The Waterfront Orlando Reviews
Very small parking lot, def looks sketch from the front but once you get to the outside seating in the back it’s beautiful. Huge portions, great taste, and service was good just a tad slow but we were in no hurry. Enjoyed the view and sunshine.
I came here when traveling to Orlando and stopped here. It was such a cute place right on the lake with some area for kids to play and everything. Waitress was super nice and pricing was good! I got the French dip and WOW. It was so good.
This was a fun place!! It was my husband’s birthday and he picked this restaurant. We were met with 10 star customer service before we got there. My husband decided the day before his birthday that he wanted to go here and I didn’t know if reservations were required, so I called ten minutes before they closed and this super nice lady booked a reservation for us. We arrived the next day and the service was great. Our server was very attentive and kind. The food was delicious and the drinks - shout out to the bartender!!! We will definitely be back!
This was one of the best accidental finds I could've ever asked for! I went there on a slower night which was nice because it was very calm and quiet by the lake, all of the food was PHENOMENAL, literally blew me away with the quality and the lakefront was soooo beautiful at sunset time I will definitely be back! They also have Brunch on the weekends which I'm very excited to try!
We came for Sunday brunch. The food was delicious. Prices were reasonable. Waitress was amazing. We will be here a few more days and are figuring out a way to get back here before we go home. Find them when you come! It will be well worth it.
The Waterfront is the best type of local restaurant with great food, service, and ambiance. Either dine inside for a fun vibe with great music or enjoy your meal outside by the water. Both choices offer great views of the lake. Now let's talk food! The sweat tea was just right, and I highly recommend the Jennie mixed drink. It was light, crisp, and refreshing. They had just finished making some fresh claim chowder, so of course we had to try, and if we could have licked our plates clean, we for sure would have. Highly recommend the Cow Burger, juice, and perfectly cooked was absolutely delicious. It comes with a cheese encrusted bun, and I swapped the American cheese for white cheddar on the actual burger, which I highly recommend. As a side, we enjoyed perfectly cooked garlic parsley fries. When I say perfectly cooked, I mean PERFECTLY COOKED. Each fry was that perfect golden brown with just the right outer crisp and inner creaminess. If you are in the Orlando area and are looking for good food and a fun, laid-back atmosphere, The Waterfront is worth a visit. We were so full we didn't have room for dessert, BUT we did notice a cupcake bar that had a selection for scrumptious looking options, which we are planning to return and sample.
Probably the best dining experience I've had in a while. Fast service, and amaaaazing food. The weather was great, the food was -perfect-. My blackened redfish was perfect, but the tartar sauce really was the best I've ever had. My brother's dishes were also great, the fish and chips and grouper grits bowl. I was surprised with how good the collard greens were. Drinks were made strong. Not a single thing I didn't enjoy!
So it’s near impossible to make my mother happy with her burger. And this restaurant made the “best burger I have had out”. Amazing food, laid back atmosphere, great music. Call ahead because the parking lot is always full. Feel free to drive up with your pontoon if you can.
I've driven by this restaurant several times and always wanted to go. Finally, I made it, lol! Not sure what took me so long but I definitely won't wait to go again. Our server was lovely and sadly I don't remember her name. I love the fact the restaurant was on the water. Such a great location. We only had drinks and apps but the food was delicious 😋. There was live music the night we went and he was great. Our entire experience was wonderful. Only issue was parking, there's not alot of it. The lobster 🦞rolls were amazing. Smoked salmon fish dip was even better. Such a great time!
By far one the best so far in my travels. This would be the 1st 6 out of 5 star. Since doing google reviews (with over 140 millions + views on photos) Easy accessibility and we'll lit. Plenty of parking. Indoor and Outdoor seating. Great atmosphere and live music. Great menu and meduimed priced. Lots of food and taste Great. Awesome service. Kid friendly. Litteraly on the edge of the water. Extremely Highly Recommended
Such a cool little gem. Lakeside water front dining. Cool vibe and great service. The shrimp dinner was so good. And the live music and cocktails just added to the relaxed ambiance! Can’t wait to go back. This just might be a new regular spot for me.
The food is really worth it! The food was really good, the service was great, the drinks were awesome, and the scenery was amazing! Definitely a stop that you should put on your list if you're around the area! The poke bowl was refreshing, the hush puppies were delicious, the seared grouper was great, and the fish tacos were good! It's worth coming here for a date, or with your family!
We visited the Waterfront for our first experience on March 16 and really really enjoyed it. We had Calamari Fingers ($13) as an appetizer and two of us shared the Waterfront Platter($23) which had one fried fish, two chicken tenders, three fried shrimp, two hushpuppies, French fries and Cole slaw. We also ordered a cupcake for dessert. Our server was Brandi and she was wonderful and as attentive as we wanted. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and the feel is very casual. We've passed by this restaurant for years but this was our first visit....and we are looking forward to returning.
First time dining at this restaurant. It was brunch and they had a great menu. The restaurant is a little rustic as it is on the water but nice outdoor eating areas. The staff were very friendly and courteous. Our server Jeanette was very friendly and accommodating with our meal requests. You have to try their bottomless Mimosas with several different flavors. Great tasting food.will definitely be going back.
I loved it! It has all the vibes of a local waterfront bar. The patio is not very fancy and it's right on the water. But even though it looks like a dive, the food and drinks are top notch! I thought everything was very elevated and well-crafted. I would definitely recommend you try this place.
WOW. No kidding this is an honest review. Such a lovely spot, we went here on New Year’s Day. Thankfully they are pet friendly too because I brought my Aussie and he was a good boy so bring your well behaved dogs. I ordered a poke bowl and waffles which were omg so so good and then we took pictures at the view of the water. Very scenic and pretty view for an even better meal.
While visiting Florida for a quick get away. We searched for a local place to get some good food for dinner. Service was excellent, drinks and food were fantastic, and the atmosphere was a nice vibe. The water front was nice. Dress up or down. All in all was a great experience and would definitely recommend. I will be coming back here again when I’m in town!
Loved loved loved this place! It is so laid back and relaxing. Music, great food, corn hole, swings and a great view on the water!! The prices were decent as well!! I had the salmon, kids had fish n chips, grilled cheese and cheeseburger. Service was also great!! Highly recommend!!
I ordered French toast during brunch which was delicious. The view of the lake is lovely. Plus I can’t complain about $15 bottomless mimosas. I was with a big group so the server would just come around with champagne bottles and gave us juice on the side to mix ourselves. Which is nice because I like to make my own ratio of champagne to juice.
My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. We sat outside and the area was covered so there was no problem with glaring sun in our eyes. Thw restaurant sits on a lake and the breeze was glorious. In my opinion the food was very good quality and super tasty not to mention plenty of other choices. I particularly liked their garlic parmesan french fries with their cheesy cheese grilled cheese. Oh, and Key Lime bread pudding for dessert was super yummy!
Easy going lunch time! Really enjoyed our seat by the lake with a delicious meal and laid back tunes. We shared the smoked fish dip for an appetizer and the fish and chips for our meal and we were not disappointed. Everything came out piping hot and the flavors were excellent. We will defintely be back!
Enjoyed the food and the service. I had the shrimp and Grits, which was very good. My cousin had the this bowl, I can't recall the name, but it had blacken grouper, on top of cheesy Grits with collard greens and pickled onions. We will definitely go back again, hopefully before we leave
A wonderful cozy low key lake front hang. They hire great entertainment on the dock. The chef is really going for some interesting ideas here. The grouper bowl with grits is totally insane. I loved it. Asian nachos are interesting and very good. Shrimp and grits are amazing. Drinks are strong and not expensive. I love this place. I'll be back.
This restaurant is so good I started the review while I was eating, if your all about Aesthetics, this isn’t the place for you, this little gem is only for good hearted people. First the staff are beyond kind, but the food OMG 😍🤤 I honestly was shocked WHO IS BACK THERE COOKING !! second, the views 😱 legitimately breath taking especially at sunset. Lastly the atmosphere, the man singing and playing guitar tonight was beautiful! Back to the food 😝😝😝 Appetizers- crab cake Meals - fish tacos & the poky bowl with blackened fish 🥳🥳🥳🥳 amazing !! Even the frozen alcohol wasn’t watered down Nice pina colada & daiquiri 😎😉
I used to work here over 20 years ago when it was Julie’s. I always loved the waterfront atmosphere but the food was just average. Went tonight with j my husband and sat lakeside. Atmosphere is still great (even better actually) and the food is a HUGE improvement. Our waitress (Amanda) was great, the food was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Definitely recommend.
A must try if you’re in the Orlando area. Another hidden GEM with quality food. The waterfront platter is amazing I always get it with no shrimp and extra hush puppies. The salmon platter we decided to make it a salmon sandwich and the servers and kitchen staff are so amazing at allowing you to make alterations. The fries are bursting with flavor from the garlic and parsley Thank you guys for being HUMAN and flexible. I hate going to a place where I’m PAYING only to be told “NO”. The staff has always accommodated our requests so thank you guys for that ! Grouper bowl (not pictured) is also another fav dish 🔥🔥Waterfront view, friendly servers and staff Candy was amazing and super chill. 3 years later I’m still a customer for a reason. Give it a try !
This place is better than it looks! Give it a shot. It's in the middle of the road in a random spot and looks like a run down shack but it's such a good place! The brunch here, superb. Give it a shot. You get to have bottomless mimosas with a variety of different flavors right on the waterfront. It's so chill. And the drinks, they make them pretty strong! Super good about refilling them too, the server will ask you but you can request more too. The food... Oh gosh. Tasssss-ty. The serving size are so huge too! Like we couldn't even finish our own entree let alone the extra one we got. Great place !
The Waterfront is a great little hidden gem south of Downtown Orlando. We visited for Sunday brunch and were really happy with our food and the overall experience. It's a small restaurant overall but the outside seating doubles the seating options. We sat in the main dining room at a picnic style table and had a great view of the lake next to us. While were there we saw a river otter swimming around and a pelican diving for fish! We ordered the Red Velvet Donuts for an appetizer and they were delicious. My fiancé got The Waterfront Breakfast Platter and it did not disappoint! Huge portion and the biscuit was insanely good. I got the Brunch Poutine with a side of bacon and it was delicious. My only complaint is that the side of bacon was a bit small for the price ($4 for 2 slices). Service was great and we really enjoyed seeing the wildlife - will definitely be back!
Rebecca took care of our large party for my birthday. Not only was she flexible to handle our shifting parties at various tables but was super attentive to ensuring we were well taken care of. The food was on point (crab cake & poached egg)! I definitely am recommending her and this business as a place to enjoy brunch with a lake view!
I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is the best, the service is always spectacular, and the views are amazing!! The outside swings are the BEST RELAXING SPOT!!! Overall this is a place you must visit, bring your friends, and family, anyone that may need time to disconnect and that is looking for a lovely day at - The Waterfront.
Stopped in for Saturday brunch and would definitely recommend to anyone in the area. The place doesn’t look like much from the onset but the atmosphere is casual and relaxed, with friendly staff and nice seating outside right on the water. The food was excellent- the crab benedict was shock full of crab, their tots were fried golden to perfection, the veggies were fresh- everything tasted freshly made and was seasoned wonderfully. The biscuits and gravy look unassuming in my picture but they were delicious- the biscuits were big, fluffy and the gravy was the perfect consistency and again, just seasoned really well. Honorable mention for the huge side portion of cheddar grits which were light on the cheddar and once again, seasoned beautifully. The portions were sizable for the price and definitely worth it.
Great spot! The food, staff and atmosphere is really awesome. Blackened Grouper Grits n Collard Greens was on point and was even better than it looked. Shout out to my server Casey! She was awesome and a great personality. The Waterfront is going on my list of places to go in Orlando when I'm here. 😎
We throughly enjoyed our early dinner. I ordered asian wings and they were delish and my bud had the cheese burger just the way he likes it rare. Oh, the fries were phenomenal and very cold beer. We sat outside it was lovely looking out at the lake so calming. We will be going back.
Absolutely AMAZING!!! Our server was Casey and she was, HANDS DOWN, the best server I've had at any restaurant!!! My mother just recovered from a liver transplant and we took her out to celebrate! It's also her birthday! Casey brought her out a shot (of diet coke!!) With a candle attached! 💜💜💜 100 out of 100 would recommend!! 🥰🥰
Definitely a play on don't let first impressions fool you. From the outside of the building you might not be impressed, but when the food hits the table. There's nothing left to the imagination. Service was good and our beverages never went empty. Food was quick, and everything on the plate was great. Was really impressed with the collard greens. I could have taken a bucket or two home. Even the French fries were great. Definitely recommend and Definitely coming back again. (Sorry about the pictures, the food was too good to wait)
Location, people and food were all excellent! We were visiting and wanting a local place to avoid the tourists, and this was golden! Inventive menu items with seafood lean including poke bowls, grilled and fried items, salads, fish tacos and nachos. Grilled shrimp and couscous special was delicious! Indoor and outdoor seating. Complete bar options and mimosas all day specials. Kids/family friendly.
Orlando, FL. Zero curb appeal, but amazing food!!!not the cleanest but the food is great!!! Good lakeside views in back daytime to dusk; servers are all petite and wear shorts and black tops; it’s a neighborhood favorite; one tv in the playground area was broadcasting cage fights, tonight there were at least three families with little kids dining here; the first thing you see when you enter the door is a spray bottle and cleaning rag, but did I mention the amazing food!!! The parking lot was, like, down in a hole and part of it wasn’t paved plus it wasn’t that well-lit so don’t bring your 95-year-old granny here who’s prone to falls. But if you like the idea of your favorite uncle who’s a chef inviting you to eat in their trailer home by the lake you’ll absolutely love it here. So my husband is super picky about restaurants because he was a busboy then short order cook at the Gourmet Fine Dining cafe in La Habra. He said the fried shrimp here were the best he’s ever had: cleaned well, huge, great batter recipe and fried in fresh oil. He also said the hush puppies were the best he’d ever had. The sauces, all made in house, were amazing. He said the cocktail sauce had the perfect amount of horseradish in it. My tartar sauce was full of minced pickles and had weight to it. The collard greens were made from scratch with smoky ham, just a touch of sugar and a touch of vinegar to them: they were fresh, not canned. Great Southern collard greens. His fries were battered; he prefers McDonald’s fries and doesn’t like battered fries but forget about that, this isn’t the French Fry Palace, we came for amazing seafood and their chef delivered!!! Plus I dipped his fries in my tartar sauce and I thought they were hot and fresh and good. I had the Red Fish blackened style with asparagus and collard greens. The seasoning on my blackened fish was spot on, lots of cayenne and magic. They had cupcakes in a refrigerated case by the front, so that was on the menu at $5 each, 5/11/24. Our server, Delaney, was great! Helpful, got our orders right without writing them down, and smiled as she served us. There was another server with red hair who was also really kind and helpful when I asked where the bathrooms were. Music was a tad loud with a steady beat: Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, etc. The menus were dirty said my husband, the tables have grooves in them; the floor boards were creaking. It’s like your uncle Mitch bought this cute trailer back in the day, put it by the lake and added a sidewalk and paved area in back and a deck on to it on the side. Plus a playground. Uncle Mitch (I’m completely making this up but it’s based on how this place looks) loved surfing and just knew if he made the best food in town this sweet business would fund his retirement years. Well, this site may look rundown in front but it is still thriving and the community is keeping the legacy alive it looks like. This is a good Orlando small business with great food!!!
If you are looking for fancy, this isn’t it. If you want hole in the wall ambiance, you found it. Good music and comfortable surroundings are the key here. Sit inside or outside waterfront. Service is top notch, and a real good Bloody Mary. Prices are in the right range for lakeside dining. Our server Casey was excellent and very attentive.
Great food and awesome chill vibe. But my favorite and the reason why I will go back Is Leah. She was so nice and referred to me by my name making me feel very special. She’s the best waitress I’ve had in a long time. She treated me as if she was the owner and really Cared about me having a good experience and coming back. :)
It was my dog’s birthday (yes I’m one of those lol😅) and they made it extra special for us! It’s a beautiful day and where else better to spend it than on a lake! The owner personally delivered her birthday chicken dinner and our waitress Amanda (A-mazing) brought out her first pup cup and some doggie treats as a surprise! 💜
I'm being completely honest... When we pulled up, we were a bit skeptical 🫤 about eating here. Looks can be deceiving. We ordered the Waterfront Platter, fish, shrimp, chicken, hushpuppies, and fries everything had it's own flavor and it was delicious. Not like when you go to some restaurants and they have the platter and it all tastes the same. Not here. We will be back to try other items on the menu.
My wife tried this place back in February while on a short vacation. We couldn’t wait to come back. We flew in Thursday night and went straight there for dinner. We both had the same thing as our last time. She raves about the Ahi nachos while I’m a huge fan of the Waterfront burger with garlic fries. There’s adequate parking and great service. Weather was great so we sat out back by the water. Wonderful.
This place is a hidden GEM!! I can’t wait to go back! It is very busy so time yourself especially on a Sunday. The food was amazing! We ordered the breakfast, and two of my must try meals, fried shrimp and shrimp and grits. The food was amazing. I’d say these were prawns rather than shrimp as they were really big and had a sweet flavor and meaty texture, OMG all I can say is neither of us left a shred of food on our plates and we will return as soon as we can!
This little waterfront grill and bar proved to live up to its reputation as a Local favorite. Our waitress, Casey, was on point with her service. We ordered the seafood platter, po boy sandwich, poke bowl, shrimp and the Hanger steak. Everything was cooked and prepared perfectly! My steak was super tender and the hush puppies were some of the best we have eaten. The steak is reasonably priced at $23. Happy hour drink specials every day with beers starting at $3. I wish we could stay for the Sunday brunch with bottomless mimosas. If you want something light and refreshing, try the Jennie Jewel. This was the best meal and service we've had this week!
The staff was friendly and very chatty and casual, food was great!! Offer many different options for food and drink, some domestic, some rare brew, top shelf drinks available also, and the atmosphere is absolutely amazing!!! 6-10-22 Came back again for the atmosphere a year later.... 4-22-23
Fun water front restaurant. The food were surprisingly good for this type of bar on the water. The jumbo shrimp were actually jumbo like the name, love it. Tried out the wings, they were really good. Their unique bbq spicy sauce was good. Drinks are fun and delicious. The water front view is just seal the deal. The food aren’t cheap like typical bar food tho, but quality. You can make a good meal out of it. Love this place.
Totalmente recomendable!
Agradable lugar. Vista, atención, comida, ambiente!! Me encantó!!
Magnífico Lugar. Ideal para ver el atardecer. La relación precio calidad es buena. Sin duda, volveré.
Agradable lugar con estilo playero y una bonita vista al lago.. buena comida y atencion
Love the Vybz, the music even the service. The food was not AMAZING, it was decent. The crab cakes was what I originally ordered and I must say it was not my favorite. As a substitute dish I got the waterfront burger and it was a much better taste for my palette. This place was a hidden gem for me so no bad complaints, even the service was outstanding😀.
We went for breakfast after I got my blood drawn at "Lab Corp" it was ok, food was good & service was ok. Seth was not in any hurry to serve people. He was very nice, but he carried out items, one at a time, we did not see him use a tray. He was still attentive but there was no sense of urgency, I had not eaten or had any coffee this morning & I sure was ready for food & coffee by the time we got there.
Nice atmosphere. The food was very good. We sat outside. They did have a live guitar music that night. It was really nice. Only a few things that kick it down to a 4 for us. The crab cake starters were 22$ and very small. They were not worth the money. The burger was very good. The one thing I would change is the blue cheese was about 1” thick which all you taste is blue cheese so we had to scape that off and then the burger was good with a hint of blue cheese. The fish platter was good too. The fish batter was very salty and the chicken batter was missing the salt lol. Maybe they were having an off night. But the food was good over all and other then the crab cakes was priced fairly.
The first thing you need to know about this place is that it definitively has dive bar vibe. They have waterfront seating but it’s only like five tables or so. Not the best view or ambience BUT the food is pretty good. The Fisherman Sando is crispy yet juicy and the fries are really good! Also the Blackened Grouper bowl was really yummy with the cheesy grits really stealing the show - so good! One thing I didn’t love were the lobster slider appetizers. The lobster was chopped up and didn’t really taste or remind me of a lobster roll.
Finally, a waterfront joint that serves good food. Most of them.... I'm looking at you Grills...are lame. Everything we had here was very well prepared. The fried shrimp are super jumbo sized and perfectly cooked. The batter is unusual compared to many places, but in a good way. Similar to what you'd find on the onion rings from Boston's fish house. Also recommend the garlic parsley fries.
I saw a lot of other great reviews for this place and I can understand the appeal. I however had more of a mixed experience. The food and service were very good. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating. The drinks were not very good at all. My wife’s strawberry daiquiri tasted like really old freezer burned ice or something off. My drink was OK but nothing great. There was also a regularly occurring odor of sewage at our outdoor seats. I’d speculate that they have a malfunctioning drain field and when the toilets flush, you get as a whiff. There was live music which is normally a nice touch but the volume was louder than it should have been for the musicians equipment. I think if I was a local, the food, atmosphere and service would be enough to take the time to find some better drinks and less smelly seating that would help me enjoy this spot to its full potential.
Cute little local bar on water. Waitresses were nice. Online made the menu look delicious n said they had steak n many other items. They advised us that was from 3 years ago n showed us the new menu…. They were out of all 4 items we ordered on the menu n all draft beers. We were told because the owner has health issues n hasn’t been able to keep up with the business. Hope he gets better soon!! It could be an awesome place!! Sending thoughts n prayers!!
Pros: Great View! Cool atmosphere. Live music. Poke Bowl was AMAZINGLY delicious! Cons: Parking is limited. Hostess walked off as soon as I came in, I wasn't acknowledged until about 6 minutes later, ended up choosing to sit at the bar. While at the bar, had to wave down the bartender to get a drink and a menu. Bartender was rarely at the bar, ended up ordering all my rounds at once seeing as it was hard to get service! Guy next to me seemed to know a waitress there and was getting top-notch service directly from her! How ironic. Mind you this was on a Saturday evening! The seared avocado appetizer was bland and chips tasted old (not crunchy). Overall, food was decent to good. Service was definitely not up to par! The view was the best part although the weather was gloomy. Highly doubt I'll be going back.
Drove an hour here as a day date with my husband. The atmosphere was nice, the service was SUPER slow and they weren’t even that busy. The food was also not great, just okay. However the drinks were strong. We ordered the crab cake appetizer, it came with two small crab cakes but they were good (I think this was the best part of the meal). I ordered the red fish special, the presentation was nice but the fish was SUPER bland. After doctoring it up, it was good. My husband ordered the waterfront platter, his food was good but nothing spectacular. The server was super inattentive and made the experience less than desirable. I doubt if we’ll be back. But it was nice to try it since it sits on a lake. Oh, and they feed you on paper plates.
The food was really tasty and the service was fast and friendly. This spot is a dive bar. It was clean. However, the interior needs work. The views are okay - covered by plexiglass. When we walked in the entrance had a very strong and unpleasant smell. It was much worse when we left. The fried grouper poke bowl was fresh and delicious. Hoping they completely renovate and keep the menu.
