Very delicious tacos! Been here twice now and they are consistently tasty with great service. They also were super accommodating for my friend with celiac (gluten free). Stop by when you are in town!! Thank you to both the servers who were so caring!!

Clean, very friendly, great local business. Food was very good - and generous portions. The tacos are more traditional, but the burritos are not (still excellent food, but not your typical Mexican burrito). Loved the decor, and the bottled Mexican drinks is a nice touch. It's good to support local! Forgot to get a picture of the burrito before we bit into it, but these are some fantastic looking fish tacos.

Great hidden taco joint out near Harrison. We always stop by when we're in the area. Amazing flavors and very reasonably priced. They were also cool for us to sit on the outdoor patio with our dog. Highly recommend trying the birria tacos. Will definitely return

Taco Rio in Harrison Hot Springs serves up delicious burritos! I ordered takeout, and the flavors were spot on—fresh ingredients, great seasoning, and a satisfying portion size. Definitely a great spot if you’re craving Mexican food in the area. I’ll be back for more!

We are from Mexico but living in Vancouver and they have one of the best birria tacos we’ve tried in BC for sure. Cochinita and beef tacos are also amazing, definitely a must try

Such a nice restaurant- we ordered a tempura bean burrito, chicken tacos and mango mock tail. The burrito and drink was great! Chicken tacos had fried chicken (expected grilled) but overall great place, nice vibe and Jessica was amazing! :)

I've never considered myself a fan of Mexican food but my friends wanted to try this place and I am SO glad they did! The food was exceptionally delicious! We all had different plates, and each one was enjoyed. I asked the waitress to recommend for me and I was not disappointed despite being a tad wary when she suggested I try the baked cauliflower rice bowl. The staff were warm and friendly as well. We will definitely be back when we are in this area!

This little restaurant in Harrison hot springs, has a great variety of food and drinks. I am vegan, they have the best portobello mushroom & califlower mushrooms! My friend had the chrispy chicken with a jalapeño cheese crust. Which she said was awesome! Others had short ribs tacos and brisket tacos. All of which they raved about. The margaritas were out of this world! If you are in the area, stop there!

C
Celia Palmer

We had the chicken tacos and the chicken rice bowl. Both 10/10 we left very full and happy!

OMG! I mean, I have been here in Canada for almost 4 years and I am going to tell you that this is the best Mexican food I have ever had. I’m from Mexico, I am very happy to have found a place that returns to my country just by trying the food

N

Great food all across the table! Service was alright. Music was quite loud for a restaurant, I could barely hear my husband speaking to me from across the table. Atmosphere was modern with a fusion of Mexican? Regardless the food was terrific! Limited parking.

L

We stopped in for a snack and a drink. The margaritas, nachos with cheese and jalapeño poppers did not disappoint! A bit pricey at first glance, but the freshness and serving size made up for it. If I were here longer, I’d definitely go back!

The food was superb! I got a burrito and it was amazing, and my 3 friends got tacos and said that they were the best tacos outside of Mexico that they have ever had.

I love this place....food looks so delicious and smelled so divine. The service was excellent, Cynthia was working the day I was there and she runs circles around the other staff. I'm sure she isn't being paid enough! She is the best server and made my stop there even better. She's personable, professional and quick! There is parking out front and a lovely outdoor patio! You can order to go as well. They have a liquor license also, so have a shot of tequila with your meal. I will be back when I'm in the area again!

The best Raspberry & Mango Margarita's we've ever had. Had a delicious lunch starting with homemade Guacamole & chips, then Al Pastor Taco's & Spicy Chicken Burrito. Fantastic food matched with fantastic service. Huge selection of Tequila. Hard to decide what to order...it all looked good!!! Planning on going back soon!!!

Much better than expected! The food was flavourful and fresh. The service was excellent! The jalapeño margarita was an awesome surprise. The burrito had soooo much flavour and the tacos were great. Cynthia (owner) was a pleasure to talk to and made us feel very welcome. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell in the food. WE’LL BE BACK!

I ordered the taco bowl with chicken. Food was awesome! The bowl was massive! Enough to feed me two hefty meals. My husband had the brisket tacos and fries. Food was very fresh and delishious. A super cute atmosphere and waitress was a darling.

First time to try taco, we tried a combo waitress recommended, include pico and chips, salad, 16 4" tortillas and 3 type dipping sauce, one of these sauces is medium spicy, but very tasty. We chose spicy chicken, basically,a little bit spicy, and sweet. Very tasty.

B

Tacos and margaritas are amazing! We’ve tried a lot of tacos, and these might be the best we’ve had in BC. All the flavors are wonderfully real, and everything is made with care. Highlights include the Classic Lime Margarita & Carne Asada taco! Great spot to visit whilst in the Harrison Area. Enjoy!

Dropped by here tonight and was not disappointed. Service was friendly, and food came out quickly. The portions were very generous, and the fries were delicious. The churros were amazing. Stopped in for dinner here with my husband and two teenaged sons. The boys eat a lot and this place delivered! Absolutely delicious nachos and we all shared the the 2-3 person share plate with corn tortillas and crispy chicken. Topped it off with a super yummy raspberry margarita (for me). Service was fantastic too. A great experience all around! We’ll be back for sure!

33 degrees and we wanted to find a dog friendly road trip. stop. We came across Taco Rio as we entered Harrison Hot Springs. The staff were attentive and let us know Etch was welcomed on their patio. We sampled a few drinks. The margaritas were delicious. The Al Pastor and Carne Asadas paired well with the drinks. The beef brisket and pork were seasoned perfectly. Reminded me of cruising in Mexico. We ended the visit with Churros. Crunchy on the outside with just the right texture inside. The dulce de leche was a perfect dipping sauce. I highly recommend visiting Taco Rio while in Harrison Hot Springs.

Was recommended this place during a stay at Harrison, normally I don’t go for tacos so I tried their burrito and bowl instead. It was indeed delicious! Plenty of texture and taste, the sauce wasn’t overwhelming, chips had just the right amount of salt. Will come back again!

I'm the luckiest woman in Harrison that this gem is literally on the corner & can walk there! Some of the very best food Mexican or other that I have enjoyed eating. Brilliantly delicious & think layers of yummy flavors :0) We ordered the shrimp taco, fish taco, pork taco, the crispy chicken burrito - ALL delicious & amazing. The churos are crispy on the outside, soft & tender on the inside - freaking YUM!! Oh & the home made caramel sauce to dip. Prices are excellent food is even better.

Taco Rio is a fantastic spot, conveniently located just 4 minutes from Harrison Hot Springs Resort. The decor is on point, with a lovely outdoor patio and spacious indoor seating area that's well-decorated. But what really stood out was the excellent customer service - the staff were knowledgeable and offered great suggestions and recommendations. I enjoyed trying the green chicken enchiladas and quesabirria tacos, both of which were delicious and full of flavor. The enchiladas came with generous portions of rice, beans, sauce, and salsa, with a nice citrusy twist. The quesabirria was packed with flavor and was a highlight of my meal. With a wide variety of drinks and food options, Taco Rio is definitely worth a visit when you're in the area. I'll be sure to stop by again next time I'm at Harrison - highly recommended

So, I can't knock the food. My tacos were 26$!!!! For 3. Which is borderline insane. But they were incredibly delicious. And my wife loved her fish burrito. We sat on the patio. Not much atmosphere other than some pinatas. We walked from Harrison, be warned it is a bit of a trek. But very easy.

High quality, great tasting food. We've been here a few times and always enjoyed the food. The Carne Asada tacos are our favorite. The Quesadilla is huge and can definitely be shared. The burrito too for that matter. We enjoy the Jarritos sodas and there's lots of different tequilas if that's your thing. 😉 I also recommend the churros with Dulce de Leche, mmmmm. Yummy! Our servers have always been friendly. We will be back as the food is high quality and delicious.

Nice and clean new restaurant driving into Harrison! I love the decor and the owners seem like super genuine people and eager to please. I had the fish taco and my husband had chorizo. The flavor was very nice I found the tortilla a bit stale but I will definitely go back there again and try the burrito and maybe a different kind of taco

K

Went there when they opened. Very friendly front staff and the kitchen staff even said hi. Ordered 3 Conchinita’s. The meat was very good lots of flavour. The corn tortillas were greasy and falling apart. They didn’t put cilantro on it as listed on the menu and they added goat cheese too it didn’t taste that good. Overall wouldn’t grab food here again. Options for Mexican are limited in Harrison which may be why they slippin on the quality of food.

e

Preparation of the foods are good. I have the fish and beef taco. The deep fried fish was perfectly done. Right golden color and crunchiness. The beef was not to my liking. A bit warm temperature would be nice. The fries were excellent. Home made for sure not package.

We ate dinner at this place and were overall happy with the dining experience. The food was palatable and fairly mild and service was A-OK.

K
Kayvon Motamed

Tried a handful of tacos, 5/6 of them were really good. Big 6" corn tortillas with backups underneath for your spillage. At $8/ taco (avg) it's pretty steep, I think $6 ea would be the sweet spot. The hibiscus drink and Shirley temple were tasty, but they didn't have the Horchata that we were really looking forward to. The wait staff was nice, a fun vibe to the place, including upbeat music! I do recommend trying it, at least once.

A friend wanted to check this place e out but what a pleasant surprise. I’ve driven by many times and wondered how good can a taco place in the middle of Harrison be? My reservations were all wrong!! It is a great place you should check out. The interior atmosphere is quite nice, the outside is more suited for our weather but still nice The service was great but the food really was the highlight. I had the chicken taco and I didn’t expect it to be executed so well. The sauces were great and the chicken was so crisp and fresh. Often times I’m wishing other restaurants prepared their chicken like this. The rice could have been a little tad bit better but they hit the spot way more than not. Definitely will be coming back every time I visit Harrison.

Great flavors and so fresh. The edamame seemed different but worked so well. The braised beef rice bowl was awesome! I would have taken a pic of it but I couldn't put my fork down until I was done.

My Vegan Partner Loved their RiceBowl! As did I but mine was vegetarian. We did not leave hungry, it was filling. The crispy cauliflower was to die for! It wil definitely be on our places to eat when we go to Harrison! Staff were nice and food came quick.

Made a special trip out here for my birthday after passing by on our way to Harrison, this is a convenient and we’ll decorated restaurant. Service was quick and friendly, takeout was well packaged and neat, was a little bit pricey but the taste and portions were good. We’ll be back for breakfast!

Drove from out of town today to try this place out after seeing a good review on Facebook. Ordered the spicy chicken taco, short rib taco and baja fish taco. All were delish!! Finished up lunch with freshly made churros. Mmm Really good but a little pricey. Glad I tried it out though!

Pretty decent spot for Mexican. Good portion sizes! Note: the fries are massive and probably best shared between two people! Aoili with fries was 10/10.

J

I've ordered take out from Taco Rio many times, and it's always been pretty good. The burritos are the hightlight, as is the burrito bowl. Not a big fan of their soft tacos. Mexican pop is a nice addition. One issue is that sometimes the staff will have definitely-not-PG13 music blaring in the dining area. 4/5

Heard great things about this place last few years, but greatly disappointed when we went. -Atmosphere is great. Nice layout. Tables are just a little to high when you sitting down. -service was good, friendly and knowledge. -Food- Was average. tasted very bland. They put sheets of wax paper on the bottom of each tray, but when you eat something like a burrito, the wax paper falls apart. So i had to pick up the wax paper from my food. -Price are very high compared to other taco restaurants.

Caulifkower taco 5/5!!! Bean taco 3/5 Chicken taco 4/5 Pork taco 3/5 Fish taco 5/5!!! Some things are hit and miss, but iverall very nice atmosphere :) Patio could use some wasp traps. Margaritas are small and full of ice but very tasty!

I had previously enjoyed this restaurant on many occasions. However, tonight when we were there the whole table ordered burritos and when mine came it was a bowl (wrong order). I said I was fine to eat it since I didn’t want it to go to waste. When the bill arrived I was charged for the item I didn’t order, which was $10 more. I said I would pay for the item I DID order, but not the one I didn’t. The waitress had to call the owner (Kevin) on the phone and he asked to talk to me to debate the situation, which felt awkward and unnecessary. This encounter was unpleasant and I don’t think I will be going back.

P
Panku

No AC. Mid chips (better than store bought not what I expect for house fried) and price that doesn't match the portions or the quality. Margaritas were fine but I don't think I've ever had a bad one.

D
D’arcy

the tacos were only ok although my husband thought they were very delicious so maybe i just didn’t order right? the margaritas are tasty

E
Ebony Bonhomme

Food is good. I especially loved the pork belly tacos when they had them. However, every time I’ve ordered take out from here I’ve had something missing and been called to come back, had something missing before I even left (double checked because of previous experience), or had up to a 1.5 hour (and an additional 30 mins also because something was missing). I’ve given this place multiple chances but at this point wouldn’t consider ordering again unless I’m dining in.

B
Bambi1234

I’m not sure what’s happened but I feel like ever since they were closed for what seemed like a year their food is different.. and not in a good way. I used to love their quesadillas but now it’s honestly just a soggy mess. The chicken is far from being crispy and the toppings and how they cook the flour tortilla just soggy and messy. No crunch or anything to it. This is my second time now giving this a try I even asked for no crema and the chipotle aioli on the side and still no improvement. Sorry Taco Rio, we would drive all the way from maple ridge to hit this place up but now, we found something much better just over the bridge in Surrey.

A
Amey

Cute little taco shop with tasty fare. Ordered the fries with black garlic aioli; the fries tasty, but I was not a fan of the aioli. There was a bitterness to it that I just could not enjoy. The tacos were tasty and the fillings are very generous. The shrimp was crispy and juicy in the centre with a very complimentary pineapple salsa. The cod was not my favourite, the fish was cooked very well and was moist, but it lacked a bit of flavour. Maybe even a bit more salt? My favourite dish was the Honey Roasted Squash taco. The bit of sweetness and saltiness was perfect. I also really enjoyed their churro bites with the dulce de leche sauce. Yum! The staff have been very friendly whenever I've gone in and it seems quite clean inside. Overall, I'd definitely come back and try out their other dishes. EDIT Sept 2021 Recently ordered their Rio wings to go and when I opened the container it had a thick layer of oil at the bottom. The wings were also oversalted, I had to chug water with it as all you could taste was salt and grease. Maybe it's different in house, but I really wouldn't recommend the wings.

Disappointed with this place. my boyfriend and I ordered enchiladas with pork, they were ice cold and the pork was dry and not much flavor. 25$ each, I expected the food to be better. There weren’t too many guests so I’m not sure how the food was cold. I’ve been to this place before they closed down, maybe the owners changed and now they have new recipes or chefs. But I won’t be going back again unfortunately. What we did like were the margaritas and our server was friendly.

I
Isabella Africano

The hosts were kind, the server was not very engaging and somewhat inexperienced. They seemed tired but no customer should be on the receiving end of that. I didn’t expect much as soon as I heard radio pop music blasting 😂. No cultural or Mexican vibe whatsoever but it’s a cute place. But the food… not good. It came very quickly and I was impressed, but came to realize why. It tasted reheated. The pork enchiladas were such poor quality I tried my best to finish it but just couldn’t. The beef was dry and cheap, and the taste was so off. They didn’t have feta cheese, but “melted” cheese that also didn’t work. Probably because that’s not how you serve enchiladas. The best part was the chips and pico. That should say enough. After a sour and forgettable experience like this I’d just move on but for how shockingly expensive it was for what we received motivated me otherwise.

J
Julie Gagnon

First time here, probably will be my last. I ordered a fish burrito, but was given a chicken burrito. As one who hasn’t eaten chicken in 20 years, it wasn’t great. My friend switched burritos with me, but it would have been nice to have them acknowledge their mistake when they were informed.

Not recommended and extremely overpriced I wanted to love this place. Walking inside, it was obviously designed and decorated with love and fun. I had high hopes for the food. We ordered a couple fish tacos and a green chicken enchilada and a couple coronas. The fish tacos were good, although overpriced. When it's $7 or $8 per taco, offering a variety of hot sauces seema fair. The hot sauce in the huge bottle offered is not recommended. The enchilada was really disappointing. The rice was extremely dry and there was chicken cartilage and a bone in the enchilada. When our server asked how the food was, I told her about the chicken bone. She said there shouldn't be any bones but there might be some since they take the meat off a roast chicken... I didn't even get to telling her about the rice. For $26, I expect lot more. OK... So... What's the point of asking how my food is if you're not going to do anything to correct it?

This was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Our group of seven ordered a plate of nachos, the cheese was barely melted and the meat was so undercooked that it was practically raw. Worse yet, we discovered a piece of plastic wrapper mixed in with the toppings, which was absolutely disgusting. When we pointed this out to the server, she rolled her eyes and didn't even bother. Shocked and angry, we left all the food untouched and prepared to walk out. We didn't want to leave a tip for this horrible experience and she outright threatened to call the cops if we refused to leave a tip. But before we could even leave, the server had already added a 25% tip without telling us and handed us a handwritten slip instead of a proper bill. This place is beyond unprofessional, and I strongly urge everyone to avoid it at all costs. Do yourself a favor by avoiding this place.

Stopped there yesterday while out on a drive. Not impressed! No complimentary chips and salsa 😒 first Mexican Restaurant I’ve encountered without them. Paid $9 for a plate of bland chips and a small container of Pico Had the beef burrito 🌯 Where’s the beef? All rice! My wife had the shrimp taco way too much coleslaw little shrimp! $4.50 for a soda! Total bill $50 for very little! I don’t recommend this place and certainly won’t be back! Oh and the waitress reeked of alcohol like she had been out partying all night!

Spent 80 dollars on food that ended up in the garbage. Rarely do I leave reviews unless overly impressed but this was bad. We ordered a crispy cauliflower bowl which came with chicken instead of cauliflower, a kids quesadilla and a triple threat quesadilla both were completely soft and soggy totally inedible my kid took over bite of hers and requested a new dinner. They used to be a lot better but since the renovations and whatever else they went downhill. I used to recommend this place to anyone looking for food toys way and sadly I don't think I will ever do that again or even go back

Title: **Terrible Experience - Uncooked Food and Rude Service** Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ Review: I recently had a shocking experience at this restaurant. We ordered a crispy chicken platter with tacos, but it turned out to be a nightmare. The tortillas were uncooked—straight out of the package and onto our plates. The chicken wasn’t cooked properly, making it inedible. To make matters worse, there was a plastic cover in the cheese they served us! The manager herself served us, and when we pointed out the issues, she acted like nothing was wrong. She even took a mug to bring us water but never came back with it. The worst part? She added a 25% gratuity to the bill without our consent. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Avoid this place at all costs!

Don’t even know where to start. Server told us that food is taking longer than normal as it was the end of the evening, about 30-40 minutes... fair enough- she ignored our table walking by multiple times and offering other tables discounts on their food for a long wait. After waiting for over an hour we had enough, finally got the food and asked to have it packed to go. We weren’t offered anything for how long we waited and the server ended up being rude to us when we left. Wouldn’t recommend this place after the awful service we received. 👎

They used to have good food before but this time it wasn’t to the expectations. I ordered chicken rice bowl and chicken was so sweet.

H

Last time I ordered a Burrito (take out) it was wrapped and fantastic! Ordered a Burrito tonight (take out) and it was in a container. It's soggy, stuck to the container, and falls apart when trying to lift it out. I'll have to use a knife and fork to eat a Burrito, which kind of defeats the purpose if I was wanting to eat this on the go or outside somewhere - where I don't have access to a knife and fork. Go back to wrapping. This is ridiculous.

Do you want authentic Mexican and great service? This is NOT the place. We order different dishes and the con-census was that, all the meat was dry. Chicken- over cooked and dry. Beef-dry. Fries-how many times can you butcher fries as they were crunchy. Not crispy, but over cooked crunch The prices are ridiculous. Order nacho add $5 for cheese. What the hell. So you’re only order chips? Rice bowl $9. But add chicken (overcooked and dry) and it’s $25. Everyone but one paid card. When paying cash, the server kept the change. Without asking. Not today seniority. No tip Whet to ask the server a question and both were on their phone and ignored the customer. Will never go back. And highly recommend you don’t waste your time at this place.

1. Where's the flavourrrrr like actually though, do y'all even know what Pico de Gallo is? It's literally tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. Where was the cilantro? Just call it diced tomatoes. And the burrito lacked flavour too. Didn't want to order any sauce for it cause you guys literally charge extra for flavour 2. Whyyyyy does it take over an hour to get chips and dip???? Like open the diced tomatoes dump them in the bowl and call it a day. Not impressed. 3. Were the refried beans even once fried? They weren't cooked, weren't fried, and not once have I had refried beans that look like a sad onion bean soup No Bueno ☹
