Pollería Orizaba Reviews
The service and food were good. Street parking.
The food is delicious if you consider it a place for home-cooked food, not a restaurant. Don't expect anything more than good home-cooked food.
The service is generally good. I've been there several times. Occasionally, the waiters are a bit obtrusive but try to serve you. The chicken and consommés are quite delicious. The Americano coffee is very strong, to my taste. I'd never ordered one before, but today it was freezing cold, and fortunately we got a table inside. The bathrooms are clean, and takeout service is also available.
The best plates in town delicious horchata water..
We usually order delivery from their Census branch, but this time we went to eat at this location. The chicken was delivered right away, but the sandwiches we ordered took ages. The problem is that as soon as you open the bathroom door, there's a foul odor that makes your nose sting. The toilet bowl is full of limescale, and well, I won't be graphic, but it's clear that hygiene is the least of their concerns. I won't be returning to this place because of this issue, which I find disgusting because it's not a recent problem; it's been going on for a long time. If that's what I can see as a customer, what must it be like in the kitchen? Another issue was the service. I thought it was terrible. The young man who served us, and who was a large customer, always had a mocking smile, spoke in slurred words, and got annoyed because he wasn't understandable and had to repeat himself. The gentleman must be working double shifts. If he spoke properly, he wouldn't have to keep repeating himself, but oh well, to each their own. Overall, we're definitely not going back.
The food and seasoning are good, you can taste it, but the wait time is ridiculous. An order of just 7 wings took an hour, even though delivery orders were given way too much priority. The horchata was plain, without tortillas, and they didn't sell Coke or Pepsi, only Peñafiel.
Nice chicken spot, several flavours for your roasted chicken, their side dish are not that good. They are always a little bit slow with your order, be patient.
The service is very poor, and they're not very friendly, to say the least. However, there are a variety of chicken flavors and dishes for every craving, from individual packages to family-sized ones. The bad thing about it is that whenever I go, they never have flavored water, only soft drinks. If they don't do it, they should remove it from the menu.
Terrible service, slow, and their supposedly stingy mixed grill for four people was just scraps. It used to be great, but now it's awful in every way!
The first time I bought chicken in macha sauce, the chicken was super dry, the macha sauce was too soupy, acidic, salty, and flavorless. I decided to give them another chance and bought half a chipotle chicken. They served it in cups. The presentation was poor. They didn't give me tortillas, just a sad, stiff bolillo. The chicken wasn't as dry anymore, but the sauce was horrible. It seemed like they just put the chiles in a blender with water and a lot of salt. It was still very acidic and salty.
The service isn't bad; I've eaten there before. However, a few days ago, one of their employees, who seemed to be new, stole a relative's glasses. We complained right there, and they said it wasn't their fault, that their employee would never do that. When we asked to see the security camera footage to verify their claims, they denied us access. They were very aggressive and defended their employee quite fiercely, not to mention the unpleasant behavior of the staff towards us.
Although the food is really good and worth the wait, the service is terrible. They take hours to serve a single dish, and even delivery takes ages. The branch near the Census building is much faster than the one near the Tec, and I live right by Chedraui.
Terrible service, we placed an order by phone and they served us extremely poorly since it took an hour for the chicken to arrive and the guy on the phone yelled at me to keep the craving and that they would never serve me again, not today or ever again!
Terrible service. We went on a Saturday, ordered a combo meal, and sat down. They didn't tell us that the combo meals weren't for eating in. We asked for table service, which was extra, and they refused. The manager, owner, or whoever he is, rudely came to give us our money back and tell us to leave. Don't go... it's not worth it. They take an hour to serve you. The staff is incredibly rude, answering questions and always seeming to be in a bad mood.
They didn't give us plates. It was Saturday, actually, it was already 6 pm, but not that late. My girlfriend and I sat waiting for the menu, but it never came. I got up to order at the register and sat back down. The waiter told me my order was ready, and I saw they were putting it in a to-go container. I said, "No problem, I'll just ask them to put it in here." To my surprise, the cashier told me no, they couldn't give me utensils because those are only for à la carte orders. I told her maybe we were mistaken, but that we could use the dishes. She said, "They're washing everything," and I said, "Okay, fine, take some clean plates," and she gave them to us. She went off angrily to ask the kitchen and they told us no. They said they could sell us Styrofoam containers to eat in. I asked for utensils at least, and they wouldn't give them to me either. It's terrible that they treat customers like that. I don't have a problem eating like that, but I was with my girlfriend. We ordered ribs and crispy tacos. Neither was good, and the mushy rice was awful. If the food had been worth the terrible service, great. But it wasn't.
