On our trip to southern Mexico, we spent one night in the beautiful magical town of Orizaba. On Sunday morning, we searched Google Maps for "Specialty Coffee" and saw that Dogo Café was open and very close to the center. What a great success finding this coffee shop! A clean place with top-quality coffee equipment and details that give it a unique touch, plus they had excellent music. Speaking of coffee, I can tell you that the Americano we ordered was delicious, but the Aeropress the barista made us was on another level—a natural Geisha bean that I simply couldn't finish. If you consider yourself a coffee lover and want to try specialty coffee while visiting Orizaba, Veracruz, this is the place you should visit.
The top of the notch of coffee spots in town. Small, cozy place where you can sit and enjoy a coffee made with dedication and care. Open your mouth to taste their small but gear bakery products. If you are into kombucha this is your place.
This café is absolutely lovely. They have a terrace, a covered area, and beautiful decor. I've also seen that they organize workshops. In short, it's an Instagrammable spot. We had already eaten, so we only ordered coffee. I felt they didn't have much variety in the coffee and desserts, although we liked what we ordered. The cookie we tried, however, wasn't our favorite 😅. I think the prices are reasonable for the type of place and what they offer. The restrooms are outside, and although there are only two—one for women and one for men—I think that's not enough considering the size of the place. The staff is friendly, and the wait time, at least in my case, was quick. I would return to this café to try the food on the menu, and I definitely recommend visiting it.
The location is good, near Concordia Park. The problem is finding parking, but there is usually space in the surrounding area. The food was quite salty. My partner and I ordered two focaccias (pesto and egg with bacon), and both were extremely salty, although we really liked the presentation. As for drinks, he ordered an iced americano, which he found to be mild but delicious. It costs $50, which seemed a bit steep for an iced americano. I ordered Oaxacan hot chocolate, and it fell far short; it lacked the chocolate flavor and tasted only of hot milk. The place is nice, intimate, and comfortable. The service is also good, although we had to ask for a lot of things (cutlery, napkins, etc.) and they took a while, but overall the service is good.
A pleasant place where, despite the music, you can have a comfortable conversation. They offer a variety of drinks, both hot and cold, with and without coffee. They also have a tasting menu. A year ago I went and couldn't try the coffee because the machine was broken; today I tried a flat white and frankly, the milk lacked texture—it was like a mini milkshake. I also think the prices are a bit high compared to other coffee shops.
It's quite pretentious; they have an award for best coffee, but it's not an exquisite place, not the kind of place that makes you want to return. NOTE: The service is incredible, but neither the desserts nor the coffee will entice you to come back. Finally, the prices are high for the quality they offer.
The service is very good; the waitresses are very friendly, as is the barista. Their drinks are also very good; the coffee is delicious, and the matcha they sell is the best I've had in the area so far. However, the food and desserts were disappointing. The burger was okay, but I've had better, and for the price, it's not worth it. It's more bread than filling, but the fries it came with were delicious. The croissants are reasonably priced, but like the burger, they're more bread than filling. And the desserts feel like they're lacking something. Overall, all the food I tried was more about presentation than flavor.
This place had been recommended to me, but in my opinion, it fell short in terms of customer service. The waiter was very friendly, the place was pleasant, but the attitude of the person (who I later found out was the owner) was very odd and indifferent. I asked for water for my dog, and they didn't resolve the issue. They'd better change the logo, what an incongruity. No way.
I went expecting a good breakfast, and I ordered a grilled cheese platter which, although visually appealing, was tasteless. The cheese was incredibly salty and inedible. My partner ordered chilaquiles, which tasted overwhelmingly of cinnamon and sweetness. We also ordered orangeades, which tasted of everything but orange. In short, I left disappointed. While the dishes look nice, the flavor is lacking. I hope you take this feedback as constructive criticism and decide to improve the taste. I definitely wouldn't be returning; for me, it was almost $500 down the drain.
Pinche servicio nefasto
There is constant thumping music coming from this place which disturbs everyone. I don’t know why anyone would want to go somewhere where there is such a lack of respect for the neighbourhood
