Found this place for Sunday brunch and decided to give it a try. We were so impressed from the minute we walked in the door. Everyone was smiling, happy and helpful! We did place a reservation, which I recommend. I also recommend reserving outside seating, weather permitting as it does get a bit loud inside. We forgot to take a picture of the drinks, Mimosas and Sangria, as well as the pork belly appetizer. So delicious. The burger is too big to eat, but too good to stop eating and the potato wedges stay hot forever. How is that? Short Rib Hash is amazing. Also too much to eat in one sitting! Next time I am in Orlando on a Sunday, I'll be here!
Stopped in for brunch after a nice stroll along Lake Eola. The house cold brew espresso martini was exceptional. Enjoyed chorizo hash burrito bowl and shrimp and grits. Attentive service and pleasant atmosphere.
So so goooodd! been here twice and both times, the food was amazing. Staff is super accommodating. I would recommend having a reservation as it is pretty busy.
The team and cooks are Amazing! The food was delicious. I had the smash burger with no bun and side salad with their own cilantro dressing! My wife had the Philly cheese steak with sweet potato tots! We are visiting from out of state and look up local restaurants no chains in ChatGpt and this was one on the list! Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed TSM. It was next door the Abby. Had a show to go see. The Burger is char grilled! Awesome. Sweet & Spicy short Ribs, 10 Stars. The drink, M Mule, get outta town... you guys hooked it up! Ty for making our night start.... awesome!
Nice staff, delicious food, nice atmosphere. We did all apps and split it, making it about $12 per person split 3 ways. (Would have been cheaper if it was split 4 ways, but we owed a friend money so we split it 3) All 3 dishes eaten in the same sitting was perfect! -Pretzel -Salmon Cakes -Pork Belly
Nice spot near downtown town with mostly street parking. Service was great and food was tasteful. Had the mussles, buchetta and Korean ribs as appetizers and a salmon salad as the main meal. The mule signature drink was good but watered down (lots of ice). Would definitely return again. Also very affordable. Dinner for 2 was $72
First time coming here. Very cool atmosphere and the menu was amazing. I had a Mango Mamacita, which is a tasty cocktail. I also had the Honey Apple Flatbread with prosciutto. The flavors were incredible. Highly recommend coming here.
The food was amazing! I had the Shrimp & Grits, NY Strip Steak with Sweet Potato Tots and Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese. The shrimp and grits was something I never knew could be such a great combination. When I took the first bite I immediately was blown away by the soft and creamy texture and flavor. It was like the perfect comfort food! All I could say was “WOW!” The steak was ordered medium rare and it came out PERFECT! Perfect sear, perfect texture, juicy, flavorful, soft, melt in your mouth… and the steak was bigger and thicker than my hand! The Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese was thick and creamy as well, very flavorful and WORTH IT! The Sweet Potato Tots were a perfect crispy side. This place opened my eyes to a whole new set of flavors! The food portions were large enough that we had left overs. I caught the itus eating all that good food. I fell asleep during the car ride home and then about 2 hours later, woke up, ate the left overs, said “WOW!” again, and fell back asleep. I had the best sleep in years. I can’t wait to go back!
We stopped by before the immerse festival, and we’re so glad that we did! The food was fantastic. The service although busy was good. And the food in service was quick. Cannot wait to go back.
I was searching for the perfect spot to celebrate my birthday, and The Stubborn Mule in Orlando just fell into my lap — what a gem! I met my cousin who lives nearby, and we were looking for a good meal, great vibes, and a few laughs. Our server, Jessica, was absolutely amazing — friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel like queens! She knew the menu inside and out and gave the best recommendations. We started with the Edamame topped with grated Parmesan, which came in a generous portion and was so flavorful. For the main course, I ordered the Smash Burger with Garlic Broccolini — I was thrilled to learn it’s made with grass-fed beef. My cousin had The Stubborn Mule and Cheesy Gouda Grits, and she loved every bite. To top it all off, Jessica surprised me with a Salted Caramel Cheesecake for my birthday — such a sweet touch! I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday lunch — great food, amazing service, and perfect outdoor weather in downtown O-Town. I’ll definitely be back! 🎉
As a Southern girl, I am picky about Southern cuisine. The shrimp and grits did not disappoint. I love this place so much! I went for the first time for Saturday brunch with friends and returned the very next day for Sunday brunch with my family!
Absolutely amazing experience. The food is so flavorful, every bite something to remember. The service was out of this world, from the hostess to our waitress, Sydney. We definitely will be coming back again and again. Thanks to the staff; they truly made our night unforgettable. Thanks again Sydney for the drinks and food recommendations 😋 😊.
We found this lovely restaurant near downtown Orlando and sat outside for an early dinner. Joseph R. was our server and he was wonderfully attentive and helpful! We had the sticky pork belly for appetizers and for entree braised short ribs and grits and a seafood fBLT. All were amazing!! We will be back!
We had an amazing lunch here. We started with the chicken wings. Then I had the entree, Take the Cake , a fish dish ( red fish) it was delicious. Our server Keyla was fantastic. Ask for her. Thank you and we will see you again!
My birthday was wonderful at The Stubborn Mule on 8/30/2025. In from NC ~ My son treated me to this nice atmospheric restaurant. Nestor was our waitor and he was lovely 🥰. For the Appetizers we had the sticky pork belly & sticky shrooms rolls. Then we feasted on Along Came Molly (braised short ribs) & grits ~ NY steak strip with mashed and broccolini. Dessert was bread pudding. All of the food was great. 5 ⭐️'s all around. Nestor was very attentive and amusing. I enjoyed him because he was himself ~ Keep being you Nestor. The pics around the restaurant are a conversation pieces. They have outside dining ~ Will definitely come back to this establishment when I'm back in Florida next year 2026.
This restaurant has a great ambiance. The burgers were really tasty including the impossible burger that was especially good. Our favorite side was the white cheddar mashed potatoes, delicious.
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We ate at the bar because there was no wait to sit there. I ordered the burger, and my husband had the cuban sandwich. Both come with house fries. The food was excellent. I also had a white sangria, yummy too 😋 We will definitely be back when in this area of Orlando.
The drinks was amazing. The bartender was a nice man. Nice atmosphere and nice place to chill. This was my first time I was definitely impressed. My brother had the salmon dish. He said it was excellent.
If you have the budget, this is a hands down a must go if you're in the downtown Orlando area. The food was fantastic, the service was great, and the inside looked very chic and rustic. Good took a bit for the food to come out, but nonetheless, the quality and flavor made up for it. Recommendations: The cheesy grits were by far the best I've ever had. The eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly. The waffles, although not your typical large waffle from a breakfast place, were also great! And lastly the prosciutto flatbread that also very delicious.
First time visiting this spot absolutely had a great time. My server Kayla was amazing. Very sweet & kind. Loved her service if you come to this spot ask for Kayla. My wife enjoyed her birthday definitely recommend this spot for anyone. Kayla keep killing it 💪🏽
Great restaurant. We came directly after a flight and were starving! The service was great and the food arrived in an orderly fashion fresh and hot! I ordered 3 apps in favor of an entree. Did the mussels, pork belly, and Parmesan fries. The fries were just okay but the mussels and pork belly blew me away. Very delicious! Would come here again when we’re in town. It is also a good two blocks away from Publix where we loaded up on essentials before checking into our hotel. So very convenient location as well.
This was my first time coming here and all I can say is wow how come I didn’t come any sooner. To be honest we have barely been to restaurants down town but this one was really good. Brandon who served us the first time was amazing! He recommended drinks since we love mules we asked which is best, he recommended the stubborn mule which is delicious not to much ginger or that sour taste. For food we grabbed the lemon hummus, the sticky mule wings & the southwest chicken flatbread. All great choices. Very happy with our choices. Brando also recommended brunch on Saturdays and Sundays! And of course we had to go. Went this Sunday that passed and of course Brandon was there at the bar, him and zero took very good care of us. For brunch we did the avocado toast which comes with sourdough, smashed avocado, beef steak tomato, baby arugula, shaved parmesan, smoked sea salt. We also ordered the woke up first 2.0 fried chicken, sugar pearl waffle. bacon, smoked gouda, fried egg, bourbon maple syrup, breakfast potatoes. I have nothing negative to say about this place everything was great and service is phenomenal. FYI weekend does get busy for brunch so be prepare.
Sooooo good! Jessica was our server and she was amazing! Drinks were kept full, food was out quickly and the atmosphere in general was great. We had a party of 9 at lunch on Friday and service was flawless. Every plate on the table was scrumdiddlyumptious. We started with the pork belly appetizers and mussels. Oh my gah.... to kill for. This place did not disappoint and should be on your go to local food destinations! Do it, you won't regret it.
The Stubborn Mule offers a relaxed dining experience with food that’s genuinely well done. The highlight was the flatbread pizza with apple and honey—crispy, flavorful, and nicely balanced between sweet and savory without being overdone. Additionally, the Gouda Mac and cheese was to-die-for. The drinks were also solid, well-mixed, and enjoyable, rounding out the meal nicely. Overall, it’s a good spot for quality food and drinks without feeling too formal.
Wow! Tried this little neighborhood gem on a rec from a friend…and I’m glad I did! What a cool spot with great drink deals and even greater food! The portions were nice, prices very reasonable, and…most important, the food was tasty. Customer service was on point too—responsive and polite! Highly recommend!
Excellent Saturday brunch at the Stubborn Mule. We started with Bloody Marys, which were delicious, and the pork belly, which was phenomenal. Perfectly cooked and seasoned with a creamy dipping sauce. It was a huge portion! I got the shrimp and grits for my main. The shrimp were delicious and perfectly cooked. The grits were cheesey and tasty, but a little dry. It was almost like a grit cake more than grits. Our other entree was the Who Woke Up First (I think that was the name), which was basically a donut with fried chicken tenders and bacon on it, topped with a donut hole. Very creative and interesting, and tasty! It was served with breakfast potatoes, which were also delicious. Overall an excellent brunch, and we enjoyed the unseasonably cool Florida temps on the patio.
This was one of best places Ive been to in awhile. Service was excellent, that downtown city ambiance vibes were great and our food was tasteful. We sat outside and unfortunately it ended up raining but our server Bryce was awesome. He offered us a round of drinks on the house or to cancel our meals so we didn't have to sit in the rain. The point was to make sure we had the best time we could and we honestly did. Thank you team for everything and thank you Bryce!
Highly recommend! The pork belly appetizer was delicious but all the food was good and the service was on point! Will definitely return to this location. Inside and outdoor seating is available but you may have to spin the book a few times for parking. Make reservations for brunch on a weekend, it didn't take us long to be seated.
Great food, tasty drinks, and a solid people watching patio in front, which is great during the wine walks every 2nd Thursday of the month. Appetizers come out quick. Pork belly is a must! Just pick any of the mules and it will be good, Spartacus is my favorite. For a pub type atmosphere inside, the food is phenomenal and can’t go wrong with the burgers. Let’s just say since I live only a block away, this place has forced me to jog around Lake Eola more than I expected. Don’t even get me started with the brunches, bottomless mimosas, just go and enjoy. You’re welcome!
Been loving experiencing new places around Orlando. Was in the area with my wife and decided to google “lunch spots in Orlando” and this place spoke to me. The amount of reviews made me feel comfortable choosing this spot and I was not dissatisfied. The food was amazing and the portions were very generous. The pretzel bites and the pork belly bites were delicious. The star of the meal had to be the “What came first” chicken burger. It was so delicious that I don’t think I put it down once before finishing it. The burger matched with the rosemary garlic fries & the “Spartacus” was perfection . I would definitely recommend this place and I will definitely be back to try the other menu options.
Big room, with a nice aesthetic. The service was lacking in attentiveness and diligence. Several kitchen items were dropped on the floor while we were dining. However the food was top notch. Supposedly made from scratch, our stubborn burger and steak were cooked well and presented well. The Gouda Mac n cheese and side of fries were prepared well and tasted delicious. The drink selections were plentiful and tasty. Would recommend happy hour prices. Parking was first come first swerve for street parking or paid parking lots.
We checked out the menu online and decided to give this place a try—big mistake if you don’t have a reservation! Unless you’re up for a wait of over an hour, you’re out of luck. The long line outside says a lot about how good it must be. Since we were on a tight schedule, we headed elsewhere but will definitely return—with a reservation. The food we saw coming out looked amazing. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, plus a bar area. Parking is limited, but if you're patient, you'll find a spot. The hostess was very friendly!
Walking around near our hotel and came upon The Stubborn Mule. It was busy but we were seated immediately. Being as it was our 1st time dining here, our server recommended the pork belly. When I say it was absolutely delicious I’m not exaggerating. 10/10. Cooked to perfection!!!! The Parmesan fries? So good. As was the burger. Our server (I can’t remember her name) was very attentive and kept checking on our table. I highly recommend eating here if you’re looking for a good meal & great service!
My wife, who is Celiac, and I visited this restaurant this evening. We were waited upon by Santiago, an energetic 20-something with a charming smile and attentive manner. We started with the Tuscan Shrimp Salad to share, which we both found to be bright and crisp (the shrimp in this dish I found preferable to those in my main course later on). This gluten-free dish cleverly subbed chickpeas for the customary croutons, to solid effect. My main, the Shrimp & Grits, was heavy, but very satisfying. The grits were creamy, and had a subtle flavor that built with each bite. The sausage in this dish was surprisingly scrumptious, beating out the shrimp for the starring role of the dish. The vegetables were also yummy. My wife’s main, the Chicken Linguni with a mashed potato base substitute (to make it gluten-free) was also heavy and hearty. The chicken was friendly, stolid, and extremely tender. The taters were also good. Overall, the atmosphere was fun, cheeky, and playful. We heard Doja Cat, Maroon 5, Kendrick Lamar, and Ke$ha. The music taste on display was not only refined, but deserving of that rare praise: eclectic. Having now successfully scouted the terrain, we will likely return, bringing our other Celiac and high-food-standards family members in tow. This Mule was Stubbornly great.
I went here for my anniversary with my boyfriend and I was not disappointed. The Gouda Mac n Cheese is addictive. The entertainment and art is diverse. The bar has a wide range of drinks and our server Santiago was so lovely on our special day! He even made us this with our dessert brownie. Would recommend anyone to go here with friends on a night they want to relax.
SHOUT OUT TO SEVEN he deserves it👏🫶!! Me and my stepmom came sat in the bar and seven was our server , he’s so kind , bubbly, sweet, outgoing n honest. He inspired me tonight as a 17 year old who wants to work begins the bar and made me such a great mocktail btw props to him, but he really topped off our experience with him just being himself. His work ethic: he was very attentive and gave good food suggestions and he was also just really convenient by thinkin ahead that’s awesome😙👌! I hope you have a great seven I love your hair too it’s dope 😉
We are in Orlando waiting for our cruise and wanted something that wasnt a chain, slim pickings... So far we have not had luck. To dave you some time from looking at different places and reading this expose, this place was awesome! The area is more city like and we looked a little out of place. Our necks our red but our money is just as green... Our waiter was very friendly, took care of us regardless. Everyone enjoyed their food, I can't believe this place is only rated a 4.4??? Fir apps, we had the bruschetta and some wings. Everything was great. Brushetta had pesto as the base and fresh shaved parm on top, damn good! Wings seemed to be dry rubbed and served wet, on point... My wife and her family said blue cheese seemed to be homemade and loved it (hate blue cheese myself). My cheese steak was real deal shaved ribeye, with all the fixings and pepper jack fondue. Way better spin on cheese whi2z. My wife had the Fresh Catch BLT sandwich that was blackened Mahi with all the fixings plus a cilantro aioli, dang good. The rest of the crew had the Mule Burger, Along Came Molly and kids had a kids smash burger and the kids cavitappi. The kids cav was a parm cheese sauce, I was forced to help my youngest finish it. I would order that for him again. I was DD so I didn't get to sample dranks but my wife & her mom loved the sangria and FIL loved his different drinks he tried. To sum up this essay, everything was well received. Thank you Gustavo! Definitely coming back next time we are here in the big O. Take care.
Very attentive wait staff, she took the time to connect with us. When our primary waitress was busy another was nice about getting us what we needed instead of making us wait for her. All our meals were excellent! I loved the olive tapanade on the frittata, that was a first for me. The potatoes had flavor and a nice crisp to them. My favorite dish was the beef hash and eggs.
We had 5 people in our group. Anthony was our waiter. He was attentive but not overbearing. Had great recommendations for drinks. Our food and drinks were excellent. My group highly recommends the Expresso Martini, shrimp and grits, and pineapple mimosa. Atmosphere was great for brunch that turned into lunch.
Had a fantastic experience! We went without a reservation and waited 25 out of the 35 minute wait. Sat outside. Seven was a great server. Very professional, attentive and friendly. Felt like a fancy restaurant but not with fancy prices. Started with the pretzel bread which was not overly salty and was divine. As someone allergic to beer, it was a nice surprise that I could have it. We split the special (pan seared salmon over light cream sauce with linguini) and it was a perfect portion and heavenly. 100% recommend. Great food, service and atmosphere.
I came here with a girlfriend after an event and we had a old-fashioned. Seven, the bartender, was absolutely wonderful and made one of the best old-fashioned I have ever had. And let me say I’ve had quite a few. I would love to come back and check out their food. But a definite must try, great staff, great drinks, vast variety of different liquors, and then a great part of town. I would highly recommend this place.
My boyfriend and I have been here a few times and it has always been excellent. This time we had the Asian pork belly and the bruschetta, both incredible. The rosemary fries are also top notch. We came here a year ago today for our first date and when our waiter heard about that, he brought us out a complimentary slice of delicious chocolate cake. Thank you so much to Brandon, you were so sweet!! We will definitely continue to come back.
If Stubborn Mule isnt on your brunch spot list in Orlando it most definitely should be! While they dont have unlimited mimosas they do have the option to buy the sparkling wine by the bottle. They offer different bottles starting at $25/bottle. I went with 3 other friends and between the 4 of us it was more than reasonable. The food was delicious. I recommend the pork belly and brunch nachos to share. They were so good!! Our server was great. She had amazing energy and accommodated our requests as needed. They have indoor and outdoor seating (if that's your preference). 10/10 will always recommend for brunch.
Sat at the bar to have lunch and watch the college football game. The bartender was incredible. She asked what I wanted to drink and if I wanted a menu. I said I wanted an Ultra and yes to the menu. She was very busy but always had time to talk or see what I needed. When it was time for my game, she grabbed the remote and put it on the TV without me having to ask. Great smash burgers too. Love this place
This restaurant offers a perfect balance of great food and ambiance. The interior feels warm, stylish, and welcoming. Seating is comfortable and thoughtfully arranged. Service is efficient and friendly from start to finish. The food quality is outstanding. Every dish tastes fresh and well seasoned. Presentation adds to the overall dining experience. Portions are satisfying and well priced. The atmosphere makes dining here a pleasure. A place you’ll want to visit again and again.
Food was delicious. Must have sticky pork belly bites and hot honey flatbread. Short rib hash and shrimp and grits were delicious! Everything was flavorful, prepared well and presented excellently. Definitely returning.
No AC? No problem. Restaurant's AC was out when we visited. We sat outside. No big deal. Service was stellar, we were checked on at least 10 times in a little more than an hour. Prices for everything were affordable!! Pork Belly - crispy edges, soft & chewy inside, sauce was amazing. We considered ordering a 2nd round. Sauce was great. Perfect app. Korean BBQ St. Louis Ribs - cooked long and slow so the meat was tender but still chewy. Great texture, great sauce. Pickled onions were a nice touch! Drinks were unique, interesting, balanced with thought put into them. We went for dinner, but the portions of the apps were big enough to leave us totally satisfied! Awesome trip, 10/10 will return.
Great vibes and good food! Best location to go with tons of parking in downtown orlando. The drinks are moderately priced and walking distance of everything ! I enjoy the cool air in the patio and perfect for a first date.
It's always a pleasure to visit a downtown staple such as The Stubborn Mule... I was delighted to see that they weren't stubbornly busy as we seated promptly and our server arrived almost immediately. They seemed enthused to take our order and provided us excellent service with a smile. How can you visit The Stubborn Mule without having an actual mule to drink?! We tried several flavors and they definitely stood up to their name as the mule was delicious and packed a punch 🥊 The burger and truffle fries.....Amazing... I almost ordered another burger... Definitely highly recommend and will return! This is the perfect place to grab a quick tasty bite before heading out for the night or for lunch to enjoy yourself ⭐️
We enjoyed a great dinner here recently! The hostess was very accommodating to my request of a cushioned high top seat, and was very understanding about it. Our server was friendly, and the food was delicious. The salads were fresh and filling, and our son’s sandwich came out perfectly as well. I’d return if in the area.
If you’re looking for an amazing dining experience, The Stubborn Mule is the place to be! We tried the pork belly, which was absolutely perfect—cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. People say it’s the best dish on the menu, and they’re 100% right! The parmesan fries were deliciously crisp, and the mac and cheese was incredibly creamy and flavorful—easily one of the best we’ve had. To top it off, I ordered an Arnold Palmer, and it was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and just right. The service was outstanding—our waitress was so kind and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The overall experience was incredible, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
This spot gets all 5 ⭐️ all around. The food is delicious and exquisite. The vibes and atmosphere is on point and can’t miss. Just the right amount of music and the chatter around. The service was great Jessica took real good care of us and helped me picked just the right menu items. The price is smooth on the wallet even if your money if funny. 😆
Out of towners that stopped in for a lunch and hit a winner. The chicken salad sandwich was killer. The Cuban was awesome too. They often are dry but this pork was perfectly cooked. We received the mac and cheese by accident and it wound up being a pleasant surprise! Brandon offered terrific service also, all around a great afternoon!
The Stubborn Mule is a fun and vibrant spot that combines innovative New American cuisine with a tribute to the classic Moscow Mule cocktail. With eclectic decorations and a lively atmosphere, it’s the perfect place to eat, drink, and enjoy good company. The food here is absolutely top-notch. Everything is super fresh, and our server even mentioned that most of the ingredients are sourced locally, a detail that definitely shines through in the flavors. I went with the smash burger, and it was perfection. The meat was packed with flavor, and the crispy edges were just what you’d hope for in a great smash burger. Of course, you can’t visit The Stubborn Mule without trying their namesake mules. The drinks were perfectly crafted and brought just the right balance to the meal, making for a truly satisfying dining experience. If you’re looking for a unique and memorable spot to enjoy fresh, high-quality food and fantastic drinks, The Stubborn Mule is a must-visit. Whether you’re there for the food, the mules, or just the great atmosphere, this place delivers.
This restaurant was perfect for dinner & they have happy hour until 6, with 25% off appetizers and drinks. They are known for their mules of course. Everything we ordered from the pretzel appetizer to the chicken salad sandwich and burger was delicious. The waitress was friendly, helpful & very attentive and totally sold us on the carrot cheesecake which is very large, could probably feed 3-4 people. We definitely will come back for their Monday Mules for $7!! No pictures as we were living in the moment and forgot to take any.
This was my first time here and it was a great experience! Our server was very friendly and we got our food very quickly, which we were pleasantly surprised and very happy about because it was super busy during brunch. Even though they did not have a blueberry mule on their menu, they were still able to make it for me which was super appreciated! I loved this place so much!
Gratamente sorprendida. While sightseeing in Orlando, I stumbled upon this excellent restaurant. The food was exquisite and the atmosphere was very pleasant for a couple of drinks and a good conversation. The service was top-notch. I was pleasantly surprised.
Definitely a place you have to visit in Orlando, perfect for brunch. excellent service and very good food, I recommend it 100%.
Seen this on Tiktok & I'm happy I did. Food was amazing. Literally everything ordered was good. Wait time was like 20 mins so I recommend making a reservation. Only thing I didn't like was the parking and they acted as if they didn't have plastic ware until I had to tell them I have a nickel allergy. Definitely recommend going here because I will be back.
We were in the area after visiting the Harry Leu garden. Service was great even to the host holding the door open as we left. The food was delicious. I had the Korean ribs as the first course. They were tender, sweet, savory and not that spicy. They were served with pickled onions which were a great addition to balance the fat. My main was the short rib with grits. The rib was tender. The grits were a great accompaniment to the meat. The mules were refreshing and delicious. What a great place to grab drinks and food.
The place has a nice atmosphere, easy parking, and good service. The only small inconvenience was with the egg—I ordered it as an addition to my burger, but when it arrived, it didn’t have it. They brought the egg separately after I had already eaten half of the burger, which didn’t make much sense since it should have been served inside the burger. Other than that, everything was great. The food was delicious, the place was clean, and I would definitely come back.
The Stubborn Mule is a very good restaurant. The Stubborn Mule burger was really great and they cooked it a perfect medium rare. The Cuban sandwich with eggs Benedict is different from most Cubans. The pork was really good but it really needed some more cheese and just didn't work for my wife and I. Each dish came with home fries that, IMO, needed to be chopped more consistently in size and were a little dry.
I came in for a late dinner, solo. The staff was friendly and the service was fast. I ordered the smashed salmon sandwich, which was good. It’s basically a deconstructed salmon burger without any fillers. I also ordered a side salad, which was great. I ordered the ahi tuna for some additional protein, had to send it back because it didn’t taste very fresh to me. Possibly just an off day but I’d stay away from raw fish here. Other than that, good experience.
Last night visiting Orlando and this restaurant was recommended. Friendly service. A fantastic drink with pear infused vodka but unfortunately I can't recall the name. I can highly recommend the salmon with saffron rice. Extremely well seasoned and perfect portion size. The short rib grilled cheese sandwich was also delicious and a hearty serving. The appetizer of mushroom toast was underseasoned and on the bland side but overall nice little spot.
We went for brunch to celebrate a birthday. First time there. It’s a bit difficult to find parking, but there’s a paid parking lot half a block away and sometimes Valet parking up front. We had a bit of trouble being seated for our reservation with the hostess, but asked our waitress and they were able to sit us outside as we requested. The outside waiter was very amicable, and fast. The food was actually pretty good. The outside seating is dog friendly, so it was a bit loud when other dogs walked by, but I’m a dog lover so I didn’t mind.
Great spot for a bite downtown. Had their version of the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was excellent. Great change up with the chipotle mayo. Service was a tad slow but it was a busy night so that’s understandable. All in all, great food, solid atmosphere. Wouldn’t mind going back to try other menu items.
I visited for a late lunch and was impressed with both the food and cocktails. I started with the PEI Mussels, which were sweet and flavorful, followed by perfectly crispy fries. The salmon, cooked medium, was delicious and served with a fresh side of asparagus and rice. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I'll definitely be returning.
Parking on the street is a little tricky for this place! Inside and outside seating available. This place is known for its craft cocktails - mules - and infuse their own liquor. Interesting combos if you want to change things up and experiment a bit. Food was fresh and came out relatively fast. I appreciated our waiter as he was clever and funny throughout our visit. Atmosphere is light and airy, lots of high tops.
Food was really good and the menu had lots of options. They also had a pretty extensive cocktail and drinks menu as well! The restaurant is in a very trendy part of town and very close to Lake Eola Park. We were there on a Friday late afternoon and the place was pretty busy. We did have reservations so it wasn't a problem. It was a bit loud in the restaurant and a bit tough to have conversations and order, but nothing that we couldn't overcome.
Service was wonderful as usual. We have brunched in the spot several times. Food is always tasty and on point. Atmosphere and the vibes are great. They have a full bar and a lot of variety of food to pick from. The only reason why I did a 4 out of 5 is because the avocado toast was served in the smallest plate that you can possibly find in the restaurant and the toast is the same exact toast that we use at home. If they serve us with the same toast that we make at home, what makes this dish stand out? It was a mess with everything falling off of the plate.
Food: The Gouda mac & cheese is the best Mac I’ve ever had!! Short Ribs & Wings were delicious. The actually burger patties were extremely under seasoned, couldn’t enjoy/ finish them. We would not order the burgers again. Food was presented well. Drinks: Purple Rain was sweet, fragrant, and delicious. Atmosphere/Service: Wonderful service. We sat outside, and it was great.
Seven was a GREAT server, he genuinely made the experience here much more welcoming, authentic, and fun. Not pictured is the bruschetta and pork belly which was to die for! The Mango Mamacita was my biggest disappointment of the night because it was wayyy too sweet and the mango puree/juice that is used is extremely concentrated. I took a few sips but couldn't bring myself to finish it :( Tasted my friend's order of the NY Strip which was ok. He asked for it medium rare and it definitely came out medium + being a little dry. However, the chicken linguine was delicious! Super creamy and full of flavor. Finally, we got some shots to end our night & Seven made a great recommendation for a tequila I've never had.
This place was a wonderful and pleasant stop near Lake Eola. Perfect intimate spot for a nice conversation with one person or a small group. The environment is very pleasant, and the waiters are very helpful. I started with a rose, and my friend had a mule, but they also had non-alcoholic beverages. We shared a Cuban sandwich that was delicious and very satisfying. I recommend parmesan fries as a tasty side. We both ordered a Cuban sandwich to take home for our kids. Both orders had errors that we did not notice until we got home, which was a bit disappointing. I would like to go here again but will not be ordering to go. I recommend you try this place and promote local businesses.
English - Español 1-The food is good, delicious. The bad point was I ordered my hamburger medium and was well done, even that way was good. 2-The place was nice, the tall table are comfortable and the size perfect. 3-The service wasn't the best. They never were rude, but were too busy and tired that results in a not great experience.
Food was good and service was great. Giving 3 stars due to how warm the restaurant was. Terrible excuse by management stating the above condos were taking their air conditioning and haven’t been able to fix. Several women were fanning themselves and I typically don’t get warm while sitting and eating dinner.
It is a trendy downtown bistro. The food is good, the service was good. Yet I was a little disappointed. I had the namesake Stubborn Mule burger and it was just a mess. Way to tall to pick up and eat, and it just fell apart into mess as I tried to eat it. It would have been easier to pick up if it was wider and not so tall. The fries had a nice seasoning, but I would have liked them more crispy. They were soft.
We wanted something different and tried this neighborhood spot. The Razzle Dazzle mule was a great recommendation by the server, who was attentive and friendly. The Ceasar salad with chickpeas was light and delicious. For an entree, the Ratatouille Cavtappi was a plentiful portion. The vegetables were cooked well. However, the dish lacked flavor. Next, the pepper jack fondue on the Chipotle Cheesesteak was a great addition. We had the white chocolate bread pudding with cranberries. The bread pudding was disappointing due to its firmness in comparison to others I've tried. Overall, the menu had a variety of options worth trying.
I like to start with positives because The Stubborn Mule is worth trying. We did burgers and I will be back to try some of the house specials because the menu is appealing and diverse. Burger patties were very well seasoned. Mac N Cheese was a little on the dry side but did taste good. Mash potatoes were awesome. Server was very nice and professional though service was slow. Reservations were honored and we were seated pretty quickly. And we were there on a week night so I could only imagine what a weekend night might be like. I requested mustard on the side for my burger, did not come out with the burger and by the time I got it the bottom of my burger was a sloppy hot mess. But a testament to how good the burger is because I still ate it. Its loud. Like very loud. High ceilings, a lot of glass, and no acoustic treatment that I could see means you're yelling at someone two feet away from you. And the parking is a major pain if you're not wanting to pay for a garage. If you're close, I would ride share. We will be back to give it another whirl.
Eh! Stopped in to grab a nice drink and just relax. The A.C was broken and as nice as the atmosphere was, the heat made it almost impossible to sit and chill. We did get some finger food, it was okay. Drink I ordered was interesting but forgettable. All in all, the preview didn’t peek my interest in coming back…..
This was our first visit to the Stubborn Mule. Unfortunately, the location and parking is problematic and colored our experience. Parking alone added 20% to the cost as well as 20 minutes to our time. The atmosphere is modern and clean and loud. Service is very professional and quick but it is not personable. The food was good but not exceptional. The bacon beignet was good and pleasant. The garlic wings were tender and flavorful. The Shrimp and grits were also good and well presented. the grits were very plain and generic. The sausage out weighed the shrimp in the meal. The remoulade sauce was flavorful but not memorable. The drinks from the bar were probably the best thing we had. If you live in this area this would probably be a frequent place to visit. For someone that lives outside the downtown area, there was nothing special enough to make the drive or hassle of parking worth the visit.
It was okay. We ordered the Grilled Salmon, Pork chop, Impossible burgers for our entrees and the wings and pretzel rolls for the appetizers. The Impossible Burger, Salmon and Pork Chop were good but service was really slow and it was hard to get a hold of someone for basic things like forks, water or ketchup. The table was incredibly small for 4 dishes.
Made reservations- never been here before. Everyone was real nice and attentive. The food was not that great. The drinks were OK, but at least it was happy hour. I had the pimento grilled cheese and there was hardly any cheese on it at all and the bread overpowered the whole sandwich. The rosemary fries were good and my husband had a burger and he said it was decent.
Didn't make it past the front door. "Reservations REQUIRED" may have been good to know. Looked fairly empty for 4 pm but staff / greeter stated " booked solid for next 2 hours. Thought we would try something new, however l, Longhorn was just up the road and confirmed "zero wait" . First impressions go a long way, unfortunately for them we have limited time and do not enjoy these excursions enough.
for a weekend lunch service, they need to brush up on their organization big time. we walked in first with a reservation, and the couple behind us cut us in line and was able to be sat at a nice table right away. we had to wait 10 more minutes to be sat and when we were, it was shoved in a corner. do better, this made no sense. reservations supersede walk ins.
I went for first time and I ordered food to go. I asked the host about the cheesesteak sandwich and she said it was really good and filling. The cheese steak sandwich came and it was very disappointing. It literally was bread and just a small portion of meat, and there was barely any cheese. It looked like a child’s portion. I tipped the togo server/host and she didn’t even put napkins in the bag. I came back for the napkins and to ask if I was able to eat in a table outside and she said no you cannot. They had 5 tables readily available. I tipped her well and I don’t understand how I couldn’t just sit down for 10 minutes to eat my sandwich. Not a good first impression at all. ridiculous attitude. It was the worst $23 dollars spent.

Lake Eola Park: Un Icono Urbano
