Cecil's Texas Style Bar-B-Q is praised for its authentic Texan BBQ, especially the ribs, chicken, and smoked meat. Customers highlight the excellent and friendly service, with one mentioning a particularly kind server. The restaurant's Texas-themed ambiance and delicious ice cream are also appreciated.
Tip: Consider visiting during the week, as weekend prices are higher and portions may seem smaller for the price. Enjoy the complimentary ice cream.
Cecil's is so confident about how good their BBQ is, they give you as much sauce as you want! I am about the sauce and you should definitely use it, but not needed. The regular rib plate does not skimp on the meat. Their sides are classic and you even get a free soft serve cone at the end. They have the classic Texas size cups with the best ice. I had a tall glass of water and loved it. Do not miss dining in and provides plenty of options that are accessible to all body types.
This place really surprised me. Came here on a friend's recommendation, and they really knocked it out of the park. Came at 3pm and it was slow, better for me and I think more attention from the staff as they really went out of their way to welcome me and make sure everything was on point. Went with the two meat special, pulled pork and turkey on recommendation from the staff. It did not disappoint. The mac salad is delicious but heavy. The sweet potato mash was amazing and fresh. They offered to make a new batch of anything we wanted since we were at a show time. Their sauces were great, mild was perfect amount of vinegar kick and sweet. Great pickles too. Atmosphere is country style with a modern twist. Most importantly, everything is clean.
First time here. Been on my places to try list for about 2 years but don’t really come to this side of town much. Anyways, you order at the counter and they serve you there. Then it’s self serve for your sides and then check out. I got the beed brisket dinner. The beef brisket is the best I have ever had and I’m a huge barbecue person. It’s extremely tender and juicy and tasty even without any barbecue sauce on it. A++++++. Friendly service. My two sides were green beans and collared greens and it needed salt and a mixture of barbecue sauce on top to make it tasty. Banana pudding was ok, nothing to write home about. Will definitely be back for the brisket! Wow.
Generous, hearty portions of Texas BBQ served by friendly folks. And perhaps best of all: FREE ICE CREAM with any dine-in purchase! I've been to this location a few times now and it is consistently tasty. Be aware of a few things: it's a little warm in the dining room, the meat is smokier than most places and the BBQ beans have peppers in them. They also have Cheerwine available at the fountain which is always a nice surprise. I ordered a half rack of ribs dinner plate and my daughter opted for the kids pulled pork slider. Mine came with two sides and hers came with one side and a drink. All of that cost us $22.10 out the door - not bad for the amount of food we got! If you're into Texas BBQ, you owe it to yourself to stop in. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but that's usually a pretty good indication that things inside are going to be tasty.
Place was recommended by my son. Having traveled all over Texas wanted to see if this place was on point. Cecil’s did not disappoint. The pulled pork was flavorful and juicy. The brisket was also juicy and had a nice smoked flavor. The sausage was excellent. Dining in has an ambiance of being in Texas, not down town Orlando, Fl. Very friendly staff too. My husband and I will definitely return again and also recommend this place. Parking may be a bit challenging but we arrive just a few minutes after opening on a Sunday.
My husband and I are big bbq ribs fans. For the price, taste, and the amount you get, we would pick this one the best out of the ones we’ve tried. We enjoyed the juicy ribs, briskets and generous amount of sides. I especially liked hot beans, collard greens as well as green beans. Would definitely come back !
First time here and would definitely visit again if in the area. Opened the door and was welcomed. I had small portion of turkey (I'd hate to see the large), Mac n cheese and potato salad. I like that we get to spoon out our own side items! They have so much to choose from. Also had their Texas mud desert which is like a mix of pudding and frosting and Oreos we think?!? Haha
Delicious food. Great customer service. Very original. Great price.
Great little place for your bbq needs. Selection of meats then a serve yourself on sides. They are also generous with their portions so thats a huge plus for value. If you haven't had it before it's worth the visit.
I won’t eat barbecue unless it tastes like Texas. And this is the best I’ve had in Florida by far !! GREAT PLACE! Still thinking about it months later. I do wish I’d had the brisket to give a complete seal of approval but the pork sandwich, mac & cheese, and stolen french fries (from my boyfriend) were wonderful! Definitely my favorite barbecue place since moving to Orlando. I guarantee y’all will love it too! Thanks Cecil’s !
I loved it! Being from Texas, I was very pleased! The pulled pork sandwich was delicious. The ribs are even better! They had various sides and desserts. The staff was very helpful and attentive. I wish I lived near one.
Thank you for THE best Texas style barbecue in Central Florida. Today was our first visit and what a surprise. I ordered the Texan sandwich with choice of two meats and cheese on Texas Toast. I ordered mine with what I consider to be the national meats of Texas - brisket and sausage. Both meats had a nice smoky flavor, not overwhelming but just right. The test for a good Texas meat is when it dies not need to be smothered in sauce and these meats are great on their own. It also wouldn’t be proper Texas barbecue without sliced onions and pickles which are self serve. Side items are self serve and I chose potato salad which was a bit to mayo-y for me but still tasty and chunky. I also chose potato’s sugar tin with onion and cheddar cheese which was really good. My mate ordered the lunch plate and he chose smoked sliced turkey which was nice and flavorful. The sides he chose were jalapeño mashed potatoes which tasted as you would imagine with the taste of jalapeño but again not overly so. His second side was barbecue beans which had a nice flavor and had bits of brisket mixed in. You start your dining experience when you walk in the door with a large menu on the wall. You order your food and they prepare the meats. Once you have your main course you proceed down the line and serve your own sides and desserts as you make your way to the cashier. This wonderful little casual rustic Texas barbecue smokehouse features self seating and offers free self serve soft serve ice cream cones with each meal purchased. The decor is typical of many Texas restaurants and you dine with country music playing and there are large screen TV’s with sports on to watch if you like. The only competition I can see fir this place in its authentic Texas style is probably 4 Rivers but I wouldn’t compare the two. We will be back here again and again and will bring friends and family. It’s probably an hour away from my home but well worth the drive.
Delicious!! I was craving homestyle BBQ food and I swear every single thing was EXACTLY the flavor profile I was missing (is my Grandma employed in your kitchen??) This was supposed to be a lunch special sandwich w/2 sides but I just couldn't say no to everything clearly. The staff is friendly and funny and the place was clean with lots of seating.
Cecil’s Barbecue has been a mainstay of the south Orange Avenue area for more than 30 years, and they have a really loyal following. The barbecue is great, with plenty of choices (beef brisket, pork, chicken, ribs, sausage, and more). Unlike some barbecue restaurants they also have a lot of great choices for side dishes - at least 12-15 different selections.
Had this delivered for lunch today and oh my gosh was it ever DELICIOUS! I had the chicken breast, pulled pork, and brisket and they were all very moist and tender. Really good portion sizes too! I selected the hot bbq sauce and that was awesome as well. The sides: beans, slaw, and fries were all tasty as well and very generous portions. Will definitely be ordering again!!
So BBQ is my favorite cuisine and no matter where I travel, I always look for a new place to try. This place came up near the Amway Center so we stopped in. It's counter service but with plenty of seating and we opted to try the sampler which is our go-to when it's available. This came with more meats then I've ever gotten before and 4 sides. Everything was absolutely delicious. I am really impressed with the quality of everything and the wonderful smoky flavors. I live a little bit a ways, but I'm coming back just for the food.
There are so many varieties of great bbq in Orlando. However when it comes to Texas style BBQ, there's none better than Cecil's! Their beef brisket and pulled pork are smoked to perfection! The sides are fundamentally southern with a hot Texas twist to some of them. For me, the collard greens and black eyed peas are my favs. The Texas toast is loaded with garlic flavor and just enough salt to be addicting. If you still have room at the end of your meal you can finish it off with complimentary soft-serve ice cream! Try Cecil's and you'll understand why it has been a local favorite for a very long time!
It's a barbeque place, and that's the atmosphere! Ribs, chicken, brisket have always been excellent with generous portions. Wide variety of sides, although I'm partial to the fried okra. Service is always friendly. Been coming here for about 15 years, that's how much I like it!
My good friends from Japan were performing in the Orlando Fringe and took them here for some great southern BBQ! They loved it! The only food i took a picture of was my turkey slider. I was having some stomach issues and at 3 ounces the slider was a perfect size! If you are ever in Orlando and want some GREAT BBQ I highly recommend Cecils!
Cecil's is a barbecue restaurant about 15 minutes from the airport. They have a bunch of parking spots here right off the street and it's easy to get to. Inside they have about 2 dozen tables. When you walk in, you order the meat and then it's self serve for sides. The menu is a good size, and it's best to get 3 meats since it's only a dollar more. Prices are good for the portion sizes. The pulled pork is the best, closely followed by the Brisket. The ribs were sub par unfortunately, not as tender or flavorful as I expected. The sauces are a self self bar too, so make sure to get some. Overall a solid spit, especially with the extremely friendly staff.
Good Texas style barbecue you pick your meats and you choose your self serve sides before check out. This is a gem.
We have used Cecil Texas Style Bar -B - Q for years at least twice each year for catering during our July and December Annual Neighborhood and Friends Gathering! They are alway on time and very friendly and professional. The food is great- we get what use to be calle the BBQ Office Pack is our base for a covered dish gathering of about 40 to 50 folks.
What is there to say about barbeque? In the case of Cecil’s, a lot. Plenty of good food to be had at this local place. I tried one of the specials. A 3 meet and 2 side combo which I found to be an excellent value. All three meats were perfectly cooked, juicy but not greasy, with a balanced smoked flavor. The sides were also excellent, I tried the collard greens and barbecue beans though the staff offered a chance to taste each of the sides available. I found the desserts to be very tempting though this trip I did not try one. The dining area is wonderfully comfortable with the smells of smoked meats in the air and music in the background. My boss and I agreed that we would absolutely come back to Cecil’s again.
Two of us ordered at RockPit brewing the grilled cheese (ordered jalapeños jack) with pulled pork sandwich and the pulled pork sundae. One word describes both….AWESOME! For me it has been the best meal I have eaten this week while visiting Florida. Leaving for home tomorrow and stopping back before our flight. Will let you know if it’s equally as good on our 2nd visit. Will include pics. Ordered the same grilled cheese and pulled pork sandwich added potato salad. The potato salad was creamy, dill with big pieces of potato-very good. The grilled cheese was equally as good as when I had it last week. Also ordered the three rib plate with slaw and beans. The beans are super, smoky good, not over cooked. Cole slaw is creamy, sweet and tangy-very good. The ribs were great smoky, fall off the bone, done right. BBQ sauce was balance of sweet and smoky. The prices are right and the food is very good. We highly recommend Cecil’s. NUM!
Cecil’s BBQ is hands down one of the best barbecue spots in town! The food is consistently delicious — from the perfectly smoked meats to the flavorful sides, everything tastes fresh and made with care. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and has that classic BBQ joint charm that makes you feel right at home. What really stood out for me (besides the mouth-watering brisket and ribs) is how family-friendly this place is. I love that they have a free ice cream machine for the kids — it’s such a thoughtful touch and makes the experience even more fun for families. My kids absolutely loved it, and it kept them excited to come back. The staff is always friendly, attentive, and quick to make sure you’re taken care of. Cecil’s BBQ delivers not just great food, but also a great experience. If you’re looking for authentic barbecue with a family-friendly vibe, this is the place to be!
Everything was cut fresh in front of us! Tried the Beef, pork, beans, mac and cheese or and fries. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Corn bread muffin bit small.
Cecil’s Texas Style Bar‑B‑Q is hands‑down one of my favorite BBQ spots in the area. The smoked meats are rich, tender, and full of flavor - true Texas‑style goodness you don’t find everywhere. The brisket, ribs, and pulled pork all hit the mark, and the sides are hearty and delicious too. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. Staff are friendly and make you feel right at home every time. If you’re craving authentic BBQ done right, Cecil’s is the place to go.
Brisket was dry, banana pudding had mushy wafers. Chicken was great. Sweet potatoes casserole was good
Food was nice. Meat was nicely seasoned. The sides could use some more attention: Mac and cheese was lacking cheese and seasoning. Vibe inside was perfect and the staff was helpful. Didn’t like paying over $50 bucks and food j on boy came with one drink. That part was ridiculous
Five of us ate at Cecil’s recently. We all enjoyed our meals. The food was good, not great. The brisket wasn’t as tender as I expect but the chicken, pork ribs, and Polish sausage were very tasty. The side dishes are a little small. The service was mediocre as was the atmosphere.
Most quiet when we go but it is good and get a good amount of food abd with a meal the free icecream cone is nice. Lots of side options.
Nice clean restaurant that does well with the Texas style barbecue look. Nice friendly staff from start to finish. When you walk in it’s like any Texas barbecue place. You pick your meats, and get your sides. I had to try the ribs bring it was my first time. I ordered s half of rack. They were good, but failed to have that Texas wood taste. Maybe some might not care for it, but for me if you say Texas I want to taste the post oak. I would definitely return and try some more barbecue when I’m in the area.
Good sized portions of sides and meats. Just wishing they had a few more varieties of sides. They actually have Cheerwine to drink which is a great find, especially in Orlando, but the soda fountains were all broken when we visited, which was not told to us when we paid for our food and drinks
Yummilicious. Not gonna lie, the hot link is a bit too greasy, leaves a lot behind coating the mouth. Brisket is great and the baked beans are spot on. The slaw is tasty & not overly sauced, if a bit bland. Staff is super friendly & very attentive. After an afternoon of brewery visits, this absolutely hit the spot. Very family friendly. Looks exactly the way a BBQ place should look. And the sauces are in huge metal containers that in other places hold soup. Yes!
Nice local place for BBQ, super friendly staff. It's a get in line cafeteria style set-up with great prices and good BBQ. The Texas plate, which is brisket and sausage was delicious. They offer a variety of side options and a soft serve ice cream machine for a nice dessert at the end of your meal. Relaxed atmosphere, casual dress code and a comfortable place for anyone who loves good BBQ.
The food is so good! It's delicious authentic Texas style BBQ (I'm born and raised TX). Pulled pork, turkey, brisket, beef ribs (Sunday only), sandwiches, and more. The sides are also sooo freaking good! My favorite is potatoes with cheddar cheese. The customer service is not the best (typical Orlando), but the food makes up for it. Definitely a family place or good place to take a date. Not a fast paced or ridiculously crowded place. I plan on going there more often. 4/5 for me
This is the second time I've ordered from Cecil's (Doordash). This time I ordered the 3 Meats Dinner. For the sides, I got the Jalapeno Mashed Potatoes and the Hot Beans. Both were delicious. The 3 meats were the Hot Links, Brisket and Pulled Pork. All were good, but I noticed that the serving size had shrunk compared to my previous order. Yes, I know the economy is in bad shape at the moment, but I consider that for the price (almost $19.00), a bit more meats can be added. Next time, I might just drop in person and dine in to see if there's any difference. Still giving 4 stars for flavor, but I might look at other options in the future.
The pulled pork sandwich was outstanding .. and the coleslaw was amazing .. I really enjoyed everything . I got mines on Postmates . The only thing I think they should improve is the dessert. I was not a fan of the strawberry shortcake . It’s not traditional to what I know .. it was giving me a cheesecake feel and the graham cracker is like sand that’s how finely they made it .. really disappointing .. but none the less I would still recommend this place to come eat !!
The food was well cooked, but the bbq sauces weren’t very good and since I lived in Texas and love bbq sauce I consider myself a connoisseur. The staff is super friendly and all seem very charming. I felt comfortable there and it seems like a great place to take a family or to meet friends for lunch. Overall it was a good experience for a random lunch choice in a city I don’t spend much time in.
Texas BBQ is often about the brisket- and the server recommended it-- but my serving was a little dry without much bark. The pork ribs were better-- fall off the bone and good bark. The sweet potato souffle is made in house utilizing leftovers from the ice cream machine where you can get a free cone if you have room. Buffet style-- choose your meat and self serve sides.
Very good family atmosphere and fast friendly service. I had the beef brisket dinner platter which was a great value and came with two sides and a drink. The brisket was very good as well as the mild sauce. The sides were OK but not great outside of the jalapeño mashed potatoes which were excellent. If you like barbecue you will like this place.
Can you say “Sampler”? Only when you do the guy who cuts the meat gets really annoyed. But say it anyways and ignore his attitude, because this meal gives you a generous portion of all the meats to sample at a very fair price. It’s a meal that can be shared between 2-3 people. Cecil’s has been around Orlando for decades, way before a lot of other trendy barbecues around today. The service has gone down but the food is still pretty delicious. So if you want to experience an Orlando staple you gotta try Cecil’s at least once and then make a decision for yourself if it is worth returning to.
Nice place with some good food. Idk what it was but I felt the side to compliment the meals were lackluster like no mac and cheese? Got the meat sampler and some of it was good other meats were a tad dry. Definitely would say you get your moneys worth though. Not the greatest bbq in Orlando but its decent.
I would rate this place as good but not great. I like the set up where you grab your own sides and drinks, but w it was not inviting to walk into. Had to guess at the sides grabbing. Tried the turkey, brisket and pulled pork. The beans had the most smokey flavor of everything, including the meat. All the meat were on the dry side and had to be eaten with sauce. The sides were just OK too. Overly oily. I'd try another place before coming back here again.
This was my first visit to Cecil’s and I was impressed! I ordered the Texas plate which included brisket, sausage, two sides, and Texas toast. Everything was delicious and the servings were plentiful. Their mild barbecue sauce was very tasty. My daughter ordered the brisket sandwich but she was not impressed. Half of the meat was a just a hunk of fat ... not too appetizing. I guess, in hindsight, she should have taken it back and see if they would make it right. She did like the barbecue beans! The free ice cream cone was a nice treat. This place is clean and has a nice atmosphere and staff. Please just monitor the food you’re serving a little more carefully. I will be back! 😄👍🏻😄
Ok I’m back. Great service and recommendations from the staff. Brisket sandwiches were amazing! Top shelf food at very reasonable prices. This will be a regular stop for me! First time. Got the rib lunch special. Ribs were great. Potato salad was not good. Made with ranch dressing for some reason. Definitely going back. I want to try the brisket. 😎
I Always like to try new places in the area. Not the warmest greeting yet very good food and service. Had the Turkey Sandwich with 2 sides. Thank you 🙏💪🏽💯
Staff was very helpful walking me through the menu as it was my 1st time. Got brisket and pulled pork and sausage sliders. 😋 Sausage was great. I enjoyed the pull pork over the brisket, but all was good. I ate next door at rock pit brewing which did have a better atmosphere in my opinion. Will be back to try the ribs.
Saw this place on YouTube review and had to give it a go. The meat was luke warm when it was served. I've had better tasting pulled pork and brisket back in Oz. Had to mix the BBQ sauces into the meat to give it some flavour. You pay extra for the brisket... Had the 3 meat and 2 sides. BBQ beans and Jalapeno Mash potatoes were very good. Nice free ice cream cone to finish off.
I used to come here years ago during lunch breaks when working in downtown/SODO area. Always a good meal, decent price, and fairly quick. This was a decade ago. Came back to Cecil's again recently and feel like maybe I'm the one who changed. It feels the same, but the quality isn't what I remember. The sides feel kind of half assed, but the meat was good. The macaroni and cheese specifically tasted like it was made three days prior and just reheated over and over. There was no life in it. Cafeteria style bbq can be good when done correctly. If your a law enforcement officer, you might like this place because everything is done in front of you. If you are not a law enforcement officer, you may not like it because you have to serve yourself. Also, someone stole my drink cup. We have no idea who did it. Who does that?
Mac and cheese and fried okra was cold. I had to ask the cashier to warm them up for me. We spent $32 here for beef brisket, which was pretty good! It was tender and probably the only good part about our meal. Certain plates don’t bring drinks included so it’s an additional charge. Overall experience was just ok.
The dining area was neat and clean. Has a great BBQ joint feel to it. There are no waiters it's buffet style. My brisket was just ok..it was yesterday's leftovers. I watched as he unwrapped it from the plastic wrap, and it was on the dry side. It tasted good and was smoked well. Was just dry. The rest of the food was very good. Place was a but pricey for my taste. Coming out to a little over 20 dollars person. Overall, not impressed enough to go back.
Usually it's good. This afternoon was not the usual. Although the owner was very fast to reach out to ask how they could address this issue and make us happy moving forward. Prompt service and attention are really appreciated in this corporate over ran industry. This is exactly why I try to always eat and shop local. I'm looking forward to returning and seeing how it will be the next time I'm through. Thank you Cecils's for being attentive to your customers needs. *Edited review
The prices are average, the food is ok. Loads of sugar in everything, even the cucumber tomato salad. The tables were clean but the restaurant doesn't feel clean. The service was bare minimum, no one is rude but they're also not friendly or welcoming. I would definitely go here over any chain restaurant, but it's really just ok. They do not have vegetarian protein options and there's no sugar free anything, so skip this place if you're diabetic or keto.
The meat is nice and tender, but bland. Customer service is ok: not rude, not great… more like “meh.”
The ribs were amazing but my side item which was the cucumber salad literally was 1/4 of the cup filled, three bites max, and the garlic bread/toast was SO salty it was inedible.
I was rooting for this place because I desperately wanted some great brisket. Sadly I didn’t find it at Cecil’s . First for the positive, Ribs were great. Juicy and flavorful! The brisket on the other hand was dry, dry, dry. Just flat overcooked . It didn’t have much of a smoke ring because it was overcooked. I was so sad because the flavor was good but I was choking it down. Next the sides…. I got there 10 minutes after opening and the black eyed peas were already mushy, the greens were over vinegary and the Jalapeño mash potato’s were stiff and had too many peppers in it. Fried Okra was delicious! Please take this as fixable issues. Minor tweaks and this could be amazing!
Good atmosphere. The ribs were amazing, the sausage was pretty tasty. Nice that you can get ice cream for free with a meal, and there’s options for the sauces. However, being a Texas BBQ place, I was looking forward to the brisket, which ended up being quite bland (they opened up a plastic wrapper to cut it, so it didn’t seem to have come right out of the smokehouse when we went there). The pulled pork was kind of dry and there were flies near the brewed tea station. A few hours after, I was getting pretty bad reflux. Toast was super salty. The staff was kind. Not rude, just a bit indifferent. It was affordable. Looking at other reviews, maybe we came a bit too late at 6pm on a Sunday?
The brisket was the worst I’ve ever had. The turkey was cold and dry, and the sides were cold, which is alarming since they’re buffet-style
4/10 Super dry brisket Cold and flavorless sides Even the coleslaw tastes like sugar Mac and cheese is like gugu gaga
This place is great for dine in but terrible for catering. We called in an order and asked for enough food for 35 people and paid $597. We did not have nearly enough and got 1 small tray of each side. For almost $600 you can do much better elsewhere. We won't be ordering from here again.
We order food for delivery and the brisket was super dry, the pulled pork had no flavor, and the sausage was okay. The toast was super salty and only toasted on one side. The sauces were the best part and I liked the beans and mashed potatoes. So we continue our search for good local bbq....
we came on the 4th of july and it was not the best experience. i think the guy serving meat at the front was having a bad day, kinda rude to us when it was our first time and we didnt know we served ourselves the sides. the meat was good, good sauces. their mac n cheese was barely edible, i say that as someone who isnt picky about mac n cheese at all. it didnt have any cheese flavor but soooo much black pepper. it was a treat getting a free ice cream cone at the end, but it doesnt make up for everything. when we left i said thank you and wished everyone at the front a happy 4th of july but no one responded or even made eye contact. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
What happened to this place? Brisket was so dry I just threw it away, ribs were practically jerky. I’ve enjoyed this place in the past but never again would I waste my money here..Take pride in what you serve or close down!!! Geez!
What happened to Cecil’s? This used to be my go-to spot for BBQ in the area, but today’s visit was a letdown. The brisket arrived cold and bland, and the sides felt more like Golden Corral. For the price, places like Smokemade or Mission BBQ offer far better quality and value.
Went in to get take out after wanting to try this place for a long time. Fella was really nice at the counter and helpful. I order $60 worth of food (3 dinners). Half rack of ribs, brisket and two meat dinner. Drove home to eat, opened my ribs order and came home to this (see pic). Exactly how it looked when I lifted the lid open. It was dry bits, barely any whole pieces. (ZOOM to your hearts content). I could swear I got the bits/ribs from ends of other racks. Truly disappointed. Saw people in the dine in line get theirs and it looked good, which is why I ordered. The brisket was better, a teeny bit on the dry side but better than the ribs. The pulled pork and sausage would be another combo I would rethink. I wish I'd taken a pic because the portion size of the (meh- but not dry) pulled pork was quite small along with maybe 6 thin diagonal slices of something like polka kielbasa. The sides were pretty average I would say. My husband and I were really looking forward to trying this place out. Even though the take out was a let down, I'd be willing to try out this place again, but def dine in, before we determine if we continue on our search for good 'que. Always love supporting local mom n pop places before the chains. Hope it's better inside.
THE CATERING WAS MORE OF A TAKE OUT, PULL PORK HAS NO FLAVOR I GUESS THATS WHAT THE SAUCE IS FOR. THE RIBS FLAVORLES AND DRY AND THE BREAD OR TOAST WERE SALTY, DONT KNOW HOW. THE VALUE IS NOT THERE FOR ME IS A NO BRAINER......... NEVER AGAIN
This was my first time there..they have a good selection of food items to select from...it like a buffet style setup but a one time go around. It would be nice if the food was fresh and hot. The food was cold to lightly warm. I went back and ask for fresh hot French fries. The staff was pleasant at least If I return I hope the food will be hotter. This place has been in Orlando Fl for a long time I think.
Food was dry. Had brisket and chicken. Minimal flavor. Fruit flies joined us for dinner. Price was fair and servings were a good size.
I've had Texas-style BBQ and this is not it. Chicken is overcooked and dry like it was pressure cooked. The meat has little to no seasoning and the sides are marginal.
They had great customer service but the food was not good. We got two plates of the 3 meats w/ 2 sides and drinks. $50 wasted. Food was bland. I know you’re supposed to season your meat at least a little and you can tell they did not. Only flavor it had was the little sauce cups that came with it. Sides were also not good. Been to a lot of BBQ spots and this place was just not it. Lemonade was good though.
Los fines de semana el costo es mayor en el menú. Para el precio las porciones son pequeñas. No hay gran variedad de guarniciones. No cuentan con acomodo para minosvalidos. Poco estacionamiento.
A friend referred us the first time.It was okay, we decided to give it a second chance. And bring some home for dinner, not feeling like cooking Worst dinner in a long time The ribs were dry. The sliced brisket was ripped apart. Cuz, it was overdone. Could not even chew the ribs Horrible experience never going back again.
I had the 3 meat (chicken/ribs/sausage), 2 side dinner. None of the meat or sides were hot and the meat was so dry that no amount of bbq sauce helped.
The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere; however, the food lacked flavor. I found the chicken edible only when paired with the mild barbecue sauce.
Stone cold fries and a small meat sandwich for $10? McDonalds is better. Ice Cream machine was a little runny. And the soda machine was very weak with some drinks. Chicken meat was quite good though. I'd say 7-8/10 the best chicken burger I've ever had was at smash burger believe it or not. That's a 10/10. This place is ok but your money is better spent on fast food where the fries are hot.
Our workplace ordered from here so I’ve never been in the restaurant. I had ribs with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The rids were dry lacking in flavor and seasoning the sauce they provided helped stomach that. The Mac-n-chz was basic also lacking seasoning and the greens were overpowered by the amount of vinegar in them. After reading the some of the reviews on here I wasn’t surprised.
I Ate here awhile back, I'm from Houston and I can tell you that Cecil's BBQ was a huge disappointment, definitely nothing like Texas BBQ, I tried the brisket, ribs and sausage and will never go back again. Seasoning or smoked flavors were very bland.
This was my first time eating here and I was very disappointed. Expensive food, especially the ribs which were dry, overcooked, and tough! I hope the ribs in Texas aren’t like these were. The brisket was dry. The only things that I tried that were good were the black-eyed peas (a little too salty) and the sweet potato casserole. It’s definitely not worth the hype. If you want great ribs, go to Sonny’s. Their bbq is good and even better with the AYCE!
Dry and over priced. The meat NEEDS the bbq sauce to have any taste. Brisket was dry, pulled pork was dry, bread was overly salted, fries had absolutely zero taste. An absolute and huge waste of my $52.91. Place used to be so good but last 3 times I’ve gone it’s just been bad bad and bad
