The food is AMAZING!!! Everything was seasoned just right right. The 5 Cheese Mac is cheesy goodness. The service was great and friendly. Shay’s Kitchen takes pride in their food and it shows. If you haven’t had a bowl go get you one, just know you’ll be coming back for more.

I was expecting a restaurant with the reviews talking about the ambiance; but this was more of a take out food hall. I ordered online and the service was great. My meal was piping hot and ready to go in about 20min. I got the chicken platter with two sides. That chicken was so good. Crunchy but super juicy. Homemade bbq on the side: Wowsers! I’m a Mac and cheese snob so would’ve liked it to be more creamy and cheesy; it was baked and a little too crunchy/dry for me; but the mashed yams were good. My son got the honey hot wings and they were perfection on a bone. Sauce was flame!! I topped it of with that mystery lemonade and that was awesome too. I’m trying to keep the big backtivity to a minimum but my goodness - this is the spot if you want some fire🔥🔥soul food. I’ll be back before I leave the O. Gotta try them ribs out. Thank you Shay!

I ordered here through Door Dash it wasn't bad I got 2 platters the 4pc fried chicken with yams ,Mac and cheese and collard greens. I’m bringing them down to 3 stars I love their food but I’m very specific person I love the hot sauce they make and their sweet cornbread. Today I don’t get either . Other occasions I experienced this but no lie to the food is good

I feel like the menu overall was Overpriced, but I didn’t mind until the what was supposed to be $25 Fish and grits ended up being $32 and some change. I didn’t notice until I left that they had overcharge me. So that really threw me off. Not sure if I’ll be returning.

The turkey leg was good and the collard greens were tasty, I wasn't a fan of the rasta pasta but that could just be me, my daughter thought it was tasty. This week tho . The fish lunch! The fish was in fact rubbery and thickness of the breading was more than the fish.The greens were so bitter I couldn't get passed the second bite. The gouda grits were absolutely delicious. I'd order again but just the turkey leg w some grits and the cornbread. The cornbread seems consistantly good.

I never thought I would ever post a negative comment but I am disappointed. I ordered the Todd’s Turkey Leg and the turkey was extremely tough. I was hoping that I could be able to exchange it with at least something of equal or even less value and they could not even do that. Having to pay for something I had to not only take back and not even eat is sad. If you do go here know that if you don’t like the food, you still have to pay for it and can’t exchange it.

My best friend got chicken wings and grits. The grits and my roll was the best part of the meal. I spent $63 and I won’t ever do that again. So I am adding to my review. I reached out via instagram to Shays Kitchen and I did get a response in a timely manner. I was offered another meal and I can say it was way better than the night prior. I appreciate the hospitality and her trying to make it right. Personally I’m not sure if I would eat there again but I would recommend at least trying them for yourself.

My pork chop was still raw , cold and very greasy to the point it was grease all in the plate provided. The macaroni was tasteless and as other people said in the comments it gave box macaroni. Shay offered me another meal however the way I was dissatisfied a replacement meal isn’t worth it. Also I ordered honey hot lemon pepper wings and she gave me buffalo. The lunch special says in comes with cornbread and I was given a roll. The presentation of the meals was also unsatisfying, it looks like she just threw the food in the plate with a bunch of grease.

Maybe this restaurant had a different owner in the past because the food I had was horrible. The greens were dirty tasted a lot of grit. I had to throw the whole bowl away. Wait did I mention 6 dollars worth of waste. The chicken wasn't cooked all the way and the Mac n cheese was not macking. Very bad experience 1 out of 10 I do not recommend

This is absolutely thee worst soulfood I have ever had. Everything was just yuck. The macaroni and cheese had no flavor (seems like it was boxed), collard greens horrible, mashed yams...horrible, the smothered chicken was just fried chicken with juice not gravy, the cornbread was good, the lemonade was also good and the fried fish wasn't great but edible. Almost 5 of us ordered food and spent well over $40 each and I'm just appalled at how disgusting the food was. Save yourself the time, money and trouble because the food is not worth it.

Food is overpriced and it taste like it’s microwaved. The fish was rubbery. The Mac and cheese was literally garlic noodles with shredded cheese on top. The greens was ok but again, it tasted microwave. I paid 70 dollars for the fish dinner with collard greens and mac , I also bought another fish soul food plate with double fries. Fries was unseasoned and looked like they through frozen fries in the microwave. They wasn’t even fried hard. I give this place a 0/10. The reviews have to be written by the staff because the food here is so nasty. The service here is really trash I stool there for 5 minutes until someone acknowledged me to take my order. Kitchen looks dirty and the cooks look confused. I came from Jacksonville to try this place. Complete disappointment.
