surprisingly. This place is wonderful and so easy to Bart to. I'm so excited that we found it! The bartender, Jay is super friendly and not a snooty "mixologist" type, though he's got definite chops for making delicious, beautiful, and memorable cocktails. Plus, you can take drinks into the theater for a movie, apparently, since several people have come in to do just that.
The Bay Area has another legit tropical drink establishment to join its impressive portfolio. If you are a fan of rum, quality cocktails, and/or theming/decor befitting of an amusement park, add this spot to your list. The Zombie is as good as any I've had at the best bars in the Bay Area. Great Mai Tai and Saturn as well. The menu as of now is fairly limited, but the bartenders were happy to indulge us with an off-menu request (a Jungle Bird, which was also delicious). The staff were friendly and skilled; ownership/management are clearly all-in on doing it the right way. We'll definitely be returning soon and often. It's a small space best suited to small groups; we were a party of five and were fortunate that we didn't need to wait for the only corner of the bar that seemed capable of accommodating that many. I suggest going as a party of 2-3 if possible. No food options. Best parking is in the garage beneath the Orinda movie theater; the bar validates parking which allows up to three hours for free. Or just take BART; it's less than five minutes walk to the Orinda station.
5 stars the whole way through. I helped re-open the trader vic's in emeryville and this place entraps what they were going for. Comfy,(VERY) cozy seating, amazing decor, and an amazing bartender. Do not pass this place up before or after a movie.
Drinks were pretty good. The staff is fantastic. The decor os great. It's very cozy. Only suggestion is the music is a little loud. But really appreciate the music fits the vibe.

Very cute small little spot. Loved my drink and the punk rock vibe
Such a fun and hidden gem in Orinda downtown. Great drinks. Fun vibes

This place has atmosphere and drinks with umbrellas. Fun decorations inside. The creature from the black lagoon, and elements of Disney's tiki room
Hard to give this place only three stars. My wife and I have had such high and low experiences here. First couple of times we had an awesome bartender who was cordial and talkative, great drinks, all in a very cool tiki bar environment. The last two times we’ve been in (tonight) the bartender was as unwelcoming as possible. We ordered at the bar, were the only two people in the bar except for the bartender, and he left the drinks on the bar and just called over to us that they were ready… then quickly went back to his phone. If you want a tip, you need to provide some service.
I think that the chicken tenders came from the theater next door. They were far overcooked and dry, and took way too long. The cocktails are just okay. If you like tiki bars, go to Forbidden Island in Alameda, Trader Vics in Emeryville.
