I honestly do not know how there are bad reviews for Bayliner Diner with all the options they have and the pricing isn’t bad at all for theme park/hotel food and very reasonable. The ultimate grilled cheese with tomato and bacon is honestly one of the best grilled cheeses I’ve ever had! It was absolutely delicious. I also had breakfast this morning with the bacon, egg, and cheese croissants. Even though the croissant was overcooked it was still delicious and the flavor was good. Free water refill station at the Coca Cola refill. The food is made fresh and there are so many options.

The Bayliner Diner inside Universal's Cabana Bay Resort is great. If you are staying at the resort or just stopping by for dinner, you have a lot of food options and the prices are all under $20 a person. You can choose from burgers, chicken tenders, sandwhiches, pasta dishes, mojo chicken, and even roasted beef strip loin. Every member of the family can eat whatever they are craving. The large TVs that play old 60s commercials in the dinning area are a really neat feature.

This restaurant is located inside the hotel, not far from the lobby. It was a vintage experience for me, but very entertaining indeed. You can choose between several stations and what type of food you want. Once you have gotten your food, you go to the cashiers and pay. The dining room is huge, with old animations on the screens that make your experience entertaining. The decoration is like the rest of the Hotel, based on the 50s. The best breakfast I have had in a long time was in this place. Regarding the staff, some members (not all) were not friendly.

This is such a great option for a sit-down family meal! There are several bays to choose from with plenty of choices for kids and adults alike. Vegan meals available. You can also grab some prepackaged snacks and sandwiches. Fair warning: The side of fries that comes with the burgers is over the top! I suggest if kids are ordering similar meals that one gets fries, the other fruit -- there will be plenty to share! (See pictures.) We also recently ordered a pepperoni pizza. Teens thought it was pretty good but, overall, thought burgers were a better choice.

This 50s-style cafeteria diner food is exactly as advertised. Easy comfort food. Ample seating for your screaming kids. Not too pricey. Big opened area with gigantic TVs playing 1950s toy and nostalgic commercials. Nothing wrong with this place. Only real restaurant-like food option at cabana bay (other than the bars, bowling alley).

My family has eaten meals here several times, as we are here at the resort for a week. We ordered the pizza for pickup (excellent crust and very fresh), as well as chicken tenders and burgers. I particularly enjoyed the food at the international cafe: the combinations tasted much more like home-cooked meals and were truly delicious and appetizing. Ate the beef churrasco with herb sauce, jerk chicken, beef sirloin, pork osso bucco and the seared tuna (spectacular presentation!). The quantities are quite large so after a day or two, our family shared entrees - one for two people. The atmosphere for dining is really relaxing and fun for families, and a great place to come back to after a day out at Universal theme parks. Compliments to the chefs and staff!

The food was okay. The scenes on the jumbo screen were fantastic a retro to the 60's and 70s. The good days. A lot of the old cars. There is a Starbucks there there was no wait for everything was moving smoothly. I would go back next time we head to Orlando.

If I could rate it 100 stars I would. The food is ALWAYS delicious and fresh. I come to cabana bay often and this is one of the reasons I can’t stay away. They have such a wide variety of food that sometimes it’s difficult to choose what to get! I even stayed here for Christmas Day and they had a very delicious holiday meal for a good price. Staff is always friendly too. Cannot say enough good things about it.

Excellent service! The chef came out and personally greeted me and met my allergy needs. They're were very accommodating and friendly. Liliana C, my cashier, was especially kind to me and made my day. Check number: 4048-18

Probably best bang for your buck at Universal resorts. My advice, buy souvenir cup here and have programmed for your total length of stay (different prices based on number of days). We were able to take in too all Universal parks. Most freestyle machines only gave water and ice but at least 1 by one of dockside restaurants between Harry Potter train entrance and Transformers ride would allow a few actual sodas.

My family and I always stay at the Cabana Bay Beach Resort when we come to Universal. The Bayliner Diner has a great variety of food from breakfast to lunch, to dinner....they have something for everyone!! We love eating here.

This may be slightly skewed, but during Hurricane Ian, everyone in the resort was confined to the resort and of course, the resort was madness. But I felt the resort staff, especially the staff in the Bayliner Diner did very well!! They were prepared and handled the hungry mob very well. Bless all of them!!

Huge diner with great nostalgic ambiance. Good food at fairly reasonable prices considering the Orlando location.

We absolutely think this is a great option if you are staying on resort. The refillable cups are a must for the duration of your stay. One thing to add is they could offer some more heather options. If you are staying on resort for a week you will definitely want to look into other food options. Over all though this is a great quick service restaurant.

Meals were great, every night each of the food stations offered daily specials over and above the regular menu options. Plenty of seating in a great atmosphere. Came back for a second year, Meals were great, looked for to the daily specials at each station which changed every evening. The new addition of the Shakes Malr Shoppe is fantastic.

Great diner very convenient hours. Several options for healthy foods, vegan, foods of all kinds. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed my stay with my family and will return next year God willing. Highly recommended

The Bay liner is set to the 50s. It’s your go to eatery at Cabana Bay. They have 4/5 serving stations including the salad bar. The food is always consistent and very good. More then enough seating no matter the size of your party. Most times we prefer to eat here at the hotel versus waiting in line at other restaurants. 12/25/22 Well…. After maybe 60 visits to the Bayliner over the years it happened. I had a bad experience. My wife requested a manager to speak with regarding the matter. The manager identified as Manny was actually the subject that was rude and not very helpful. I must say his customer service skills are terrible. My wife was able to locate another manager that easily rectified the matter with very little ado. In retrospect I think Manny was simply unwilling to bend and dug his heals in deeper. A little common courtesy from Manny would have gone a long way in this situation. After all, he is the manager and customer service is a huge part of any managers job.

I think this is one of the best places for the value anywhere at Universal. I have tried a number of things here and have not been disappointed. This is a food court type restaurant. You get your food from on of 4-5 different stations, pay for it and then bring it out to the seating. Great for a family but it is not fine dining. Starting with breakfast. Breakfast is breakfast. I did not think is anything special and the prices were just ok. Nothing bad nothing great. The coffee is pretty poor however. Want good coffee, go to Starbucks. Lunch and dinner is where this place shines to me and especially the International window. Nothing is extreme and everything is toned down for American tastes so it is very tasty without being spicy/hot. The Last trip I had the Jerk Chicken which is really good. I had the daily carving on a different day which was a pork tenderloin which was also wonderful. The best was the Brazilian Beef Churrasco which was out of this world. Cooked to whatever doneness (medium rare for me) you wanted and served with 2 large sides (I had mashed potatoes w/gravy and Rice). The meat was perfectly cooked and really good. The sides were just what I expected with no complaints. A huge feast for right around $15.00. So a really good value compared to home prices. They also have icees here as well if that is something you like and you can use your length of stay refillable mug for the icees.

very cozy and spacious atmosphere. great food, i recommend the buttermilk pancakes or ham and cheese croissant for breakfast and margherita pizza for lunch. never had dinner from here. the TVs are always playing vintage commercials and they are very comforting to watch. 100% recommend <3

R
Ryan Goode

Food is going to be very average since it’s a food court at a hotel. Think all the food is as expected in that regard. Some pleasant surprises here: - Staff is super friendly. Very helpful people here. - Resort refillable mugs include Icee. - Tons of registers during peak times. Only con is that if your family wants different things, then you either split up or go through multiple lines since the menu is distributed among several different “stations”. Not awful but a bit inconvenient.

L

The Bayliner Diner includes several food stations with a wide selection. They offer deli items, pizzas, burgers, salads, desserts, and more. There is a large open seating area to relax.

Love the cafeteria style. There are so many excellent food choices to choose from, whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner

N
Nick Kuzma

The food here is really good (especially the burgers) and it's so convenient and basically empty if you're able to go during non-peak hours. The seating area is the best part with the retro theming and the giant screens playing old cartoons and commercials. Vibe and food are both great!

M
Mary Galloway

Good selection of food for breakfast, lunch, dinner, some meal prices are quite reasonable, other items are really expensive. Fun 50s-60s retro decor and old commercials playing in the dining area.

I LOVE the food here as I love the resort itself. Just came from here for a long bday weekend and I finally got to enjoy the food here, and it was not disappointing at all. Hub and I both had the Citrus 1/2 Chicken with Jasmine Rice and Curry cauliflower, it was AMAZING. Chicken was So tasty, so juicy and the cauliflower was this really simple great tasting curry flavor and color. Jasmine rice was perfectly cooked and very flavorful! Highly recommend dishes for sure! Kids had the pizza and it was also good, sauce was sweet and cheese was tasty. Could have used a bit more pepperoni though ;) They also offer burgers, sandwiches, and lots of to-go items you can just grab and head to pool or just chill in your room! They offer to-go boxes for your items as well in case you want to take them anywhere else. Can’t wait to return here again!

The food was delicious and very reasonably priced!! I loved the international section that had prime rib and roasted chicken. Very decent portions, too. Everything was fresh and the lines weren’t too bad throughout our stay. We brought our own drinks to avoid paying separate for a beverage.

Delicious food! The fact that’s dairy free gluten free is better. They made my daughter GF chicken & fries, all you have to do is ask. My son’s jerk chicken and curried cauliflower was out standing.

D

This place is such a great amenity for Cabana Bay. There is something for everyone. My wife has a gluten allergy and the chef prepared her a meal to accommodate her dietary needs. WE ate two meals here during our stay. I had churrasco beef and then the super salad. My wife had gluten free pizza and gluten free chicken nuggets. The salad was probably the best salad I have had in a very long time and felt like a great value at under $10. The gluten free chicken nuggets were top notch. Glad to report that my wife had no adverse reactions after eating here. Don't make a special trip here if you are not staying on property, but if you are there take advantage of the options.

We stayed here for a few days and I was very surprised to see all of the gluten free options. The food was delicious, especially the gluten free chocolate chip waffles! Also the half chicken and jasmine rice was amazing for dinner. The cabana bay burger was another favorite. I would like to especially point out how amazing the chef was when I had questions about the gluten free options for my toddler. He was so sweet and kind and even recognized us when we came back the next day. It takes so much stress away when you don't have to worry about your kid getting sick! Thank you Chef!😊

For what it is, this place is great. I originally turned around after seeing the lines but decided to wait anyway because I was starving. I picked my food based on the shortest line. I ordered a cuban sandwich. After receiving the plate, I went to go get a drink and the sandwich slid right off the plate onto the floor. I was stunned not knowing what to do, other than mutter a few choice words to myself. After collecting myself, I told the cashier what happened and asked if I could not pay for it since it fell on the ground. The cashier was understanding, and the other cashier next to him asked what I ordered and went and skipped the line to get it remade for me quickly. I was SO relieved. It was originally a nightmare to me but they took care of me so well and I was able to eat dinner with my family. Sure the prices are high but the convenience and service can't be beat. Thank you Bayliner for recognizing a stressful situation and turning it into a pleasant one. That said, I don't recommend the breakfast here at all. About the same quality or worse than free breakfast at a cheaper hotel. Thankfully I had protein shakes with me.

Located inside of Universal's Cabana Bay Beach Resort, Bayliner Diner is a food court style dining with a wide variety of options, including Vegetarian and Vegan plant-based options. Expect the faux meat options to be the main option here and the Vegan options to be few from what I could tell, especially in the snack and cooler section. I was delighted to see a salad bar though which isn't something typically offered across the themepark properties. Don't miss out on Shakes Malt Shoppe either which just recently opened in the corner and they have a Vegan Oat based shake.

B
Brian Morgan

Located it the lobby of the Cabana Bay Resort, this is an excellent mini food court and grab and go. Lots of food options as well as beverages to include beer and wine. Great place to grab a quick breakfast and coffee before heading out on your park adventure or spend a day at the pools. Lunch items are fantastic as well, I like the Grilled Cheese with bacon or just a bowl of soup.

All day diner at Cabana Bay Resort . We Had breakfast during our stay here and can’t fault the omelettes which were really good ! The side of potatoes was really nice too! The waffle was pre made and only served with whipping cream and strawberries on top. Could have been better if they make fresh always ! Same for pan cakes , they aren’t made to order but already made in bulk . The almond croissants from the pick up bar are made really well! Overall a nice place to grab a quick bite before heading off to the theme parks !

This is the main diner on the resort. There is a good variety of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's a little pricey but similar to what you see at other resorts. The breakfast was very good with good sized portions. Definitely get the refillable souvenir cup. It is worth the price since you can use it for soft drinks, coffee or an Icee.

We did dinner one night. It was okay and to be expected. It was cheaper than what we experienced in the park. We did a pizza, the chicken alfredo, white cheddar mac and cheese side, and the ravioli special in white sauce with blackened chicken. Pizza looked amazing but was blah. Pastas came with a breadstick which was decent. Special was good. Chicken alfredo was okay, chicken and sauce were good, I just wish they tossed the pasta in the sauce instead of just pouring on top. By the time we got our drinks it was like a spaghetti brick which we wound up cutting into pieces and eating. White cheddar mac and cheese was Kraft yellow mac and cheese. Overall decent for a quick meal.

Surprisingly great food. What bothered me is that they said they only serve breakfast until 11:30am. 11:30!?!? Lunch at most places starts around 10-11. That's a super late lunch start time. We were super bummed when we had to order breakfast food for lunch.

R

This is your theme park resort food faire but it's reasonably priced, the food is good, and the atmosphere is charming. I do mean it when I say the food is good, sure there's plenty of menu items that are basic but the chicken tenders, hot dog, and pizza are all tasty. The thing that sets it apart is their international stall, you'll get a really good meal here! Breakfasts here are OK but once again there's standouts like thr Belgian waffle - there's always something that elevates this place on offer. The grab and go items are also well priced for the most part. Will you spend $3 on chips? Yeah. But it's worse elsewhere. A hot tea will run you like $5 or $6 and that's absolutely outrageous even by resort standards. Most things are more reasonable however. The atmosphere is charming, a cafeteria with chairs and booths with retro diner theme with old commercials playing silently in loop on giant screens. Overall while it may on the surface seem to lack some of the elevated stalls of Unviersal Aventura, a similarly priced resort, it offers way more options, is more family friendly, and thr International stall competes with the options I've personally had the Aventura. Staff is cordial but would love friendlier staff across both Disney and Universal resorts.

D

Given the challenges of dealing with guest that do not have any other dining options during a hurricane that did a nice job handling the extra crowds. The food was a little pricy but what do you expect at a theme park resort? And at least they don't tack on a hidden 18% gratuity like some of tne I drive restaurants did!

J
Jonathan Ehlers

My wife and I were satisfied overall. We ate here during Hurricane Ian while all the parks were closed. So considering we were still able to get a hot meal was greatly appreciated. I got the cheese pizza because it was readily available and it was decent. My wife got the spaghetti with meatballs and was also decent. We were just happy and appreciative that we could still eat a hot meal with an at capacity hotel during a hurricane.

Convenient cafeteria in the Cabana Bay hotel we stayed at. They're food is not great, but if you need something quick, it's there. A big con to this place is the hours. It should be open after 11:00 P.M. or even all night with limited food. It'd be nice to grab something small to eat after leaving the park at 11:00 P.M., which is what my husband and I have done the last four days we've been here.

M
Megan Wilcox

While this is by no means an exciting place to eat, it's a great option when you need something quick or have children with you. They are so reasonably priced and we were glad for something simple. The food is decent, although not notable and if you have time go somewhere else. The donuts were oddly amazing, which was unexpected here.

L
Laurie RB

It works like a cafeteria: you get your food and than you go to the cash register to pay. I think the food was really good, although a bit expensive. Employees were nice too. There are a lot of options, but mostly a lot of fast food. Still, if you don't like the food served at the counters, there are other options in the refrigerators, like sushis, more salads, sandwiches, etc. There are also desserts, cereals, a lot of snacks, drinks and sandwiches that you can bring with you in the parks. They sell a refillable water bottle for the drink fountain, but it is a bit expensive in my opinion. Plus, there was a fruit/yogourt bar in the morning and a salad bar for the rest of the day, for healthier options. The frozen yogourt bar was also pretty cool. Overall I really enjoyed the food. The only other negative thing that I would point out is that the food was sometimes not warm enough : maybe it was when they put in into your plate, but before you pay and get to a table, it had sometimes cooled down quite a bit.

F
Fox Tucker

This is the main dining area within the Cabana Bay Resort. It’s not great value for money, and there’s no alternative so they can charge what they like. The food itself is more than acceptable. It essentially 4 mini themed fast food outlets with a combined central checkout area. Very long queues at peak times. Recommend eating during quieter times to avoid long waits for the food and the checkout. Also has fridges and shelves with a good selection of snacks.

S
Sung Yim

Decent cafeteria style food place. International menu options were pretty good portion and tasty. Kids liked the pizza and pasta.

G

If you like a 50's/60's Florida Beach vibe.... this is your place. Wonderful selection of food at breakfast, lunch and especially dinner with nightly specials. Quality in taste can be spotty depending on the cook but overall is good. Plenty of seating as well with huge TV's showing old commercials from the era. Pricing isn't bad as inflation did not hit as hard here. While the aesthetic is showing some age it is still lovely and a local fav.

J
J S

The food selection is varied between hot, cold, packaged, and fruit. The fries are great! There is a special menu for dietary restrictions. The only thing is the price, its outrageous. Maybe try going to the local store and get some groceries to at least have snacks or a meal in your room. A plus is its open early and open late.

R
Rhianna Souder

The food here isn't bad, but it's nothing to write home about. I have given it 4 stars based on convenience. The Bayliner Diner stays open late so that you can have dinner there after the park closes. They offer a cup similar to the Freestyle cup at Universal Studio's, the only draw back is that it only works at Cabana Bay Beach, it doesn't work at the park. They have a deli, an Italian option (pizza, spaghetti, etc.), an international option (stir fry, jerk roasted chicken, etc.) and a burger option (burgers, chicken sandwich, chicken fingers, french fries) for dinner and lunch. These same four places offer different items for breakfast (breakfast sandwiches, waffles & pancakes, yogurt fruit, cereal. Retro commercials play on large screens on each end of the diner.

D

This is your go-to dining location at Cabana Bay, a food court-like setup with pay stations at the exit. Lunch/dinner selections are generally larger and more recommendable than breakfast, though breakfast isn't bad. Desserts and bakery choices are a bit weak. The large seating area is flanked by drink refill stations (the refillable cups can actually be a pretty good value) with over-roasted coffee, hot cocoa, hot water, soda/soft beverage fountains, and Coke Freestyle machines (yes, both -- so you can get soda without the weird taste that Freestyle machines impart to every drink). Microwaves and condiments are also provided. The theming is charming and retro. Large screens play a loop of old clips from television, movies, and advertisements a la Sci-Fi Dine-In at Disney's Hollywood Studios, but the audio is not played. A loop of classic songs is played instead.

My family and I stayed here for a week during Spring Break for a sporting event that was happening nearby. We ate at Bayliner almost every night of our stay and we were never disappointed with our food. Most of it is pretty basic, but done well. My kids and I were HUGE fans of the grilled cheese and the house made chips. I also got a salad from the expansive salad bar many nights. It was extremely busy, but that is to be expected during spring break time at a theme park resort! We just tried to avoid main eating times and it was okay. There is plenty of seating and drink machines for use, and so many different stations with a variety of foods. The perfect value resort food court in my opinion!

This is a quick service, multiple type food area. None of the food was good, from the pizza to the burgers. This is a great example when a company can care less what they serve to the guests. They should be ashamed selling this as food, and then the prices. Wow. We wouldn’t have minded the price if the food was good. We threw most of it away. If you stay at cabana bay, don’t eat there.

M
Mary C

It was okay. The only thing we are here for was their breakfast. We ordered two kids meals but they forgot the strawberries and cream in the waffles the regular kids meal with the eggs, sausage, and biscuit was ok but bland. We also ordered a side of biscuit with sausage gravy which was also very bland. Their biscuits are very dense, gravy needs seasoning, and their eggs need salt. The area does look well organized and has always looked clean as far as I can tell. I would recommend that if you're buying a breakfast sandwich to get it from the malt shop. Their breakfast sandwiches are cheaper and bigger.

D
Daniel Faircloth

Food is alright but portion sizes for me were too big, and some things can be a bit dry like the waffle if you don’t drown it in maple syrup. The atmosphere clearly isn’t targeted towards my era making it all a bit alien for me.

E
Eric Lovelace

Overall experience is that the food is way overpriced for two burges and fries and a kids pizza to come out over 50 dollars. Burgers were bland, fries old. Overall would rather go eat somewhere worth the price

J
Jenina Slicer

The food is mediocre. Very bland. Breakfast was the better of the options. I had the Belgium waffle with strawberries and cream. Very rubbery once cold. The breakfast potatoes were good. Omelet was ok. Pizza and hamburgers are so bland. The bread was so hard I couldn’t finish it. The pasta dishes were undercooked. Steamed it in the microwave in my room. The vanilla milkshake wasn’t too bad. I would suggest the World’s Biggest McDonalds a mile away or grab a bite to eat in Citywalk to bring back to your room.

Food left MUCH to be desired. Extra toppings and condiments NOT listed came with EVERYTHING. Fries were iffy. Burger was WAY overcooked. BUT your workers are the saving grace. Not to mention the insanity markup level on literally everything, and I understand it's a hotel, but 6 dollars for 1 can of monster or redbull. Yall are NUTS

J

Except for the 4 vintage cars parked out front, the interior is more institutional than inspirational. Food service workers followed all protocols and were friendly. Omlete was portion controlled and satisfactory with good flavor. Price was to be expected in Orlando. Average experience

J

It's not fabulous it's not horrible. It's just alright. Milkshakes were good. Wish the options that weren't the normal burger, pizza, Chicken, had been less nasty looking. There is an alright variety of options. Serving sizes were very decent.

The Bayline Diner stands out with its sheer scale and eye-catching retro aesthetic. Walking in, you're immediately hit with a wave of nostalgia thanks to its chrome accents, neon lighting, and enormous screens that dominate the space. The atmosphere is big, bold, and undeniably fun—great for families and groups looking for a cool place to eat. However, the dining experience doesn’t quite live up to the visual promise. The food options are somewhat limited in terms of customization, especially for those with dietary preferences. Service could be more welcoming; during our visit, staff came across as indifferent, and we experienced overcharging for menu items we didn’t request. To make matters worse, pricing isn’t very transparent, which can leave you surprised at the register. One suggestion that could elevate the whole vibe: instead of looping a short, repetitive video, why not play classic retro movies or TV shows on those giant screens? It would tie in perfectly with the theme and make the dining experience even more memorable. In short, the Bayline Diner nails the look but needs to match it with better service, clearer pricing, and a more engaging use of its impressive tech.

The hotel aspires to accessible leisure, a very American innovation. The diner fulfills that promise, with reasonably priced food served to many, cleanly, entertainingly and efficiently. The ambience is cool, and the quick meal was a godsend for my completely wiped children. Unfortunately, the food was very hit or miss. For dinner I had a stirfry that was tasteless and sopping in sauce. For breakfast my kids had pancakes that were premade and crispy instead of soft. In conclusion, the restaurant was fine for sustenance and atmosphere, but the food is disappointing.

Food is descent, atmosphere cool but the layout of the eating area drove me nuts. Ate here a handful of times during our stay. They have loads of items and most are good, we found ourselves repeatedly ordering pizza here and at the Atomic Tonic. The one thing I can’t stand is the way they have the entrance to the actual eating area. It’s hard to get into if you just want to get to the coffee and drink machine. They could have opened it up more. Very annoying

Not terrrible but could be a lot better. Service depended on the day but mostly dealt with non joyful employees. There was different food options for breakfast, lunch/dinner but some seemed fresher than others. The meals were definitely expensive and be sure to be getting all the items of your meal, including kids meals, especially since you’re being charged for it. For instance easily over $50 for a family of 3 for breakfast. The cashiers do not remind you to grab the drink or sides for your kids meals. Breakfast kids meals were plentiful, like the egg portion being abundant. The seating area is usually full but there are tables always available and the staff was on top of cleaning the tables as other people got up to leave. Not a terrible option to have this at the resort but if you’re looking for something more upscale I’d recommend dinning elsewhere.

Ivan at the bayliner diner offered some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. As we approached the register, he did not greet us so I greeted him. He didn’t respond to me, didn’t even look at me. At the end of the transaction I thanked him and again he failed to acknowledge either of us. Luckily this isn’t our first time at bayliner so he isn’t the first impression but the interaction left a bad taste in my mouth.

Okay, has the fish not been fishy and the soda machines worked this would’ve gotten more stars. We really liked that there were choices other than burgers and pizza. The Ahi Tuna was fishy but a nice sized portion. The General Tso’s wasn’t spicy at all. However, the vegan chicken General Tso’s was surprisingly like tender chicken. The tables and chairs had food remnants all over them and it didn’t appear as though there was anyone on any sort of cleaning rounds. Overall, it was an okay option after a day in the parks but we wouldn’t go out of our way for this place again.

Food was very expensive and not great you're better off going to a fast food restaurant like McDonald's or getting Uber Eats.

Bayliner diner has a very cool looking 1960's era vibe and is conveniently located in the Cabana resort next to Volcano Bay. Those 2 attributes are about where the accolades begin and end. This is a cafeteria style place with several different food options. There is usually a line to order your food and then another line to check out. The food is generally pretty lousy and the prices are extreme, as one would expect at an amusement park. I'd recommend eating at any nearby restaurant, of which there are many. But for pure convenience, you may want to choke it down, but bring your wallet!

I’m a little disappointed here. We waiting over an hour in line to get a mediocre burger and fries, then by the time we made it through the second line to pay, our fries were cold. The service was also not great. We bought a bottle of wine, then realized it was corked. We had to go back up to the cashier who handed us a corkscrew, without any explanation or apology, who then turned to continue checking people out. Did they forget to give it to us? Was it ours to keep? Were we supposed to bring our own? I still don’t know. I felt bad complaining because the staff seemed so overworked and understaffed. The do offer a diverse selection of food and have great hours. However, after our first experience, we avoided this place the rest of our visit.

Let me offer just one suggestion: Improve your hash brown potatoes. The day I had them, they were barely edible. I think my impression of the food would have been quite different had the potatoes been at least average.

I am very disappointed about the prices. We were at the dockside hotel a week before. Payed 6$ for a kids breakfast combo, at Bayliner Diner 7,50$ without bacon and potatoes. The yogurt parfait was 4,75$ - Bayliner Diner 7,50$. Sorry I can't understand different prices for same dishes. The Jerk Chicken for dinner was very fine.

Premium prices for miserable food, with the exception of the pizza, which is ok. Smoked salmon bagel was $15 at breakfast and I can’t even get it toasted? Breakfast combo second day took me out of commission completely with food poisoning. You’re better off getting lunch at the pool bars and eating a granola bar for breakfast.

I read on a review that someone compared this food to more expensive cafeteria food and they're right. The pepperoni pizza ($12.35), bread sticks ($2.99), a total price of $16.34. For $12.35, I had a decently good pizza, although for that price I would rather eat at Blaze Pizza. For $2.99, I got 2 cold breadsticks that didn't even taste good, it almost had no texture to them. Can I also inform you that if you want a soda from the refrigerator it costs $4.99... Who charges this much for a soda... Really? You're better offer ordering something through Grubhub or Uber Eats. You'll spend less per person than eating here. You'll probably even have enough money to go bowling inside of the hotel after you eat.

We stayed at this hotel for 10 days. The food leaves a lot to be desired. It is completely overpriced and is terrible selection, unseasoned, cold and bland. We are very disappointed. The breakfast was the worst of all, and I don’t understand in a beautiful hotel like this that you pay thousands of dollars for, could have such terrible food. I don’t know who runs the food area, but this is the worst of the worst. Do better Food and Beverage director. This is coming from someone who has worked on the Las Vegas Strip for 30 years and knows about cheap buffets.

The food is pre-cooked, bland and pretty greezy. Ate here once and then didn't go back. Starbucks is a much safer option, especially if you have a sensitive stomach. The whole area feels dated (and not in a cool vintage way). Definitely in need of an update/refresh

c
cristianperez1626

If you cannot go anywhere else and this is your only choice, I would feel bad for you. The food should cost half the price and even then I wouldn't buy it. I also wouldn't recommend the dining options they offer with your stay. Everything was very bland, you're better off just buying their snacks from the small convenience store inside. I tried the pizza, the pasta, and the jerk chicken all of which were pretty bad.

The food is very hit or miss. This is the only place I had poor customer service experiences during our stay at Cabana Bay and the Universal parks. When I asked a question to the servers, they'd completely ignore me and didn't have the best attitude in general. My husband slipped on some water on the floor in the dining area, bruising his tailbone and spilling his coffee. He asked the cashier for a new cup for his coffee, and her response was to ask him for his receipt to prove he bought it. He ended up going to guest services who were extremely polite and helpful. We began just eating at the parks when possible because Bayliner Diner is the only place we had consistent negative experiences at, and for most items, the price is the same if not more.

c
cathie blameuser

Prices were way too high for the quality. Breakfast was much better so I ate my breakfast there and dinner I would go outside the park for. You can only get Coke products at this resort so I ended up going to walmart to get my Pepsi. Ordered a 10" pizza one night and it cost $14, it was awful and no taste, after 2 pcs it went in the trash.

Z

A commissary style restaurant at the Cabana Bay Resort. Various kinds of food are offered here, but for me, none is worth paying for. It is the typical overpriced bland food you can find at other commissary style diners around the area. The seating area looks pretty awesome, but the lack of cleanliness overshadows the cool retro style that they have here. Tables can be dirty or sticky. The soda dispenser areas are ofter dirty, wet, and sticky. I saw one guy get sprayed by soda and then saw the same thing happen to someone else two days later. One of the times I came here for a drink, the place smelled like garbage. If you are hungry you are better off just going to the city walk.

This resort needs refurbishing bad. The food court food is awful and needs to be changed. The rooms look worn and the elevators need attention as the floors are missing tiles. Pen marks all over the furniture in the room and the shower head was dirty from buildup. Water pressure was very low. Staff were very friendly..

C
COURTNEY VAUGHN

Kind of a gross place. The first night I got the ultimate grilled cheese which I thought was great but then realized it had a popcorn taste so was it cooked with a dirty tool or something? The burger was gross. The breakfast croissant was not fully stuffed. It's cafeteria type food. The room service for margarita pizza was really good.

Had 3 meals here. (2× Breakfast and a dinner). Prices are higher than expected (more expensive than comparable disney world quick service dining). Food quailty was a expected or slightly higher. Service was awful. The ordering area is small and not well organized. The staff is uninterested in their job (at best) and in many cases had an awful attitude. This was a significant difference from the hotel front desk which had excellent and friendly service. Wait times for food ranged from acceptable to outrageous. I have dietary restrictions and had to place a special order for each meal. I waited 12 minutes for a waffle one day and then 25 minutes the next day. I had to wait 56 minutes for my dinner order and had to return to the order counter 3 times because the order was not being processed by the kitchen. The dining room was not cleaned/bussed consistently. One of the ice tea dispensers had a growth hanging down out of the spout. A few freestyle machines were missing most of the flavors for an entire day.

We stayed at Cabana Bay during this trip to Universal. The Hotel is great. This review is specifically for breakfast. For a family of 4 it was $74. The bacon was inedible. My son, who loves pancakes, couldn’t even finish one. They were…bad. I don’t know how you even do that. We paid to take an uber to get breakfast somewhere else another day. If you’re desperate, they have food. It isn’t good.

M
Maylin Khwanjai

I had bad experience at Bayliner Diner. The staff name Berney, provided terrible service, was racist, and had a bad attitude. She didn't want to serve us because we were Asian. She tried to skip us and serve other customers instead.

Food looks disgusting . Whatever they didn't sell in the morning we'll its there for supper....

Our meal costs $39.85 for two people. My husband had a basic salad and cold spaghetti and meatballs. I took a bite out of my fish and promptly threw the remainder away. The Bayliner Diner is one of the on-site locations to eat at Cabana Bay. Terrible value. If you must eat on-site at Cabana Bay, select any location other than the Bayliner Diner.

L
Lisa Spencer

We stopped in for a cheeseburger. The burgers were already cooked. The burger gut through thw nice precooked dried out burgers back on the grill threw some cheese on put a stock pot cover over them to melt the cheese. Flipped them onto stale week old buns . Added some cold fries and 50.00 bucks later...we threw those burgers in the trash.

V
Vitalii Lunko

We took 90 minutes, in last 15 minute our lane was broken and they said wait, but in half an hour anything changed, we just left this place. It means we paid $80 for 75 min. + $6 for parking each car. If you think it’s okay pay about 70$ per hour, you can play here.

C
Caressa

The food here is ok. The breakfast combo was extremely salty. The eggs were dry, the bacon and sausage were extremely salty, the biscuit was doughy, and the potatoes were the only redeeming thing. The Belgian waffle was good just cold, I would recommend it if you were to order anything. Regards to the dessert, the chocolate cake from the deli was very good. The cupcake from the grab & go section is ok as well. I would recommend getting a Publix cupcake instead. There are a bunch of other food options at City Walk or local restaurants that are actually worth spending money at. Don't waste your money here.

A
Alain Velo

This eatery is not a diner but rather a depressing mediocre cafeteria that I refuse to ever come back to. The ugly woke cartoons on the wall don't help either. The food tends to taste crude and the staff have very little integrity in service. The overall setting looks cheap and pathetic. This diner just like the rest of the hotel needs an upgrade in quality and that begins with having a better staff and getting rid of the wokeness.

Maybe try making the guests omelet before making the employees omelets. I ended up eating after my family. Please tsle.care of your PAYIMG guests first!!!!

Burger COLD, "Hot" dogs, Cold. Soda machines dispensing erratically with flavoring syrups totally off recipes. The Bayliner Diner needs an immediate visit from the Board of Health otherwise diners will become ill from a complete lack of safe food temperatures and the inevitable growth of toxic bacteria. There is zero excuse for not maintaining food safety guidelines. It is clear that no standard operating procedures, S.O.P. 's are being followed. What a complete disappointment coming from a multi-billion dollar operation. Update; ended up sick to my stomach for several days. This place should be closed for intense retraining.

Had the cheeseburger and fries on 12/20/25. The burger patty was like a piece of wood… bread was also hard. Some employees looked like they hated being there

Gave our daughter food poisoning on her 5th birthday. We ate here the day before and it was disgusting but didn’t want to leave to drive somewhere the next day. We should have. This resort would be nice if they had any edible food anywhere on site.

We were extremely disappointed by the service at the Italian food area at Bayliner. There was an young attendend with long slick black hair and long eye lashes that was extremely rude to my young daughter. My daughter was being super nice and asking questions about where to find condiments and this young lady was rolling her eyes and acting very condescending. I asked for a manager but none could be found. I hope this is addressed so other customers can be treated with more respect and kindness.

Ubicación Estratégica: Conveniencia a Cada Paso
